281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 31, 2016, 11:54:58 PM
Only a few hours left before ico ends, can you guys tell me why i should invest in this? Why is waves a big deal and what can waves do that other blockchains can't ?  any input appreciated thx

No, make your own informed investments, asking BCT is a terrible idea. Go back to page one of thread, watch the hangouts with Tai Zen, read EVERYTHING you can, read it all, then do some thinking, then invest if you feel comfortable. But DO NOT buy hype hoping to make a quick buck. Good luck

I assume you didn't buy the hype, any reason why you bought? I read a little on waves and im pretty sure eth can do everything waves wants to do hence i am asking if someone can clear this up. Correct me if im wrong

You seriously didn't do any of the things I recommended...as Khaldrago mentioned its been discussed already. No I didn't buy the hype the sum was only 2000 BTC when I joined. I'll just say this project has big real world potential.

So none of you can tell me what waves can do that eth can't?  nice you guys are very informed  Smiley

Go watch Sashas first interview with Tai, he mentions it. I will check it tomorrow dont remember now.

when in the video? I really don't have time to go through all of it  thanks

Lmfao you don't have time to get informed but you want to be an investor...do you realize how asinine that is?

why try to derail initial question? What can waves do that eth can't? why ignore my question? why try to redirect me to some video instead of sharing your knowledge which is the purpose of a forum?

I'm just trying to help make you an informed investor instead of someone who takes financial advice from strangers on BCT...I also didn't derail your question I gave you a source for all the information you could need. Your just too lazy to watch it. As I said before good luck

Let me try and enlighten you here, ETH is a world computer where Dapps can be created and can facilitate all kind of application such as IoT etc.

Waves is a platform specializing on a certain set of tools to enable easy transfer between Fiat and crpto, a bridge if you will, among other real world uses.

If youre investing your hard earned cash into something, it really is worth doing your own independent due diligence.

if you see it has good fundementals and has the potential to succeed, invest, if not, done.

Good Luck.

Snuck in another batch of BTC just in time. Smiley

Same here lol, the blockchain is seriously lagging right now so didnt wanna leave it too late.

About 6500-7500 investors. About 10 times less investment. Total coins only 100M. It is a separate product. I don't think so...

I was being sarcastic. Waves does have a crap load of investors though.

 Grin Grin Grin Grin

if we think smart around 3000 of those 7000 investors own around 10btc or more in investment if price drops to 50k with the massive dump

all the investors had made a big profit then all together can scoop back WAVES re-investing in buy back 3000 people x 10btc = 30,000 btc will take WAVES TO OUR FIRST GOAL THAT IS $1 = 1 WAVE

but UNFORTUNELY  waves people dont have the same idea they just want to make waves go down to re-buy and profit then dump gain

Where are you finding the figures tracking the amount of users involved in the ICO so far?

by reading everyday people struggle with the idea of losing more waves in their account they reveal the amount of btc invested
and i know theres alot of people like me who invested all their bitcoins in WAVES is better to buy now at ICO price and not speculate for WAVES to come down to half of the ICO price and think it will be better if LISK didnt crashed that hard WAVES dont have to

Whatever happens, I'd say the price will stabilise at around 40-50 cents. Just a hunch Grin

Its funny to see investors trying to put people off investing into Waves to keep thier stack from shrinking. Thats a new kinda FUD

Exactly, very selfish!  Sad

Is there a way to see how many investors there are at this point, it'd be interesting to see what the average investment is

More than 5000 accounts atm.

Right, so thats about 3.5 - 4 BTC ($2,000) average investment then

When Lisk went Live, I dumped it asap. But Waves' potential and the speed at which Sasha is indicating he'll be moving at getting things done, I cant see myself dumping this one at all!

Too much to lose.

Sasha had an alternative to Shapeshift all ready to go but didn't succeed with it due to funding issues, so he's already proved he's ahead of the curve.

I dont think he's gonna let this one get away from him, and with the amount of funding Waves now has,you can expect Sasha not to hang around.

This could be a dollar by christmas. . . Cool

Much better project then Lisk (Crypti fork)

Couldn't agree more. Not taking anything away from isk, its an intreresting project, but Lisk is built to grow exponentially in today's current conditions. Lisk is built to grow over time with any real world use yet to be realised.

Let's get this show on the road!

I get the impression that Sasha has it all worked out and has big things lined up in the very near future, if you watch him in the hangout videos you can literally feel his frustration of having to wait for the ICO to be over so he can crack on with things. I havent ever seen so much confidence in a dev or a dev willing to be so public, except for Valtalik Smiley

The man's got a plan and I think we're all gonna see a good plan come together. . .

Hi All,

I invested a little on the very first day as a speculative bet, but over time and having kept an eye on the development during the ICO as well as watching the Hangout Videos, learning about the Myselium integration etc, I am going to be investing a lot more befor the ICO ends.

Here is my reasoning, The year of the blockchain is 2016, we are seeing banks and other financial institutions as well as the population as a whole coming round to what blockchain / BTC/ crypto (Mostly BTC) really is and I believe it is being taken more and more seriously, hell!, I even bought Silver at provident metals online, and to say the transaction was easy is an understatement.

Seeing the benefits BTC as well as other crypto can offer and seeing the adoption curve really ramping up soon, I see the need for such a platform such as Waves, where Fiat meets Crypto effortlessly and making this process easy for the masses with something as simple as a Lite Client Version that even my mother could install.

But where I see this platform coming into it's own, and the value really becoming apparent is with Remittances.

Remittance is expensive, whatever way you look at it, it's not cheap. If I can send money through the waves platform in the form of BTC to someone to receive US dollar, Euros, whatever, and send it by paying a fee of 10 cents or 1-2 dollars, I would use it, not only for the cost but for the convenience also. This is where the token will have values, at least in the remittance aspect. I dont know about $10 dollars like some have said, but 1-2 dollars would be reasonable.

I see Western Union, Moneygram as the Blockbuster Video sort of company, on the verge of being disrupted, completely. And I believe that Sasha has the platform, the vision and the perseverance to actually get this done, or at least have a very good shot at it. He's explained exactly what he aims to do and has been open to take questions via an interview for a full 2 hours, and all questions were answered in a satisfactory way, at least in my opinion.

I did not see this with Max from Lisk, no offence to Max at all, but as a comparison, Sasha has been completely open and from what I can tell, honest about what his intentions are and about his plan giving realistic timelines. This alone enabled me to put some trust in him and his project.

Compared to something like Lisk and other projects, it will be years before any of the Dapps etc get any traction and have the possibility of mass adoption. The difference I see with Waves is that it is a tool which is for the here and now and will be able help facilitate the growing crypto adoption by making it accessible to all as well as make it easier and cheaper to send money around with a clean, user-friendly, functional interface.

I think the world is ready for such a platform and I believe that Waves could just be it.

I'd be interested to hear other peoples views about where they see the potential strengths in Waves.

Wishing you all the best Sasha & Co. I'm sure this will be a success.

Very good perspective and I agree.

Peope analyze until they are paralyzed.

Gather the facts and take the risk or move on...

A lot of speculating is involved. But it turns from speculating to outright being a moonbat crazy loon. This is when you need to walk away and say this isnt for me.

Cryptos is constantly changing. It changes faster than dog years and you need to deal with it.

Sounds like a lot of people on here have champagne taste on a beer budget.

The only thing thats playing on my mind is that the BTC seems to gathering momentum, and so I see this as a potential risk to over investing in this ICO.

I do however think that this should not pose too much of a threat as this project / platform is being made to facilitate BTC use and adoption.

Also, i take comfort in the fact that the project is well funded and Sasha has publicly stated that he will be initiating a buy wall to keep the price above the ICO price should it take a tumble when launched (unlikely in my opinion). So the element of risk is somewhat reduced, which is why I am on the verge of putting a bit more into it.

I just need to ask, I want t o send BTC from Poloniex Exchange to the ICO. Is this possible, or is it not advisable?

Thanks in advance  Smiley

It is always recommended to send from your personal wallet but yes you can send directly from exchanges also.

Cheers!

I still cant send any of my LISK from my online Wallet. When I try and send any, the amount shows as a transaction for about five minutes, before reverting back to the original balance, so not showing any sent LISK and the transaction details completely disappear???

I have used both https://lisknode.grumlin.com/dashboard & https://login.lisk.io/, and they both act in the same way.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there a known issue currently??

Can anyone help???  Huh Huh

Try our node https://liskcz.eu/, it is fast :-)

Thanks man, but how do i know this link is safe?? No offence, I just dont know if its normal to have all of these different online addresses to access LISK accounts, not exactly technically gifted you could say so if anyone else can confirm this link is alright to use, I'd appreciate it.

Cheers! Smiley

setup the docker install, its extremly easy to do m8, see here https://lisk.io/documentation?i=lisk-docs/DockerInstall

Thanks, have tried that but says I need a 64 bit computer. Its really beginning to grind me that none of the online wallets work, I can access my LISK but cannot send any, and this is ever since the launch!!!??

Is there a known issue currently being resolved?

And also, I'm not great with this sort of stuff.

Surely there must be a working version of an online wallet.

Why sending money from https://login02.lisk.io, https://login01.lisk.io https://login.lisk.io is returning funds in few minutes

Are those web-logins all on completely different blockchains or what.

I sent 10 Lisk from login02.lisk.io to poloniex as a test, more than an hour later and stil 0 confirmations.

Then I log in on login.lisk.io and it doesn't show the transaction anymore. I make a new transaction to poliniex, 2 Lisk this time, and again after half an hour still 0 confirmations.

When right now I log in on login02.lisk.io it shows me the 10 Lisk transaction with 0 confirmations, and when I log in on login.lisk.io I only see the 2 Lisk transaction (with 0 confirmations).

On login01.lisk.io I don't see any transaction at all.

I was logged in at both login02.lisk and login.lisk and made a transaction. The balances where not showing the same, it was as if they where independent. I made another transfer atempt, but after 20 minutes the balance was restored again. So things are still pretty borked with the web wallets. Blockchain clogging up? 0.1 Lisk is too small a fee right now?

I'm having exactly the same problem, I'm trying all the web wallet addresses and still the same, can't send any LISK, transaction just doesnt happen. It's been 10 hours now since launch, this issue should be resolved right now + the Docker Toolbox only works on 64bit, so I cant use this either.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this mess??
