281  Economy / Economics / Re: Meta has burned $15 billion trying to build the metaverse on: October 15, 2022, 03:11:21 PM
Growing up in and participating in Silicon Valley tech long before the internet, this is how it goes. Small team of very bright people get together and make a dream happen. It's exciting and knew. then the company get's too big too fast and is no longer agile and innovative. It's struggles to force innovation and buckles under it's own weight.

Zuck has bloated woke pig that won't sing anymore. I think VR/Meta is a something looking for an application.

I think it's dumb as NFT's.
282  Other / Politics & Society / Re: AN END TO ELON'S GENEROSITY on: October 15, 2022, 03:03:26 PM
You hope it wouldn't be problem with all the billions headed that way...
283  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture HODL on: October 15, 2022, 02:40:30 PM
As a farmer this thread is hilarious. Farming is the probably some of the hardest work you will ever do. There are no days off, summer vacations, family days... None. Your sick? so what you must work.

Remember your not making a dime until that crop sells. Many confuse gentleman farming for local markets with true ag, they ain't the same.
284  Economy / Economics / Re: The whole tipping culture in western countries is unfair and totally wrong! on: October 14, 2022, 11:11:51 PM
Welp, most employees do the least amount possible as they can get away with. They are incentivized to be good because there take home will be reflected in money. A shining example is bartending.

Pay them more with no tips (Seattle) and they will be lazy.

When SF did it's number on min wage I stopped tipping in SF. I paid  it already.

So when a breakfast goes from 8.99 to 17.99 due to wages, I stop tipping. They don't get both.
285  Economy / Speculation / Re: What’s going to make Bitcoin turn from a downward to an upward trend? on: October 14, 2022, 01:57:14 PM
It's easy, it pretty much follows the markets.

Allot of bad news still to come, probably another 75 basis points in Nov. Housing crash, a bank failure or two, some exchange drama and all. When the bad things are over, then.

Predictions, hope, wants, needs and big shot and nobody Youtubes mean nothing and mostly wrong.

Buy on bad news sell on hope-n-fomo....
286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bull Market, Is it going to come soon or Will People have to Wait More.. on: October 14, 2022, 05:21:06 AM

It pretty much follows the American markets as I believe most of money is US sourced managed. There will be allot of bad news coming such as the housing bubble, bank failures, mass bankruptcy's, auto market crashing on repo inventory. I would expect some exchange problems as well. At best it it will trade sideways me think for 2023. Things will turn around when we run out of bad news.

I'm not compelled to put money in now to have the same amount in 9 months, I''l do other more productive things and buy in then.

287  Other / Off-topic / Re: What makes someone an illegal immigrant? on: October 13, 2022, 06:03:13 PM
Well technically it's illegal alien.

They do not have a legal right to be here, when they cross the boarder the activity is against the law, so it's illegal.

It's pretty cut and dry.

I think I need to get high to interpret this
289  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price drops as US inflation reaches 40-Year High on: October 13, 2022, 03:58:15 PM
Welp, us Americans including myself tend to think myopically about things. We can make rules of engagement here and think it's for the world. I haven't needed it (yet)  but the tax wash is a great tool and mitigates my losses, the man doesn't mind taking my money when I win.

But these things will still be going on all over the world however their government allows. Less the better, no matter how good idea it seems inviting the govt in your life never works out, ever.
290  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Marriage: Character or Beauty? on: October 12, 2022, 01:09:43 AM
I have to be attracted but character is a necessity.

First wife was big in church, cheated on me.

Second wife was innocent girl next door type, cheated on me.

(they both had massive childhood flaws, neither blamed it on me)

Had a stripper girlfriend that treated me perfectly and fought for me like a shield madden. Loyal as a good hunting dog. But she wanted kids and I was done with that already.

Sometimes you just don't know until you know.  Thing aren't always what they seem.
291  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Considering doing OTC BTC/CASH side hustle? Input? on: October 11, 2022, 07:56:31 PM
Hi
Are you still interested in BTC? I only have BTC.

Well this wasn't I want to buy your BTC thread.

There is a section here for those activities.

I decided at this time not to do it for many reasons. I still think it's a doable idea down the road.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2022, 07:49:26 PM
(puts on tinfoil hat)

It's conceivable that Elon created bitcoin and he came out during that timeframe, yup 100K and then some.

(removes hat)
Sorry to interrupt,  but i seems not to understand what you are trying to say here, because its generally known that the creator or inventor of Bitcoin is Satoshi Nakamoto and not Elon Musk, and Bitcoin is not the only coin Elon has had great influence on, that is, if you will want to use thst as a parameter for judging, being the richest man alive, because Elon was one of the great promoter of Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and Babydoge coins if you seems to have forgotten, of which accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment for his Tesla motors skyrocketed Bitcoin March last year 2021

So what your saying is Satoshi is a real person? Really?

It's pretty much accepted that the SN is a name de plume, pop around the webz there are some pretty good arguments that it could be. If I created bitcoin I would want to be anon too

294  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people cheat in relationships?? on: October 11, 2022, 01:46:38 PM
Both my wives were cheaters and I fired them...

Neither put any effort in before I knew and then demanded I put effort in afterwards.

No go, you had your chance. Kick rocks.

Why? They were damaged before I inherited them. It had little to do with me and how they felt about themselves,
self worth the need for constant new acceptance and approval of others.  Even if I put on my best captain save-a-ho cape I couldn't save them.

My second wife still sniffs around after 11 years. So I called her bluff, I told you take time off your work and fly, get a rental car and see me on your dime. Didn't happen, two months later she is Mexico...... Predictable.

The lessen I learned is start with high quality material, you can't forge it.

295  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Purchase of ASICs in the Current Market on: October 11, 2022, 01:26:51 PM
I keep hearing that ASIC prices have dropped as a result of the current bear market. Is now the time to invest in a miner? I don't have cheap electricity or any provisions to accommodate miners, so I'll look into hosted mining solutions.

Welcome.

No clue to where you are. But how do you heat your home? If via electricity you can use the heat byproduct to heat your home over the winter until you find a home for it. Do the math.
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2022, 01:11:08 PM
Elon is a big player for sure. People and corporations will follow his lead so ultimately he can make a long term impact. Good or bad.

That being said if Elon hypothetically induced a big pump I would take my profits in a jiffy. If or when then price nears my blended amount or lower I'll DCA some of back in. Diversify some.

297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Censorship resistance is underrated, move to bitcoin and #DeletePaypal on: October 10, 2022, 05:05:14 PM
This minute PP is down 6.3% and falling as expected.

A week or so ago Ray Dalio who I respect very much came out with PP as a good growth opportunity.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/12-best-growth-stocks-buy-191841097.html

Hmmm..  Tank the stock out, buy in and when the sheep in mass forget and use PP because of limited options the stock goes up...

Goes against my fiber, but hey. maybe make some money.

298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Censorship resistance is underrated, move to bitcoin and #DeletePaypal on: October 10, 2022, 12:18:45 PM
It's going to be real interesting to watch PP stock price this week.

Jack Dorsey and Block are probably the closest ones to strike PP. He still leans in to the left/woke crowd tho.

Jack Mallers, maybe if he can get some big HP behind him. He could be a disruptor in the field.

Poor Ebay, they pretty much run on PP.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC price manipulation on: October 09, 2022, 08:55:28 PM
One man can send markets either way with a Tweet............ So Musk or Saylor don't have influence?

Powell is whale.

Bitcoin is still small potato's to the markets.

300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC price manipulation on: October 09, 2022, 05:38:43 PM
Of course they do and that's the way it works. Oil, stocks metal bitcoin or anything can and is manipulated.

JP Morgan get busted doing it and the fine is less than the take.
