281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: child board like this will help newbies so much. on: June 01, 2024, 08:41:52 AM
A new board for beginners isn't needed. This is the board they should visit. The problem is, many begin their stay here without reading any of the sticky threads and immediately start with questions. How do I buy bitcoin, what wallet should I use, which exchange do you recommend, etc. Regardless of how many new child boards the admins introduced, they would never be able to prevent that. What I would like to see, and what has been proposed in the past, is a welcome message with basic information about the forum that newbies would see after signing up. Sadly, it seems that idea was abandoned.
I think that this forum is very well planned and organized and any newbie that is serious to learn will not have any trouble doing so, we have sticky threads and if there's any areas of cryptocurrency that they don't understand, all they need to do is start a topic and ask questions. Newbies should not totally rely on this forum to learn about cryptocurrency, they should carry out research on different areas of crypto, then they can come here and either share their experience with experienced members for better clarity or ask questions on areas where they don't understand. I doubt that creating new child boards will help newbies better, we have enough materials and great minds to direct serious newbies.

I joined this forum without any crypto knowledge, i became active and learning from the discussions while also making research from what I've learned, if I don't understand anything, I simply start a thread and ask. A very big thanks to everyone on this forum, there is no hesitation to collectively finding solutions to questions raised.

A welcome message to newly registered accounts with basic information about the forum will be a welcome development as far as I'm concerned. I didn't know that something like it has been proposed in the past, hopefully it'll be implemented one day.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reflections on Responsible Gambling. Insights from the Community on: June 01, 2024, 06:24:08 AM

  • Have you become a responsible and ethical gambler, or do you still find subtle ways to increase your odds of winning?
  • What small actions have you taken to combat underage gambling in your locality or online?
  • Have you become a more financially literate and socially conscious gambler?

Looking forward to your thoughts.
I've always been a responsible gambler from the very beginning because I was privileged to have responsible gamblers who where were kind enough to tutor me about being responsible in gambling. So I never exceeds my gambling budget no matter how excited I become while gambling, this has been a guiding principle for me.

I've seen underaged gamblers in bet shops and people seems to mind their business, including the shop operators, I've spoken to a few, then I started to overlook too. You could guess that they're between 15 to 17 years, but of course you don't see like 10 or 12 years kids coming to gamble, that'll be unacceptable by any sane person. There's nothing much that we can do about underaged gamblers in online casinos, if i have suspicions then i can caution the young person about the risks of what they're engaging in.

I've always known the importance of having a budget for my expenditures, what is not in the list is not a priority. I not only gamble the amount that I can afford to loose, I never gamble more than the percentage that I have mapped out for gambling.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEER 🍻 MEMECOIN, will this narrative fly? on: May 31, 2024, 05:04:23 PM
Lol! Drinkers will bond over a pint of beer, not over a cryptocurrency. Why the hell people think that everything in life needs a separate cryptocurrency!

Drinkers and drunks may not even know such a token exists talkless of buying it. It is the developer that will be the ultimate beneficiary ad pump and dump awaits those who will buy it. These meme projects are dangerous to invert in because most of them will dump and run away. Anyone investing in them has to know it is not about cryptocurrency but about the owners of these meme tokens.
I've heard so many memecoins names than I care to remember, and here comes BEER, the name sounds thirsty, but like you I doubt that it'll attract any beer drinking community. People should not be carried away by the names of any memecoins, they should instead understand that investing in them is gamble, because there are more scam projects than legit ones, they need to research any one that they want to invest in, and invest the amount that they can afford to loose. BEER memecoin sounds good to me, being a beer lover, but I'd rather stick with top memecoins like dogecoin, Shiba Inu and pepe.
284  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be sure of your informations before posting it here. on: May 31, 2024, 01:39:43 PM
I don notice say most people out of the quest to create new topic go just go gather any information they get for social media come drop for the forum especially the Newbies. Most of them no even get legit points to back their informations whether eh legit or make sense, them go just go see anynews carry come forum, I dey very happy as them share our Naija local board into different places come give us better moderator wey dey work very hard to move posts to off-topic or  for the accurate category where they belong. Most of these Newbies no they even act as if they come here to learn, them they do like say they done know everything finish for the forum and they go just they create anyhow topic wey no go even fetch them merits. For this forum learning na constant thing, eh no matter how long eh go take you to grow just calm down they learn from other senior members so you go improve instead of to they cap or go carry informations from anywhere wey you no go fit defend properly if person through questions or counter you all in the name of creating topics.
I reason wetin you de talk, some newbies go just de create unnecessary threads take de spam di board, and I de happy say our ogas dem, like our moderator wey be Igebotz, fight hard to sanitize the board. Aldo as e be now from my observation, di spamming and unnecessary low quality posts don reduce well well, especially as we don get child boards, you go see say di topics dem for here na crypto related topics, as e suppose be.

For di matter of copy and paste topics wey most of our newbies go just see for social media, and drop for us here, wey no de meaningful, na for experienced members to enter di topic and caution dem, unto say dem lack experience for forum. If you notice a newbie account wey continue to spam di board with shitposts, na to report di account.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: May 31, 2024, 12:10:13 PM

According on your experience, it's true greed can cause a lost bet because you're looking to make huge amount of money and accept the higher risk.

But it doesn't mean if you're not greedy, you will not lose in gambling, after all gambling is pure of luck and the more you gamble, in the end you will lose.
Loses can occur in gambling, whether the gambler is greedy or not, we should understand that the higher the amount that is used to gamble, the higher the risk and if the gambler wins, the the higher the amount. People can bet with a small amount of money, meaning that they're not greedy, yet they can lose their bet, so being greedy or not doesn't really matter to me, because gambling is mostly about luck.

If a person can gamble with the amount that they can afford to loose, then they can go ahead and add more games if they want, afterall the extra one can give that mega win.
286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Adoption is Growing on: May 31, 2024, 08:18:43 AM
Definitely Crypto adoption is growing, big financial business have definitely got eyes
on crypto.

I remember a number of years ago on the forum there was a lot of talk, expectation and
speculation about paypal and mastercard adopting crypto but Bitcoin more importantly,
and now here we are its becoming more of a reality.

This two new developments are definitely big pluses for cryptocurrency adoption, it is very good when reputable financial companies identifies with cryptocurrency, it'll make more people to adopt it. I've heard about speculations whether PayPal and Mastercard, will adopt cryptocurrency, and I'm happy that today it has become reality, hopefully we will see other top companies that will step up to diversifying into the crypto market. The beauty of this is that it will be a big question mark on countries where cryptocurrency is banned and where they have unfavorable crypto restrictions, as they're seeing renowned companies like PayPal and Mastercard, adopting crypto into their businesses, it'll surely give them a rethink about their stance.
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: suspected case of football betting fraud in Italy on: May 31, 2024, 06:16:12 AM
honestly, it's hard to believe that a player from series B is capable of joining these schemes, given that in a league like Italy, playing in series B is not a bad deal, on the contrary, players from series B have a decent salary and have a chance of playing in series A, I could believe that players at lower levels than in series B were doing this type of scheme because in the lower series the salaries are very low which encourages this type of schemes, because the players want money, they come to play in the very lower series where it will be difficult for them to move up in levels to B and A, that's why if someone gives them bad ideas like betting that in the game in which he himself will play he will have a red card and during the game he commits a purposeful foul to get a red card, then he will easily join this scheme when he sees the high amount of money he will earn because it exceeds his salary
There's absolutely no reason for a player in seria B that has plans of ranking up to seria A to be involved in football betting fraud, and like you said, B is not a bad deal. If found guilty, he'll definitely ruin his chances of playing in any top league anywhere, just because of a bet fraud that cannot boost his career in anyway. I've heard that players in lower leagues usually involves in malpractices because of low renumeration, but it's definitely foolishness for someone in a higher league. If he's found guilty and faces the punishment, I hope that it'll send a serious warning to other players that are into these fraudulent acts.
288  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Comparing Crypto Strategies: US Feds and EFCC Nigeria on: May 30, 2024, 01:28:54 PM
How you go trust EFCC totally to de transparent, wen dem indict dem former chairman wey be Ibrahim Magu, say I'm de involved fo many financial crimes, infact dat dem former Oga case make me to loose faith for EFCC matter. As Nwada001, talk, di amount of Bitcoin wey EFCC don cease suppose bass di amount wey dem de declare to us, I get dis believe based on say dem get plenty corrupt officers, wey dem don catch for stealing, including dem former boss wey be Ibrahim Magu. Dem de as corrupt as di criminals wey dem de cease dis Bitcoin from, aldo I know say incorruptible officials go de among dem wey get intergity, but di corrupt ones don make us to loose trust for where di agency de. Make we just de watch and see weda dem go talk anything about di ceased Bitcoin, or dem go sweep am under di carpet.

289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 30, 2024, 10:50:14 AM
People should check the background or character of the people they entrust their money with, but unfortunately, some people are so good at hiding their character that they only get exposed when the deed is already done.

Temptation is really high for people to take a chance on gamblers, especially if they see a match that they figure out could give them a sure win.

It is true that people should check the background of the individuals that they put in sensitive financial positions, so that they will not tamper with the money that is entrusted in their care. But this can be misleading because people can change after they get into a position of authority, like the guy in the OP, I'm sure that if they had known that he will tamper with the funds that is kept in his care, he wouldn't have been in that position and to gamble with the money that is not his. Money should only be put in the trust of people with proven intergity about monetary affairs.

People are driven by greed, to the extent of using money that is not theirs to gamble, in the hope of winning and replacing the capital, that is a very ridiculous idea because gambling is risky. In gambling it's either win or lose, and the chances of losing is greater, so it'll be very irresponsible for anybody to gamble with other people's money.

I wish not to miss recording again.

Keeping records of your pushups can be very good as it tracks your success and progress and shows your strength and weakness too by and possibly how to go about it in working your way up to being better version of yourself as regards to the pushups challenge by writing them down, I never knew about this not until I joined this pushups challenge which am very much happy to a participating, Below is My newest report

100k,Tmoonz,90,10042,2024-05-30
Keeping records of pushups and workouts generally is very important, it'll help you to monitor your growth and encourage you to increase the number of workouts. Without counting the number of pushups, it can make you to become sluggish and no physical motivation to push harder. Counting and keeping records have helped me tremendously, not to be lazy, but try and beat my previous records, although it's not easy.

I'm happy that I'm able to push 10 sets in a day, compared to when I joined this energetic thread. My current pushups report, 100k,Kelward,15,628,2024-05-30
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can small countries in accepting bitcoin as legal transaction? on: May 30, 2024, 06:03:21 AM
Regardless be it a small country or big country they can make Bitcoin as legal tender but they choose not to do and the reason is they will not have control over it which the government will never agree and moreover just one random though what if whales starts manipulating Bitcoin to the core? It will disrupt the economy.Bitcoin as a legal currency would be difficult.
Any country can adopt Bitcoin, as a legal tender, whether they're big or small, but I think that there's a reason why it's not happening yet, every country wants a centralized fiat currency that their central banks can regulate. As we know Bitcoin is decentralized and countries cannot control it, so I believe that it will be very difficult for many countries to adopt it whether they're a big or small country. As you noted, what if whales decides to manipulate it, how can a country be able to regulate it to suit their economy, this will not be an easy task. I think that Bitcoin, will function better as an alternative currency, to be used in p2p transactions, and it's massive adoption can make it the top digital cash, above every fiat currencies.
292  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can anti gamblers accept cash from gamblers when they're in dire financial needs on: May 30, 2024, 05:08:07 AM

But when trouble comes, that is the best time to judge people's characters, it's then that you will know whether they practice what they preach. So I'm wondering in a scenerio where people with these anti gambling believes and mindset finds themselves in a situation where they perhaps needed to save a life urgently and what is needed is money for quick surgery. And the only person that volunteered to give the money is someone that says he/she won the money in gambling, I wonder if the anti gambling person in dire need will collect the money.

To be clear, people with anti gambling belief condone the act of gambling, not the money made from gambling itself because it’s the same money that bein earn on salary and other ways. Gambling money is not a tainted money which means you are not doing something illegal.

I believe on your situation given. It’s no brainer that an anti gambler person will borrow money from the gmblee because he have no choice and also the money being borrowed doesn’t marked as gambling money so it’s very easy to accept it even with anti gambling purposes because you are just borrowing it.
From your point of view, an anti gambler can collect money from a gambler when in dire need, even though they condemn gambling, but they don't condemn the money that is earned from it. I think that will be hypocrisy, it means that the person can as well collect money from an armed robber who is a murderer, with the mindset that it doesn't matter how he made the money, that what matters is collecting the money, afterall it's the same with money that is earned in a salary.

I think that a person can collect money from a source that they don't approve of to save a life, but they should have that slight remorseful feeling that on a normal day, they wouldn't even consider collecting money from such a person. Money earned from a source that you approve of is not the same with the money earned from a source that you don't approve off, how money is earned matters a lot.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme Coins Resembling Lotteries in the Crypto Space on: May 29, 2024, 03:14:25 PM
Meme coins should be seen as gambling. That makes you right because they are just like lotteries which you can either win or lose money. But not only meme coins but also most other altcoins. As the price of meme coins are very volatile, you can also see many altcoins having a highly volatile prices. This is the reason you should use the money that you can afford to lose on them because they can either give you good profit or fail you.
Every experienced person in the crypto space understands that investing in memecoins are risky because you're gambling your funds by doing so, and be ready to accept whatever outcome that the project brings, whether profit or lose. It's true that you can liken them to lotteries and Ponzi schemes, because you can make a lucky pick and it'll be profitable for you, while some are scam projects from the inception, they'll launch and when the dev. team has accumulated enough of investors funds, they exit the project and it'll be dead.

The best approach for memecoins is to research and make a choice, it could become the next dogecoin and Shiba Inu, or end up as one of the uncountable shitcoins, so always invest the amount that you can afford to loose.
294  Other / Off-topic / Can anti gamblers accept cash from gamblers when they're in dire financial needs on: May 29, 2024, 11:32:24 AM
I've heard and seen people that condemns gambling, due to their religious believes, some because they think that gamblers are irresponsible people, while others are what they've heard about gambling addicts. This sets of people will tell you that gambling is sin, gamblers are people who wants to take shortcuts to riches and gamblers are not responsible or to be trusted with money.

The morale in this story is that people that condemns gambling should not judge, because it's not a crime to gamble. Although we have irresponsible gamblers, but then there are irresponsible people in every areas of life. So what do you think about the people that condemns gambling?
295  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What is the situation of Cryptocurrency in Nigeria? on: May 29, 2024, 09:49:11 AM
Nigerian government just like other governments want to de know and control cryptocurrency transactions, unto say crypto like Bitcoin, de decentralized, meaning say criminals dem fit to de launder money through am. Dat na why countries get different restrictions, unfavorable regulations while some countries na outright ban.

Di situation of cryptocurrency inside Nigeria, na peculiar case because our government de take crypto matter de cover for dem incompetent leadership. Dem de find ways to strengthen di naira, instead to face di matter from di root and improve our infrastructures, make di country not to depend on importation, instead na crypto matter dem come face, like say na im be di problem of Nigeria. After dem sanction Binance, and come disable naira p2p for reputable exchanges, how e don take help di naira to appreciate? Cost of goods and services for di country just de increase everyday and di poor de get poorer. No matter wetin dem do, cryptocurrency, don come to stay for naija, so e de better say make dem make Nigeria, a crypto friendly country, to benefit a lot of our citizens dem wey de earn money from cryptocurrency.
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't advice anyone to invest on Bitcoin if he doesn't have Alt. income on: May 29, 2024, 07:49:02 AM
Without income there's no way that anybody can do Bitcoin investment, because it takes money to convert to Bitcoin and hodle, and having atleast one steady source of income is important to be able to do DCA method. I've encountered a couple of unemployment youths who are looking for online jobs where they can make money, they'd ask my opinion about the potentials of making money in cryptocurrency, and I'd tell them that cryptocurrency is about trading and investments, that you need money to engage in either of them, so they're not a job for the unemployed.

The OP did the right thing by advising his cousin to invest in Bitcoin, when he had a steady income, when the cousin became broke and remembered Bitcoin, I think that the OP still did the right thing by letting him to understand that Bitcoin, is not a get rich quick scheme, he needs money to invest on the long term before he'll start to see ROI.
297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did/do you handled a gambling addict story. on: May 29, 2024, 06:04:30 AM
Are gambling addicts really that open to talking to people? I have only been reading about gambling addicts stories online and have not come across any one that comes out to talk to me in the open; even the guys whom I suspect to be addicted to gambling don't even admit to it, talk more about sharing their pains with me.

If any comes to me, I will definitely still reciprocate the same advice that I share here on the forum with the person: either they seek professional help or he should embrace his family more, as they are the only ones that can render him the help he needs and distract him from the addiction a bit.
I've personally never had any gambling addict open up to me about what they're going through but I've heard about the ones that have opened up to other people, so I guess that it's not very common for addicts to open up about their addictions. I feel that most of them are found out through their financial recklessness, I've heard about people who used the money that was meant for important projects or expenditures to gamble, and were found out after family or friends began to investigate and interrogate the gambling addicts.

I've heard about the story of a gambling addict who dropped out of school because he gambled with the tuition fee that was sent to him by his struggling parents. He didn't stop there, after dropping out of school, the irresponsible gambler kept collecting more tuition fees from his parents, who still thought that he was in school, this kept on until his parents got information that there son was no longer in school. I agree with you that these addicts needs professional help, love and emotional support from their families to see them through.
298  Economy / Economics / Re: How Do You Store Value to Offset Inflation? on: May 28, 2024, 03:02:10 PM

Personally, I've been exploring a few options, including:

Cryptocurrencies、Precious Metals、Real Estate、Stocks and Bond、Commodities。
What about you? How are you managing your investments to combat inflation? Do you think Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are effective in this regard? I'd love to hear your thoughts and any strategies that have worked for you.
Diversifying money into investments is the best decision that anybody can make in an economy that is experiencing inflation, and the type of investment depends on the amount of money that you have. My number one investment is Bitcoin, because it's a valuable asset and a person can start it's investment with a small amount, even while working, you can do DCA method and grow your investment fund, which will keep multiplying your ROI on the long term. My second option that I'm still working on is real estate, this is also an asset that it's price keeps increasing in value, I plan to sale some of my Bitcoin, in the near future and diversify it into real estate.

Money in the bank, during inflation is ignorance on the part of an account holder, because the more the fiat currency is devaluing, the more the value of the money in the bank is depreciating. I strongly recommend Bitcoin, investment, not shitcoin cryptocurrencies.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's impossible to copy Bitcoin, and the price will always rise because on: May 28, 2024, 10:03:55 AM
It's not impossible to copy bitcoin, in a technical sense though. There have been a lot of bitcoin forks over the years but in terms of popularity, value, and utility, they're not going to get close anytime soon. Bitcoin is unique and it would be a big disservice for everyone here to say that someone can just copy it and recreate the success. Your loop seems to be on the right but I got to tell you though, I don't think that it matters, once there's people that have bought bitcoin with their own money, it's already done, bitcoin has a value. Also regarding the rise in prices, it will always be like that because there's always a demand for bitcoin and there's not a lot of people that know about bitcoin and eventually those people will know and some of them will try to invest and they will contribute to the increase of demand which increase the price of bitcoin even more.
The key word is that Bitcoin, is unique, and no other cryptocurrency comes near it because of it's value, popularity and utility, like you rightly said, therefore it's in a higher class of it's own. And inasmuch as there's always a demand for it, the price will continue to increase in the future, this is necessitated because over the years Bitcoin, has proven to be a store of value, an asset that if held on a long term, will always increase returns on investment for it's holders. Except for a few top altcoins, most of the projects in the category are scams, this is why making comparison in cryptocurrency, it'll be like choosing between Bitcoin and altcoins, obviously Bitcoin, will always carry the day, because of the trust and profitability that it has built over the years.
300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake curse strikes again, rapper loses on Fury, Usyk bet on: May 28, 2024, 07:51:55 AM
Here we are worrying about an unlucky gambler, if him Drake, is not too worried about his loses, then I don't think that I need to lose sleep over it, afterall it's his money. Although I don't think that being a serial looser in anything is good for the image of any celebrities, his fans will not be too excited about his constantly loosing huge amount of money, and I doubt that they can brag about it. But I think that the bet companies that drake, loses to will be loving him more because he's making them richer, infact they'll love him to be losing so much more than winning, because they're in business to make money.
