I don't know. I certainly don't trust the US's reporting considering Osama has only benefited their destructive war policy.

Again, you didn't answer my question.  I didn't ask you for facts, I asked you for what you believed.
I believe in facts.
282  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The free market speaks! FDA-AVOIDED Dustberries! on: November 20, 2011, 12:05:06 AM
It seems the free-market is already regulating itself by making these berries an issue.

If I may make a suggestion, consider ditching the monarchy forum and just try to get most people posting in Anarchy. The prudes can find their own way.

...is an almost certain indicator you'll indulge in some thing or another at some point in your life.

How so? Heh.

Anyways, if you think driving impaired is fine until there is an accident, I guess you're entitled to that moral preference. I won't stand under it though.

So, it's 1 in the morning and I go on Facebook to play with the high and drunken boys and girls pissing their nights away. One girl admits she is higher than cloud 9 and then tells me she is off to drive to get some food after hap-hazardously and drunkenly sharing blackmail-worthy conversation.

I am starting to wonder if it ethical for me to hear this happen and let it pass with little intervention. I'm more concerned for other lives than the choices this girl is making.

Unremorsefully, I hate this kind of youth. I'm glad I skipped over this phase.

While your peers are having fun, you're on the internet at 1am specifically to look for something to make you feel better about yourself.  You don't think anyone is actually in danger, nor do you care.  You just want to make a post here so we can pat you on your head and tell you how good of a person you are.
Yes, Jalum, you have me all figured out. Bravo. So let's assume you're right: My self-esteem is dependent upon a humble Bitcoin forum. Now what? Does that make you feel better about yourself? Heh.

Isn't it non-libertarian to try and stop people from doing things they want to do?
It is. A impaired driver killing or harming you is doing just that.

Let's say I base my exchange in the West Indies.

The need for licensing avoided?

That's like saying "so I base my meth lab in west indies. Is it legal now?"

Where you are is indeed a big issue, but the bottom line is where the product goes and who is accessing it.

Who says you have to track who is using your exchange? Is it any skin off your bones if people are using your service in places where it is illegal?

I'm sure it's Oliver and Barkley. You should do some stern talking to them.
How do you know my dog's names? Where did you get this information?
292  Bitcoin / Legal / Bitcoin and The First Amendment on: November 18, 2011, 03:12:22 PM
In the United States, is Bitcoin constitutionally protected from the federal government by The First Amendment? Couldn't the transfer of information through the blockchain be considered speech?

Does the federal government even have the constitutional authority to regulate something such as Bitcoin?
293  Other / Politics & Society / ‘Patriotic millionaires’ demand higher taxes, but unwilling to pay up. on: November 18, 2011, 03:03:37 PM

Interesting:

"FACT: These "patriotic millionaires" are Democratic Party activists pulling a political stunt. In fact, the group was created from a list of MAJOR CONTRIBUTERS TO THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN.

And not all of them made their own money either - many of them inherited their wealth and list  "activist" or "philanthropy" as a full time profession. By the way, the website for Patriotic Millionaires is accepting donations - and they are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!"
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The invulnerabe Bitcoin myth. (Basic math risk analysis) on: November 18, 2011, 05:14:51 AM
Look, it makes things easier if we believe that with a large amount of money comes potential evil. To portray coin dumping as a nuclear bomb keeps the world-view in tact. It would be much easier for people's psyche if we keep things that way.  Roll Eyes If you're wealthy, you're evil unless you endorse eugenics or are Micheal Moore.

a: The gov/banks already have/use more computing power than the whole Bitcoin network.

Nope.

b: They can, in a matter of months, purchase the additional equipment required for a 51% attack (5 Thash/s) for 2 500 000 $ or less, (333mhs@165$), (with consumer GPU, not even ASICS)

Hah. No, here's what will happen. A contractor will come along and say he can do it for 50 mil, alright, with 20 for him and 20 for the other guy and maybe -- just maybe -- 10 mil for the inefficient bureaucrats to do the actual job. People will sit on their asses and twiddle their thumbs while pretending to do the project, then they'll have something horribly obsolete in 2 years or so.

Maybe the banks will do a better job discreetly but I doubt it. They would probably rather destroy bitcoin through FUD. Anyways, don't overestimate a farce of bureaucrats and corporate puppets we call the government. They can hardly do anything right without destroying more wealth along the way.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why did you guys support SolidCoin in the first place? on: November 18, 2011, 04:57:42 AM
Heh, even if it was closed-source for a period of time... that's just a testament to how irrationally narcissistic the development team is.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why did you guys support SolidCoin in the first place? on: November 18, 2011, 04:41:22 AM
Who in the right mind takes a closed-sourced cryptocurrency seriously in the first place? I am lost to why this monstrosity isn't in the funny papers by now and why it's still worth discussing.

The sad thing is that this is one of Bitcoin's greatest assets.

Unfortunately they haven't said anything yet. So far they have only criticized my interest in testosterone injections.
