281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RISE | ICO OPEN | LAST 24 HRS OF ICO | MAINNET SOON | OVER 1100 BTC RAISED on: June 23, 2016, 06:02:46 PM
Daily Dev Update

I am currently in full launch prep mode, building servers, getting them secured, and testing load. I will likely be doing this all night tonight, and will be unavailable for communication via Chat until we launch tomorrow. The rest of the RISE team is available for discussions in our chats.

For a quick update on how to withdraw, here is how the process will work.
1. There will be a button on your profile "Withdraw to Wallet". This will then randomly generate a 12 word mnemonic key as a passphrase (on your computer). This will be displayed to you, you will need to keep this passphrase in a safe place, as it is how you will access your wallet.
2. The mnemonic will be sent to the Rise Mainnet API, encrypted in transit through SSL, to create an account on our mainnet with that passphrase. Once this comes back as completed, and the wallet address is created, it will trigger a deposit into your account from the RISE Investor account (Starting with 88,000,000 RISE).
3. At this point, you will have access with your RISE, via the passphrase.

Talk to you all on launch day! [ Tomorrow ]

P.S. We have partnerships with the following companies:

Microsoft - They are providing server and development support, and one-click blockchain installer support
IBM Global Entrepreneur Program - Credit with both BlueMix and Softlayer, and IBM Blockchain tools.
Digital Ocean - Server Sponsorship
Atlassian - Developer Tools and Productivity suite (Jira, Confluence, Hipchat, Bitbucket)[/b]

1. Announcement on Mainnet will be made as soon as it is up. It has been stated before that mainnet will be ready same day as launch.
2. It is public already, has been since we started working on it. https://bitbucket.org/risevisionfoundation is the URL for all of our source code.
3. Yes, no ETAs yet, and they requested we do not release names until they are ready to announce us.
4. We are in discussions with a few different Developers, and we have a couple of projects ourselves to announce, but we will wait to announce any of that until the DApp side of our platform is fully functional.
5. Bounties will be handed out sometime after launch. We do not have any more specific details than that.

I think it's wrong to use the term 'node' , it should be 'gateway'.. because It uses subchain and not nodes.. am I correct ?
Hi,

Correcting the terms. It is the choctaw star gate and navajo magic gateway Wink. And yes the magic gateway is the entry and the csg is the exit into and out of the subchain networK.

Regards
Shahim

Yes I understand that from the whitepaper but I keep seeing people throwing the word 'nodes' around which I think is not correct and misleading. thanks

Anonymous Network Decentralisation

One of the next major steps for Navajocoin is to decentralise the anonymous nodes so that anyone running a webserver can install it and process Anonymous transactions. Make no mistake, the current system runs off the Navajo Subchain which is built using decentralised blockchain technology. However there are obvious concerns in publishing the node technology due to the risk of someone altering the code maliciously. We are currently investigating options on how to approach this so we can truly decentralise the node system.

Thank you Pakage for making this crystal clear.

Yep, we've had a few discussions on how to do this already. Probably the best idea so far is to port the processing scripts to a language which can be compiled. Something like Node.JS or Java would do nicely. Then before a wallet sends a transaction to a particular node, it would run a checksum against the compiled file and compare the result against a masternode's checksum. Then if they both match, it means that the files have been unaltered and it is safe to send the transaction to that node for processing.

Until we can guarantee a method which is unbreakable and unalterable, we can't distribute the processing code. It is high on our agenda though.

For now, we have a setup multiple nodes across multiple web hosts of which one is chosen at random. So it is somewhat decentralised already, even if not publicly.

Awesome!  Thank you!
 Roll Eyes

And, as I said in my post on the project roadmap and i would like to reiterate it here again; We can't currently distribute the node scripts until we can integrity check every node that a user sets up (for obvious security reasons). However, the current system is running as per the whitepaper and it uses the decentralised navajo subchain to pass value from the incoming nodes to outgoing nodes and instruct the outgoing node who to send the coins to and how many to send.

The Navajo Anonymous Network does NOT rely on a centralised database to store transaction values and addresses.

It is NOT simply a coin mixer with master nodes.

So even if the system were to get wiped out, we could set it back up by simply restoring the subchain wallet and the script, then the wallet would re-sync and start processing any pending transactions again since the data is decentralised on the block chain and not stored in a database.

I hope everyone has taken the time to read the whitepaper, even if it is reasonably technical and boring.

What a great piece of information from pakage, hope everyone reads this carefully and have a little more understand of how the system works

after reading last couple pages, it seems that out of all the recent posters,  gnargnar is the only person that want the price to drop so he can buy back because he sold. read all his recent posts it saids it all

I didn't know we have the dumbest people invested in NAV.... or maybe just whale playing try to make people panic ?

I don't think so. People tired of waiting. Good intensions with awful implementation!

I don't buy that... based on your post, it looks like you have sold and now hoping others to dump so you can get back in cheaper.

I'm downloading 3D Sex and Zen movie file and it clearly tells me it would take 2 days to complete but instead it downloaded in less than 2 hours.. and I get to watch it sooner....... I'm not happy !! who should I bitch to ??

my whole saffroncoin folder inside Appdata is only 234mb which I assume the blockchain is stored in there too

I just discovered that the full wallet downloads the blockchain that is quite bloated at 10GB... and will keep on bloating. This is a grave inconvenient. Any planned workaround or solution Roshan?

What ? are you sure ? how do I check this on my computer to confirm this ? my Appdata directory is not that big.
