I used shapeshift.io daily I have never had them send to the wrong address. But today they sent one payment to the wrong address. They claimed that it was an error on my part. I took a screen shot of my deposit address and withdrawal address which clearly reflect that I entered the correct btc wallet address. So far they havent gotten back to me after that email. I wanted to know if someone else faced the same problem? or there is something fishy going on there now...

Hi, I use this service numerous times and it's the best, there's no question about it but I just wanted to ask can it have some sort of calculator, so one can input the amount of coins one want to exchange and get an idea on how much will the converted coins be after the exchange? I know it shows the conversion rate prior to exchange but a little calculator would make the process more simpler.

The Tx has gotten the 1st confirmation within 2 minutes, so maybe there is another problem on your side =/
Can you reveal what coins were being converted? Was it DRK to BTC for example? yeah I exchanged some DRK for BTC Gotcha, okay. Our DRK wallet gets stuck sometimes, that is probably the reason for the delay. Apologies again, and please let us know if we can help with anything further. |

I tested this service with a small amount and it worked as promised.
I then tested it with a little bit bigger amount and it worked again.
I then tried an even bigger amount (which was still within their limits) and they didn't pay anything back.
I suggest being careful here....
Hello, if there was a problem with your order could you perhaps contact us so we can rectify? If an order doesn't process, we refund it immediately. Hello, it has not been refunded and there have been several confirmations. It now got sent, but it took way longer than advertised. This is not a problem in this case but it would have been if it was an actual payment and not just me exchanging some coins. Please accept our apologies for the delay on the order. Sometimes block confirmation delays and/or suspicious double-spend transactions can cause delays. |

Thanks! We think this makes all altcoins more valuable... they can now be spent anywhere! I actually thought the exact opposite. The first thing that came to my mind was how any altcoin not part of this would run the risk of getting devalued. In the article I wrote, I expressed my concern with the short term prices of non affiliated altcoins and how they could lose value. However, I saw how this could be a great thing in the long term by culling the basic ones and leaving all the innovative coins. Crypto does behave oddly so who actually knows what the outcome will be  Well if your argument is that coins supported by ShapeShift will be more valuable than those that aren't, then we would agree. Of course, we're working hard to continue to add all leading coins. Most coins that have any kind of community and usage will end up on ShapeShift soon. |
