No one will know if an idea is good or bad, until its complete so you could be giving a terrible idea or a really good one. Not the best/safest way to make money.

These designs IMO puts you straight up in the league of SatoshiDice and PrimeDice I'm online >15 hours a day here, check my profile stats, etc. so you can easily escrow so we move onto more brain-storming. IMO these are beautiful. It would be really cool if you could make it into sprites and VEX.

No one can really predict, but I think that it will surpass even that in time. I think it will continue to grow right up until its mining limit.
It depends. The price depends on a lot of factors, so just because there are less btc to mine doesnt mean the price will go up. Yes, but mined Bitcoins will have higher value if the difficulty keep rising (or block reward halving and difficulty remain stable) I will guarantee you that it will stop at around 10k. It wont go past it, because no one is going to pay 1 mil for a bitcoin, people are going to sell wayyyy faster than buy, so the price will start to go down really fast to a reasonable price. while i have no data to back this up i feel like people are buying whole bitcoins less and less after the $500+ jump and i feel like that trend will only continue as prices go up. and as the earliest adopters sell their stash of bitcoins (which if they are smart they will sell them slowly to gain the most value per coin) the market will dip and continue upward. If it was 1 mil per coin, people will be buying 0.0001 or something like that, and early investors will be selling 2 btc (combined, at any given moment). The price will surely go down.

Not only that, but sometimes people hide hacks in new alt coins. Linux can save you from that (most of the time).
This Im worried as well, this is why I dont install any of the alt coin client With ubuntu you should be fine. If its a popular coin then I dont even try to verify, but if its new put the qt on a virtual box.

My curiosity in new things. I always love new things.

If i create a wallet, get address and then close wallet for a month.
If during this time me and someone will send coins to the address, could i verify its balance via blockchain.info for example? Does the bitcoin network knows about my address balance, while my wallet is offline ?
To check the balance you can go to http://blockchain.info/address/BTC_ADDRESS_GOES_HERE and yes even if you wallet is offline, the balance will show since it is still logged on the blockchain.

How much have you made? Switch to ltc so you can actually make more money!

2) I like the thing about being anonymous. Not that I am trying to hide something, but I do not like the fact that I need to prove that I have nothing to hide. I know that all the transaction data can be accessed by the website http://www.blockchain.info . You can see exactly how many bitcoins belong to an address and all of the transactions. But let's say, I have a piece of paper with my bitcoin address and private key, I walk into a store and see a product which has a price of exactly the same amount of bitcoins, which is stored on that bitcoin address. Can I just give that paper to that person behing the cashing desk in order to get my payment accepter ? And how long does it take, before I can walk away with the bought product ? I can understand that the owner of the shop, who accepts payment in bitcoins, wants to know for sure that he or she owns the bitcoins. If you dont want your balance to be online, use coinbase. Since they have internal transactions, they dont get logged on the blockchain so its impossible to know what your balance is exactly. No you cannot give the piece of paper since you might have a copy of the private key. If you have the private key, you can just use it to send the btc to another address before the cashier can do it.

If you still cant get it to work, try using chrome. It might be some JS error something (IDK)...

If you are trying to mine bitcoin using a CPU, you are waisting your time. The difficultly is too high and you cannot get enough work done before work is flushed and the next block is started. But, you can still use CPU mining for alternate coins like litecoin or similar where the network difficulty isn't too high.
What he said. What you should do is look on http://coinchoose.com to find the most profitable coin to mine.

Find a coin you like or find interest in, look for it on github and follow the instructions on how to clone it!

Because its how difficult it is to mine.

Ok guys, So I've been reading about Bitcoins for a while (most of the useful info is coming from this site) and I bought my first BTC a week back. Now I'm joining this site because I want to join group buy for some mining hardware. See you soon on this forum. Later Make sure the group buy is reputable and go through escrow if you have to. Last thing we want is for you to get scammed! Stay safe!

One of the best tip you can give to newbies!

Faucets should switch to a cheaper coin so they can send larger amounts. Move the decimal a few places to the left and pay it out in LTC instead.
There are ltc faucets and other faucets as well!
|
|

Quark coin already has a lot of attention. Too bad there arent any faucets yet!
