281  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: {ANNOUNCEMENT} WBX Exchange Frozen on: June 02, 2013, 03:23:28 AM
Take 10% of the total amount I'm owed and keep it for yourself as a tip. It should equate to near ~$500. I appreciate your integrity.

I just realised I'm not 100% sure which account is yours.  I mostly don't have any information linking forum IDs to WBX accounts.

I picked the account where 10% of the owed amount was closest to $500.  Did I get the right one?

Other than that, I've paid everyone out, except for a few people who I'm still in email contact with regarding their claims.

Please post here or PM me if you don't think you've been paid out in full and I'll look into it.

Thanks for your patience in this, and for giving me time to work it all out properly.

I think so, its been so long now I'm unsure myself of what was outstanding! I'm very happy with the outcome and have a tremendous amount of respect to you. I've left you a trust rating.

I know I won't be the only one to say that I'm happy this is all finally over.

Once I get my head around the WebOTC thing I'll leave you a rating on that too. I'd appreciate one too Smiley
282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Technical Analysis of Bitcoin on: June 01, 2013, 02:50:20 PM
I agree that a lot of money can be made trading technical analysis. I made a huge amount by developing bots that traded it... Why share your analysis when it will become less effective the more people know about it though?

Have you applied backtesting? If so what were your results?
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1M Wall on: June 01, 2013, 02:46:44 PM
The manipulator is back Smiley

Lol, the whole "manipulator" propaganda sucks a lot.

Yeah i know, I just think its funny how people came up with a whole persona for the market movements.  Cheesy
284  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC-E PHP Currency Arbitrage Bot Full Code on: June 01, 2013, 12:50:31 PM
That seems to have done it, thanks.  Though now the activity level is way down.  I was getting at least a couple of trades per 10-15 mins, now I just ran for an hour and only 1.  Forgive my ignorance if the lack of trades is just a product of current market prices, but are there other settings that are tweakable to increase activity?

Ideally to make the most trades: (when I was running this my account had at least 100 trades per day)

1. You need a low latency to cloudflare and btc-e (fast connection or tier 1 network, or server in russia?)
2. The script needs to be able to run with no timers firing.
3. The script needs to print no output or only print output if a trade path was analyzed and no profit was found.
4. fastTrade should be enabled! - This again ideally will cause the script to fire all three trades with no error checking and no currency clearing.  The best chance to complete three trade legs is to complete them sequentially as soon as they are found.  The issue is that this method will leave your funds stuck in whatever the last currency leg that filled was.  Since I normally run bots to make the exchange a higher profit (.2%-.6% to exchange vs .1% to me) there can be a loss when converting back to the original currency.  In the crypto currency world it is dangerous to sit in anything other than 50%Crypto 50%USD continuously balanced since the prices are extremely volatile.

To make the most profit, the script should detect price trends in BTC and trade B to B while the price is rising and U to U while the price is falling.  Or swap from B to U to ensure a 50% balance in the portfolio.

Even if you are on to better things, we the people, greatly appreciate you sharing your work. I've rekindled an interest in coding due to looking at and tinkering with the bots on here for btc-e. Good times.

I've found that latency mostly isn't relevant for bitcoin exchanges. As long as your server is in europe it will make very little difference. What I have found is that establishing the connection for a http trade call (from php) will take anywhere between 0.5 and 1.0 second regardless of where your location is. This in relative terms is massive.

The manipulator is back Smiley
286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Average time for a 10% move in the USD price. on: June 01, 2013, 12:44:52 PM
I admire how you try to find rationality in what many see as very irrational movements. Its a little more difficult to predict than that though as the market is so illiquid in general (compared to typical currencies). A speculator with a large balance can easily move the market at their discretion.

Having said that, one trend I have seen continually repeat itself is the calm before the storm. Every major swing we have had, has been preceded by a long period of relative inactivity. Definitely looks like a hype driven market to me.
287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 01, 2013, 12:41:46 PM
Looking positively at the current market state, looks like the price is trapped and supply-demand  law is dictating it more reliably.

When and which wall will be eaten.... no clue.

Looks like liquidity is picking back up. Look out for some healthy swings soon. We've seen a massive increase in trading volume lately. Hang on tight!
288  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Callback on receive payment on: June 01, 2013, 12:32:51 PM
In what way are you finding notifications from blockchain unreliable? The speed of forwarding payments or the notifications each new block?

Hey piuk,

Yeah, that was a major issue a few weeks back but even since your fix it still seems to happen sporadically.

Two other issues as well. It appears that the callback url isn't called consistently... Also the logs tell me that my site is returning 'Invalid Server Response'. I'm certain that my response is developed corectly (to not echo anything until 6 confs, then return *ok*)

I will PM you two callback URL's you can check the logs to see what I'm talking about.

Is the server load balanced or traffic throttled in any way? Maybe there are too many outbound/inbound connections? Just thinking out aloud...

it's in 0.8.2

Thanks, I did a lot of reading up and it looks like its what I'm after. I'm surprised that there are no pre-written classes to handle this as its something that almost every bitcoin retailer would find useful. The closest I've found is:

https://github.com/hostvpn/whmcs-coinbase-bitcoin/blob/master/modules/gateways/callbacks/coinbase.php

If anyone else out there has written a few functions / classes to handle this then I'd love to see it.
290  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Callback on receive payment on: June 01, 2013, 01:16:42 AM
Anybody?

Coinbase also offers the same functionality: https://coinbase.com/docs/merchant_tools/callbacks
291  Bitcoin / Project Development / Callback on receive payment on: May 31, 2013, 02:19:40 PM
I'm in the process of setting up a receive payment server that can make calls when a payment is received.

Essentially I'd like to emulate the behaviour of instant payment notifications as seen on btc-e with live updating confirmations.

Blockchain.info provides something similar (which I'm using at the moment) but their service is unreliable: https://blockchain.info/api/api_receive

"The truth is, we know nothing of what goes on at Bitcoin headquarters."

That headline was so last year. I'm not even going to bother wasting my time reading it.

95% of my savings is in BTC and 5% AUD  Cheesy

Respect.

I always have respect for those with the guts to put their money where their mouth is. I did the same and rode it all the way to a six figure payout.
296  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: {ANNOUNCEMENT} WBX Exchange Frozen on: May 31, 2013, 02:11:20 AM
We appreciate all of your hard work.  Thanks Dooglus!

+1 Dooglus.

Take 10% of the total amount I'm owed and keep it for yourself as a tip. It should equate to near ~$500. I appreciate your integrity.

When its all done and dusted, I'd appreciate a trust rating. I will do the same for you mutually.

297  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTC.sx - Leveraged trading made easy on: May 30, 2013, 02:27:29 PM
Market orders are placed on MtGox, our prices are based on current bid/ask prices and are adjusted for estimated order fill price. For smaller orders, we tend to see our orders execute better then the displayed priced. For larger orders, it is close to display price, sometimes worse. This depends on market liquidity.

Thanks Smiley

One last question: what is to stop me using maximum leverage and then just buy and hold for 1 year?

Daily Funding Cost

Correct. The capital provided for leveraging the trade is subject to a daily funding cost. I need to update the FAQ with details about how this is calculated, its currently between 0.2 - 1% a day.
