If I am not mistaken it looks like what you got there was the beaglebone and you need the I/O board to go with it.
I thought I saw somewhere that someone had said the newer S9's did not use the beaglebone any longer.
there are two styles of controller: bitmainwarranty has second model which is a slotless sdcard all in one board. it can be pulled if dead. and you can use the first controller for batch one is two piece sdcard slotted and will run my newer boards. I have used the two piece unit to run the batch nine boards. my error was cause by a lack of photos on their website. But not to worry I have come up with an idea to mod the s9. I will be waiting for new parts and replace the dead 1 card board with a 2 piece older board.

I need one S9 controller, The newer version with the one-piece board, not the older version that are in your pictures . if you order the two pieces they work with new boards. my one piece controller died. all of its boards work on the two piece controller . I thought I was buying the one piece controller. But I got ½ of the two piece unit. annoying as fuck since no photos fooled me. but if you have 2 piece controller : the two of these will work the one piece controller the two of these will work. it seems they are 3 versions at a minimum. batch 1 which is bb + fan board. later batches which are cylclone + fan board. lastly batch 9 and up which is the 1 piece board. the hash boards from my new batch work on my older controllers. So I will now wait for more parts. but i have a mod idea i will try soon.

I'm interested, located in US but would love a screen capture of the GUI showing how its been running.
Well for now until monday I will continue to screen shot the miner at kano.is on monday I will be at the solar array and can photo the screen shot compare to the other 2 please note time stamps. realize these three pieces are the trouble free ones. the two offline below are the ones in my home. here is my thread that talks about the offline ones https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1618169.20![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F9Fw0Nfr.png&t=663&c=TCPZCebVSJ4H1w)

I got this part today https://bitmainwarranty.com/shop/products/us/s9-control-pcb-c5/and it appears to be wrong, but I will check as to my error. A photo would have helped I thought I was getting everything I needed and just drop it in. I will post clear photos in a bit. I need both pieces https://bitmainwarranty.com/shop/products/us/s9-io-pcb-no-network-port/https://bitmainwarranty.com/shop/products/us/s9-control-pcb-c5/as a preemptive strike I am ordering: Order Details Product-------------------------------------- Total S9 I/O PCB (NO Network Port) × 2------- $40.00 S9 Control PCB C5 × 1------------------ $98.00 Fan for Antminer S3, S5, S5+, S7, S9 × 2 $49.98 Subtotal:---------------------------------- $187.98 Shipping: $22.85 via Product Shipping Did Not Qualified for Cash/BTC Discount: $10.54 Payment Method: PayPal Total:--------------------------------------- $221.37 This will give me spare parts. I also now have an idea or two on modding the two units off warranty. I will show mods for off warranty gear. here is a full working batch 1 controller photo it has two parts. next to it is what I ordered it is one of the two parts ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FPwI1iks.jpg&t=663&c=4RK5HjBt16lSrA) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FBvPs6qV.jpg&t=663&c=9pFjvt9tk2Qw9g) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F2HOgixg.jpg&t=663&c=Xh87NKRt-Yb7tQ) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FXOZgKMm.jpg&t=663&c=gZ-GquX7ZUJo3w)

What batch/ speed is it? does it have any quirks.. (runs hot on one board, needs to be rebooted every x hours etc..) Would you please pm me a stats screen that is @ least 24 hours old, If its not stable for at a minimum of one day, I'm not interested. ( have one i reboot every 2 days or it hangs/hashes @ reduced rate)sorry for all the questions, I have had really bad luck with s9's as of late.
I'm about to buy a pair of reasonably priced s7' and pull some s5's out of retirement to replace a dead s9, I'd buy your s9 if you have a reasonable price and it's okayish
please post or pm some details about your s9
Thanks
fair enough it is a batch two 12.93th it is stable at the 525-543 freq range. Which I do out of an abundance of caution. It is one of these three. I need to drive to solar array to screen shot the gui. these show it running for the last 4 days ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FiNlM8EP.png&t=663&c=DiGXeNXQOMtj5Q) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FNeEfpJc.png&t=663&c=FTkFjhLey9hb0Q)

Hey philipma1957, figured I'd move our conversation over to your thread since it's more appropriate... So what hashrate are you getting with claymore on those 4G MSI's? And did you find a better price than jet.com for those cards? I'm getting ready to give a shot at building a 7 card rig, so if I could use the 4G, then I think it would end up costing me almost the same as the 6x 8G config. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Low 20's. 21.4 to 22.2 Jet is best price. But I get taxed as they are NJ based. Sometimes I can do,better on eBay but it is a complex purchase. I buy eBay gift cards with a 5 to 10 percent discount then wait for eBay to offer an ebucks discount of 8 to 10 percent. Then certain eBay companies sell new cards with no,taxes. So if all three things align it beats the jet price. I got some Msi card for 177 which is good.

I have five antminer s9s. I want to sell one. I am in the state of NJ.
i now have a pending sale.

I'll have a GB/Sales thread up in the next few days. Probably use USPS Small flat rate for shipping the little orders like that, Phil.
Yeah was hoping for that as it is cheap and fast. Should just about 51 or so with shipping. I will watch for it.

Are people seeing any board revisions in newer batches to address any of the stability issues?
My batch 9-10 was a revised unit the boards and the controller are different. one board died and the controller died. I was looking to spend for 3 s9's one in mid August one in early sept one in late sept. the mid august unit has been really bad, So I have stopped buying s9s for now I expanded the gpu-eth angle instead.

I'm gonna go ahead and say one board with three 18" cables is $20. Sheathing currently is some extra expense and a lot of extra hassle, so one board and three 18" cables is $22.30
I will probably set up a group buy thread. I'm not so much for preorders, but since this is a proven design and PCBs are already on order and so are pretty much all the components, I'm not too worried about it.
Okay 2 x 22.30 = $44.60 plus shipping let me know when to pay I am onboard for two of these.

You really have a passion for starting threads in hardware, don't you?
If I am going to be saved I don't mind if my savior is Chinese. Please keep posting. But you need to know loud noise covers the noise of drilling a safe so this particular idea may attract criminals

What is the point in underclocking a miner? Obviously I can see why someone would overclock a device to push it to the max, but what benefit do you get by slowing it down? Is it just to reduce the amount of power you are drawing/ heat generated to hopefully increase the lifespan of a device? Or are there other benefits?
My Kia Forte can do 100 MPH on an empty highway I drive it at 80 mph on en empty highway. Why ? 1) safety 2) safety 3) safety 4) it will last longer. Back to topic. Most new gear no longer roi's in 80-100 days. Even with cheap power. The game is changed so running gear oc'd is more of a loser then ever. If you own s9's and oc they burn and die. I have 26 gpus I slightly lower volts don't push them and lo and behold no gear dies. My savings on gear damage is huge. S-3 was a good oc item freq 243 or 250 vs freq 225 easy s-5 was good and s-7 was okay. I have batches 1 and 2 so 612 or 618 vs 600 worked okay

Little farther off topic than ideal right now.
Sorry my fault I lead him down that road. I won't need much, but 2 little boards with pcie in and four pin out and the pcie to four pin cables that come with it. so 2 boards and I guess 6 cables is what I will need. two sets of this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgekkoscience.com%2Fimg_stash%2F5V6PIN%2FDSCN2332.JPG&t=663&c=PH8wkY5RR0aHkw)

Your 5th generation open rig with Sidehack's wrapped cables and molex breakout boards looks very clean and might be something we would be interested in. Are you selling these rigs (Complete or just shells) or selling the plans with a parts list?
I've been considering making them available - the main reason I haven't is just because they're quite a bit more expensive than the open frame rigs, so didn't really want to listen to people complaining about how much they cost. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I view them as a fixed equipment purchase while I swap out cards, etc - so for me I'd rather pay a bit more and have a clean/high quality solution that's easy to work with. Which is also why I love sidehack's work. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) @ markAZ. How much mh you got ?
I am now at 25 cards around 550mh.
I do no bios flashing and run pretty much stock 20/21 for rx 470 and 25 for rx 480
I don't do any bios flashing either - and the total is just shy of 2GH/s. I've just been slowing adding machines, so I'll probably go to about 3GH with this setup. I'm using the Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB RX470's, and seeing pretty consistent 24MH/s with Claymore (which is what I run on everything). I only have a couple of RX480's (the original ones), and they perform almost identically to the RX470's (at least the ones I buy). 2gh is nice. I can't cool my garage enough to get to 2gh. I have 2 x 30 amp 240 volt lines so I can do over 10kwatts of power. I just won't be able to cool that off. My goal for the winter is 32 cards and about 700mh. Cards 26 and 27 arrive next week. I like a few cards this one is decent http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137024&cm_re=msi_rx_470-_-14-137-024-_-Product
