2801  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC where are they? on: December 03, 2012, 06:16:08 AM
I stopped giving a crap for a couple weeks but now I'm back and now BFL's website has actual pictures of the finished product.  That means they have some chips, are assembling and testing some, and are obviously close to shipping.  They might even be packaging right now.  Their original statement that they later buried was that they were realistically going to ship right before Christmas.  Then they said October so everyone placed their pre-orders with their company instead of their competition.  Then they backpedaled and kept saying "well, we don't know though" and "it might be later" and tada, we're back at reality where we started from.

Welcome back to giving a crap. Tough to be sure of anything with this company, but last I heard they were awaiting chips and expected them next week, though there was a post saying they'd been delayed again till nearer the end of the month. Josh seems to think they could still get the chips, assemble, test, and ship before the end of the year, but I seriously doubt it given that everything seems to take far longer with this company than they say it will. Plus it'd be right up against Christmas, good luck getting everyone to focus on work.
2802  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who Thinks BFL Will Release There ASICS Before BTC on: December 03, 2012, 04:24:57 AM
does BFL have the chips yet? seems it'd be easier to complete the production process using 90nm rather than 65, but i'm far from an expert in the field..

No chips yet. Pooch screwed. Avalon & bASIC will eat their lunch.
2803  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 03, 2012, 02:03:21 AM
Cheesy Exactly.Lower power consumption for the LONG haul baby  Cool

Plus,BFL gives a power adapter & USB cable, with the "others" you have to BUY an adapter or use a PSU & BUY cables to adapt the device to the PSU & USB  Tongue

I don't know what power consumption will be, I know BFL's estimate of power consumption. I only hope it's a whole lot more accurate than their estimates for their FPGA products. Yeah got lots of PSUs and cables, not worried, neither would I give up 12Gh and $230 more for a power supply and cable.

Yet you don't give them credit for that... hardly impartial...

-- Smoov

Who said I was impartial?

Couple things, first, everyone increased speeds awhile back(bASIC, BFL, & Avalon) and actually it was at that point that the Jally receeded in popularity because it received less of a speed bump than other products...including BFL's own products. Secondly this is off topic as the comment I made was in regard to shipping(OT).

Can you define the word "trolling"? I thought I was discussing.

Actually I can't think of anyone or anything I hate.
2806  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 03, 2012, 01:29:41 AM
rofl if you havent ordered from them, WTF are you doing whining and bithing about them?

Isn't that what this thread is about? BFL shipping plans? Categorize my comments however you like, but I didn't see the sign that said I had to be a customer of BFL's to comment on their...fail.

Fair enough. Now I guess I'm going to go troll on bASIC's threads....... Wink

Okay, have fun.

You guys have spent too much time listening to Josh. On topic comments are not trolling. You may not like the comments and you may not agree with the comments, but everyone you disagree with is not a troll.

Ohhh!  Ok, so we are playing the "I am going to make up numbers game."  Got it... in that case, Tom is about 4.5 months over due, since it's completely unrealistic that he'll be shipping in the middle of January.  So there you go!  I didn't know we were pulling numbers out of our ass.

So there you go folks, the official numbers according to CreativeX:

BFL = 3 months late
bASIC = 4.5 months late

Hey someone's got to come up with an honest shipping projection for BFL products, you're obviously not doing it. BTW if I were actually projecting when you guys will actually get around to shipping I'd take late February or early March.

Dang...and after it was SO gonna be different than BFL's FPGA product launch fail.
2809  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 03, 2012, 01:10:43 AM
If I ordered from BFL I wouldn't want to hear about it either.
2810  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 03, 2012, 12:54:36 AM
That's not a feature exclusive to BFL.
2811  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 03, 2012, 12:52:43 AM
Yep, you are too stupid to understand math.

End of October - End of December = 2 months.  We may ship before the end of December, therefore it's less than 2 months.  In any event, it's not even close to 3.  You are an idiot for sure!  You just can't make a post without lying, can you?

Herp Derp!  CreativeX apparently things October to December = 3 months!

lol yeah right. You'll get the chips on hopefully possibly maybe the fuzzy week of December 11 and ship out products on Xmas day. Get real Josh. Just release a real shipping schedule and stop with the game playing.
2812  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 03, 2012, 12:45:35 AM
Oh my, there you go again lying CreativeX.  Is it even possible for you to make a post that doesn't contain a lie?

BFL is exactly 1 month overdue at the moment.  We were suppose to ship by the end of October, it's now the beginning of December, that is 1 month.  Or are you just too stupid to understand basic math?  50/50 on the lying/being too stupid thing.

I'll take that...if you admit you're too stupid to read.

BFL projected shipping(currently) = 3 months overdue. Compensation to customers? NADA.
bASIC projected shipping = 1.5 months overdue. Compensation to customers? 33% more speed FREE

I bolded the rest of it to make it easier for you. No charge. Wink

Keep milking them power numbers bud. Isn't that another thing BFL blatantly lied about with their FPGA products? Oops, perhaps it was just another oversight. Perhaps your FPGA products needed some clock buffers. Grin

2813  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 03, 2012, 12:41:15 AM
Yeah, they should update it to early March and get ahead of the curve. Shocked

Cracks me up......bASIC drops the ball and you still talk sh!t bout BFL. Too funny.

Well the thread *IS* about BFL shipping, and they have already "dropped the ball" several times. BFL is very clearly running the same playbook they ran for their soft FPGA release. That is to say they're repeatedly lying about projected shipping schedules. Happy to entertain you though. Lemme sum it up.

BFL projected shipping(currently) = 3 months overdue. Compensation to customers? NADA.
bASIC projected shipping = 1.5 months overdue. Compensation to customers? 33% more speed FREE

...oh and instead of repeatedly lying about a new fairy tale shipping schedule every couple weeks, BTCFPGA simply manned up and threw the chips on the table...so to speak.

I think Avalon is actually ahead of everyone else at this point with their first pre-order. They may well ship first, followed by bASIC and then BFL.
2816  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: December 02, 2012, 03:25:44 PM
what i think is that they are working on getting the asics done, same as the other companys that are trying to get there products out.
it might take a few weeks, it might take a year for all i know.
but im not going to look at dates the companys set as "estimated for delivery" and go mental when they are not done by then.
cause well, its estimated

So, what if a company were using your understanding nature to spit out estimated shipping dates that were unacheivable, but that kept you strung along? For instance they could announce a shipping date of October early in the year to ramp up enthusiasm and pre-order $$$, then as October approached they could continuously push that back by a few weeks at a time to keep you from cancelling. Said company might actually ship in February or March of the following year, after their competitors, but might be able to capture a much larger portion of the market than they would have had they been forthcoming with their production schedule. That would suck right...if such a company existed?

My point is that BFL should give a date, since they are designing the product, then we don't have to guess like you just did. Even if they don't know for certain, I bet they still know more than the rest of us.

Course they know more than they're saying, but if they told you what they knew you'd likely cancel and demand a refund.
2817  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just what is a clock buffer anyway? on: December 02, 2012, 05:48:12 AM
Whatever, you are a joke Elden.  Just like Puerto Libre and CreativeX you have to make up "facts" to bash BFL.  You are pathetic. Unlike Puerto Libre and CreativeX, I had some respect for you until it became clear that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and you're still pissed off BFL rained all over your parade last year.

Hey welcome to the club Elden! Seems you're also off Josh's Christmas list, grats!
2818  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just what is a clock buffer anyway? on: December 01, 2012, 09:06:59 PM
Yeah, and BFL will still be shipping before bASIC.  As for cheaper per G/h, good luck with that, but you already knew that BFL would match competitive offerings.  Enjoy your 200w piece o' junk that is obsolete before it even ships!  Oh, tell me again how much power or even what kind of power connector bASIC is going to be using?  Do you get a PSU with your unit? No?  You mean you have to BUY a PSU, cables, etc...?  Really?  So I guess that $1069.00 isn't really the REAL cost of running a bASIC is it?  Yay for hidden costs!  At least BFL is up front and honest about the cost of a unit.

I hope for the sake of BFL customers that turns out to be true...unlike nearly everything else you've said with regard to BFL shipping dates.

Since when is BFL up front or honest about anything? If you guys had told everyone in September that October shipping was a fairy tale, and the reality was a "fuzzy" hopefully maybe January shipping date, how many would've cancelled then? Now that's some HUGE hidden cost. I have a dozen PSUs on hand thanks, not worried about it, but I appreciate your concern. Cheesy Perhaps your concern would be better utilized getting your own very late product out the door? Oh that's right you said January all along...cept when you didn't. Roll Eyes
2819  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just what is a clock buffer anyway? on: December 01, 2012, 08:35:04 PM
Nope, but you knew that. Worked about as well as FIFTH WEEK OF NOVEMBER worked for your customers. I only ordered in mid October however. Additionally since bASIC01 is SO much cheaper per Gh(45.8% less) than your company's overpriced products I'm good thanks. Grin Now if you guys could just drop the ball ONE more time...CHA-CHING! You can do it Josh!
2820  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just what is a clock buffer anyway? on: December 01, 2012, 08:18:38 PM

BFL locked up pre-orders based on a fairy tale shipping date they had zero chance of achieving. This is the second time they've done this with a product launch. How much damage has been done to Avalon, BTCFPGA, and ASICMiner by this tactic? Pre-orders paid for in BTC 6 months ago? What's the real cost of a BFL Single SC to those miners?

Locked up pre-orders?  Really?  Can you point me to a single person who hasn't gotten a refund that has asked for it?  No?  Ok, then you lied again. Quite the habit with you.

lol yer a hoot. Smiley

Why must you always play dumb. You know as well as I do those guys are trapped. If they cancel their orders and request a refund then what? Back of the bus with the competition? Their options suck, because they trusted you when you said it'd be different this time, but it's not different this time is it Josh? Same fairy tale shipping dates pushed back a couple weeks at a time. Keep them hooked as long as possible because their refund option becomes less and less appealing over time. Oh but it's not BFL's fault, they're acting with integrity(obviously) and prowess, it's just that they're among the least lucky companies in the history of business. Please. Roll Eyes
