281  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC passes $5,000 USD milestone on: October 12, 2017, 03:14:51 PM
Any theories on what caused the sudden spike in price? Do you think the price will hold over the next few weeks? Any speculations for the future?

Big day for BTC, I remember reading threads in 2015 about how "one day BTC will be over 5k USD"... today's that day

Yes i very happy to this price of bitcoin. I always used to think bitcoin price when will over 5k USD. Really i am very exciting to this price. I think bitcoin price also increase next week. When it's price (10k-13k) USD i buy a house.

Lmao, 10k-13k USD for 1 bitcoin ? That is huge dude and I don't even think it will reach $10k in the next year. But i'm still happy for today, the price of bitcoin finally surpass $5,000 right now, actually I also don't know why the bitcoin price suddenly increase so high though.
What's so complicated? Been waiting all. This is only the beginning of the climb. The price will rise at least to the fork. Too many expectations from this process. We all remember the first leap this year and hope for the same behavior bitcoin now. I am very afraid that after the lift will be a great fall. Be careful.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Is Really A Good Investment or Not? on: October 12, 2017, 02:58:58 PM
ICO is a good investment. The only problem is that it is very difficult to guess what the project is promising. Unfortunately a lot of offerings on the market ICO are scams. This is a problem. For this reason, the Chinese government imposed a ban on
the business and sets strict controls on the use of bitcoin.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion about Ethereum, ICOs and the future on: October 12, 2017, 02:48:14 PM
In my opinion, Ethereum has a lot of opportunities in future. Ethereum smart contracts will implement into a real business, and it would be a second technical revolution. For example, Confideal project makes daily work of small business, large enterprises easier with their technology. It is an anonymous service, which allows you to carry out quick, cheap and safe transactions without the participation of third parties. The platform is based on Ethereum Smart Contracts that are optimized for use by non-programmers.
How can it help business? All cryptocurrencies there is one major drawback. It is their volatility. Lending business is generally not possible under such conditions. Trading is also not profitable because no one knows what will happen tomorrow. Falling prices may last for several months.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many percentages of your assets are you willing to invest to cryptocurrency? on: October 10, 2017, 09:24:52 AM
I had no savings until I started cryptocurrencies. Now I have enough money for a normal existence. All my savings I kept in cryptocurrency. I translate in Fiat as much coins as I need. No Bank I can not offer such income so I don't keep Fiat in the banks. At the moment, this strategy yielded very good results.
285  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Price of Bitcoin Will Collaspe ....UMMM on: October 10, 2017, 09:19:59 AM
FUD

I don't know why people read and spread such FUD, especially for threads made by accounts with very few posts, clearly made especially for this purpose.
But life is fun, let's grab some popcorn and watch a new episode of FUD and market manipulation.
If Bitcoin will crash so badly, it'll come back easily again. It's getting better and better on this.
I also think that such rumors are spread by those who are interested in order to undermine the credibility of bitcoin and to bring down the price on the market. But I am sure that all of their efforts will be in vain. All perfectly understand that now the price will go up and you need to be a complete idiot to now sell bitcoins.
286  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Wondering about Taxes and legal stuff in USA on: October 09, 2017, 11:01:22 AM
I think that the emergence of crypto-currencies will push the country to changes in the tax laws. Why pay income tax if you keep the money in the Bank and stimulate the economy of their country. Besides, there's always a way to hide your income. When you spend money you pay the sales tax anyway because the taxes included in the price. Governments want a few times to tax your money, and this leads to the fact that people don't want to pay taxes.
287  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Have people been forced to pay tax over Bitcoin yet? on: October 09, 2017, 10:54:53 AM
Quite curious if this has been the case. Obviously I'm hoping it haven't been the case.

Tax is something nobody can evade for long without consequences especially in developed countries like USA and other Western nations where tracking technologies can effectively locate people who might have committed some frauds on their tax returns. Tax is an obligation and even if we don't want to this is something we have to do.

Forced? Maybe that can be the case since there are laws implemented to collect taxes even if we don't want to pay. But this is something we really have no choice with. So instead of thinking if we are forced or not...maybe we should reorienting ourselves that we are good citizens of the land hence we are paying our share for the government.
Even in America you don't have to pay taxes if you earn income in another country. There is agreement between the two countries for avoidance of double taxation. This scheme used offshore zones. What prevents you to earn bitcoins outside the us and buy goods via the Internet not to violate the laws.
288  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legality of BTC gambling sites in regulated countries. on: October 09, 2017, 10:50:22 AM
If a person wants to play on the site to which access is forbidden in his country it is possible to do it via TOR or VPN. Such bans are not effective. By law the government may claim the provider that he was not provided access for the people of this country but you are not an offender if use of these sites for yourself.
289  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legal bitcoin or illegal bitcoin on: October 09, 2017, 10:45:56 AM
Can you guyz vote if what are we doing now is legal or not
Coz these can be a serious like having a marijuana or drugs in our pockets

And if these bitcoin became a currency i think it will be have a tax and
Why do we eager to earn virtual money than real money.. simply because the rate is higher than the real ones and it is easy to earn if i am not mistaken😎

What you guyz think

Newbie

Bitcoin is not itself illegal, but what makes it prohibited from other countries is its composition being decentralized. Due to this, people are taking advantage of it by using it as the main medium of exchange under the dark web for illegal transactions. There are quite a number of countries who ban the usage of bitcoin because there were reported to be numerous cases of it on their country. The bad part is that, this creates a stigma on the reputation of bitcoin, thus decreasing the chances of attracting new investors and users thinking that bitcoin is illegal.
It seems to me that money laundering using bitcoin in fact it happens much less frequently than is the case with Fiat. The reason for the spread of such rumors and prohibitions quite different. Governments control their citizens through Fiat. At any moment they can devalue money and blame a dissatisfied power. Monitor people whose income is not dependent on the government is much more difficult. This is the main reason why governments ban bitcoin.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possible Bitcoin manipulation by banks on: October 08, 2017, 09:44:08 AM
The price of the entire market , BTC and all alt coins , is now totally controlled by one large blue whale who have many tens of billions of dollars to play with and this whale is skimming massive profits using trading bots/volatility software. I would say that 90% plus of all of the trading volume is the whales creating activity in the market place. The exchanges allow these whales to operate on their platforms b/c it is more profit for them. See topic below.

The Truth about Cryptocurrency

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1931694.0
Maybe you're right but what difference does it make. People who have the ability to trade on the bitcoin exchange happy that the roller coaster can make good money and they are not whales. B prevents will learn to understand the trends and copy the behavior of robots if there are any.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM ICO!!! on: October 08, 2017, 09:33:25 AM
Any project can be a Scam. It does not depend on the desire of its founders. It depends will the project support people. From this we can conclude that the success of any project depends, first and foremost from us. There are many people who made ICO and there are many people who have lost their money. The chances are 50 to 50.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My First ICO: Electroneum on: October 08, 2017, 09:28:41 AM
Good looking project. The fact that this thread no negative opinion for me is a good sign. I also hope to gain from this project. But I want to be objective and to write a full review I'll wait for receive income. Now the concern I do not feel.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fork time / bloody october? on: October 08, 2017, 09:21:20 AM
This is what I'm thinking . . . the upside on Alts once BTC stabilises could be massive! Accumulate more during this period while they're cheap . . .

My only reservation is there is soo much competition in the market these days due to the vast number of ICO's . . . which Alts to pick!?

Also when this pump will be I don't know.
The expected pump for alts wont be in the next few days IMO but instead it might happen if BTC stabilize for quite a while for people to begin to seek profit in altcoin market again. The ICO's need to stop coming for a while, it needs to be lessened. The current number of ongoing ICO is too much for market and most of it is either crappy or scam so people must be careful in investing into them. Probably by December or before, altcoin market will pick up a rising trend.
I think it all depends on the price of bitcoins. Now we see that the price of bitcoin returned to its original position and stabilized. The near future to expect growth of the price. Similarly, the market altcoins. Always altcoins follow bitcoin because it was and will be the locomotive of the market of cryptocurrencies.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Will Likely Resume Cryptocurrency Trading by Licensing Bitcoin Exchanges on: October 07, 2017, 01:30:58 PM
It seems to me that it is too early to rejoice. If the Chinese government will start to control the cryptocurrency market could lead to falling prices. We understand that this is done in order to take taxes. Accordingly, increasing the price of mining. The rise in the price of the transaction. Many negative consequences of this step can be. They will definitely affect the price.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much would it cost to build mining rig? on: October 07, 2017, 11:08:28 AM
Hi bitcointalk, I want to build mining rig but I dont have the slightest idea how will i build one and how much would it cost me. Currently I have $ 2000. Would it suffice to build mining rig?

Yes, $2000 is probably about the average investment in mining equipment. With that amount you could build a nice rig of 4 to 6 cards and the associated support hardware. Much of the choice will come down to which coins you want to mine. Ethereum typically favors AMD and Equihash (Zcash) favors Nvidia, but they both can mine the other algorithm in a pinch.

Typical ETH build:

5 x RX580 8 GB - $310 ea or $1,550 total
1 x mobo with support for 5 or 6 GPUs - ~$120
1 x CPU (Intel G4400) - ~$50
1 x RAM 4 GB - ~ $30
1 x 120 GB SSD - ~$50
5 x PCIe USB risers - $50
1 x 1000 watts PSU - $150

This would put you right at your $2,000 budget. You would also need some type of frame to hold everything so you might need another $50 or so in materials.

A Zcash (Equihash) build would be much the same except you would pick some Nvidia cards such as the 1070's or perhaps the 1060's instead. The 1070's run around $500 so you could run 3 x of them and the 1060's go for $200 for the 3 GB version and $350 for the 6 GB version so you could run 5 or even 6x (if your motherboard supports it).
In your list you can save about $ 150 if you buy RX 580 4Gb. The rate of extraction will remain the same and the savings is approximately 10% of the cost of the GPU. You can buy a second hand motherboard with support for 4 GPU. A few of these cards will cost less than one with support 6 GPU. The same situation with power supplies. With the current profitability of mining coins need any saving.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone can test these 6 Pcie slots Ryzen mobos? on: October 07, 2017, 10:31:10 AM
Why connect 6 GPU on the new hardware? For this money you can buy 4 old comp and 2 server power supply for additional power to the GPU. This will allow you for the same money to connect to the work 12-16 GPU. In order not to spend extra money you should always calculate the options with second hand equipment.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any GPU Mining Historians Here? on: October 07, 2017, 10:19:37 AM
It is too profitable market for GPU vendors, so I think they will stimulate market if the mining profitability will continue to decrease, for example by buying reasonable amount of GPU-mined coins like ETH or maybe ZEC. It is also possible that new coins will be created. So I don't think that market is really dying it is just currently stuck.
This year, shares of AMD rose by 10%. This is a very good result. These results gave them the miners. The price of the GPU market is kept at a high level so I am sure that this method of mining coins will exist for a long time. In order to increase profitability you need to constantly switch between different coins.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: October 07, 2017, 10:05:36 AM
Many altcoins have no future. Only some of them have no prospects to live a long time. But who knows the future? All believe in a long life of bitcoin. While no one can be sure of this. Altcoins can be compared with flowers. Every spring they bloom. Encouraging us to fall and then to die in spring to bloom again.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What You Need To Know To Get FREE Bitcoin Gold During The Fork. on: October 06, 2017, 01:13:50 PM
During the first bifurcation 1 August, I didn't do anything. I keep all my bitcoins in electronic wallets. Two days I didn't do transaction until I saw the forum post that everything was normal and the transactions run without problems. I see no reason to change tactics now.
300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big European disruption coming will help BTC reach $6000+ soon on: October 06, 2017, 10:47:31 AM
Bitcoin is in no way affiliated with the Euro. The Euro's problems affect only the Europeans. Bitcoin is not dependent on other currencies. I do think that the constant growth of bitcoin is because the dollar is falling in price. Due to the fact that Americans hands controls its economy we are not seeing inflation but it is progressing. The same thing and the Euro.
