281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitNet-Anonymous P2P Domain System|1ST Chat & AES|Free coin|Singing Contest on: October 26, 2014, 10:33:23 PM
I just read a lot about bitnet, of course not every comment... Sadly I am a bit late. Are there some ways to obtain VPNCoin?

But my biggest question is: As Bitnet provides a pulic VPN between the users, if someone uses my proxy connection and downloads some illegal stuff, in my country I am responsible for that. So in the worst case I would be thrown in jail for someone else downloading illegal things. Or did I get something wrong?

I'm in the same boat mate. I think just by running the wallet they are distributed, but like you I'm unsure on the legality of it all if someone access something using my IP.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts about legality.
And because of that and some other reasons it would be nice to have a client that does not automatically change windows settings to pass every internet connection through the VPN. Instead it would be nice to just configure your browser to use the vpn connection to Bitnet without changing all windows settings every time I start a connection to Bitnet. I have a lot of software that I do not want to pass through the VPN.

Spot on guys !
NEVER allow others to use your ip if you can into trouble with the law !!

To prevent others to use your ip make make sure you have following settings disabled :
-start vpn service
-start p2p proxy

Here is a quick user guide :

502 error is just that what it says, site off line or the node that host the site is not connected to your client.

In BitNet settings, tab "all nodes" you can check if you are connected with the right node, check for nickname "BitNetTalk.com".
Also have a look for "dice.com", "www.game.com", and check if you can load these sites.
If you can, then BitNetTalk.com is off line.

In BitNet settings, tab "settings" you can enable all you see in "normal" settings.
However in "service" settings ONLY enable :
-open p2p Domain Name System
-start http service
-start https service

Make sure you have following settings disabled :
-start vpn service
-start p2p proxy

If not present, add the following in the text box just above "start p2p proxy" and "work threads" :
localhost;127.0.0.1

Hit "SAVE" when done !

Following ports should be forwarded :

920 - TCP
922 - TCP/UDP
923 - TCP/UDP

Read your manual how to configure your modem/router !

Has the block explorer been updated? I'm not sure if my updated client has managed to resolve the fork and hop onto the correct chain, or both the block explorer and my client are on the "old" fork.

Looks good Grin
Can you post url of block exporer on OP ?

Good ideas.
Do we have a source code ?
If not any dev would have to start from scratch or clone a suitable client.
Thats a tall order.

i know why no one exchange add this coin.
total coin 1 billion premine
dev hold 400 million, still 600 million for distribution.
now distributed coin about 20 million or less. and now distribution stopped.
you should increase amount of distribution until 600 million distributed.
if no, no one exchange will add.

is this true?
Does anyone knows fow how many BTC in total were received by these auctions ?

let the dev to explain about it

https://blockchain.info/address/1CUiLwxY4xfQeiSXzuiPJDQLzb4FvnodJj

Total 8000 shares.

400 shares in auctoins

200 shares have been bought.

Who buy 1 share will be distributed 500k vpncoins.

Thanks.
How many BTC in total were received ?
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SignatureCoin (SIGN) | ANONYMOUS | X11 | Free Signature Distributions! on: October 24, 2014, 01:31:56 AM
What's going on here! SIGN coin is delisted in C-cex?? Why?
How long will exchange? @Dev, where are you?  Angry

The site says SIGN coin will be removed on October 27th if no trading has occurred.

But I can still see trading there  Huh although price is unreasonably low now.

Don't be upset as C-CEX is not a good exchange anyway. This SIGN community is not small, why no one even thinks of trying to list on a better exchange?

the dev has gone ,and he dumped all his coin in C-CEX,
no one do the promotion ,just for the free coins.

Are you sure the dev dumped all his coins on C-CEX? If it is really the case, it may be a good time someone to takeover this coin.

I just want to say, with this size of community it won't be difficult for SIGN to get listed on an exchange much better than C-CEX.

If is there someone who want to continue SIGN coin work but 1st we need Dev to respond, I'm sure he is reading this but he need to say officially something about this. If he expected something else than this, it's OK just let us know. It's not a big deal to say look, I expected something else or I don't have time or I don't like this any more... or anything, just we need some answer so we know where we are
In case you haven't noticed, the dev in the beginning was very active posting and sharing info.
The last couple of post were the opposite, I think someone else posted these messages.
If you look at the trading charts you will see a typical graph of pump and dump.
They got what they wanted made some cash and left the building...

I doubt they make some cache because whole trading amount was so low and never reach 1 BTC overall or even less.
Yes, I would have to agree, but in some countrys 1 BTC is about 1 month of hard work.
Anyway, without proper information there is nothing we can do, except learn and move on...

Can someone post a shot off settings for set a node? or even better, how set a node? XD

Don't need other settings,we are in optimization algorithm now, please be patient Kiss

are you already considering what the symbol if added on exchange?
maybe XPN or BITVPN can be considered
I would like to suggest BitNetCoin.
Ticker BNC or XBNC.

i think the name with ''BIT or X has good impact
Well, Somare and VPNCoin said something of dropping VPN coin and changed the name of this thread.
So BitNetCoin or BNC would make sense, not sure how catchy it is though...
Also bit is used as unit for BTC and other things like bits and bytes.
Anyway, best to ask ppl who are native English speakers, they know what works best.
In general it should sound nice and catchy in English that is and make sense as well.
ABC, CNC, NBC, CNN, BTC, etc.

Thanks,  that seems to have worked. I am now seeing bitnettalk (although it times out on load at least its trying) the other sites were listed (game, dice, just hadn't tried them)
I am seeing about 20 nodes at present. Lag seems to be an issue on this side of the world.
At least it seems operational; thanks for the assist! I will keep testing.

edit:  I am in!  eh.
Good !  Grin
If node count stay low, check your port forwarding.

win8 IE,  I use FF and Chrome for other stuff, I configured IE for the proxy settings described in this thread,
I see nodes in the "all nodes" tab,  nothing in the "vpn client" tab and everything is checked in the "settings" tab.
edit:
IE proxy settings are
127.0.0.1 923
127.0.0.1 923
*.local
Wallet works and syncs, received 11 VPN via twitter i think.
 Thanks!

Thats on WinXP.

Open your wallet and then on your browser go to www.bitnettalk.com  Grin

Is that website on BitNet P2P Domain System ?
Yes its on BitNet.
1st start your wallet then you should be able to connect.
the same question,it shows a error when i click the little house !
After start of wallet check and verify that windows connection is set to use proxy.
Go to iexplorer -> internet options -> connections -> LAN settings -> enable proxy settings -> advanced.
You should see the folowing proxy settings :

http             :127.0.0.1, port :923
https/secure  :127.0.0.1, port :923

Do not use proxy for :
localhost;127.0.0.1

Any program that relys on win connection is affected by these !
For win connections these settings are done by your wallet.
If you use a different browsers you must add these settings yourself, check preferences/settings -> LAN connections.

Keep in mind that forum is sometimes off line or too slow.

-iexplorer, ok.
-chrome, ok.
-webkit, ok.

Firefox and clones give problems with replying and logging in.
Anyone else have problems ?
Please post feedback so site manager can fix problems !
