281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your top mistakes in crypto - learning from others experiences! on: May 10, 2024, 05:27:01 PM
My first mistake in the crypto space was when I created my first wallet, and some Bitcoin were being sent to it, after many months when I wanted to send some to another wallet, that was when I realized that I've misplaced my passwords. It was because I casually created the wallet that I didn't remember the password, I saw where I wrote the seed phrase on a different paper, and when I imported the wallet, it kept telling me that I misspelled a word. I tried different combinations to change the words of the seed phrase, but it didn't work, so I got frustrated and abandoned it, my Bitcoin is still in that coinomi wallet till date. A big price to pay for my ignorance in my newbie days.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling BTC for Alt Coins? on: May 10, 2024, 04:10:35 PM
Only do it if you are satisfied or have reached the predetermined target point for your investment profits. My question is, do you believe that switching to altcoins can change your life for the better? Very careful consideration is needed to determine a decision

Yes, perhaps if he is satisfied with the ROI that he has gained so far from his Bitcoin investment, then he should by all means diversify it into any altcoin that he feels will give him the kind of profits that he desired on the short term. But seeing as we're entering bull run, I think that this is still a good time to keep accumulating Bitcoin, instead of selling it, because unlike altcoins that are risky to invest in because of many scam projects, Bitcoin is guaranteed to give you massive or reasonable ROI in the peak of bull run. Let the OP carry out a thorough research on the project of his choice before buying, so that he doesn't lose his money in a shitcoin
283  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: OKX has stopped its p2p service for Nigerian customers on: May 10, 2024, 02:26:09 PM

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Meme Coins still Catch Up With The Likes of Doge and Shib? on: May 10, 2024, 12:59:46 PM
After the early memecoins, other coins have been emerged and most of them are dead, some are struggling while some are doing well. Dogecoin has been on the system for a long time so if it is catching up to the peak then it deserves it. It is one of the memecoins that is good to be invested because it promising future. But Dogecoin has not reached $1 yet but there is hope and the end of the tunnel. There will no memecoin that will overtake Doge for now.
After dogecoin, then Shiba Inu, I don't think that there's any other memecoins that have made so much impact and popularity like them, and the reason could be because of the uncountable influxes of new meme projects. Perhaps if there are not so many of them, one would've made it to the very top because investors wouldn't have too many to choose from, another reason why we might've not seen a new meme to match the top two is because most of them end up dead, which is a discouraging factor for investors.
285  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is all wealth? on: May 10, 2024, 11:58:23 AM
My wife always tells me that after God, that the next thing is money, and I agree with her to a large extent, because in this day and age without money you're nothing, that's a fact. As far as I know, it's only air and rain that are free in this world, and the two cannot sustain anybody to be alive, you need food, shelter, clothing that are not free, except you're living in the judge, then you won't pay for these basic needs, you need to consider your health, if your not living in a conducive environment. You can't live a quality life without money, and you can't get respect in most places without money.

However I still believe that happiness is a choice, having all the money in the world doesn't guarantee peace of mind, a person must choose to be happy no matter their financial capabilities, because the rich also cries. Human beings are created to adapt, so rich or poor we have the abilities to decide to have inner peace and hope for a better life. But being so impoverished that a person does not have money to afford food and shelter, then it's too bad.
286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before Trading Bitcoin you should... on: May 10, 2024, 10:41:08 AM
It's only on social media that someone will come and tell you that you can stay in the comfort of your home and be making a lot of money everyday trading crypto, but any experienced crypto traders will tell you that it's not entirely true. The truth is that crypto trading is hard and not a get rich quick scheme, because there are chances that you can lose all your funds, that is why it's important not to rely on it as a sole source of income. It's important to have a job at hand before entering crypto trading, so any money made will be a plus to your steady income, and every newbie needs to understand that it's better to trade with the amount that you can afford to loose.
287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do we really plant trees? on: May 10, 2024, 09:25:10 AM
From my primary school days, I've been hearing about the importance of planting trees, then we didn't even know about global warming, it was for giving us oxygen and we give them carbon monoxide, also for beautification and forestation. Now we have a more important reason to plant tree now, because of this global warming threats to our climate, it has now become a matter of survival for us to plant trees, to prevent impending disasters ahead. But the problem to planting trees is the high concentration of people in the congested urban areas, even if they want to plant trees, there's hardly any space to do so, besides most landlords will not allow any tenant to use their limited space for tree planting. If anybody have space to plant trees in their environment, they should not hesitate to do so.
288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the importance of this non_ custodial wallet? on: May 10, 2024, 08:38:24 AM
One of the first things that I learned in this forum when I joined as a newbie, was not to leave my coins in exchanges, that it's not safe, because they can go bankrupt or be hacked at anytime, so the best place to leave your coins is in a none custodial wallet. Not your keys not your coins is a popular phrase in this forum, and any experienced member that falls victim of any exchange that went down, then they have themselves to blame for their loses. With none wallets, you are the custodian of your wallet.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Render - overrated coin? on: May 10, 2024, 07:33:30 AM
People are expecting it to rise to 100€

Expectations always differ from the reality, and don't ever go investing based on the predictions because the same person will turn their opinion completely so it's your decision to what to do with your money. As looking at the price chart, it is kind of overvalued since it ATH is same value as the current trading value so I will wait for a while to predict how market behaves based on the bitcoin's movement.
This Render coin seems to be a genuine project, and I think that it's safe to invest in it, however I also think that it's overvalued because seeing and taking into consideration the facts that you mentioned, I think that it'll be safe to wait for a while, hopefully for a price dip, before investing in it. Remember that this is altcoin, and predictions can turn out favorable to your expectations or it might not, so don't put all your trust in other people's speculations, do your own research and invest what you can afford to loose.
290  Economy / Economics / Re: If you want to be wealthy you need action on: May 09, 2024, 05:54:50 PM
On the road to success you cannot underestimate learning from other people's experiences that have already gone through the business path that you want to take, otherwise you can make costly mistakes that you would've avoided if you've learned from their experiences. But I can agree that after learning from them that you should be the one to decide your own part, what you've learned from other experienced people will serve as a guide to you, so you can have a clearer vision from different perspectives. It's good to learn from your own personal, but we can not discard the experiences of successful people

292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What I experienced since the past two days now on: May 09, 2024, 04:00:14 PM
In this era of internet, trust has become a scarce commodity, because online activities are not done physically, so there's no way of knowing what your friends are really doing while holding their smart phones or staring at their computers, what you know is what they tell you. So we should really be careful how we trust people that we call our friends because they could have skeletons in their cupboards that we're not aware of, like the friend in the OP.

Personally I'm very careful about the people that I discuss my Bitcoin investment with, because I've heard the story where a guy told his friends about the value of Bitcoin that he had, that same day armed robbers visited him, they probably forced him to give them his seed phrase, I don't know.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Coins to buy - good selection? on: May 09, 2024, 02:50:50 PM
I finally made my investment 25% glmr, 25% rndr, 25% near and 25% shiba without any Solana

It's your money, therefore it's your investment choice, as you've decided to give them equal staking shows that you perhaps have the same trust ratings for all of them. Although I wonder why Solana, didn't make your list, I might be wrong but I think that it's the most reputable crypto coin among the ones that you listed in the OP. I hope that you have Bitcoin investment, if not, you can use a reasonable percentage of your capital to buy it as we're entering bull season, it's the surest crypto that you can rely on.
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and global tensions! on: May 09, 2024, 12:06:30 PM
Knowledge is power and the informed individuals makes better decisions than ignorant people, so those who panic and sale their Bitcoin, when there's a crisis anywhere in the world and it affects price, are just ignorant of how Bitcoin works. Any investor that has the knowledge of bull and bear seasons in Bitcoin, will not worry when it's price begins to dip, instead they'll see it as an opportunity to accumulate more, if they have the money, because price will eventually have a correction and pump will begin. The best mindset for anybody that wants to invest in Bitcoin, is to think long term, not to worry about price volatility and speculations on the short term, because from research bull run will surely come and price will always reach new ATH.
295  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada’s Orwellian new law proposal to jail for hate speech on: May 09, 2024, 11:26:24 AM
I feel very sad anytime that I hear about any supposed developed countries that are supposed to be practicing true democracy, going against somethings that defines what democracy should be. It's only in countries where they have dictators as leaders and in third world countries, that we see things like oppression of freedom of speech as normal, not developed countries that people in these oppressed countries will use as reference for respect of human rights and freedom of speech. So now people in Canada, will likely not openly criticize their government, if they see what they don't like, and I wonder if their media will be allowed to air their views without fear of offending the leadership of their government. The development is very disappointing
296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a newbie make investment before learning? on: May 09, 2024, 10:25:00 AM
As on my own opinion alot of newbies have fallen in to hand of scammers because of their insufficient knowledge about Bitcoin so therefore it take a high risk to make an investment when you yet to understand the Bitcoin investment to avoid been scammed of your hard earnings
Take your time learn and implement before you inter market or make any investment as a newbie
You asked a question in the subject and you answered it in the content, I think that you should've either concentrated on a question topic or an advisory topic.

Anyways, going into any investments without first learning atleast the basics of the business will be a very big mistake, whether it's crypto or not, because you can make avoidable mistakes that will cost you so many loses. Many newbies come into the crypto space seeking to make quick money, and they're introduced to shitcoins by either hypes on social media or by ignorant friends, in the end they'll lose all their investment funds, then they'll say that the crypto space is a total scam. Even investment in Bitcoin that is the most reputable cryptocurrency, you still need to understand basic things like the volatile market and know how to protect your wallet seed phrase.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in stocks with crypto? on: May 09, 2024, 09:44:46 AM
Is there a way to invest directly in stocks with crypto? I'm talking about depositing BTC or any altcoin in a broker/exchange and use the funds to buy a stock of your choice. With crypto getting popular each day, it would be disappointing if we didn't have such a feature. It's likely stocks will be tokenized on the Blockchain the future.

If you know of any broker/service/exchange that allows this, please let me know. Thanks. Smiley
As for your query, what difference does that make? After all, if you deposit your Bitcoin in such a regard, it's not that they will credit you in Bitcoin, they will rather credit you in USD and other hard currencies. Why not use your fiat when you can easily convert your Bitcoin to fiat yourself?  Also, I advise you that you should not due to looking for such a service and become a victim of a fraudulent service, be warned. And if you must do a thing like this, you might want to use one of the good traditional FX brokers offering stock services too, the common ones like HFM. Just know the cost and weigh your risk.
I reason with what you said, if investing in stocks with crypto is a viable option or will be a profitable venture, I believe that some crypto developers would have created something for it, so I guess that it's not a very good business reasoning and that is why something like that is not popular yet. I'll rather use fiat to buy stock through a certified stockbroker, to avoid being a victim of scammers, then I'll just go on and hodl my Bitcoin, as we're entering bull run.

299  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: My brothers and sisters, why are we buying Dogs and Cats alternative crypto. on: May 08, 2024, 05:23:17 PM
I reason your question, and I believe say di reason wey many people take de buy dis memecoins wey you de call cats and dogs na because of quick profits, many people ready to gamble dem funds for a chance to gain plenty profit on the short term, but di reality be say most of di dev. teams of dos projects na scam dem carry for mind. No be everybody get dat patience to de hodl Bitcoin on di long term, de wait until bull run go come before dem begin to see plenty profit, so na man die once be dem way,  either say make dem profit or lose dem money.

Me personally i no get di risk absorber to buy all dis risky altcoins, na Bitcoin, wey sure pass all of dem and na im I de focus my investment capital on, apart from di baba, na only top altcoins, wey don proof dem reputations na im I fit to take my money buy.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who's responsible for the dead coins? on: May 08, 2024, 03:05:15 PM
I think that developers and investors can be responsible for the death of a coin or token, it just depends on the angle from where the coins meets it's dead end. Most times it's from the developers end, some will have the intention of exit scam before the project is launched in an exchange, the first set of investors, including them will make profit, then when more investors starts to buy,  the project will then die. Other times if a project doesn't live up to it's hype, investors will see it as a shitcoin, and that might be the beginning of the end for it.
