Do the power supplies work? I live an hour and a half from Buffalo if that's about where you are.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay but I can confirm I have received my Ledger Nano S. Everything came well packed and worked fine upon arrival. Highly suggest buying from the seller, came in 3 days as well. I'll get some picture proof in a few minutes.

Every time there's a post in this thread people fail to read the title. Closed For New Participants unless something has changed at Lutpin's discretion which I am not aware of. Someone might have removed their signature? Only reasonable explanation I can think of for people trying to reapply to the campaign. Didn't know it was possible to make posts greyed out but still active at the same time, should be applicable to all "full" campaigns. Each of them imply that they're trying to get accepted into the campaign, not reapplying. It still says CFNP, even if someone did remove their sig. I believe Lutpin has to state otherwise for enrollment opportunities to change. Bad typing, meant just applying. I agree with the rest, guess we've got some early birds here then.

The brand itself usually doesn't matter as much as how the chip is actually binned. Lower binned cards have lower memory and core clocks and higher mem and core for better binned cards. Here's what I could find for EVGA (likely outdated but still a decent reference): https://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=59163EVGA also has a crappy aluminum hunk of metal as a heatspreader on one model of their 1060s.

Check the connectors to the blades. Like fanatic said there's only one blade functioning, take a pic of the blades if possible. Not sure if it is just me but the link doesn't work. Take another picture of the blades and also the main UI.

Bitmain themselves are the best option most of the time, unfortunately their batches are pretty much preorders as you likely already know.
The computer hardware section of this forum is a nice place to go searching for miner deals, if you see something there you like make sure to use escrow on the transaction (always!). Not many actual 'stores' that are legit that I know of otherwise. Holybitcoin is legit but their miners have been OOS most of the time.

I realised nobody appears to have any concerns about the temperature. Is 84 degree celsius a very normal working temperature for the chips? What will be their projected lifespan? Please correct me as I am currently still running on S7s. Bitmain's S7 28nm chips are already failing after long usage at ~60. Although the straight forward profit calculation shows a fast turnaround for ROI. But in the long run, will the repair fees start to close up the gap and S9 will still remain as the more profitable miner.
I've run some S7s with low fan speeds with temps at ~84-85c for extended periods of time as well and they worked for a good year before I sold them. Repair fees could get pretty costly as they might ask for shipment back to China on your own dime just like Bitmain. Replacing the fans with a higher-CFM fan could also work. Just a disadvantage of a high-powered unit, gets more and more difficult to cool em.

is it safe to send them bitcoin cash ?
Yes, if the order doesn't go to verified or whatever they use nowadays after a transaction just contact support. They specifically say they accept BCH and it does work.

Everyone is completely missing the point.
The Gekkoscience Compac and 2Pac are strictly SHA256 miners. It isn’t possible to mine Litecoin, which is a scrypt currency, with the sticks.
One Scrypt USB miner is the Futurebit Moonlander 2, which has sold out but would be what you would want to look at if you want a Scrypt stick. Keep in mind these are mainly lottery mining units or collectibles and you won’t be making hundreds from them.
|
|
|
The minergate miner may also be less optimized than other so-called console miners which would explain why it is slower. I’d suggest mining with a console miner for best performance. Not sure about them stealing hashpower but if the miner is slower why use it? It’s a big price for small comforts.

The first liquid cooled GPU miner? As if custom and AIO loops didn’t exist. Don’t like the misinformation on the front page and seems to be some low effort vaporware for now. The GPUs are real but this particular company doesn’t seem to be legit. Preorders are another huge red flag.

Really depends what you're comfortable with. Nobody can predict the future and there's no guarantee coins you hold will be worth more in the future. I personally tend to mine and continue to expand on operations. I'd try doing a bit of both and seeing what works out.

two options:
1. Mine BURST on a USB HHD (you will get slim to no returns)
2. mine with Sidehack SCRYPT USB (Slim returns)
The only problem is Sidehack has never and will probably never release a scrypt stickminer. You’re probably referring to the Futurebit Moonlander 2s made by jstefanop. Burst can be slightly profitable with USB HDDs but there are better mining options than a heap of HDDs that can result in a faster return.

Screenshot and escrow. Tell the escrower to release the funds only when you receive the miner and when you confirm everything is working. A screenshot or pic of the status page with the name of the forum user next to it is about the best picture proof you can get. You can also ask for the seller to mine on a pool of your choice for a bit to see if it works well if the seller agrees with it. Pretty much as long as you have a reputable escrower you cannot go wrong.

^What he said!
I have no idea what the person above you was even rambling about. The D3 mines only X11 and X11 is not compatible with any other X algorithm. There is no way to modify it to make it do so. I've posted this ten times and I'll post it again for all of you people.
The D3 is an ASIC-based miner. It can only hash one algorithm that it was physically designed to hash because of the way ASICs work. The Baikal miners and multi algo X-series miners were FPGA miners that could be reconfigured to hash different algorithms with a firmware update (FPGAs are designed to be modified). No firmware update can add more algorithms to the D3. Only a new miner release could do that, and it'd require Bitmain to make an FPGA-based miner which would also decrease the efficiency of the miner.
Signing this will not do anything and it wouldn't even if Bitmain wanted to. There's no way to "add" algorithms on to existing miners.
Man, I'm with you with how frustrating these people are. It's like you telling them 1 + 2 always equals 3. And they are like "Oh yes. That is true, but what if you do 2 + 1? Eh?" Just let the retards tire themselves out dreaming. It'd be great if mods would lock threads like this. Oh well, guess people will dream. Considering how much Bitmain wants to be the most efficient in everything I don't ever think they'll release a multi-algo miner.

Declined the refund, situation was resolved. I understand the circumstances and that things like this happen. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting scammed (though I was already pretty sure of that). Still an overall positive experience and I'll leave proof of receiving it when I get it.

Mining performance of these cards will be an interesting statistic as these cards are FPGAs but I’m surprised Bitmain is diversifying so much this year into alts and even deep learning. Of all the companies I would have expected to enter the deep learning market Bitmain was probably in the back of my mind.

Still can’t believe we’ve gone up three thousand in just the last month. Wild times, regret selling in the past like everyone as hindsight is 20/20 but still happy that I have the coins I have. We’re also in the adoption phase which is the best part

2000 Watt is too much for 11.5 TH I can buy these miners if they need less power than 1400 Watt.
They’re trying to make the miner near the hashpower of the S9 but the major issue is that the chips are 28nm and it’s nearly as efficient as it can be on that platform. Mostly just the limitations of the node for power.
