Would it be smarter to just mine electroneum? I think thats what everyone is using cryptonight nicehash for.. I just don't know the profitability of mining it vs nicehash.. for now I switched back to mining xmr but may look more into electroneum

Well, that depends on whether you trust electroneum really. Kudos to their marketing, but I'm a bit too thick to understand what it's actually 'for' - as in the problem it's solving over others...

I meant i wonder if it would be more profitable to mine it (electroneum) and sell it asap for btc every payout on the cryptonia exchange than to mine xmr. not interesting in holding the coin itself

For cryptonight, both my gpus and cpu are showing up as 0kh/s on nicehash while they work fine on nanopool. anyone have any ideas whats wrong? my equihash gpu is working on nicehash though

for nicehash cryptonight I'm using amd stak xmr and cpu stak xmr
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is undervolting bad for your cards, short and longerm .... on: November 02, 2017, 12:38:00 PM
i think it's more likely that undervolting may increase card lifespan

Interested in one but do you know how the warranty may transfer? usually they require a receipt and if it has some other guys name on it idk how that would work

289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 19, 2017, 04:23:40 PM
Is there stable intensity above 1800/1600 at all? I didn't have to restart the rig for more than 2 weeks at these. Then yesterday, I somehow lost 100H/s and I thought - lets do it and restart. Applied some higher intensities - first 2016/1600. Then 1900/1600. But I keep getting crashes after a while. Also, at 2016/1600, the cards had worse hashrate than at 1900/1600. Still, if I have to restart and reset every few hours, that ain't gonna cut it, 50-60H/s on top of what I was getting at 1800/1600 makes not much sense if its not stable.

How's the situation with your Vega rigs guys?

Also - is there anyone using 4 Vega + 2 Nvidia cards, that can share some wisdom on the matter ? What nvidia, what programs etc. As I dont think we are going to get new drivers, and I can simply forget about using HBCC on all 6 cards in the rig ...

P.S. Talking about Vega 64.

I'm using this nvidia miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1707546.4980 and using msi afterburner to set the tdp and core clock for the nvidia.

I use 2016 and 1736 intensities for vega

Anyone know how to lock down the Fan speeds on a Vega 64?

Use overdriventool or wattman and set the min and target/max fan speed and apply

Will XMR mining for vega's be implemented? new linux driver came out yesterday

Wow finally an update! Anyone know if we can pay for the rest of the preorder for those of us who already did the partial downpayment?
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 18, 2017, 07:57:09 PM
anyone try mining xmr with vega on linux with the new driver? I'm wondering if it works, if HBCC works and the hashrate is as high as windows.. and if more than 4 cards can use HBCC on linux
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 17, 2017, 12:31:09 PM
Wattman is part of AMD drivers. Open up AMD’s Radeon Settings app and click the Gaming tab, then Global Settings, and finally the Global WattMan tab.

Who is the best for vega ? wattman or afterburner ? thanks .
Wattman + overdriventool + notepad with regedit are the best

Thanks for this information. What does notepad mean?

I assume it means you get edit the registry file with notepad to customize clocks, voltages, etc.. Well that's what I did anyway Tongue

Just wanted to show you guys my first Vega64 mining rig. Supposed to be 8 x Vega 64, but one of them was not stable, had too many crashes/hangs, have to return it tomorrow.

After some days of struggling (RAM was also broken), I managed to start my rig only with a ATX PSU, so currently I have Delta PSU powering GPU's and a borrowed Enermax 1700W ATX PSU powering the MB and SSD.

Rig with 7 x Vega64:

Power at wall:

Hashrate for XMR with xmr-stak-amd miner (for some reasons on only 4 I could activate HBCC so 4 are hashing with ~1800h/s and 3 with ~1400h/s):

Thanks a lot all of you for helping me Smiley

May want to consider splitting this into 2 rigs so you get full hashrate on all the cards
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 15, 2017, 04:56:25 PM
hi all, tell me which is the best card from all the Vega:  GIGABYTE, MSI, Sapphire or HIS ?

billhinge tell me which is card you use and what miner you use?

The original AMD FE from July, no brand, xmr-stak-amd

Apparently, the RX Vega refresh in 2018 is going to be on 12 nano metres, as opposed to 14 nano metres.

So, remember to have some capital for the upgraded GPU line next year.

Any word on which quarter of the year the refresh is aimed for?
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 15, 2017, 01:06:32 PM
Maybe I misunderstood it but I thought it was just the nvidia software/drivers won't be able to OC but 3rd party tools like afterburner will be able to.. maybe I was incorrect
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: October 15, 2017, 12:55:18 PM

What are the settings of the vega in your screenshot?

The screenshot shows a Sapphire Vega 56 with following settings:

Core clock: -5%
MemClock: 990 Mhz
PowerLimit: +24
Fan Min Speed: 3000 RPM

The voltage control is still on auto.

The GPU consumes 260 watts.

a V56 with 990 mem clock?? wow mine starts having artifacts at 975 (with the v56 bios and timings)
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 14, 2017, 10:05:51 PM
I have been running my 1 x 56 for a little while now and I'm pretty happy.
Gonna build a 4 x 56 rig. Any recommendations for the Mobo?

TB350 so you can get ryzen cpu and cpu mine with it

You guys see that the 1070 ti is supposed to be launching later this month? I wonder if it will have the same sols/watts as all the current nvidia lineup.. either way the price per hashrate is probably going to be great at $420 and closer to 1080 specs
