Let's stop criticizing Leonard here, they will get back in the series, they will dominate again the Dallas Mavericks at home. That last shot was well defended so he hesitates a bit, but it was okay though, the series is not yet over, they still have a chance to bounce back.

I reviewed that play and I don't think that was well defended. He can just turn around upon receiving the ball and threw it up with will but that's not what happened. He hesitated and it seems that he's not ready to take the shot. Man, he's the King Clipper so he should have taken that shot with confidence, miss or make.

But you are right, no amount of criticism could turn things around, let's just move on and bet for them next game as for sure they will bounce back strong after that dismal event.

How's your bet guys?
I lost most of my over bets like Over 214.5 for Clippers versus Mavericks and over 206.5 for Knicks versus Hawks. That's the lowest options last night and yet they didn't cover it. I didn't consider that it will be a defensive clash.
Jazz also won with a blowout game and my Grizzlies +8.5 was dumped.  Grin They could not even get close a single digit lead.

One out of two for me but still a profitable one  Smiley. I expected these games to be defense-oriented but not expecting the Clippers to lose on their home court in this stage as they have beaten the Mavs two in a row in Dallas, confidence must be high for the Clippers I supposed but I'm wrong  Sad.

Tomorrow's Lakers vs Suns game6 is a very exciting one. Have you guys got news if AD will come back for this game?
2823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 02, 2021, 01:13:18 PM
Really huge for the Lakers, we have seen how the Lakers without him in game 4 and game 5, they have no answer on the Suns' offense, in short, King James can't carry the Lakers anymore, they need AD and AD is really the best player in the team.

There's still plenty of time, if Davis could return in game 6, then it should give the Lakers a chance to win, but I'm not sure they'll play the same energy they do in game 2 and 3 as Davis lacks practice and he is not fully confident when he comes back.

When AD was out due to injury in the elimination, they lost a lot of games and that's already proven that without him, they will struggle.

Father time is catching up on Lebron and i do agree that he can't do it alone, when was the time he does it alone hehe?

I don't think it's a good idea to force AD to play on their next as it might aggravate his injury and do further damage so i think it is better for him to take some time off and let the other guys step up. It would be nice to see the Lakers win the series without AD and bring him back in the WCF fully rested rather than forced him in the second round.

Speaking of Ravena brothers, we have some breaking news here!

https://tv5.espn.com/basketball/pba/story/_/id/31549892/kiefer-set-follow-thirdy-bleague-signs-shiga-lakestars

Quote
NLEX guard Kiefer Ravena set to sign with Japan B.League's Shiga Lakestars
Quote
Kiefer Ravena is close to joining brother Thirdy in Japan as the B.League's latest Asian Player Quota import for the Shiga Lakestars in the 2021-22 season, the team announced Wednesday.
How bad it has become for the PBA, their stars that make the league interesting are playing abroad as an import, more players will follow for sure.

I don't know if Kiefer Ravena will have a smooth transition to his Japanese Team as he will face some complications on this matter. The commissioner have spoke up that what Kiefer did was wrong because he has recently signed a three year contract extension with NLEX. He should have consulted first his legal adviser before agreeing to sign with the Japanese team.

Nevertheless, it's a good sign that Japan have interest on Filipino cagers as this will motivate the young to work hard as the option to play in the professional league is not limited to PBA anymore.

I think this scenario will not do bad for the PBA as only few players are fit to play as an import and these Ravenas will be back to Philippine soil 2-3 years from now.
2825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 01, 2021, 01:17:05 PM
~snip~
And, how about this performance individually, which is better, his older brother or him?

For me, it's hard to tell who's better as they play different position. Kiefer plays point-guard while Thirdy is more of a 2-3 player.

Both of them have not yet lead a team to a championship so i can say that both of them are raw but with Thirdy playing as an import in Japan, i think he has the advantage on experience as he is more exposed on a different types of play and have guarded players which were more talented than PBA players.
2826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Donaire vs Oubaali - May 29 on: June 01, 2021, 12:18:59 PM
^^ Ok, so Donaire indeed won this fight and show greatness again by coming in with a huge knockout of Oubaali and as I have said, it will create a ripple in this division as there are great champions and opportunities for him. Inoue will be one and then Casimero. But I would rather see Nonito to fight Inoue for a rematch, and not fight another Filipino in the table. Congrats who ride on Nonito for a knock out or even a win.
Donaire indeed won the match unexpectedly, KO was not expected considering the record and skills of Oubaali, but its over now and we have a new champion. Its too early to talked about the rematch on Inoue but many are hoping for this, they both a great boxer so we deserve them to see on both ring again. Donaire is still kicking despite of his age, looking forward for the fight of Manny as well this year.

But i'm expecting a knockout win by Donaire that's why i bet for that  Grin.

Oubaali came to the fight with 17 fights and i could say that the experience factor belongs to Donaire.

Donaire have fought big names, Arce, Darchinyan and Montiel to name a few while Oubaali have not face fighters with those calibers IMO.

Age might be the only reason why Donaire was placed underdog on the bookies.
2827  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: June 01, 2021, 11:59:15 AM
Heto picks ko:

76ers (-7.5)
Jazz  (-4.5)

2828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 01, 2021, 11:52:07 AM
With the Nets and the Lakers both playing tomorrow I think that could be a good opportunity for a parlay. The Lakers have been struggling with the Suns no doubt, but I think they’re going to even it up tomorrow. If Ayton can manage to string together multiple games of his 15+ rebound dominance in the paint, I’ll be not only surprised, but likely out some money as well.

I'm betting 50 dollars for the Lakers here. Lebron's championship character will be tested once again and i do think they can pull this one even with Aton's dominance in the paint. If the Lakers will lose this one then this will be the end of them as the momentum will shift to the Suns.

2829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Haney vs Linares - May 29 on: May 31, 2021, 10:09:16 PM
Haney shows his technical skills and survived a late flurry from Linares. He was really hurt at the end of round 10, his legs are wobbling, but it seems that Linares has punch him out in the fight and couldn't make a follow up on the last 2 rounds.

Not boring fight to me, but it could be more exciting if we can see some knock downs. Love Haney's sharp jab, thing is that he has no power, as Linares said post fight.
Well, we get what they serve, if that's all they can do, we have no choice but to accept it. Haney did his best but the speed of Linares really made the difference. I think Linares knows about the sharp jab and had removed it's power early so that might be the reason why it didn't have power.

Haney is also strong, he looks like he is getting tired in the end but he was able to accept some heavy punch from Linares, bad thing is that Linares only showed up in the later rounds, he will never win a game that way he fought as it did not impress the judges. However, I would say he still did well as he survives a 12 round fight against a heavy favorite Haney.

I would say it's a good fight for both of them but i think it's the end now for the career of Linares, he can't keep up with the big boys now and he is like a steeping stone for some of the young and some prospects in this sport of boxing. He can no longer have that championship belt.

As for Haney, a fight with Garcia or Davis will get him some of this elusive respect which i think he deserve at this point. Surviving and winning against Linares was the biggest test of his young career thus far.
2830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Donaire vs Oubaali - May 29 on: May 31, 2021, 08:51:32 AM
Bookmakers are completely wrong about the odds given, LOL, while Filipino here knows about Donaire's going to win by knockout or at least take a UD win against Oubaali. No disrespect to Oubaali, but it was a mismatch the way I see it. 4 rounds? championship? easy easy fight for Nonito.

I'm smelling a rematch with Inoue next, unless another Filipino derail this mega-fight, Michael Dasmarinas. So Filipinos are taking over this weight class and we also have hard hitting Casimero and then lesser known Gaballo (WBC interim) who will have a rematch if I'm not mistaken against Rodriguez.

Maybe they based their speculation on the last fight of both fighters where Oubaali won while Donaire lost to Inoue.

But if you watch those fights, you can already speculate on who have the upper hand when these two will meet.

Though Donaire lost that fight, he give Inoue a very tough fight and the Japanese Monster almost lost his crown with that left hook of Donaire while Oubaali simply won in the undercard against another Inoue which to me was not an impressive victory.

Like what Donaire said during the post-fight interview, a rematch with Inoue is all what he want, that would be an exciting one.
2831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Donaire vs Oubaali - May 29 on: May 30, 2021, 05:07:24 AM
Father time takes a back seat for Donaire as he knocks out Oubaali in the 4th round after knocking him down twice in the third round he is 38 years old and he is now back congratulations to Donaire he still has the power the speed and his left hook, that really made a big difference.
This is a candidate for a knock-out of the year.

That is very impressive. I thought Donaire was really being underestimated but I expected him to grind out a decision but it was a much easier fight than anticipated. With this historic achievement it proves he deserves to be in the hall of fame when he retires. The fight that makes the most sense now would be a rematch of 2019's fight of the year against Inoue. He deserves that opportunity because he gave Inoue his toughest fight.

I expected a knockout win by Donaire because if it would go a distance, chances are he might lose as he is not much of a volume puncher.

That left hook did not leave Donaire's arsenal until now and i do hope if got a chance to meet Inoue again, that weapon will put the monster to the canvass for good.

^^ not yet settled but it's a win  Smiley.

Congratulations to all the Filipino Flash believer in this forum.
2832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Haney vs Linares - May 29 on: May 29, 2021, 09:20:45 PM
Final press conference:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u52sDtJWwS0

Both guys feeling confident to win the fight. This will be very technical fight, the market though seems to be close as I can't find the betting line in sportsbet. But probably they will open the line again in the next 48 hours as the fight is in this weekend. But Haney seems to be the run-away favourite.

Haney is the more technical and stronger between the two he is at his peak I expect him to dispose of Linares possibly via knock out and then face Ryan Garcia he really wants to fight Garcia but with Garcia having a demon on his head to deal with it will take some time, he is staying on that division for Ryan Garcia if he wins this match, there's a possibility that he will move to a much heavier weight division.

Haney is the more technical here, I agree, but Linares has been in other tough fights so experience goes to him. I agree that both are looking relaxed base on the final press conference. I wonder though why sportsbet market is not open, initially the line is not good for a Haney money line, maybe that's the reason why they close it as it didn't get any attention from boxing bettors.

Finally, the day has come, we will see another great fight today and my Sunday will always be fun.

I'm gonna watch this fight and the Donaire vs Oubaali fight, what a double header for me.

I'm still counting for Haney to win but Linares should give him some good challenge.

This should also be a good fight but i'm wondering why my favorite online bookies didn't cover this fight.

I thought that they will put the odds on their site 24 hours before the fight but until this time, no sign of that.
2833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Donaire vs Oubaali - May 29 on: May 29, 2021, 04:39:18 AM

^^ win via knockout is what i foresee if Nonito Donaire wins this fight. He can't let the judges hand him the decisions as they are a bit bias here because Nonito Donaire is the challenger. If no knockdowns, this will go to Oubaali's way, just my thought though  Smiley.

Pull the trigger now guys before it's too late hehe.
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 29, 2021, 03:37:19 AM
Tatum carry Boston to a win, unstoppable, but the one that is notable is the officiating, how will you make a replay and show that there is no foul and called it still as a foul, the refs almost handed the win to nets, very disappointed how the refs are calling the fouls, it's like they want to give the nets the game three win that's funny.

I'm really not sure what you are talking about but if you are referring on the offensive foul that first called on Durant in the dying seconds then i could say that is a legit one.

The official first called for an offensive foul, then coach Nash challenged the call and upon review they revert it into an offensive foul against Smart. I thought at first that is an offensive foul but on the replay, Smart made a slight move that makes it a blocking foul on him.

Monster game for Tatum, tallying 50 points but the unfortunate part is that Robert Williams sprained his ankle that will make questionable on game 4.

2835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: May 28, 2021, 11:06:28 PM
What a nice observation on whoever created that speculation. It was possible since Marc Pingris' decision surprise even one of his closest teammates before, James Yap so it's really not a thing to expect from Pingris. For now, as of report, it was his age as the main reason and he can't play now to the highest level.

It's really difficult to play at the bubble since the player will leave his family for months. As we know, Pingris is a family-oriented man and I'm not sure if he can able to handle the bubble setup.

Seems there is truth to that "salary" speculation but whatever may the real reason, one thing is for sure Marc's body can't no longer bear the wear and tear in the PBA. He played very physical and in order to maintain that kind of play you have to be 100 percent healthy physically which is a hard thing to maintain if you are older.

We should also thanks to the management for waiting for him. They reserve a slot in the roster in case he decided to suit up for another year and that means that the Magnolia management really value his past contribution to the team.
2836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Donaire vs Oubaali - May 29 on: May 28, 2021, 12:47:33 PM
Would it really help him?

~snip~

Donaire was impressive against Inoue though he loses, this is another undefeated fighter, hence it should be a huge challenge for him.

They said that having a long lay-off in boxing could give them ring rust and i may agree with that but we should also take note that it is not only Donaire who have a long lay-off as Oubaali last fought on the undercard of the Donaire vs Inoue fight so this category should be even to both of them.

Basing on their last fight, Donaire impressed me more that Oubaali though he lost but he give one hell of a fight to Inoue.

2837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 28, 2021, 12:30:12 PM
L.A. Clippers at Dallas +2

Do the Clippers still have a chance to win here. After losing 2 games, I'm curious why they are still the favorites to win.

My pick for tomorrow, Clippers -2.5.

If they want to come back in this series, they should win game 3. I have not heard yet of a team that comeback from a 0-3 deficit and won the series.
2838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr on Aug 21 in Vegas on: May 27, 2021, 11:59:33 AM
Oscar De La Hoya is backing Pacquiao to win against Spence or even Crawford.

https://www.newsbreak.com/news/2146319377254/de-la-hoya-spence-loses-to-pacquiao-and-crawford
Quote
By Chris Williams: Oscar De a Hoya says Errol Spence will lose to Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford due to their technical ability. De La Hoya states that Pacquiao’s speed and mobility will be too much for Spence (27-0, 21 KOs). Oscar’s reasons for picking Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs) over..

What can you say about his opinion?
For me, I will agree as he fought with Manny before and he recognizes Manny's speed and volume of punches.

If only Manny Pacquaio is 32 then i could say that Errol Spence have no chance of winning against Manny.

On the fight against Thurman, the deterioration of endurance was very evident and if not for that knockdown, Manny could have lose that one.

We can only speculate here as a boxing fans and it's good to see that boxing celebrities have taken their side on this fight, adding some spice and hype that could draw more people to watch on PPV.

Thank you also for hitting JMF25 in the groin area thus awaken the giant in him lol.

I never knew that was the start lol. I dig some information and surprise that it's not just a simple hit in a groin area.

It has become a serious medical condition. Because of what you posted, I become curious about that story lol.

More information here: https://sg.news.yahoo.com/news/news/swollen-060206652.html

Cebuano basketball fans would never forgot that incident as it the reason why Junemar Fajardo did not won the Rookie of the Year award and the possible MVP on that same year, the record which was hold by Benjie Paras until now.

But on the brighter side, that incident paved the way for the true friendship of Junemar and Marc Pingris, on and off the court.
2840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 26, 2021, 01:53:24 PM
I can't believe the Clippers are still choking. I thought they are an improved team this season but it looks like they are even worst than last season.

There are only a few teams who had won the series after getting down 2-0... can the Clippers be one of them?
Correct. Now 2 games in Dallas and it will a big plus for the Mavs with the crowd on their side this time.
I can't even see what's lacking in the Clippers team. They almost have the best defenders in all positions in the league.
Kawhi, PG13, Pat Beverley, Morris, Rondo and Ibaka and yet they keep on losing. If this goes with a sweep it will be a big disappointment in 2 seasons.
Last year was already a mess, they should not let this one be the worst of their performance.

Could it be that the high expectations is what makes them perform bad?

Maybe. I, personally expected them to disposed of the Mavericks in 5 games or 6 games the most and we tend to forgot that the Mavs is an improved team at the moment with the leadership of Luka.

I just wonder how much we have won if you are a Kawhi Leonard hater  Smiley.

I just don't know if the Clippers can recover in this series, they must win game 3 and it's not easy doing so as it is a pressure packed game for the Clippers.
