2801  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase from February 2009 has just been moved! on: May 20, 2020, 04:25:19 PM
This is super interesting.

Whom is a great question.  But so is: Why?

Very intriguing for us, but why??
I mean... the implications of this move are powerful.  The person doing it obviously has a lot more bitcoin than the coinbase of this block.  And if they wanted to fire 40BTC off somewhere for any "normal" reason they would not be picking *this* block.

Who is it? Smiley

And what on Earth are they doing this for?
If these bitcoins were from the same year as bitcoin was created then most probably this is related Satoshi Nakamoto, but why they are moving this now?

Do they wanted to move under our radar? or they did it deliberately, that's why they make a noticeable move?

I have a feeling this move is the prelude for something interesting... but then again it could just be someone moving coins around... because...  umm....   umm....
Could be true, but the dates don't lie. Is this related to a total of 17,000 BTC transfers last night??

Are we on verge of a bitcoin pump? INTERESTING!
2802  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best advice for Bitcoin ATH investors ?? on: May 20, 2020, 02:04:19 PM
The fact that they're still here and haven't sold with a loss shows they have some potential. Most people would be long gone with a loss of 75% or more.
On top of that is the sign of the market that it is getting good after the halving phase, anyways he did not sold it yet right? So what he needs to do ( if he is not really in a hurry or need the money so bad) monitor the market at least once in a while, have an application that notifies the price of bitcoin. But to be honest, bitcoin to reach its ATH is quite difficult these days. Hopes up!
I would simply stay put and wait as long as I didn't need the money. It took me three years to get back in the black after 2013 and once it did it all seemed like a bad memory as it left it firmly behind.
We all had a bad experience in the market, it will be a lesson for good.
No one has any idea of if or when it'll return to that level but as long as it remains above ground there's a chance of it happening. Selling when interest is low doesn't really make sense and things are still quiet.
As I said, reaching its ATH is quite difficult, If I were him I'll just target the lowest possible loss like selling in the mid $15K to $17K ( if it happens)

In my town I don't know if they already reopen the gambling businesses like casino and arena, I haven't been outside yet since the first day of quarantine but the malls and supermarket are crowded right now. I don't know what those people are thinking but they definitely not prioritizing their safety, going outside like there is no health threat is a fool. Even we have guidelines for going outside, those are just basic ones and does not guarantee anything , STAY AT HOME! better to be safe than sorry.

2806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 16, 2020, 04:20:08 PM
I just focused on sportsbetting since I'm knowledgeable when it comes to sports.

Same here, not only I am knowledgeable, I also love to watch games so I am enjoying while I am betting. This kind of betting is really challenging for me and I am okay of getting challenge because I believe I have a decent chance of winning though I'm still far away of being consistent in making profit.
But how do you consider sportsbetting in one of these? A skill-based game or a chance game? Coz me personally I think of it on different aspect, when it comes to the player that is playing on field or on the sport it is skill-based game for them, at gambler's end it is a chance game even you have searched a lot of the player's stats you can always win or lose. I also tried sportsbetting on boxing and it didn't end well for me tough I bet on high stat player.
2807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Gambling Life During Quarantine on: May 16, 2020, 03:37:51 PM
Quarantine is boring and my gambling life is not healthy anymore because of this, Lol. Seriously, this quarantine makes me realize that gambling is not that important and if I want to become more happy, I can spend time with my family and laugh together. Though I will still not give up my gambling hobby, but after this quarantine I'll go for more time with my family and friends, and keeping healthy always.
Who told you that gambling is comparable to family? Gambling is just an entertainment, then if you are having hard time to get out of it for your family then something is wrong with you making it your unhealthy habit. Glad that you realize it during this quarantine time, Me too I've been thinking of my stuff lately and realization will come you at some point coz we all got plenty of time and random moment. So far I got used to gambling every other day, I'd rather watch youtube on how to cook than gamble these days lol.
2808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: May 16, 2020, 03:02:10 PM
A day-trader defines as the one who conducts a wide number of short and long trades to capitalize on intraday stock price activity.
So definitely, your friend is a day-trader since he spends a lot of time looking at the market. I'm afraid that someday even though he has a lot of income due to day trading, maybe he might lose his ability to socialize with other people. If he's really into day-trading, try to consult on a programmer and make an AI that's built with his own preferences so he can have time to his friends and family.
Day trading is a great source of income in daily basis however it is time consuming especially now that the market is very volatile. Yes, I agree dealing with market right now might lose your time to socialize people but the thing is we have a corona virus right now that will make you think if it is worth having a conversation to anyone. So I think the need for bot is not necessary now as we are all in our home locked up which makes the gambling more convenient.
2809  Economy / Speculation / Re: Personally i think bitcoin is future on: May 16, 2020, 02:24:36 PM
Well I do think it so not just Bitcoins but cryptocurrencies as a whole and in that Bitcoins is the most trusted one at that . Since the government will take time to recover from this financial blow , sooner or later people will be interested in more options . Stock market takes time but cryptocurrencies provide you with a good source of trading , earning extra money and with mining you can make extra bucks if you are living in a country with less electricity expenses.
Cryptocurrencies has a spot in the future in financial terms however blockchain has the biggest shot in the future since it is applicable to almost all of the fields. I also agree that people are interested in transitioning into digital currencies coz I have seen a data that there is an increase in number of digital payment users, and you can see not only bitcoin but also alternative coins are getting a pump now take a look at ZRX.
Cryptocurrencies is an amazing opportunity for people to connect with each other and sell their services all around the world.
It is not just the future , it is very helpful even for the government for the disastrous times , like Corona virus right now , I have seen people earning through cryptocurrencies and not the governmental jobs .
Futuristic indeed but there are still problems with connectivity, not all countries have the same internet speed as Europe has which is the heart of any digital transaction. Corona virus might help the increase of crypto adoption.
2810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Does Bitcoin Have Value? on: May 16, 2020, 01:45:07 PM
Everything will have a value but it is depend on the community itself. Before money launched the human used a barter system instead of money even in some place use the stone as mean of payment because they are thinking that the stone have a value. This is same with bitcoin, the people look bitcoin have a value because its system which similar with money moreover with the need of digital currency that need by most people then bitcoin is deserve to be called as mean of payment.
To make it simple, bitcoin has value because people can use it to buying or exchanging goods. It is a digital currency that we can use and we value as a means of payment, we can buy things that we need in life and it is also convertible to fiat that's why it has a value.
To make it more simple, bitcoin has a value because bitcoin is used to store a  value basically it tackles the demand and supply law that determine its value in timely manner. If you guys are wondering why the price of  bitcoin is incredibly high it is because the mass is using it as a form of investment rather than a digital currency, you'll barely see people using bitcoin to buy goods these days not unlike the time that we have back then where bitcoin worth just a couple of bucks.
2811  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New to trading on: May 15, 2020, 07:03:34 PM
Sell your coins for profits, that is the rule of trading so you need to buy the coins when it is lower itself to make better profits.Since the prices are currently high you can buy and wait for the price to increase but still it is not clear that prices will move in upwards or in downwards.
one way or another, in the first place, everything will depend on what strategy the trader chooses. with long-term trading, in any case, you will have to wait for the price increase for the cryptocurrency that you have chosen to trade. And if you choose day trading, then using the simplest scalping strategy, there is a certain opportunity for generating income, even if the price of your asset has decreased.
Obviously the long term trading is the best suit for beginners coz they got need some time to learn how to cope with this volatile market, it is good to keep coins while learning so they will know what to do when their coin needs to evacuate. Then slowly try to change strategy and tradings style. For day trading I'd recommend the future trading, the risk is high but the reward is higher especially when putting it on high leverage. Trading might come short to beginner, they will surely lose at first (mostly) but that's the hard way of learning and it is good.
2812  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has just halved for the third time! A snaphot of various metrics! on: May 15, 2020, 05:53:52 PM
It will be intresting to see hashrate after this. Mining is unprofitable right now
Hash rate now is dropping down of course there are miners who are not willing to mine with their expenses is higher than what they are possible to gain with mining, but it is not that unprofitable for bigger mining farms stuffs are pretty just the same for them. Nothing is interesting with the hash rate every after halving, it is expected to go down at a certain level then go back after a while. As far as I remember from the past halving there is a 20% to 30% of decrease in hash rate after it takes place, nothing interesting looking natural to me.
2813  Economy / Economics / Re: The unfortunate event that is Quarantine. on: May 15, 2020, 05:22:13 PM
The word (quarantine) got me alittle confused. I guess I mistook it for isolation hence the confusion:

Quote
* Isolation: separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick.

* Quarantine: separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. These people may have been exposed to a disease and do not know it, or they may have the disease but do not show symptoms.
Source https://www.hhs.gov/answers/public-health-and-safety/what-is-the-difference-between-isolation-and-quarantine/index.html

Well, it doesn't make sense to Quarantine/lockdown the whole population when we could safely go outside to work by practicing the recommended social distancing plus other safety measures.
Hopefully people don't turn this to a shameful class thing instead of working together to solve the problems. No one can survive alone in serious crisis unless GOD is on his/her side.
There should be other things to do in the crisis and safely earn a living.
I'm thinking of the same thought, we could be return to normal if we want to just wear a protective gears when going outside and the problem is solved but the thing is the number of covid-19 cases is still increasing, that is the only data that the government could rely on from now since WHO has not been instructing yet but to stay home. Once we get to handle the things easily, if we come to see a significant decrease in the cases then we might be back again to the normal, I mean the new normal. We can't deny that there are hardheaded people that keeps the number even higher  Roll Eyes
2814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The One Biggest Lesson you've learnt from Bitcoins Investment on: May 15, 2020, 04:15:22 PM
The biggest lesson for me is to stay with bitcoin all through out the competition here in the market. I started knowing bitcoin in late 2015, its price is just running around between $400 and $500 and I know there is something about bitcoin that you can't find with other coin, ' reputation' , that's the only coin that time that has a price of that high so I stick to it. Now I got enough from my investment on it, I can really say that patience is the key for ones success, definitely worth to invest on yourself.
2815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visa now wants the removal of cash from their system to create a digital dollar on: May 15, 2020, 03:21:10 PM
What? I don't think they wanted to remove cash from their system though, not all their client would have trust the digital currency, in short there will be no complete transition from fiat currency to digital currency and that is what the Visa have told to their article. - It should be added to the existing payment ecosystem - As what I am saying it would not be a complete transition, cryptocurrencies have advantages over fiat like the faster transfer and immutable data however Visa is not a new company, they have longing customer to protect with.

2818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did Covid-19 affect crypto gambling? on: May 14, 2020, 06:10:42 PM
~~~
Personally, I can still afford to buy my needs and still have a little budget for extra entertainment but thinking wisely, I will prefer not to gamble.  I want to use this extra money practically or save this in case of an extended lockdown or emergency. I'm thinking of only going back to gambling if everything started going back to normal. So to answer your question, yes, it made me stop gambling for a while since I have my priorities I need to think first than gambling.
Of course we must be able to save in our finances because if we bet with existing money it will be difficult too if the lockdown is extended later with that policy we must think that entertainment with gambling is not right at that time except tips on having lots of money then it's up to you because with enough money will certainly make us calm.
'Re Like people we are just barely satisfied in need while saving is one to survive during this pandemic so I am the same as you stop for a moment to gamble using money needs.
I think the question should be more subjective because the covid-19 have nothing to do with crypto gambling it is impacting on every people so it should be more specific. Nonetheless, I haven't seen any data saying that the user of most gambling platform is decreasing. So I guess it is safe to say that covid-19 do not touch the crypto gambling. In theory, crypto gambling services should be in trend right now because every gambling houses is closed as of the moment.
2819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 14, 2020, 05:17:50 PM
I prefer to play skill-based games most of the time, particularly if the plan is primarily to make a little money. There are also times when I am simply bored and don't want to think much about things or perhaps just want to unwind. These are times when I just want to roll the dice.
But I want to point out that even skill-based gambling requires a whole lot of luck also. I have just recently placed several bets with very low odds, playing around 1.50, that all went lost.
I play poker more often, basically it is a skill-based game but I do love also the fortune games like dice. Admit it, you are not always on top of your game when playing skill based games, there are days that it seems to be tiring but you don't have any thing to do with so you'll just gamble but it tends to be a losing day really that's why I play chances game sometimes, to be honest it is more entertaining and fun than skill based games. Nothings serious, just pure fun.
2820  Economy / Economics / Re: The Coronavirus as A Means of Financial Reset on: May 14, 2020, 04:14:37 PM
In my opinion it is very clear that the corona virus is not natural from nature, but the corona virus is like a human-made one. There are still many
unsolved mysteries related to corona virus. I also cannot accuse the Chinese state of creating this corona virus, there is no strong evidence related
to this. To be sure this corona virus makes many countries in the world experience an economic crisis. And surprisingly, China's economy is stable,
compared to others. So I can understand why many people accuse China of creating this virus. But actually I do not care who created this corona virus,
for me the corona virus can be found vaccine immediately, so that the spread of the corona virus can be stopped. I also agree that the Corona virus is
making financials around the world like reset from the beginning again. Hopefully financially all countries in the world can rise and return to normal.
We only accuse China of creating this virus coz they are leading the world, but if the virus originated from country like Scotland, Denmark or Sweden we would not be focusing on what could be the virus is, either man-made or natural. The America have already told the media that the virus was indeed from the nature, there is no scientific evidence that it was genetically arranged nor deliberately created. What we should be looking for now is the vaccine, we should have it as soon as possible so we can get back to our normal lives, although there will be a huge changes.
