Hi.
Before I deposit into the card I have one more question.
Let's say I want to withdraw $150 at an ATM (or any amount)
Would I just insert the card and choose the amount? Or does it require a PIN.
If it requires a PIN how would I get one? Because I don't have a phone to get the texts
Thanks

Hello,

Yes, you will be asked to enter the PIN. There are two ways of getting your PINL via phone and via email. You can choose the most convenient for you. Details are in this article: https://help.e-coin.io/hc/en-us/articles/202771651-How-do-I-get-my-PIN-code-

Alena did you catch this > https://imgur.com/aziZjhQ this is happening when trying to use the new MC to pay.
I do have a Visa, i know puling funds from PP was not a focus, but consider that when you do enable purchasing btc via e-coin site
you would hold the keys to the kingdom in transfering from PP to BTC. (very hard to do these days withouth geting flagged or paying ridiculous fees.)
Can you imagine the amount of people that would use your service to buy btc from their pp, by going just one hop (withdrawing to your card).

Hello,

This is happening when you try to pay on sites which require 3D security (neither our MasterCard nor Visa support it). This block is usually removed in 24 hours. You just need to be careful what sites you are using the card for.

Yes, we are aware of it, and we know the benefit we can get here. And this is one of our primary consideration right now (how to organize bitcoins purchase the most efficient way). However, this is not something I can personally influence on (apart from sharing the feedback).

Visa has some disadvantages, MasterCard has another. It would be always like that.

So let's go trough this again.

1. From premium and almost unicorn visa, someone thought it was a good idea to switch to mc. (apparently because of a piece of shutterstock graphic) > http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?utm_source=38874&id=131485355&irgwc=1&utm_campaign=Nguyen%20Duy%20Phi&tpl=38874-43068&utm_medium=Affiliate

So on top of loosing unicorn status, paypal integration and ease of use, we get this now from mc >

HINT: Reverse changes, it is not too late. I love my e-coin cards.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback, I will pass it to the managers.

You are right, we switched to MasterCard mainly because it allows us to have branded card. You may be do not know how many people are concerned about how their card looks like. I mean, working in support, I can tell we got pretty equal number of tickets regarding "Why your card is so ugly" and "Why you card is no longer Visa". It is not possible to satisfy every one.

As was stated before, we are considering to return virtual Visa card to provide our clients a choice. However implementation of both programs is pretty tie consuming (not only for us, but for bank as well), so there is still no ETA when it will be possible and no concrete confirmation it will at all.
Though I hope it is coming.

PayPal integration was not our main goal, we are highly concentrated on providing possibility to spend and spread bitcoins (and with MasterCard you can link it to PayPal, and send your bitcoins to PayPal though this). Though we are considering PayPal now more seriously as we know it is very important for our clients. I believe we will have some satisfying solution in future.

Also, if you already have the card and it is Visa, there is nothing to worry about. We are not going to terminate Visa cards or insist on replacing them with MasterCard. If you have Visa, just enjoy it.

i dont know about all the others but in my opinion bitcoin debit cards seems to be kinda useless for me, i mean you can easily do payments with your mobile phone, who needs to carry around one more card?

It is mainly for people who wish to cash out their bitcoins (withdraw in ATM) or just pay in POS with no hassle (not all merchants support NFC technology yet).
Also, useful for those who want to make purchases where bitcoins are not accepted (though this is mostly for virtual cards).

By the way, good news. WE are going to have NFC in a month or two. So, stay tuned.

this is service bitcoin debit card?? can i verify using my paypal account? and how to have it??

Hello,

You can link our card to PayPal and transfer funds from the card to PayPal/make purchases through PayPal. It would not be possible to transfer funds from PayPal to the card (because our card is MasterCard, while PayPal can withdraw funds to Visa only).

The instructions how to get the card you can find over there: https://help.e-coin.io/hc/en-us/articles/202699212-How-to-order-a-card-

You can pay for the card with bitcoins only (at the moment).
286  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 09, 2016, 12:54:15 AM
I would wish to have the card but unfortunately my country is not on the list-In fact no country from my continent is listed.

The same advice as for India residents, and people in other unsupported countries:

Quote
Perhaps, you have an address in a different country where you could order the card to (and verify the address for later on, if you decide to increase the card limits)? Or consider to order virtual card for online payments (no delivery and no verification: you can use any valid address in supported countries).

Hi, I am from India is their any service for my country in coming future as i am not able to see my country name in your list, but i am just waiting eagerly to use  the bitcoin debit card.

Hello,

We are working on covering as many countries as possible, including India. However it is not that easy, as our bank has those limitations (mostly caused by financial regulations of the unsupported countries) - so we cannot tell - even approximately - when we would be able to provide service in India.

Thanks for the information, i will be waiting for the development for indian customers, and about other country i dont think that will be good. and online virtual card for online payment, can you give full details about this offer about how i can apply and what will be the charges.

Hello,

Virtual card is similar to regular debit card, only it is no physical and hasn't got a piece of plastic you can hold. You request card's details from the account and then card use them to pay online like you usually do.

Virtual card costs $3 (however, we have different offers and giveaway every now and then which allow to get virtual card for free or with great discount. None at the moment, however if you subscribed to our newsletters, you will know when the next one begins).
You can order it the usual way following those steps: https://help.e-coin.io/hc/en-us/articles/202699212-How-to-order-a-card-
You still need to enter your personal data and residence address, however as virtual cards cannot be verified, you can simply use some valid address in supported country (e.g. your friend's one).

Hi All,

There was DDoS attack attempt the day before which caused intermittent login issues. It was made in "few rounds", so I guess sometimes I was  possible to get in.
We hope we were able to stop it yesterday and it would be fine now. We added extra capture on login page, so please do not be irritated to much about it - like the last time we would remove it once we are sure it is safe. We have also blocked few IP-addresses.

All in all, it should work better now. If you still have some issues - please let me know.

Why e-coin  is down ?

Hello,

I am not absolutely sure (I was away from the Internet), however seems there was an DDoS attack attempt. As far as I can see from our team comments we noticed this pretty fast and took necessary measures.

This should be fine now.
294  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 04, 2016, 01:33:58 PM
Just curious, is there a minimum/maximum age to get verified?
(Like, if you're 12 or 140 on your ID would it still be accepted?)
Thanks

The minimum age is 18. The maximum - a good question. Not absolutely sure, but I guess if you have valid (not expired) ID with such date of birth, they should verify - why not.
295  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 04, 2016, 11:48:54 AM
I've sent like 2 mails last week via the support feature on E-coin asking about how long verification takes. Got no reply, not happy about it. I read some people waited for a 1 month which is not good. I need to be verified fast. Would be great to have an Express verification service where you maybe pay X amount of money to be verified faster.

Hello,

Usually, verification takes about 5-7 business days and is performed by bank. However, lately bank delays the verification and it takes more that 10-14 days. Once client contacts us with complain about delayed verification we send request to the bank to hurry up. Sometimes it helps, sometimes - not. We are in touch with bank's support management and escalate such requests to them.

Also, sometimes the card is verified, but system does not update the status in the account.

If you send me your email in private message, I can check your status and push the bank.

Could you please let me know how exactly you contacted support? At the moment we consider all our channels working properly. However, if you contacted us and we did not reply it might be that something is not working.

Or you mistyped your email address, if used Contact Us/Chat form.

Hi all,

We have recently announced new countries we can issue and ship cards to. I wanted to let you know we have some difficulties with Kosovo at the moment. We are resolving this with the bank at the moment, however not sure when it will be completely fixed.

Currently you still can order the cards to Kosovo, but they will be in pending for some time until this situation is resolved.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

That's nice , did you started accepting Algeria or not yet ? last time you told me that there is laws or because the bank didn't allow that or something ... ?

Not yet unfortunately. We are still working with the bank to cover African countries. Algeria, Tunis and Nigeria most actively, because we know there are a lot of people who want our card and we want to be able to provide the one for them.
However, it is not that easy. They have some regulation preventing card issuance to those countries. Hopefully, we would manage to find a solution!
Why are not you serving India ? WageCan is already serving India. So, what is stopping e-coin ?

The same reason as mentioned above - our bank has certain limitations and cannot issue the cards for some countries, including India.

We are working with the bank on resolution, however not much depends on E-Coin.

Make you help me please, I have ordered physical card before 2-3 months. but the card did not come. and now I contact support. It did not help me and have posted this message. I applied because I wanted to use Debitcard, and I verified my account. I paid 17 USD directly. This time I paid my $ 50 account and then loading up to 3 BTC then they told me they would refund the money of the first card. I wanted to give that card's printed or sent a document showing that they do not respond to it.Where is my customer satisfaction? I want a solution to this issue. Sorry for my english and thank you.

Hello,
Could you please send me in personal messages your email address? I would check your tickets and make sure we provide a reply.
It is a bit strange, because as far as I can see responses for all tickets of Feb 3 were sent. I am going to finish tonight's one soon.

If we promised you to refund $17 after you load your new card with 3+BTC, we would definitely do that.

Also, maybe you did get a reply from us after this post? The refunds usually take 2-3 business days to be made, so it might be we replied, just refund is not done yet?

In any case, I'll wait for personal message from you.

Loading not working again!!! yeah i agree that you need to place a service statememnt somewhere prominent on your site, on the front page or even a warning when yr about to transfer saying Loading Down. . If i knew it was down i could have saved alot of time not sending the Bitcoins to my ecoin account!!!

Hello,
The loading should work. We did not have issues yesterday as far as I know (we had on weekend and Monday with EUR cards, but not yesterday).

Perhaps, this was\is something else? Could you please email support with the error screenshot if persists?

As for the service status, we are working on this feature. It is coming in a month or two I think.
