281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Scam: A guide by Emerald's "picasso" on: June 16, 2013, 07:24:53 PM
It's hardly untraceable, it's right in the bloody source code:

Code:
    if(nHeight == 1)
    {
        nSubsidy = 400000 * COIN;
    }

Alf?

How about you tie the value of the coin to in-game goods? Say a diamond is worth 100CRC (I assume you're the craftcoin guy I've been working with), so the value of the coin on exchanges will never exceed what someone is willing to spend on an in-game item.

Could theoretically make it the most stable coin on exchanges.

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin, heavily premined, 1.2+ million coins premined!! on: June 16, 2013, 06:35:16 PM
Guys, I have an idea:

Since StableCoin is open source, someone with the skills could clone StableCoin and launch the new coin without the premine. StableCoin hasn't reached any exchange yet, so it's totally doable, in my opinion. I know I would mine a coin like that.

Any dev up to this task?

by the way, I find the original dev just ignoring about this subject quite disturbing. Why not speak up and defend your coin, if I had the skills I would totally make the clone without the premine just to piss them off!

/rant off.

He's not in here because he's not a dumbass, arguing with idiots like number37 is a waste of time. He already addressed the premine, there's nothing to defend here.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Emerald, the new alt coin is launched!! on: June 16, 2013, 06:32:32 PM
I dont understand why you people are turning your hashing power towards this shit, when you could use it to be mining something that will actually make you money, like BTC LTC, PXC etc.... something with value.

Because this will make people money, though not the people complaining about issues in here. There is a reason why people "pump and dump" after all.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Emerald, the new alt coin is launched!! on: June 16, 2013, 06:28:53 PM
I already declared the premined is for bounty, giveaways, services etc.

Sorry, but "I'm using it for bounties and shit, right" is not a declaration, it's a cop-out. Tell us exactly where each and every coin will be going or just stop trying.

PS: using  Grin all the time only makes your comments look less believable.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Emerald, the new alt coin is launched!! on: June 16, 2013, 06:18:39 PM

    {
        nSubsidy = 400000 * COIN;
    }

My my, and with 10K in bounties that leaves you with a pretty 390K in your pocket. I don't suppose you have any reasonable explanation for aaalll these coins, hmm?

nothing shocking there:
- Arguntum took 200K "bounty" with average coin per block 2.5
- Stablecoin took 1.2 million for some non-exist service.

Emerald (5 emerald per block) took 400K for bounty, giveaways, and all services, is that excessive?? Grin

We stated that upfront clearly, nothing to hide. Don't mine if you don't like it. Wink

Just because a service does not exist yet doesn't mean that it isn't coming, so far the stablecoin dev has held true to his word.

In my book, "giveaways" are never an excuse for premine, and mysterious undisclosed "services" are not an acceptable explanation.

Can you tell us exactly which specific services each and every coin is being used for? This is 1.14% of the entire supply here, way more than either ARG or SBC.

Damn, I can't actually target the adbox without targeting the entire threads borders =\

Looks like the white's staying there.
Screenshot? Maybe I can help.

Nothing anyone can do about it unfortunately, at least not with client-side CSS. The only unique identifier for the adbox specifically is dynamically generated with PHP. So the identifier is different every time you load a page.

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] XenCoin XNC | Official Development Thread on: June 16, 2013, 09:25:28 AM
premine or not? lol

Why do people keep making comments like this? We don't know shit, you won't know shit until he tells us shit. Posting "X or not? lol" is just pointless clut--

*realizes who he's talking too*

Oh, it's you, nothings getting through that head, nvm -_-
292  Other / Meta / Re: New Bitcointalk Dark Theme! on: June 16, 2013, 09:15:16 AM
the other dark theme, the one i use currently, can be selected in your options under profile.

Y'know, I've been looking for a built-in dark theme since i joined and somehow didn't see that 'till just now. I'm fucking blind.

However, escrow.ms is right, that one's terrible. Aside from the lack of red it exemplifies just about everything else I hate in a dark theme.

Ah, thanks, much better than my screenshot.

Any screenshot available mate?

Here you go, I'll be fixing the white box where the adds go in a sec, didn't notice it earlier.

there already is a dark theme.

Where exactly?

I usually don't like other dark themes anyway as they tend to go all red and glossy and "cool". I just want something to give my eyes a bit of a break.

I guess it could be a security risk. I'm I wrong?

Not exactly much I can do to your system through CSS...

You can view the source, it's nothing but colour and image changes.
296  Other / Meta / New Bitcointalk Dark Theme! on: June 16, 2013, 08:37:17 AM
I made a dark theme for the forums, you can get it here: http://userstyles.org/styles/89138/bitcointalk-dark?r=1371371413

Might do some tweaks to it later, let me know if you have any issues/suggestions.

should add stablecoin, the graphs will look pretty.. best launch of any coin so far

Stablecoin added.
I hate to disappoint you, but it doesn't look pretty.  The genesis block has a coinbase transaction worth 1250000SBC.  That's 80% of the supply.
http://cryptometer.org/stablecoin_96_hour_charts.html

On the contrary I think it looks beautiful, aside from the genesis block and the launch spike everythings going just about perfect. Smoothest chart i've seen.

It was funny. The first time. The second time, it just makes you look like a loser.

Thank, thank you all. This was a wonderful performance, best laughs all week!

I wonder what you'll think up next.
