2801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Washington Post: 'R.I.P. Bitcoin. It’s time to move on' on: March 24, 2016, 05:03:28 AM
Looks like the mainstream establishment media has gone into full-spin anti-bitcoin mode! Would love to hear your comments on this article published just 2 hours ago! Undecided

"Not long ago, venture capitalists were talking about how Bitcoin was going to transform the global currency system and render governments powerless to police monetary transactions.  Now the cryptocurrency is fighting for survival.  The reality came to light on Jan. 14, when its influential developer, Mike Hearn, declared Bitcoin a failure and disclosed that he had sold all of his Bitcoins.  The price of Bitcoin fell 10 percent in a single day on the news, a sad result for those who are losing money on it.

Bitcoin did have great potential, but it is damaged beyond repair.  A replacement is badly needed.

Most currency and transaction systems today are opaque, inefficient, and expensive.  Take the North American Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ, as an example.  It is amongst the most technologically advanced in the world.  Yet if I buy or sell a share of Facebook on the NASDAQ, I have to wait several days for the trade to finalize and clear.  This is unacceptable; it should take milliseconds.

In Venezuela, citizens wishing to buy anything of value on supermarket shelves wait all day in lines to do so, because hyperinflation causes the paper currencies in their pockets to lose significant value every day.  When migrant workers there send money back to their families in places such as Mexico, India, and Africa, they are gouged by money-transfer companies—paying as much as 5–12 percent in fees.  And even in the United States, payment processors and credit-card companies collect merchant fees of 1–2.5 percent of the value of every transaction.  This is a burden on the economy.

Bitcoin was born with serious flaws.  It was unregulated and provided anonymity, so it rapidly became a haven for drug dealers and anarchists.  Its price fluctuated wildly, allowing for crazy speculation.  And, with the majority of Bitcoin being owned by the small group that started promoting it, it has been compared to a Ponzi scheme.  Exchanges built on top of it also had severe security vulnerabilities.  And then there were the venture capitalists who got carried away.  Several of them purchased considerable coinage and then began to hype it as a powerful disruption that could underpin all manner of financial innovation, from mobile banking to borderless, instant money transfers.  They also poured millions of dollars into Bitcoin start-ups hoping to reap even greater fortunes.

But Bitcoin was not ready for primetime.  Hearn’s criticism has laid bare the nightmarish reality—a list of negatives that is both long and frightening."

I think we need to start taking this media coverage seriously and start demanding that core clean up its act.

While employed at Credit Suisse First Boston, the banking firm invested over $150 million dollars on a project Vivek Wadhwa was working on.
until now, bitcoin is fine, since washington post about this, bitcoin just have bad situation whe mike hearn said bitcoin were dead, and now everyone not panic anymore,so now is the time to not believe what media said, anymore.
2802  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC would be even more valuable if some things are solved on: March 24, 2016, 04:53:27 AM
I think that after the halving, we might not be able to see the price of BTC go all the way up to $1000+, since there are some things that need to be sorted out, in order for this to happen.

Things like block size issues (which is allegedly solved in Classic) and discussions between decentralists and the ones in favor of BTC's scalability, have made Bitcoin separate into different ways, instead of being united like the way it was before. Also, the fact that Hearn left BTC makes me think about how things are going along difficult for the crypto currency.

Don't take me wrong or anything (I don't want to spread FUD), but I would like for Bitcoin to be great again.  Smiley
i think that after the halving,we also might able to see the price of bitcoin raise up to $1000+,i think still any possibility to reach that amount,we dont know what exactly happen after the halving.

2805  Economy / Speculation / Re: How can we make bitcoin's price only RISE and never FALL? on: March 23, 2016, 04:50:42 PM
I've been noticing the price usually periodically dropping. The price doesn't exactly drop significantly. Just enough to make people stressed and rather worried. I have always been in a position in which the price's increase has indeed always been a reward for people who truly believe in Bitcoin and care for its well being. It can be rather worrisome when you've placed $400 worth of BTC in your wallet for price increases, then the next day you find that you've lost about $50. Sure it's not a huge number but it's a number nonetheless.

What can we do to make it only rise and never fall? I have been meaning to have this question answered.
i think we can't do anything with bitcoin price, people who have so many bitcoin can easy to make bitcoin price unstable, maybe the only way to make bitcoin price never fall is regulate bitcoin, and make it not decentralized anymore, but it will not happen so far.
2806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Thoughts and Ideas on: March 23, 2016, 04:40:25 PM
This is simply a thread where people can share new thoughts and ideas.  An example from a few years back might be the Bitcoin debit card that has come out over the past year or so. That is a great idea for a service that is making it around.

The ideas can be for services, like the debit card.  Website or organizational ideas, like a site where people can compare the exchange rates they recently traded at.  Technical ideas, like burn wallets.

If posting an idea here I would expect both criticism and support, be prepared for someone to play the devil's advocate.  They may mention things like trust and legal issues.  Also, be prepared to hear that the idea has been done and you just happened to miss it.

For those that are "helping", please be kind.  There is a difference between "I just don't see that idea working" and "How F-----ing stupid are you?"

I hope that no one here steals an idea from another person, but it could happen.  I would rather see a person with great ideas and little technical or business know-how team up with a person that can make their idea happen.  While you can steal one idea and run with it, do not forget that you are leaving behind the person that thought of it and likely has more thoughts like that to come.  This is a place for sharing and teamwork.  Do not forget that without Paul Allen, none of us would have heard of Bill Gates.

I will only moderate this thread for outright SPAM and outright MEANNESS.
i hope idea is booked on some thread, wish moderator can help to create thread about idea, and we would more easy to disscuss about our idea, not just on this post and so many quotes.

2808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you honestly think Bitcoin toys would help us?! on: March 23, 2016, 03:48:32 PM
This post is actually in reference to another post. It's really hard to take it serious for some reason. In theory it sounds rather meaningful but I don't really think it can be useful in any way. This person didn't actually suggest toys based on Bitcoin, but it actually made me go from their point to this one. Do you really think toys based on Bitcoin could be utilized to actually raise our children to be educated on the currency? Do you think they'd actually enjoy the toys? Do you think they can actually grasp what Bitcoin even is? I just feel like trying to teach small children anything huge and confusing is a bad idea because children naturally have undeveloped mindsets to not even be able to grasp what certain things mean. That's why you can't sue children, that's why children don't have jobs and that's why children can't drive.

Curious though, if you wanted to invent a Bitcoin toy, what would you make?
nice idea, but i think its will not effective for people who plays toys, like kids,we all now kids dont understand bitcoin, but if i were to create a toy for kid relating to Bitcoin,i would create bitccoin pillow or bitcoin dolls, they will start to interest and ask about that shape, and we just said to that kids,it was bitcoin, future currency Grin

2812  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we make success in Bitcoin Trading ? on: March 22, 2016, 06:04:28 PM
Hi guyz. Suggest me some ideas . Waiting for your reply. Thanks
if you ask about bitcoin trading,we all will easy to answer it,but if you ask me about altcoin trading, almost all of we are will hard to answer. bitcoin trading simple as we trade other currency or forex, buy it when low, sell it when high, and we can collect so much information about bitcoin fluctuation, but altcoin trading is not simple like that.

2815  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Al Qaeda branch in Bitcointalk. on: March 22, 2016, 05:59:30 PM
Here i found the perfect spokesman of Al Qaedah - mr. magnific61

of this anti Quran ideology:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salafist_Jihadism

The song of affected jihadi lunatics is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1M8pDhNGso

is that thread enough to proofen that this account "magnific61" was branch of al qaeda? think he just people who dont love islam or maybe atheism people,we all can't judge him by his post.
2816  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: March 22, 2016, 05:57:08 PM

I am here to just say one thing? Why do YOU hate people? and you should really give a valid reason not a shitty one that says 'Because Jews, Because Christians, Because Atheists'
and Yes, I am a people's person for those who ask, just tell me, come out of your shell and say why you HATE people like myself, and I could be here to clarify things to you, or not...
Also here is something that most muslims mistake about people's person like me is that "Christianity or Buddhism hate other religions" for this I say, Christianity or Buddhism does not hate ANY religion, but they suggest to 'invite' them to Christianity or Buddhism or Judaism, as slowly, and peacefully, even if they refuse, you can try and try, until it's their choice, you stop. and for all the wars that happened, it's because this other religion decided to come into war on Christianity or Buddhism or Judaism.

If you need anything clarified, I may not be here to answer you, don't be scared, I won't be offended by anyone, also haters, you can reply, I won't care Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Cheesy

In other news ->

i'm really respect to all people,so i think religion is people secret, people believer and people rights,so we can't judge people by it religion,i will not hate islam people if they do something wrong, and also i will not hate cristian people if they do something wrong,i just hate them self without their religion, just that.
2817  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof that God exists on: March 22, 2016, 05:54:06 PM
After long and secular debates about atheism, the need for a separate topic about God's existence has arisen.
There are amongst us a group of people who believe that while there is no proof that God exists, there also is no proof that He doesn't exist.
Please share your argument in a logical manner and abstain from saying things like "I'm right because I'm right".
I know that this, in the end, is a philosophical discussion so only logical are welcome.
Quote

i never see people mentioned about that before,i think all people believe that god exist, but atheism. and the simplest thing that proof exist of god is,we and all universe, all scientist and expert also believe that this universe is not create by own self, but there was a cretor of this all, that was enough proof.

Hey guys, wanted to know whether there is any point in considering a transaction fee to decide which transaction to mine?

imagine if you will shipping goods, you will put fee in different class, more fee will faster that goods shipped. its also like transacton fee, decide transactions fee by speed, faster transaction will take bigger fees. i think that's the point.
