I don't know about it OP but your post could be a little anti-poor, not anti-poverty. We have to understand thaf oftentimes, poverty is never a choice for them to make but a culmination of circumstances that ultimately lead then to that moment. For me, it's hard to think about investing your money for the near future, when your kids are sick today and you'll have just about enough money to feed your family tomorrow. We oftentimes overlook other people's struggles just because it somehow worked out for us but you gotta admit, sometimes what separates us from them is just sheer dumb luck. Consider that.

Mining has been centralized forca good amount of bitcoin's lifetime now. It hss proved to work well thus far in providing services to the rest of the crypto indistry so I think no shift is needed despite its centralized nature. That being said DGC as far as I know only has around 20% of the industry's hashrate on its back, while the foundry lies somewhere within 27%, numbers that when added up do not total to 50% , so for me this post is a little fear mongering and misleading too.

There are numerous instances a coldcwallet could still get hacked of its access and funds. For example. Trojan and certain types of malware exist solely to make money out of the data they collect. That being said. What happened to him/her is that he may have unknowingly downloadwd the file in the past or so. And the virus's journey towards the millions of dollar to be stolen starts here, when the dev pressed on it and unknowingly activated the file.
Bottomline, cold wallets can be pryed and hacked, it is just rare and doesn't always happen.

Qhat do you mean all the same? Are you pertaining to the losses you incurred as the gbling casinos taking advantage of you? If so let me get you in on an industry secret not everyone of us knew abut, Casinos will always win against ite bettors regardless of a win or a loss. Perhaps you are mistaking regular losses for the casino scamming you out of your bets and money, which is simply not the case when it comes to normal games and bets. In an ideal world where there are no exploiters of scripte and advantages over the house, not only are wagering requirements removed but essentially everything that is imposed to protect the gambling site's integrity. This includes KYC, Deposit requirement, and other bylaws they make to ensure they are not dealing with someone whose intent is to abuse weaknesses in the gambling site for their own benefit. But in my whole time as a gambler and even amongst my gambling friends I have never heard of gambling based on jerseys number sign due to how repeatedly they flash on TV. It's quite weird though but I understand that gamblers can pull out every strategy possible just to get winnings anyway! No matter the strategy anyone uses, what really matters is winning's.
Pretty common in communities and countries suffering from poverty, or low quality of education. In the Philippines alone it is considered lucky to bet on the dates of your close relatives/children and spouse if there's any on the country's major lottery. They thought these numbers have a bigger significance than just being plain dates where their children were born, thid leads them to bet and bet until they finally win or they die, with the latter being the obvious case. It's a curse of having a pattern-loving brain like humans. Back then it allowed us to be safe in the wild, now these heuristics and biases hold us down by forcing us to cling upon correlation without causalities. |

Of course he'll come back. OTB chess is as essential and substantial to Carlsen as breathing. He'll be nothing without it. He knows that much and is probably making some sort of strat to maximize his comebacks. His games against Niemann took a toll on his mental, regardless if Hans cheated or not, so this buffer of his is important in order to remain sharp and deadly in chess. Going back though, I think it'll be best for him to publicize himself more by streaming his online games, disguising it as live chess tutorials so people become more aware of the game. |

There's a higher chance of it landing on the middle rows. Normal curve-based probability. I would suggest you focus more of your bets within the center, and then deviate a little here and there to cover a wider range. If you are shooting for a single bet high wager, however, this could still work but will not guarantee a win every time. So I would really suggest you drop multiple marbles instead of going all out on different bets, like what Jackg said.

A definitive list if I do say so myself. The terminologies here we oftentimes use are duly explained without any other compromise. Even I who have been gambling for a while now is surprised to see Beard, coz I don't really know about it until now. If I may add one thing however, I think it should be Revenge Gambling. Which is a manner of betting done belligerently or without proper thinking over because of frustration and burnout after a huge or detrimental loss. I've seen people nowadays succumb to this gambling pattern but it didn't have a name until now.

I think given the fact that you didn't gamble much and didn't win a lot either, 5% for luck is a little too generous for me. Although you do you really.
As for me, I played and gambled quite a lot this year, studied working gambling patterns and strategies to maximize winnings, and ensured that I incorporate a discipline whenever I play. If I were to interpret this into percentages, I think I'd hit a solid 40-50% luck rate because my gambling funds remained relatively the same despite the amount of games I have played,

As for me, I don't think it really mattered whether my money goes all to the casino or to sports. As long as I can bet and play to relieve myself of the stress of the daily bustle, I'm good. Although as I study my gambling patterns, I find that I subconsciously spend money evenly between the two. Like I somehow know to never favor one bet over the other. I guess this unconscious habit of mine is to be thanked for still relatively staying afloat, not losing too much money and not winning that much either. let the man rest he's young and deserves to live life I think he has great chances of coming back to OTB tournaments in the future but at this point he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. he could take some rest, travel, whatever and come back in 1, 2 or 5 years. maybe at this point there'll be another player his level. if he do that then we can not force him not to do that but one thing I assure. If he gonna play online tournament then I think there's a big reason why he choose that I think once he play online he can focus his family and do what he want to do. But if he want to rest and do anything what he want and came back next 2 years then I think he can do it again and win all he need is he must practice inorder to forgot. He does have the power to choose whether or not he is to play chess OTB and afaik he did attend the games where he bagged the crown and reclaimed his throne. But going back to the subject, Unlike Kasparov who has already cemented himself in the ranks of the Gods, Magnus, and Hikaru for that matter still has more to prove to the people and to their fellow GMs. These two are still in their prime and has probably haven't reached their peak yet, so it only makes sense for Magnus to play more OTB as much as possible. In my opinion. The biggest contributor to gambling addiction is revenge gambling. Which is gambling after a loss—doesn't matter how big, out of spite and with the intention of getting the losses back in the process. When you revenge gamble, you are not in the right headspace to make concrete decisions as your attention is more focused on winning than anything. And in my opinion this never-ending chase for the bag is what will cost you to gamble, lose, revenge gamble, lose, until you find yourself 6 feet deep in debt and in trouble.

I've made a few bets between friends of mine over who will win in major chess tournaments a couple of times already. So far I'm yet t0 see an official casino preceding bets for games like this but speaking as an avid chess enthusiast since time immemorial, it would do the chess community great service if it could get all the popularity it could. As it stands today chess is far from a dying sport, I would even argue that it will outlive every known sport and game in existence. But the utter lack of public attention and acclaim is saddening sometimes, especially considering how great the game is and how high-level yet beginner friendly it could be.

For a solid amount of time I think I've been a lone sports bettor. I did not rely on any form of call or signal group and all my bets are made solely by yours truly. I experienced acceptable success through that, but when I got introduced to signal channela and groups it made all the difference. I find that collaborative efforts and insight allowed me to make more intelligent predictions I would otherwise wouldn't have done if I am the only one thinking for my bets. At the end of the day it's to each their own because of course, it's your money your rules. There's a type of betting in the Philippines too. They call it End Betting or Ending, where they bet over what the last digit of the score of the teams will be. Games where score can go to two digits or more is perfect for this game, basketball for instance. Special cards are given to confirmed bettors where they are to cross out what they think the end numbers will be. And a little futures betting is involved because they are basically predicting game outcomes. It has been a huge part of the neighborhood culture in the country, and as far as I know it is still in practice to this day.

If you get something for free, then you are the product. In your case of people giving these earthmovers for free, you are giving them the service that they would otherwise have to pay expensive money to do. There is no guarantee that you'd even be able to sell these off given the fact that they sre most likely worn down and would not be valuable besides for scrap. Then again if you are good at flippijng items for money this could actually be a good gig to earn a few bucks but for the regular joe this may not work as intended.
I get the sentiment on OP's post though, stating and supposing that there's money to be made if you know how to look around which I would agree.

Money you can afford to lose doesn't necessarily mean extra money that you have lying around. Money you cam afford to lose is well, momey that will not be that detrimental to lose and/or can easily be recovered through various means. If you can easily recover the money through employment or whatnot, then that means it's money you can afford to lose. My rule of thumb is that if it doesn't starve me to lose it, doesn't cause me to lose light and water as well as internet connection, then that means it's money I can afford to lose and can use to invest in crypto.

I think a heuristic is at play here. There have been countless claims even in the olden days stating that ae are living in the worst of times. Although I believe this line of thinking isn't completely without basis. Tschnology plays a part at magnifying negative eventualities more than how severe they really are. And as it progresses it gets better at making us feel this way. No doubt, our problems become more and more complex as time goes by, but so are the solutions available at our disposal. So in the case of problems getting worse and worse as time goes by, especially within the economic sector of things, it is of complete basis but there's no point to dwelling in the problem.

There is no room for weak-hearted people in the crypto industry. I've seen people here suffer a complete liquidation of funds during the worst seasons of the market and are still able to recover most of their funds and their sanity as well lol. But all of this didn't happen just because, they took sleepless nights studying the market, everything about crypto, and whatnot to get rhe most out of the profit potential in this venture. So in reality, not only does this venture require you to have balls of steel, but it also asks you to have the perseverance and patience to learn new things to be rewarded handsomely.
