I mistakenly thought that nuggets had something to do with food. Bah! At least pizzaforcoins can give me food.

Edit: As posted by smoothie here is the reply: "Bitcoin Report Volume 27 (Bitcoin Crash 2 - Ponzi Scheme Debunked)" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNLSvd4LyP8First of all what is this doing in the Press section? You are linking to a video of some "Bitcoin hater" that doesn't want to learn about Bitcoin nor understand. Why should we be losing our time with these people? TruthNeverTold blocks any new comments. Ok some people don't wanna learn about Bitcoin and that's fine for me. I'll neither curse them nor blame them nor praise them. I'll just leave this thread alone This was the comment I was not allowed to post: Does TruthNeverTold even know that there was a problem for many years called the "double-spending problem" that has been solved by the HashCash idea in conjunction with Digital Signatures?

The video that is shown on the page is "[117] Bitcoin Currency, Hugo Chavez Myths, Latin American Socialism" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-X-Au9HrmI "[117] Bitcoin Currency, Hugo Chavez Myths, Latin American Socialism" 3:11 "Have you ever heard of a Bitcoin? It is the first decentralized electronic currency not controlled by a single organization or government, check this out" Then the video includes a part of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um63OQz3bjo What is Bitcoin? 4:12 "Right now I'm joined by Max Keiser..." At about 12:40 the video ends all references about Bitcoin.

Another idiot gold/silver bug. Just one problem: he called it a ponzi scheme in 2011 *snip* Did youtube.com/user/TruthNeverTold say that? I also wonder how TruthNeverTold's youtube videos count as press?(edit: TruthNeverTold must be proud thinking "I'm as popular as CNN") Is it because the video has 3487 views or 173 likes and 54 dislikes? I added a dislike, do you think it will help? I doubt it and maybe we should just start caring about other stuff than silly actions done by people like TruthNeverTold who rant their mind before thinking(edit: + and not doing any research beforehand, I'm used to this.)

Yep, Humble Bundle inc. don't lose any time with delaying any new bundles so...with the opening of this thread I hope we can reach out to developers who may already be thinking about Bitcoin or reaching out to new people who we can mention Bitcoin. This https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Public_relations may come in handy.(#Expectations might be extra helpful to know what one could say or not say, then of course it also depends on the situation and whom you are contacting and what their interest is) Humble Bundle inc. has not yet decided to accept Bitcoin and if you want to know why check here post #23: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=120966.msg1455075#msg1455075It's also possible to contact them yourself if you just want to let them know that you would like to purchase in BTC.(they might think nobody is really interested) ...though I put greater value in contacting the developers who actually contribute games to the bundles. Pick a game you like and offer to donate to them in BTC. . It's optional of course but that's what I'm gonna do Got a reply: Solar by Murudai, Mar 10 2013, The kind of reply I interpreted(warning, this is not a quotation of the reply!) "Please don't send us just a few dollars as the transaction fees we will pay are much higher than that". I sent a follow-up immediately that to receive Bitcoins there is no transaction fee, but only the payee has to pay a transaction fee. I would have ignored the message if the reply was "no, thx" but since this is just lack of knowledge of Bitcoin I had to inform! Update: I offered some coins to Murudai for the game Solar, the game I enjoyed the most in the bundle, and I made some notes about it above. I really didn't enjoy any other games. If somebody finds any other gamedev who accepts Bitcoin in this bundle give a shout.

Isn't this a duplicate of another news section I've already read? I've already read that article.

Is it really true that BTC is widely used to purchase child porn? I see that accusation thrown around a lot, but are there any sources to back that claim up? I think not?
I have no idea. If anyone makes the claim ask what price they paid. Game over. Should I start listing everything nasty that dollars/euros etc. can be used for and has been used for?

I do not quite understand where the hostility towards Bitcoin and Bitcoin users that I see in so many comments under different articles comes from. It seems like some people try very hard to discredit Bitcoin in any way possible.
So why does Hacker News like bitcoin or at least neutral about it and other sites hate bitcoin? Simply general difficulty in accepting something new.

The bundle's finally over. They polished Nuclear Pizza War which is my favorite game in this bundle.
|
|
|
**snip** My hypothesis is that this rally is explained by: - 30% -> new people discovering Bitcoin.
- 20% -> the halving itself.
- 50% -> the psychological effect of the halving (over the whole community, not only over miners). Nobody wants to sell their coins.
If the 50% assumption of hoarding is true...well it's nothing new. Hoarding has always been a problem in Bitcoin, has it not?

The town I live in is VERY small and not much goes on here. Thanks for your enthusiasm, though I usually go to the press section to find out: What does the New York Times write about Bitcoin? What does CNN write about Bitcoin? Was Bitcoin covered in the news lately? I think that you would get LOTS of help if you posted it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=1.0 on the Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Bitcoin Discussion. What do you think?

I think the numble bundle should accept bitcoin/litecoin.
Maybe you have contacted them about it? Myself.. I hesitate a bit to contact about anyone right now asking if they could accept donations in BTC as I don't find any stability right now in the price of Bitcoins, well it has been stable since yesterday, and the day before that btc wasn't as valuable as it was today and yesterday. I'd wait. What do you think? If the indie game developers themselves who contribute games to the bundle don't wish to accept BTC, I see little to no chance that they will get any cryptocurrency from us, or will they? At least none from the Mojang 2 bundle have shown any interest at all. I actually have e-mailed the humble bundle about this, no reply. I e-mailed them too, though I got several replies. Here's part of the latest I got https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=120966.msg1455075#msg1455075It's post #23 on the thread "Humble Indie Bundle - Purchasing with Bitcoin?"

I really missed those statements: ...best known for enabling online drug deals, gambling and other illicit activity. I hoped we where past this. The article goes on with: Since August, the decentralized currency has received numerous stamps of legitimacy, including the first-ever Bitcoin bank and the ability to pay for pizza with Bitcoins. Not to mention, it is now accepted as a form of payment for advanced features on popular blogging platform Wordpress.com. Did you also all know that http://pizzaforcoins.com/ now accepts Pizza Hut as well as Papa John's? Also I didn't find the article bashing Bitcoin.

Note: The event is officially over but you can still donate until March 2nd! I thought the bundle was over when it would hit 0. Guess not. Tried: Cyborg or also called "Nuclear Pizza War" by @carnalizer @jbernhardsson and @jeb_ ("Mojang, makers of minecraft"). Humble question if they are already into BTC in which case they could receive a tip. Otherwise unlucky them. Still they got my thx + extra thx for releasing source code!(albeit without any license text, but at least possible to check that it doesn't do any malicious, access to src code a prerequisite to that. I didn't check if it's possible to run the whole game from source, since I didn't have time or mood to check it) Cyborg is a game where you are in a pizza, fighting aliens, some of which also attack your base. Sometimes a flying pizza spaceship flies by. Pretty cool, but entertaining to some little degree and I think has replay value, but not much . Sandbox-style in that there is no clear defined goal or high score.

This is a general thing for companies why they may not consider BTC. The simplicity lies in that they can't purchase services that they are interested in. Let's take hosting. Hosting the games on https://www.humblebundle.com/ costs money for bandwidth. Let's assume that the company the HiB inc pays doesn't accept BTC. Now something more real and serious: Let us assume that the game devs of the games included in the bundles don't use Bitcoin. Hey, HiB inc could pay them in Bitcoin, I don't say that would make it final so that would make them switch instantly but it's a helping thing. Now you may see why I think it makes sense contacting the game devs contributing to the bundles. Just a little insight
