281  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Freedom on: June 25, 2017, 02:25:16 PM
How is bitcoin freedom?  You can't even buy a cup of coffee with it anymore.  The fees cost more than the coffee and if you have to sit around waiting for the transaction to confirm, you might as well purchase another cup or two in advance....Plus, bitcoin chains you to your mobile device....Nah, bitcoin ain't freedom, it's just another way to spend money in secret.
You can actually buy these things in Bitcoin but it might not be available in your country yet. It is also accepted in hotels, airlines, 100k+ stores in Japan ae accepting it ans some stores across the globe. If somehow your country would officially start accepting Bitcoin then it will gain popularity in your area and entrepreneurs to also accept it since they know it is secured and supported by the government. Government's support really is a big factor.

The freedom that the OP is talking is the freedom to your finances which unlike in the bank that questions you especially if you withdraw or deposit a huge sum of money. In Bitcoin, you can transfer it 24/7 that is anytime and anywhere. Regarding transaction fees, well in the past it is little and I hope it will come back to that to enable microtransactions.

I can buy stuff with bitcoin where I am too; however, it's much easier, more efficient, and quicker to use cash. I understand that bitcoin is nice to have if you want to carry large chunks of value around the world, but having cash for daily expenses represents freedom a lot more clearly than bitcoin....And, when it comes down to it, what percentage of the worlds population actually has the problem of having too much cash to fit in a carry on bag for which they would need to use bitcoin?

Even if you have too much cash to carry in a suitcase, you can use a travellers' cheque. That is hardly a reason to Bitcoin. The real freedom that you have with Bitcoin is that you control it. It has no borders that it cannot cross.
282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin hit 3500$ in 2018?  ??? on: June 24, 2017, 10:25:12 AM
I think that it is a very real possibility that this happens.

I did not believe a few months ago that it could reach 2700... but once that has happened, it can reach 3500 easily. People are beginning to be more aware, Bitcoin reaches news in tv more and more, and that brings more people in, which means more price.

It's like a snowball falling from a slope.
Yes, I think it can hot to $3500 because last week bitcoin hit $3000 and the demand is going up word and the prices is also going up so I think every thing is possible for bitcoin in coming time . people are getting interest in bitcoin in a large numbers they are involving bitcoin in there business.
if bitcoin can cross 400$ to 500$ in a single week then why are we thinking that it will just reach to 3500$ in next 6 months, i think if bitcoin continue increase with such rate then i am sure that at the end of 2017 the price of bitcoin is going to hit 5000$. and i think that bitcoin has the ability to cross that limit in next 6 months, because we have so may good examples from the previous time
There are still possibility that price won't hit if segwit activation was successful and never experience any issue about segwit we will see the changes and movement of the price if success it can be the price increase and before the end of this year we will see that the price can be increase more above $3,500 bitcoin has still 6 months to reach $3,500 and i think thie coming november or december we will see a large pump.
Every year end price increase is something assured. If you consider the past years of bitcoin you'll find the price increase that has taken place by the year end. Hopefully this time too the same happens and already we went near to $3000, so reaching $3500 by the falling year start is almost assured.

That is usually because of the Christmas sale discounts offered by BTC players. So people typically tend to buy bitcoins and shop with those, resulting in an increase in price. Scams abound during this period too.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 24, 2017, 09:14:17 AM
England take on India in the Women's World Cup today, England have won the toss and chosen to bowl first.
India have some upcoming players, including Deepti Sharma, and it will be interesting to see how they perform.
284  Economy / Speculation / Re: Slow gains and stability on: June 21, 2017, 01:02:07 AM
The last couple weeks we have seen a relative stable price with slow upticks. Many prefer to see this rather than huge instant rises. I like the fact we have been holding in in the 2700 to 2800 range last several days. We know from past summer is a quiet period. If we stay at this range through summer I would be quite happy.
Get through August unscathed then gain some momentum heading into the latter half of the year!
This is what i want. A stable price increase is everyone's dream. Because with the price stability then bitcoin will be very difficult to fall in quick time. A steady rise will also lead to a steady decline in prices. So there will not be many people who lose. We should all head to an era like this, because a currency in the world that will be ready for everyone's use is when the currency is stable.

I don't think we are there yet. In the last week we have dipped to $2300 before bouncing back. Except day traders, everybody else will be satisfied with a slow appreciation in the price of Bitcoin.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 21, 2017, 12:59:21 AM
Tomorrow we have 1st T20 match between England v South Africa,  i when to now which team is going win this match, can any one please give me the best tip, pls forgot about icc champions trophy what's happened in final.

Both teams will be eager to forget what happened in the Champions' Trophy. England are a strong team and have plenty of power hitters in their team. I would consider them favourites against South Africa.
286  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC be at $5,000? on: June 18, 2017, 03:15:02 AM
Being realistic and idealistic, maybe that will happen by 2018.
If it will pump to $3,000 - $3,500 that will be a good sign to us.
It's not easy and it will have a long way to go to reach that thing.
And I'm sure we're are all thrill to what will happen.
Bitcoin is always unpredictable and we're kind'a fortune teller.  Wink

We are all eternal bulls here. If it does reach $5000 in 2018, that represents a 100% gain in just one year.
Nobody is going to complain about those kind of returns!!
287  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: June 18, 2017, 03:08:45 AM
I think someday paper money will be replaced with digital money. And that's how I feel right now. Most of them use atm services as transactions in buying and selling of goods. They use digital money to pay because it is more simple to use. Unlike banknotes that still lack weaknesses in payments.

As far as simplicity is concerned, I think paper money wins over digital money. When you tip a waiter, it is much easier to use paper money.
Plus digital money leaves a trail, which many people might not be comfortable with.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 18, 2017, 03:04:56 AM
If by mistake India loses, there's going to be chaos here and same goes for Pakistan. I'm scared for my country rather than the match now lol
But it's true that both teams are deserving and well prepared for the match. Where one has a strong bowling team, the other team is used to chasing 300+ runs.
Looking at the amount of money involved in gambling and both these countries have a history of fixing matches anything is possible,if i find something unusual i would back down from entering further, lets see how this match goes and then decide what to do with the match.Lets expect a clean match in the final. Wink

A lot of fixers have been punished, including with jail terms. We saw what happened to Amir.
I don't think people will take the risk to fix matches now. This final should be clean.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 14, 2017, 03:43:40 PM
What a performance by Pakistan, after 14 overs Pakistan scored 80 runs without not getting any wicket, if all the things will go remain same then Pakistan is going to play at final, but they are very unpredictable team so no words will match with them. In cricket, anything can happen..

Pakistan are on track for victory here. They have scored 166/1 after 30 overs. I don't think even Pakistan can lose this match from this point.  Grin
So an India Pakistan final looks likely. It is going to be one hell of an entertainer.  Smiley
290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin crash or moon after august/sept implementation on: June 14, 2017, 03:40:33 PM
So much uncerainties at the moment. Maybe we should diversify our portofolio.
I am going for 25%BTC,  25%alts, 25%usdt and 25% back to fiat

Interesting, quarter on all front. Think this is wise. Im still think that bitcoin and altcoin will come even higher from this point now, expecting to see some last train alt that will surprise all, still targeting safe for the moment btc eth and ltc. Price will be uncertain for the moment of implementation we are still speculation on what might be 3k 4k, what if remains as it is.

25% USDt and 25% fiat indicates 50% fiat in terms of value. So it is not quarter on all fronts.  Grin
Tether is useful if you just want to book profits and expect to re-enter crypto soon. Otherwise, I don't think there is any point in holding USDt
291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we going to hit 2500 usd ? on: June 14, 2017, 02:01:32 AM
What is your prognostic?

I wouldn't be too surprised if we do hit $2500. This represents only a 10% drop from current levels and given Bitcoin's volatility, this is not too difficult. But I do believe that the long term trend is upwards.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 14, 2017, 01:57:49 AM
What a play by sri lanka even though they lost they tried for a really good comeback. Talking about pakistan they really played pretty disappointingly losing 7 wickets for a chasing a target of 250 run. Tomorrow's match is the first semi between england and pakistan. Not going to place any bet but I'm going with england to make it to the finals.

Pakistan was lucky to win that match because SL dropped Sarfraz Ahmed catch two times and that time he was in the thirties. If those catches were taken then match would have given a different result. Anyway, Pakistan outclasses SL in that match.

Today match between England and Pakistan. It looks a very comfortable win for England unless they make big mistakes. England is one of the favourite team to win this cup. I feel the final match will be between India and England.

Unbeaten England face Pakistan, who have been totally unpredictable in the series. After losing heavily to India, they came back to beat South Africa. The match's result will depend on whether Pakistani bowlers are able to contain England.
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 13, 2017, 01:10:30 AM
First of all congrats to Pakistan for the win, 2nd this is one heck of a tournament, it has already made me lose couple of hundred dollars as my third prediction in a row gets failed. Srilanka could have won this quite easily and i really feel bad for malinga.. Poor lad, 3 catches dropped on main stages. But it was just not their day. Any way the first semi final should be a pretty simple one. England knocking off Pakistan. I hope there are no more surprises in this tournament. We have had enough.

Pakistan seem to have Lady Luck smiling on them. This was Sri Lanka's game but the poor fielding gave it away.
Given that they are the eighth ranked ODI team, Pakistan should be happy to have reached the semi-finals.
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can reach 3000 USD in a year ? on: June 13, 2017, 01:07:52 AM
OP was done in April 2017, we are only 2 months later & it looks very likely that we'll break $3000 in the very, very short term.
Incredible scenes.
It is really incredible to see the rally in bitcoin, but today we were on the brink of breaching the milestone and could not sustain it for a longer time because people began booking their profits and we had a very good correction and we are having a good resistance to cross the barrier as this is the second or third time we are seeing a correction after trying to breach $3000.

$3000 is psychologically important and it is natural that people book profits. But the current drop is something more than people booking profits. It looks like a section of investors is getting out. Usually profit booking doesn't result in such a substantial (~20%) fall in profits,
295  Economy / Economics / Re: Spain's banking crisis flared up again on: June 13, 2017, 12:56:41 AM
Nice to see a non-bitcoin topic:) Personally I am euro bearish so I am glad to hear such news, although sentiment on euro is currently very positive (don't know why, it just is) so I am standing aside and watching.

These are all pointers to why Bitcoin is superior to fiat.  Grin
We aren't subject to the reckless policies of governments in power. I think bad banks should be allowed to fail. They should be shut down methodically, so that ripples are not felt by other market participants.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 11, 2017, 12:53:59 PM
And the chokers are choking again, There goes my bet down the drain, RSA will always be the chokers, They don't rise up to the occasion no matter where they are playing. Lets see if they can make a game out of it or not, Anything above 250 may give them a chance, But that's a long way from here (Currently 165/5). India now has to play really poorly to lose this one, Should be a walk in the park for India.

Agree the Chokers are already choking again, had expected them to give some fight at least but no a meal surrender it's the typical way I guess they play at the big games. What a boring match, until they suddenly score runs and pick up to many Indian wickets this match looks a dead rubber to me, with India can take a cake walk in this match.

South Africa are all out for 191. This total shouldn't trouble India at all. India has scored 300+ runs with ease in the first 2 matches. They will make short work of this target.
297  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will new Bitcoin purchases see competition from Litecoin affordability? on: June 11, 2017, 07:51:52 AM
Litecoin, on the other hand, is still trading a a price that is affordable by most.
This is where you go misinterpreting how the whole system working. Please remember even prices at $3000 per one bitcoin, you can go for buying some satoshi for $10, for example. I am not ready to agree that purchases should be done in the increment of one whole bitcoins.

The era of targeting to have 1000/100/50/21 bitcoins were gone for ever. We are now moving toward one bitcoin for one million dollars range. So, owning just one bitcoin may get you millionaire status.

I do not think a wise investor will go for litecoins as it is still available in the increments of whole litecoins.

I heard a podcast a few weeks back when they played a recording of a lady explaining why she got Litecoin and not Bitcoin she said I didn't have $1800 but had $15 for Litecoin something like that!

That is a mental block with people. When everything starts getting quoted in mBTC and microBTC, then people will probably start investing.
Companies deal with this sort of situation by doing a stock split.
298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 11, 2017, 07:42:58 AM
What a performance by bangladesh never expect that a team like bangladesh would qualify and a team like australia and new zealand would be out of the champions trophy. Congrats to england also qualifying by being top of the table and not losing a single match.
The match tomorrow would really be important for india as well as south africa as the teqm which loses is out. And i also don't like the way champions trophy fixtures have been this year coincidently 2 matches of india being on a sunday.
SA VS INDIA @INDIA odds 1.93 stake 20 mbtc return 37

I doubt india will win, Alot of RSA players have been playing the IPL So they will be familiar with India's bowling line up, I see RSA winning this match quite easily if they don't choke! As they have a habbit of doing it on main stages, But it will be an interesting match indeed, Both teams have good batting line ups, but RSA has the better Bowling line up of the two. My Bets on RSA, Should be a good match to watch.

Both India and South Africa are strong teams which are coming off losses.
South Africa is the number one ranked team and will be favourites. I would pick the team chasing to win this match.
299  Economy / Economics / Re: volatility and transaction fees... on: June 11, 2017, 07:39:38 AM
transaction fees: again has no effect on bitcoin's value. people investing in it are making so much more profit that they won't care about paying $1 or so for a transaction fee. imagine investing $100 in bitcoin and have it doubled in a month, you do honestly care about $1 fee! what if you invested $1000, $5000,...

Nope. High transaction fees hinder adoption and prevent bitcoin from achieving its true potential.
You talk about people investing $100, but what about people who want to invest $2. High transactions fees will surely deter them.
And there are probably a billion people like that.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: How are we not INVADED yet? on: June 10, 2017, 01:13:18 AM
How exchanges/brokers/traders of non-crypto "stocks" have not invaded crypto platforms yet?

Crypto usually generates better profit (and better chances) than most stocks.

How people who live from stock-trading (e.g.: companies) have not invaded crypto yet?

(If we look at communities' sizes, their size is much-much larger)

There are some individual traders who have ventured into crypto trading.
Companies are usually more cautious - the risk/ volatility associated with crypto is very high.
