281  Economy / Economics / Re: 2017 Was Bitcoin's Year. 2018 Will Be ....... on: December 27, 2017, 03:50:51 PM
It will still be bitcoin year. Why would any other coin be the year of that coin? I do think that bitcoins will still go up in the next years as basically it is not done yet going up and it will not stop here. Bitcoins is not yet done, it has not even gone mainstream and look at where it is now. Imagine if it would go mainstream and would be used in a lot more places than just online.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Lucky moments during gambling? on: December 22, 2017, 11:10:39 AM
A simple lucky moment is to get back your loss on that day, and in the next day back to normal, I loose it again. Gambling is pretty good when you want to entertain yourself but if you do this for a living then you must get out of it.
Anyone who is really gambling for a living should just be ready to start digging their own graves, because at the end of the day, they either die from frustrations of life, end up having a heart attack, or even break down and never recover from it. It is a silly thing to do considering gambling as an investment and I am not sorry to those who see gambling as such and if they cannot accept the truth, which they say is bitter, then that is their own problem but I cannot keep shut without saying it.

I sincerely beg to differ.

Gambling is not just about dice. There are many types of gambling, and even trading can be considered as a variety of gambling too. You just need to know what you are doing and when to stop. For example, there are many successful poker players who make a living off it, and if this occupation is rewarding both financially and emotionally, I don't see how it can possibly ruin your life. But if it is not, then you will quickly abandon it anyway.

I disagree with the trading part. Indeed they both have a risk, but they are different kinds of risks. Trading risks may be minimized or altered, unlike the risk you take in gambling which does not change at all. The fact is that when you roll the dice, pick a card, spin the will, choose a table, pull the leaver, there is no going back or changing your fate.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I suddenly decided to leave gambling alone. on: December 22, 2017, 11:06:45 AM
I don't think that I'll stop gambling anytime soon. Money management and informed decisions based on VALUE is the key...

It depends on how a person will handle every situation he/she come across. Maybe good for you if you properly control yourself, handle your emotions well and most important is being smart in handling your money and good decision maker.

Quitting gambling is a choice, not a burden, For OP it's good that you knew when to stop and had enough. There are real ups and downs in this type of this industry, sometimes you win a lot but and sometimes you lose (more than you can imagine). OP's story is no different to others but different paths where taken. Some stay out for good but others stay. It is really fun to gamble, it's very entertaining to the extent that we are not aware that we already spend too much.

Sell control is actually hard to do, even if it is quite easy to say and really good on paper. It's pretty much hard to resist the temptation to double your money in just a few clicks. Though I guess that is why there are people that are addicted and those that aren't. I do think it is very much depends on the person gambling, there are likely some that would easily fall into an addiction and there are some that will never get addicted.
284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your first betting? on: December 22, 2017, 11:01:05 AM
my first betting was sports betting about a soccer team win/loose .
It was more than 20 years ago , there was no internet at that time also

Wow that was a long time ago. I just started playing on a ps1 that time. LOL. Anyway, I would guess that it would have been quite different back then than now, since everything now is quite easier and automatic unlike before. I wonder though how was it like before as compared to day. How was the odds and matchups? Do they have a moving moneyline? Pretty interesting to be honest.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to advertise gambling site on: December 22, 2017, 10:55:03 AM
You just promoted your site by this post!
People who have seen this thread with the them update, may now enter your site just to see the them, and may try it and place bets as well!.
That's just one way of promoting your site at bitcointalk, the most popular one is to set a signature campaign, which means that you take a designer to design a nice signature who promotes your site, and then you pay people in the forum to put your signature.

They comment and open threads, people sees the signature, enter your site, and may later place bets so you are actually getting new bettors.
It may cost money but I think that it is worth.

True, because there are a lot of people that read and go to this forum there are plenty of people that can be targeted for their marketing efforts here on the forum. This is pretty much the best place to advertise a bitcoin gambling site since there are a lot of cryptoheads here on the forum probably this is even the biggest place where crypto enthusiast are gathered.
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Excuses on: December 22, 2017, 10:20:05 AM
Did you ever gamble with other's money to pay your own debts or otherwise to solve a certain problem through gambling?

I haven't it is because gambling is really risky, just imagine if you will use other's money in gambling and what if you'll lose all of it. It would be difficult to pay and it may even break one's trust. You should just gamble your money and just gamble the amount of money you can afford to lose.

That's a pretty dangerous thing to do, but it is far too common than you expect. There have been a lot of people that constantly ask for a loan just to gamble with them. Some may take a profit, but likely a lot of them don't. They will likely end up losing their collateral or reputation. I do think that it is a bad thing to do. The risk is already high with gambling and you add more risk through loans./
287  Economy / Gambling / Re: AI has beaten top poker professionals on: December 22, 2017, 10:11:15 AM
I do think that one day AIs will be extremely smart to even outwit any human player. The thing is, AIs are mechanical and they can do almost anything that would be better than a human since they commit less error. Maybe one day the world will be ruled by robots and it could lead to those scifi movies about robots in the future we all know and love (Matrix, iRobot, Terminator, etc).
288  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nitrogen $20 withdrawal fee on: December 22, 2017, 09:48:37 AM
The more reason to have a Segwit enabled wallet for the users and the merchants. The demand for including your transactions in a block is becoming higher. With Segwit it increases the no. of transactions per block to approximately 8000. It will help more or less in lowering the fees.

Nitrogen is working on this currently to reduce the tranx fees

I believe Nitrogen, being the largest site in Bitcoin sports gambling, will influence the movement of other Bitcoin gambling sites to Segwit, reducing their fees back to cents.

Problem is people aren't yet implementing it and using it yet. That's the problem, a lot of users and services (such as Nitrogen and other gambling sites) aren't using segwit yet. That means if only one address is segwit in a transaction it still does not benefit from the advantages of segwit addresses. So that is the problem. I guess you are correct with the statement that if Nitrogen does shift to segwit addresses a lot of casinos will follow suit.
289  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do I find bettors to come to my site on: December 22, 2017, 09:42:48 AM
If you are specifically targeting crypto users then look no further, the best place to do it is here on the forum. Create a signature campaign of buy some advertising directly from the forum. That's the best place to get it. Then next would be to go with the casino review sites and as well as those trading websites like coinmarketcap. Just center it to the places where your target market are concentrated.
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can maths help you win in gambling ? on: December 22, 2017, 09:23:49 AM
How math can help a gambler to win a game because as far as my knowledge is concerned, gambling is totally a luck dependent thing. It is just like crossing a river just by looking with your eyes on to other bank. If math really was so helpful for the gambler to win the game.

Then all gamblers who have a good knowledge of math would have never lost any game they have played in their lives. Math can only help the gambler to maintain his records.

It does not mean that you cant los eif you are good in math but it means that you have a good chance to know your chance. It is like you are going to have better knowledge of your chances so you could make better decision to stop or to continue. Although I think that most gambler will not bother with this kind of thing as they will choose to continue
math is one of the sciences that can predict every possible number out, the possibilities of winning in which the math can reasonably afford, because the online casino is created by the system, and the system has a code in which there is a count. and may be predicted by some people

Yes you can predict all possible number that would come out, but that doesn't change the fact that you cannot predict which number will come out on your next roll. The only thing you have is a set of possible numbers and nothing more than that. I guess that's the only thing being good at math can do. It may help in poker, like knowing the chance your hand will win but in games like dice, it's nothing.
291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins would it take for you to Quit Gambling Forever? on: December 22, 2017, 09:21:39 AM
For and addicted gambler, no amount of profit will stop them from gambling because they are addicts.

For reasonable people though this is not true and one might stop after winning a set amount of money. But there's no end of greediness.

In my case, I will stop after winning 10 BTC because I'll be too busy Driving my Porsche instead of Gambling^^

How many BTC it would take for you to quit gambling and why? Or, if any amount of BTC would make you quit gambling at all.

This has been a big question for me over this year. In February it would of probably been 100 BTC, but then I was also gambling for over 1 BTC / day. Today it is completely different though and I'm probably there with you on right around 10 BTC would be enough. I would probably just cash out half of it to travel a bit and keep the other half to invest accordingly Smiley.

Not that I'll ever reach that haha, but to dream is human.

Indeed, due to the recent rise of bitcoins, the amount of bitcoins you would lose before you quite is subjective to the current price of bitcoins. Probably the best would just be to equate it in terms of dollars or fiat since it is much more stable than bitcoin prices.

With the current price, I would say that if I lose 5 bitcoins in gambling I would never try to roll a dice ever again.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: December 22, 2017, 06:20:57 AM
I believe anything you are addicted to is not easy to get out..now if you are having a difficulties in giving up gambling, then you are addicted.. basically its all about self control and redirecting your self. Do something new, i know its easy to say but its totally hard to give up if your hooked for a long time. But as i said, self control, self discipline and seek a help. As long as you are willing to change then you can do it.
everything is all depends on how you are willingly like to quit and give up, engagement with gambling is really hard especially for those who already got addicted too much, we frequently read those advises and seems that its always depend on how people adopt change and how deeper he really wanted to
do so.

It is true it all depends on you determination, though i learned that it might be easy to look at the outside but the battle inside , thoughts, emotion, urges, stopping, avoiding, is quite hard.  We can never tell if its easy or not since it is felt inside the person.  But I do believe that determination and focus can tell you that it can be fixed.  Just do not let the urege to gambling take over your decision.  Be in control and all will be fine.

There are people who cannot control there selves thats why you call it addiction. It is easier to be said than done. I witnessed a lot who are addicted in gambling because i was able to work in casino. There are times that the wife or the father of addicted gambler requested the casino to band their son or husband. Thats legal in casino where i worked before. They cannot get inside casino anymore. Being addicted to anything is really hard to change. Unless if you are willing to change and of course with the help of the family. Yes be determine to what you want in your life. If you are willing to change then do it. The only person who can help us is ourselves.
Yes, it is hard to give up things that you used to love and like if you are already addicted in gambling then every time that you are bored you always have a feelings of excitement to play again and the desired of winning will always prevail. So it is hard to quit if you have no other activities for the diversion of attention to make up the loneliness of gambling.

Then stop loving it. Gambling should not be love. It should be some sort of love-hate relationship. Gamble only to enjoy yourself while hating it because it would prevent you from getting addicted, then if you win love those winnings! Since winning is rare in gambling, any wins should be cherished and enjoyed after your gambling session. Don't let the casinos take it back, just withdraw it and buy something nice.
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I always lose all my tokens and btc on gambling~ on: December 22, 2017, 06:16:13 AM
I guess, gambling is not actually for me.
I kinda feel bad on all the tokens wasted on gambling but it's kinda my "when I'm bored" hobby.
Do you guys have any tips on how to not to lose all you tokens on gambling?

The best way to prevent you from loosing your token is to stop it, you see yourself as not productive on that, then how can you still be happy on that situation. Gambling is ok but if you feel bad on it then stop it, at least you save yourself from greed always do it at your own risk.

That is quite true, gambling is not something you should be addicted to and try to profit from. Gambling is just some sort of way to entertain yourself. Well, think about it like drugs. Drugs actually make you feel good, but too much of it gets you addicted. That is why it is banned by governments. The chance of getting addicted to drugs is pretty high and not everybody has a high tolerance to addiction. If you just play for fun, then the chances of you getting addicted is quite lower.
294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin gambling is legal? on: December 22, 2017, 06:10:00 AM
There are many legal casino and they used bitcoin as money to gamble but there are some country are not tolerate gambling because they know what would the effects in the life of every person and it can be harm their economy like here in my country some of the government official wanting to stop the legal casino because gambling has negative effects in the business in many people her in my country they get bankrupt due to addiction in gambling.

Casinos with physical buildings have been legalized because the government also earns a lot of income from applicable taxes, it is widely recognized by developed countries because gambling also serves as entertainment so business complexity will also be greeted with more professional gamblers, for online gambling I'm not too sure but the use kyc on the website can be categorized as legal.
The taxes on the business is what the government wants and that's how they are planning to get profit from there too and that's what the government wants. To be part of something that is really working. Think about it, we all want to have positive outcomes especially if it concerns with money.

Well technically you can tax druglords, arms dealers, hired killers, etc. The fact is tax is on income generated, regardless of source. You can actually be imprisoned for not paying taxes, so that means it is a crime. Remember, Al Capone? He was not convicted because of his illegal activities but actually for non-payment of taxes. Being taxed doesn't mean it is not illegal.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: December 22, 2017, 06:06:02 AM
You mean slot machines? Yes, becasue thats the only one i know how to play in casino..i dont know how to play poker and bacarat. I dont know table games so i stick to slot machines 😊
Oh yeah i definitely do love slot games, i used to lose a lot of money playing them but i always make it back one way or another, Playing slot games in a casino is more fun than playing online, which takes the thrill from the game but i find it hard going to the casino anymore so i better get use to doing it online.

Yeah because this us the easiest and fun games inside casino. You do not need a poker face lol. But mind you this kind of game make you lose a lot of money if you are not being careful. I love the free spin it will hive you and the colorful lights and exciting sound. Slot machine has a jackpot also. Like almost 1 million. Anytime it will drop in your machine if you win the jackpot. This kind of game that no need to analized and no need to think hard. Its kinda chill game and you can stop anytime.

There is always craps, roulette and other games you don't need a poker face. Even blackjack is plain and simple to do without requiring too much skill or knowledge. What I hate is that slots have a pretty high house edge and that's not something easy to beat. Heck, even 1% house edge causes so much losses, think about 5% - 10%. Also, the jackpot is quite so big but it is super hard to get, it entices people but it's just a honey pot.
296  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Soon I start my investment fund. on: December 22, 2017, 05:54:04 AM
This will make it possible to invest crypto in those who are engaged in trading and in the topic of crypto, in particular, for a long time.
It will be at the same time control over your crypto and oportunity to earn from just the fact that you own it.

What a vague statement. I don't see any business proposition, all you said was that if an investor owns crypto there is a chance of earning just by holding. Well, duh! That is a no brainer, right now there have been a lot of crypto that just made profits for everyone just by holding on to them because of the price increase it gets whenever there is a huge pump.

You did not describe what your title said.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2017-12-22] After Litecoin Founder Charlie Lee Sold All His Litecoin on: December 22, 2017, 05:49:44 AM
I highly doubt he "donated" all or a significant amount of it. I do think that it was a bad move for him to have sold everything and left. Though like bitcoins, LTC should survive fine without a member of its development even if the founder left as well. This is what is nice about cryptocurrencies. It is independent and does not required a central authority to make changes. We just need a consensus from the users.
298  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash on: December 21, 2017, 02:06:06 PM
It did crash however I think it is ripe for it to pump again since a lot of altcoins just pump and they need to correct. Chances are people will start dumping alts and buy bitcoins as it is pretty low right now. I already cashed out my Doge, though a bit early at 45 sats each still good profits and looking like it will all crash back down to make bitcoins rise. This is always a seesaw action. When alts go up, bitcoins go down, then when bitcoins go up, people leave alts and go back to bitcoins.
299  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: do i sell my altcoins now? which is good or just hold. on: December 21, 2017, 05:39:55 AM
I would sell now, based from what I am seeing. I am currently holding on DOGE and made a good profit from it when it pumped, but when bitcoins get traction again, likely all alts will die again and bitcoins come back up as the only thing people want. Right now a lot of alts took advantage of the correction of bitcoins, but now bitcoins has already corrected and it is cheap to buy bitcoins right now. Likely even my DOGE will dump and so I'll be dumping it right now at 45 sats each.
300  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investing all my savings! on: December 20, 2017, 07:35:28 PM
Hello guys! I am planning on investing all my savings (12500$) in cryptocurrency, so I would really like to hear your opinion. My current plan is to split it in to 3 :
-50% bitcoin.
-25% ethereum.
-25% litecoin.

I am investing the money at the next dip.
Please post your opinion guys.

Edit: I should mention that this is for a longtherm hold, about 5-10 years

Sorry for my bad english, but I am better reading it than writing it.. :p
It is better if you will allocate all of your money in bitcoins. Bitcoin investment is the best way to double or even triple our investment. Bitcoin investment can help us to have a good future.

You rely on it too much, the fact is that you should consider not placing all eggs in one basket. So that you would be able to distribute the risks of your investments. Indeed bitcoins are one of the best investments ever that happened to man kind. It has beaten all expectations and that it has beaten all naysayers, but I do still think it can crash just like that in one day. I think the best thing to do is still know when to invest into it and when to cash out.
