2821  Economy / Economics / Re: China's currency is worth double that of USD. WTF? How is this possible? on: April 30, 2015, 09:28:17 PM
Actually there are several Reserve Currencies, being the US dollar, Euro and Japanese Yen the major ones, China is now pushing for Chinese yuan to also become a Reserve Currency.

2823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leaked Chainalysis Roadmap Angers Bitcoin Community on: April 30, 2015, 08:15:49 PM
If you haven't yet torified your wallet yet you may want to consider doing so after reading this story.

Full story: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/20182/leaked-chainalysis-roadmap-angers-bitcoin-community/
But we already know that Bitcoin isn't anonymous, in fact everything is recorded for the world to see in fine detail.
Why would a program that simplifies the tracking procedure be shocking to you or anger the community?

This should be used as a selling point to regulators too.  If you ever do a KYC, then your info is related to your Bitcoin.  Otherwise you have to use back alley ways of getting bitcoin, which I don't want to do.

If weren't for those blockchain properties this type of service would be illegal, it's a huge blow on financial privacy, if banks were doing these kind of stuff, selling yours or your company's financial information to anyone with a few bucks in their pocket they would face huge fines.

This just makes evident the problems with bitcoin's privacy and it has to be addressed quickly.
2824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin block chain data with full transaction index torrent on: April 30, 2015, 06:39:59 PM
Is this still needed?

I believe since 0.10, trying to go the torrent path is slower than the headers-first and independent block download approach added to 0.10

You are correct:

Just added a note to the OP.

The Bitcoin Core client is faster and more secure and is the preferred option.

The torrent will continue to be updated periodically for academic research and development purposes, as some secondary usefulness does remain.

Session expires too quickly, it's practically impossible to keep waiting for a tournament to begin, can you make it session expires when window is closed?
2826  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ BitPoker.io - A New Poker Experience! - Levelled Faucet - LAUNCH GIVEAWAY ★ on: April 30, 2015, 01:55:08 AM
Can we setup our timezone?

The starting time of tourneys and freerolls is displayed in your local time.
The Hourly Free Roll didn't start yet. This is why the start time isn't correct, it should start when the minimum of 10 entrants is reached.
Goodluck! Grin

Oh, I'm seeing now.

So TFH01 runs every 3 hours?

Yeah
The absolute silence from the board is a little weird, in fact their whole role seemed a little hoary. Didn't a few leave the board precisely because they felt left in the dark?

Well there weren't that many board members known publicly to begin with
TAT, Jutarul, that one other guy and that pretty much was it to my knowledge
TAT left not sure about the other guy.

As others have said if Jutarul is not saying anything theirs likely nothing new to report.

TAT was never a board member.  He was the passthrough holder for Bitfunder and Havelock.  TAT got out of the game about a year ago when AM stopped paying dividends.  A smart move for sure.

He wasn't? But with all those passthrough shares, he effectively held the "original" shares! In hindsight it was of course a wise move, but no one could have anticipated that a year ago. Also, I guess it was also due to Havelock not wanting to do business with passthrough operators, anymore. That's why they took over TaT's shares, I guess!

He also got burned with the NeoBee scam at that time, he might just want to distantiate himself from all this mess.
2830  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Going Clear: the film Scientologists don't want you to see on: April 30, 2015, 12:07:45 AM
I saw this some time ago and it's pretty disturbing, not that I had a good opinion of what Scientology is but those testimonies are amazing, it's such an obvious scam and they still exist after all this time.

Let's acknowledge one thing good about Scientology, besides they make other religions actually look good, they are partially responsible for the creation of Anonymous. Smiley

Does bitpoker.io uses our timezone automatically?

I'm seeing freeroll tournaments at 5:30 am and 6:00 am, it's a no no for Europeans...

Hey, welcome!

Here's some input from the guy who made the first purchase with bitcoin:

I spent it all on pizza long ago:  https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4

3-4 years ago there were less than 100 people frequenting this forum, and I was pretty happy to trade 10,000 coins for pizza.  I mean people can say I'm stupid, but it was a great deal at the time.  I don't think anyone could have known it would take off like this. Smiley

1. task
Program which writes my name 10 times.

#include <stdio.h>

main()

{

  int n;
  n=10;
  While (n)

    {
     printf (Your Name);
     n = n-1;
    }

}

LOL! This is a C program and not C#.

Oh, I see, I didn't even knew this exists, it's the Microsoft spin-off of C...

Sorry for wasting my time. Smiley

Was this our last dividend from the liquidation fund?

last payment? i thought was going to be paying dividens out as normal as it was done before, is this not the case or did i misunderstand something regarding this dividend payments?

This was the last payment, a total of 0.3mBTC per share has been paid:

6) SCHEDULE: The swap will be offered until April/20/2015. After April/20/2015 the swap offering will be closed and no further swaps will be possible. The total payment to units of AMHashLC will be split into 5 equal installments paid on a weekly schedule. The first payment will be provided after April/20/2015 and prior to April/24/2015 and the combined total will be paid out before May/29/2015.

There's an address shared that's supposed to have the liquidation funds:

https://blockchain.info/address/1FU3uhBR4bKTavbeiJXdHHs13W5bRjM7DA

There's still 500 coins in the address, they left the door open for additional payments:

7) FURTHER OFFERINGS: We reserve the right to do additional rounds of AMHashLC offerings with the same conditions after May/29/2015, should it be deemed necessary.
