281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: March 06, 2017, 04:28:56 PM

TDP 60% (110w per card)

At that clock - this is impossible, are you measuring that at the wall?
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 05, 2017, 03:53:20 PM
nice work guys, but what is up with all that wood affection?
IMHO, thats a potential disaster waiting to happen.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: March 05, 2017, 02:36:11 PM

Yes that is the case. Some brands have higher usage at 55% TDP than others at 80% TDP. This is especially true for the MSI and Palit cards. But you can be sure that no 1070 can hold clock over 2050 MHZ under 150 watts.

Exactly. I found a sweet spot when underclocking it, IMHO, OC is just not worth it. 10% stronger hash rate demands around 25% more energy...
Only if one had almost free electricity, which no one really does.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: March 05, 2017, 01:43:01 PM

These percentages tell nothing because each card has totally different TDP settings and curve. What is the consumption at the wall? When i set the settings as you have, my cards take over 160Watt. So for me, it is still much better to go 410-420 sols at 105-110W.

this.

TDP and gpuz mean NOTHING, the only correct stat is how much power computer/rig sucks at the wall.
I've had gpuz say I'm using 60% tdp, and the wall said it's sucking 150+ watts, so...

285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: March 05, 2017, 08:33:12 AM
I never pushed memory clock that much, I'll give it a try,
but guys how much power are your cards sucking at this extreme OC?

I optimised it now to around 410 sols, and the whole system with 2 cards is sucking 370W, which is a great success (at extreme overclock, it used to suck up to 500W for me).
I can reach a stable 2100 core clock, but it just sucks way too much power...
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: March 04, 2017, 11:07:05 PM

Interesting guys, I got it cheaply, but still I see more trusted brands are getting more hash rate.

PS, I'm getting MSI rx 480 8gb, gaming X, I know AMD's are weaker on Zcash - but by how much approx?
I found only old data online.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: March 04, 2017, 10:55:42 PM
I assumed that NiceHash would keep up with their GUI miner and I was thrown off by the reported hash rate for a 1070 stated in the OP

I am getting 470-475 Sol/sec average on one of my 2 1070's and this is the crappy one at that

I would usually flip between NiceHash ZEC and EWBF ZCL for holding based on when the NiceHash exchange rate is within normal mining profitability or when they are shorting me in the earnings projection on the GUI. Thing is I can't make EWBF miner read in the NiceHash GUI if I were to use this for ZEC dumping

Seems like by calculations I make 2 dollars a month more by using EWBF even after factoring both the dev fee and the pool/exchange fee.

Wth, how are you getting 470+ on 1070?
Which brand do you have? Which settings? I can get like 420-430 at most with my KFA2 card.

What is going on? Have the tokens been issued?
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitShares 2.0 on: March 04, 2017, 08:43:40 PM
WHen will tokens/coins from ICO be added to accounts?

which ICO are you referring to?

Bitgate

better ask bitgate guys then? this is the bitshares thread.

yeah, but arent they the same team?
I'm kinda confused about that.

"

that's like saying that etherem and <insert whatever ico> are teams.

bitshares is the platform nothing more

sorry, I wasnt aware. Ok, I'll ask the devs.

"In the coming days we will send out reminders to everyone that did not send us their BitShares account. The BitGateCoin tokens will be issued with BitShares, so to claim your tokens you will need to create a BitShares account, and then send the account name to us. Using KFA2 1070 and cant go over 375sols with any OC. Currently running 375sols @ 1850core 3800mem undervolted heavily. Can some one guide me with this using MSI afterburner?

I have the same card, and I have currently roughly your settings, buy my mem clock is around 4000, I'm getting 400 sols out of it.
Up the mem.

Weird thing is, if I set only power limit to 75% with core 1800, mem 4300 it stays around 430 sols. To undervolt using MSI curve editor using same clocks but only lower fixed voltage it backs down to 375 sols. How can i undervolt that damn thing to stay @ 430 sols ?

I didnt fiddle with the curve, tbh. There is a guide over at crypto mining blog, but I must admit there are some weird stuff going on with both of my cards.
KFA2 cant keep the OC, if I push it to 2050+ generally it resets to 1518 after a few hours, and with gigabyte 970, I cant OC the memory clock not one bit - it just resets it to stock value immediately. Strange indeed.

wtf, how are you guys getting 120w with 1070, no matter what I try, I cant get that low of a reading (at wall).
My comp idles at around 80w, (1070 and 970). I use MSI afterburner, I have to cut power to -50% for both cards to get around 300w total consumption,
which is around 100w per card, then sols are at just 530 vs. 700+ with full OC (0.3.0b).

I found a sweet spot @ 650 sols and 380w @ wall, but still I cant get near your power consumption numbers...

296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gtx 1080Ti - $699. Faster than Titan XP. Thoughts? on: March 01, 2017, 08:31:29 AM
It draws 250W, that is really a lot. It should have equihash rate of like 1000 sols to justify the price and power draw, which I certainly dont believe it the case,
but I'm looking forward to first reviews.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are 1x8 pin GPU's ok for mining? on: March 01, 2017, 08:21:13 AM
The 1x8pin connector will supply up to 196w theoretically. Most of the GPUs are 170-180w with a single 8pin connector on them. The 1070s are extremely low on power consumption compared to most cards. Equihash for example, you'll see about 100w used. You have plenty of room for overclocking if power isnt an issue. Otherwise, lower the TDP and enjoy the cold cards.

To be honest, my comp at idle uses 95W, with 1070 and 970 at overclock it uses 450W, which seems damn high to me.
At underclock it goes down to just 410-420W, which is not really meaningful improvement, given how much hashrate is lost (15%).

Some days I managed to keep it at 370W stock clock, but I have no idea how I managed that, tbh.

...which are making me like $3-4 daily in btc (zec mining),which is very good, I guess.

mmmm
you are not considering power cost???

Yes, that is without power cost $0.6 per day roughly.

@gondel,
I'm going to order from hungarian company - www.iponcomp.com

guys hi,
how can one mine funk?

Any pools or instructions for solo mining?

thanks a bunch!

thank you!
btw, which mining software are you using for scrypt?

I'm getting 480 8 gigs, cause I can get it cheaply, but now I have 1070 and 970 which are making me like $3-4 daily in btc (zec mining),
which is very good, I guess.
But who knows how long will ZEC's moon last (not long I believe).

For everything else, obviously AMD is the king.
