2823  Economy / Speculation / Re: To buy or not to buy : My newbie motivations & yours ? on: December 28, 2013, 01:06:26 AM
If you start saying things like " I just invested more than what I can loose " you WILL fail. I hope this is your "poor" english (I just invested more money which I can afford to loose).
Stop investing if you cannot afford it. If you can then you can take a chance and HODL.

Bitcoin still remains a risky investment and can give you big profits and losses.
2824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to destroy the coin switching pools before they destroy the ALT coins on: December 27, 2013, 10:17:35 PM
Coin switching pools level out alt coins and give them realistic values. What's your problem with them?

What you suggesting is turning altcoins into a fatamorgana. Look a good coin let's start mining ... *difficulty goes through the roof* ... damn.

That said a lot of coins adjust difficulty every block so it won't help. Coin switching pool will switch faster and all difficulties go to hell using your method Smiley
2825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to detect the prmined coins on: December 27, 2013, 10:07:35 PM
dears,
i see in some topic members talking about premined coins but i don't know from where they know the exact amount of those coins
and who can premine them ?
it's a bug in the source code or how exactly ?

As I believe it to be:

If you create a coin you can mine them before you release your coin.
Difficulty will be low since it is based on the network size.
If you mine you can premine (and maybe instamine) all the cheap coins.

It is common for scammers to create a coin which is premined for 50%. They wait until the coin is on an exchange and peaks and sell their premined coins for BTC or LTC and abandon the coin letting all investors go to shit.
The idea on permining is to support the coin from a foundation. The foundation uses the premined coins to setup services, mining pools, etc.
2826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Grandcoins vs Diamondcoins on: December 27, 2013, 10:02:11 PM
Diamond has a lower blockvalue and will be more profitable in the long run (if you HODL them) I think.

2828  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invest in BTC with Paypal on Etoro :) on: December 27, 2013, 09:54:02 PM
I read bitcoin and paypal in one sentence. Is it me or is paypal a perfect way to scam people by telling paypal you never received the goods to get back your money?
2829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Accord's trading forecast/outlook on: December 27, 2013, 09:48:26 PM
Hey look I drew two lines and made a forcast ....  Tongue

Anyone can draw a few lines and make any forecast they want.
Anyway bitcoin isn't a stock and is volatile to bad or good news.
I don't see technical analysis working for bitcoin at the moment.

2832  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to the price if OPEC starts pricing oil in bitcoins? on: December 27, 2013, 06:16:05 PM
So if oil is priced in bitcoin the result will be ...  Undecided

2833  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone "all in" on bitcoin? on: December 27, 2013, 07:58:12 AM
I went into bitcoin with 10-20% amount of my savings. Now it has become a 60% of my savings and hopefully it will become 10x my savings.

So having 80% in BTC is only impressive if you started today Tongue
2834  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Q1 2014 on: December 26, 2013, 11:49:27 PM
I don't get why all these savvy "Wall Street" investors are waiting until *after* the next round of pointless senate hearings to invest. If they're so interested in the future of bitcoin (as many people here seem to believe), then why not start investing now BEFORE the prices begin to skyrocket. Isn't that kind of the point of investing?

Maybe because it is unethical to invest other peoples money in a product that might become illegal or has a too high risk ratio.... just my BTC0.02
2835  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to buy BTC? on: December 26, 2013, 11:32:42 PM
I guess now would be a good time. Just dont play the market as I did and lost %40 Sad . Just

HODL

Yep ignore greed and HODL

What's a HODL? None of my wild guesses make any sense Wink

In essence

To HODL is to take your bitcoins to your grave or make a profit.
To HODL is not to panic sell no matter how grim the situation is.
To HODL is the best strategy when it comes to bicoin.
To HODL is to have your private key chipped into your tombstone when BTC is worth $0

2838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Indian Central Bank causes Largest Bitcoin Exchange Shutdown on: December 26, 2013, 11:24:43 PM
Central banks don't like Bitcoin? Oh man...

People letting any central bank influence them deserve everything they get.

+1,

Central banks are the root of all evil.

Look guys. Bitcoin is moving forward in America. As long as these other countries try to stop it, its only going to make the demand greater. The rest of the world still envies America and wants to have the American ideal for freedom and prosperity (whether you agree that exists or if its true doesn't matter, only perception matters). So if Bitcoin is killing it in America and other first world countries, then the rest of the world will want it even more.

Can you imagine the demand for Gold if it were banned in India and China? They would be dying to have it.

Prohibition does not work.

I don't fully agree. Alot of european countries have also officially aknowledged bitcoin as money and have fully accepted it as legal tender.
If Europe and America unite in the adoption of bitcoin, it will have a good chance of being so big the rest of the world cannot ignore it and thus must accept it.
Survival of bitcoin will also depend on how countries adopt the taxing system to bitcoin. If a country fails to collect taxes that country will have no money to support it.

Although not nice I do believe drug countries like Colombia, Afgahnistan, etc. will probably also like bitcoin due to the fact that sending back money transfers after drugs are shipped is easier and near instant. In essence people using illegal substances will support bitcoin aswell.

Repressed countries like China, Korea and probably India will try to keep the power away from the people. I hope they come around or that people take a stand for their rights.

2840  Economy / Speculation / Re: Say BTC hits $10,000 each in 2014 (or 12 x for the year) on: December 26, 2013, 11:00:34 PM
It is still hard to believe for me that BTC will hit 6 or even 7 figures. There would be too many millionairs out there. Every person who owns 10 BTCs would be a millionair. Probably a million will not be worth a million when this happens?!

And if BTC hits 10K, where is the point to sell? Hold forever and live at home with your mom and dad or pay out one day and live good!? If you own 50 BTCs 10K would be a good point to sell and live... Or at least sell the half or so...

If everything goes well there is no sell point you can live your rich life using BTC only Cheesy
