282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Russia Roulette real gambling game ? on: July 07, 2024, 02:02:39 PM
The Russian roulette that I have played before was on a gambling site and it is just the normal roulette game which is this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roulette.
I also saw it in that same movie; another old American movie in which such a game was also played is The Knight Club."

That game is very dangerous; in fact, such a game is not even supposed to be made legal in any part of the world, not just some part, because it's completely violent and could be considered one of the most deadly games for someone.

Imagine playing it in an open society, and if such a game is made legal, how many lifeless people will they be taking out of the game hall on a daily basis?
This reminds me of gladiators fighting in old Rome and Spartan where people sit in an open arena to bet and watch how two or more gladiators fight in a duel till death. However, the Russian roulette as it is called is kinda different from that of the gladiators, been that, the gamblers decides to take part in this type of gambling out of their own consent or in dare circumstances.  It is only in the movies I have watched these games but never in real life. And the reason is that no government that value the lives of her citizens will give any form of legality to such insane game.  It is suicidal and should be discouraged even from movies scenes.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have some people used casinos to hide the origin of funds? on: July 07, 2024, 01:37:00 PM
This is why KYC is implemented in a casino because, if not, money laundering would be easily done by criminals. Aside from mixers, casinos are one way to clean funds, or what we call laundering. The government knows about this and has very strict policies that we need to follow. However, some casinos are even abusing these rules in their favor. They use the KYC requirement to scam gamblers, which is why we need to choose the right casino—a casino with a good reputation.
There are many real issues that need to be reviewed regarding the application of KYC requirements to gambling, because the application of KYC can be exploited by casinos with bad reputations to collect a lot of user data. I think the solution to this problem must be an official site or list from the government that indexes officially registered casino gambling sites following regulatory requirements, so users no longer need to worry about providing KYC data at casinos that have been officially verified by the government.
We have to check the casino's license first. If we trust their license provider, then that's when we can register and trust them. Although the government can regulate a casino, there's still no assurance that our information, which is required during KYC, will not be leaked because there are both compliant and non-compliant casinos. Just like people, there are good and bad ones. However, the good thing is that because they are regulated, the government can easily check them and penalize them if they violate the law unlike those unlicense which are hard to find.
The only good thing about regulated casinos is that the government can easily clamp on them when they go against regulatory operations either on the customers or that with the government, and this makes us somehow safer using them against unlicensed and unregulated casinos. But on that aspect of having the assurance, that our data would never be leaked to the government should they demand for it is very questionable. Just one threat from the State is enough to have our data released to them.
As for people that wants to wash or shuffle money, casinos aren't a place for that, with the heavy regulations and monitoring by the authorities it won't take much before you're found. Casinos are not free as it were decades ago.
284  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be cautious of your P2P trading in Bybit on: July 07, 2024, 08:55:41 AM
Please when carry out a p2p transaction in bybit, always check reviews and numbers of transactions of the vendor in other to verify his operations and worthiness.
This completely eliminate chances of any new vendor, possibly from another exchanged having to register and create a name for themselves on a new exchange.
Making your safety a priority should be supreme to you first before any other consideration. It's me saying don't in the verge of trying to be nice to give a chance to upcoming new vendors and open yourself vulnerable to scam. If a trader's p2p percentage isn't from 95% upwards I just don't trade with that trader. It's a rule just to making sure I don't risk my coins or having to go through the huddles and processes of writing appeal to the exchange.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers➡Group Stage➡1/8➡QF➡HF➡FINAL on: July 07, 2024, 07:05:16 AM
England vs Switzerland will be the first action of the day. England were one of the favorites of this tournament before the tournament but they didn't perform well in the tournament. I think they were below expectations. Southgate is criticized a lot. I think there is justified criticism against him. Because they have a very good squad. But they cannot show a performance equivalent to this squad. On the other hand, Murat Yakın and Switzerland are one of the best teams in the tournament. I expect them to surprise England in this match. But I will bet on both teams to score.
England favorite? Hmmm for me that's too way off because from the start of this competition I have always known that england were going to be one of the struggling ones and this is because they have never been convincing in their style of play, I don't know how they have managed to even squeeze their selves to this round but what I do know is that Switzerland is certainly a big and major threat for them.
How England have managed to walk through into the semifinals stage is truly unbelievable if we are to juxtaposition them with their performance in every of the games they have played so far. Maybe they just haven't met with the team that will really unclad them to their underperformance with shocking scores of defeat.

Not that England don't have the talented players for them to be in frontline of this tournament as potential winner but it all seems that there is a large gap of connection and coordination between the players on the pitch. And Southgate hasn't been making the game any better with his choice of starting X1, Cole Palmer still not starting in today's match despite how the young lad has been so effective coming from bench. I think Southgate needs to understand he's playing with a Switzerland team that dissembled the Italian team defense just within the first 45 minutes of official playing time which is why I had expected he was going to do things differently starting with his first X1.
This is the worst and most boring match in the quarter finals as there was no shot on target by both teams and their goalkeeper didn't have any ball to save but just relaxing because of weak strikers. England as usu took dominaceof the first half but they couldn't create a better chance of finding the back of the net. Switzerland was on the defensive side because they are being careful and don't want to make any mistakes because England is in charge of the midfield. I don't know what will be the outcome of the second half and I hope that it will be interesting.
The second half of the game came up lively with much dynamic changes and brilliant performance from both sides. And despite that Switzerland eventual loss to England, I truly admire their zeal and fighting strength to not losing out cheaply to England. Fast-forward to the penalty shootouts, unbelievable how Palmer was one chosen to first take the penalty in a squad he's always made to come from the bench, tells a lot how Southgate believes so much in his confidence and talent at taking penalty kicks. Congrats to England sail through to the semi's.

287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The benefits of Gambling on: July 06, 2024, 11:12:23 AM
Most of the topics we read are mostly mentioning about the negative side of gambling but I think we also discuss the positives of it...

1. Socialization
2. Income Generation
3. Employment
4. Support to the Gambling Industry
There are enterprises that different persons are involve in that as a result of a high rate of abuse in their engagement with such interest it makes those outside to have a nasty view and only negative conclusions about such activity whenever the topic is raised, and sadly gambling have been found amidst them.

If a fundamental proportion of the persons gambling in the society could be discipline enough to gamble responsibly, keeping to the rules of responsible gambling without lurking those vices associated with why gambling is said to be bad then may be society would start talking about the positive side of gambling as much as they talk the negatives.

For income generation am indifferent about that view... Just as one member said in the first page, the gambling houses makes the income not really the gamblers.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Work Now May Not Work Tomorrow on: July 06, 2024, 10:49:28 AM
I always tell and advise my friends who are new to gambling to never look for a pattern in luck-based games because there is none even the ever-popular martingale is not a guarantee that you can find a pattern that will give you a continuous win.
There is no pattern to attracting luck in gambling, if there was a pattern, it would have been exploited long ago by old time gamblers who have been playing luck based games. It is superstition to believe that there is a way to attract luck.

If you a new gambler believe that you have observed a pattern and then go ahead to stake a huge amount of money considering that pattern you think you have discovered, you will be hit with disappointment when you lose all your money.
When people newly get into anything they will always want to have that mindset that they can or want to do things in their own way believing they could make a pathway different from what has been existing. But all of that would depend on what they are venturing into, for gambling, it's a no way. If it's by just skills and patterns that makes gamblers earn wins with their gambling then a lot of gamblers would have taking gambling as a career just as people do with trading. But because luck plays a dominant role making patterns helpless with addition to the house edge.

When we meet people that are ardent about patterns working constantly for them, as an old gambler it's better not to get into arguments with their low flaw view, just let them go on with it, the outcome will teach them much better than you arguing and trying to convince them about it.

N/B: It's important to gamble with some strategy but it doesn't guarantee a constant success should in case it worked the first and second times of use. Just enjoy it while it lasts.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers➡Group Stage➡1/8➡QF➡HF➡FINAL on: July 05, 2024, 04:55:39 PM
An end to an interesting first half of Spain vs Germany. Both teams not taking this game for granted with no sides not been able to taken control of the game yet in the first 45 minutes. It's really a crucial quarter finals affair. Am impressed with both teams hunger and desire to making sure they advanced to the next round as they are both respective of each other, attacking in a manner that they don't leave their back behind or exposed.

I observe the Germans playing with a bit of offensiveness and I think it's a strategy to keep the Spanish team unstable on the pitch but not sure that is working out for them as Spain has had more shots on target than the German side... I hope it doesn't get to penalty kicks at last.
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, to quit when winning or to quit when losing? on: July 05, 2024, 03:50:50 PM
Suppose our bankroll is $100 and it has already grown to $500, would you quit or continue? Conversely, if with our bankroll, we are down to $10, would you still continue or save the remaining $10?
If I made it to $500, I will cash out the $400 and gamble back the remaining $100.

If my bankroll goes to $10, I will gamble until empty, I will not cash out the money below of my bankroll.

I think my strategy is good because you don't have to completely stop when you win and you don't need to think how much money you should stop when you're in lose.

Don't make it complicated since gambling is for fun, you know.
Your strategy doesn't place you in a losing position of your money though, which is somehow cool, but it's still not entirely good to me. And here is why. That you have taken a $400 profit from the $500 won and left with $100 doesn't make it a great choice to empty the account.

What I think is that,   since it's obvious you are now having  losing sessions  quiting in the middle leaving some cash in the account would be something you'll later appreciate when you return the next to gamble and find some little money to start the fun with again without having to make a fresh deposit. And if you're to start with a lucky star you probably double the money with a win from the first stake.
Even if we all gambling for fun, it should be a calculated one. Don't you think so?
291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copa America 2024 Prediction Thread on: July 05, 2024, 03:00:43 PM
After Argentina's difficult qualification, I hope you realize that South American teams have improved a lot in recent years, and that Argentina isn't so much better than Brazil, because there are also days when it plays very badly
Yesterday was one of those days, Argentina played VERY badly, Messi played badly and Ecuador played a better game, missing more chances to score
But the Argentinian team's experience made the difference yesterday, managing to hold off the Ecuadorian team and qualify through penalty kicks

If Argentina play like that against Colombia or Brazil, they won't be champions, but yesterday's game can serve as a lesson to improve for the next match
I actually not watching the Copa America tournament due to the time-zone difference, it's always midnight over here with every fixtures but have been following up with the highlights of the games and I can agree with you that a notable improvement has been made so far, and among the competing teams unlike when we use to see Argentina and Brazil largely dominating the whole game making the tournament appear less competitive and challenging to viewers perspective.

Couldn't be more than proud of Ecuador for that strong challenge. Yesterday's experience from Ecuador am sure Argentina wasn't expecting they would find themselves lurking on defensive game against Ecuador. Imo, Ecuador's top 9 wasn't just adequate to the task of putting in the ball behind the Argentines net, else the game wouldn't have gone into penalty shootouts... For Dibu Martinez he's a good goalie at penalty saves and no wonder why Argentina in their poor performance had to make sure they send the game to a shootouts which did end their favour.

Chelsea has finally complete a deal with Leicester City in the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for £30million. Seems Chelsea new manager is really taking the transfer window initiative very serious with the number of completed signings the club has completed lately with rumours of others under the tunnel.

For the record this is one fabulous signing for Chelsea so far, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is an outstanding left footed midfielder with admirable performance in the previous season at Leicester scoring 12 goals with 14 assists.  A one time Europa Conference League team player of the  2021/22 season, and with the Blues participating in the conference league next season it makes him a more perfect signing for the blues.

295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election on: July 03, 2024, 05:12:31 PM
I'd state it the other way round, its entirely necessary there is opposition to a candidate to ensure the best person is chosen for the job.  To blindly go with Biden because he has the numbers already would be a weakness to do so, it also makes the Republican victory more likely at that point.  Untested strength is a vulnerability seems a fair conclusion imo, the process is this way for a reason and part of it is discovery via discussion and votes shifting along the way.  Biden himself was not great in the polls originally, I didn't think he'd end up running personally.
So what do you expect from Trump if he does win the election? Will he really change his attitude towards crypto? I don't think that will be the case. On the contrary, he will say that this is a surrogate analogue of money and will begin to put pressure on this direction. Personally, I have the same thoughts on this matter. I stopped believing the words of politicians. They talk and lie too much. They do everything just to get the post.

It's all a matter of narrative, if the narrative is in favor of bitcoin, trump and biden will be... It's all a political maneuver to try to capture as many voters as possible. Never believe politicians, they play politics, politicking is falsehood in favor of private interests.
It's a common sense that politicians shouldn't be trusted by their words especially when they are running for a position they will stop at nothing in promising and showing support on issues and matters that could drive an increase of polls in their side. But if we are to choose between Joe Biden and Donald Trump as only option who do we think could remember to deliver on their promises when eventually got elected. And also going by their past activities and policy action towards cryptocurrency as a criteria it should be easy for voter's to know where their votes should be directed to, democrat or republican.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: Money doesn't guarantee happiness. on: July 03, 2024, 04:25:31 PM
I  If money could guarantee someone peace of mind, then the man in person would've spent half of what he's acquired to find peace but what we was going through was beyond his wealth, and he's a prove that one can have all the billions and still not get peace or happiness. I might be wrong though but what's your opinion?

https://twitter.com/NigeriaStories/status/1806079250367160676?t=J5L6ELum5DCe2TJDHeo-pw&s=19
Even if i agree with your opinion that money or wealth do not guarantee happiness I'll still want to be wealthy first then I can later deal with that part of the happiness it doesn't guarantee. Grin No amount of motivational speech should make you settle for less or comfortable being poor under the auspices of enjoying happiness.

Money bring us closer to the things, people, places and achievements in life that brings happiness to humans. It may not guarantee but it's a quintessence to be happy about life. How do you feel, if your kids come to you asking to go see a movie at the cinema on a weekend, because their classmates in school couldn't stop talking about it to them about how their own dad had planned on taking them to the cinema but, you can't afford it because there's no money?

It all depends on the position every wealthy man finds himself, for the case of the KONGA CEO after reading through his story, I discovered he lost hope and faith from everything about his marital life and family. A situation he could have been patient with for what the future can be.
297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Make Money in Crypto and not lose it as beginner on: July 03, 2024, 03:58:33 PM

1. Knowledge First:
This is foundational. If you don't have this you are liable to fall to scam. You need to learn about wallet, exchanges, dexes, and conviction and patience.
So true, these are the first steps any person interested in building investment in crypto should start with before pulling in a cent into it. It amazes me when I get in contact with some new crypto enthusiasts who can't differentiate the difference between a cold wallet and hot wallet and which is best for use in terms of high security .. To them they are wallets for cryptocurrency.

Quote

2. Spot Trading :
This is a tangible skill that differentiate you from another person. With this you know how to make money trading. But ensure you stay away from futures trading. Use spot trading to start.
I think I will still recommend at the beginning for a new trader to perfect their strategies using demo trading before going life with spot trading. Moving straight to spot trading would mean that you'll be losing while trying to perfect and understand your strategy avoiding jumping out of trade in loss due to a lack of confidence on your strategy.

Quote

3. Airdrop Farming:
This is a low risk way to make money in crypto. Learn the popular airdrop in crypto space. Currently Telegram mini app farming is what is reigning.
Am not just comfortable with airdrops due to their associated risks though people do make money from them despite their risks. To stay safe with airdrops connect with burner-wallets. Burner wallet is a wallet you don't use for other transactions or don't keep money in.

Yea, patterns repeat itself, trends never cease from repeating but the question the trader has to solve to be in profit is when does the trend has to actually repeat... Cause that's where your analysis comes in, you've to analyze to know not to take a wrong trading position because fake-outs are there to test your psychology. Simply put, market history do repeat but the challenge lies on the trader to get an accuracy of the timing either through technical or fundamental analysis of the market.
