2841  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buying property with crypto on: November 22, 2020, 03:49:50 PM
@Lucius was right and I tend to agree with that reply, in the UK it's possible nowadays to purchase a property using Bitcoin but what I'm not really sure is how you will deal with the taxes along the way. I haven't heard any news or information about how the UK government collect tax for cryptocurrency transaction with regards to real estate.

I suggest for you to check it first with The Financial Reporting Council in order to have full knowledge about your plan and of course not to be scammed as well since this is barely new and scammers are always at large that could take advantage of the situation.
2842  Economy / Economics / Re: US Firm Launches Company-Sponsored Bitcoin Retirement Plans on: November 22, 2020, 03:20:08 PM
It's good news though, it's another hype for mass adoption is the thread all about though it's really advantageous for the Bitcoin space for it depicts the possibility that the American government will adopt bitcoin as well in no time, and if this happens everything will follow the absolute adoption will be attained by bitcoin.

However, with this plan, the demand and transactions will also increase which could make the process much slower and fees will increase though this may only happen in the early stage along the way resolution can be provided and fix the issue.

So, there's someone cooking  here. It is good to see that there are certain companies in U.S. have that unique retirement plans like this but the thing is only 10% is the maximum allocation in this plan, I actually one of the haters of retirement plans especially the 401k before because my goal is to achieve financial freedom and not just comfortable life like those people who are seeking job security and applying those kind of plan. Disclaimer that there is no bad thing applying in that kind of traditional retirement plans, my mindset is just different from the others. I do not now why I hate pensions and some retirement plans but one thing is sure it is because of the information that I keep reading in different books. This kind of firms are usually hold millions of dollars and the 10% for sure is huge and it can also affect the movement in the market.
Ain't against your belief but I don't see any negative concept on retirement plans or pensions since it's us who will benefit from this.
2843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When this gonna change. What's happening with advancement? on: November 22, 2020, 02:34:44 PM
IMO, it should not be replaced instead it should only adapt to the environment.  I don't see any bad thing having a lot of paper works in any bank since it's a hard copy of identity and transactions that were held in each day and having blockchain technology is another form of advancement in a bank which made it easier and can smoothen every transaction of customers to the services being offered by the banks.

In fact, those paper works can also be used as a backup file and a reference if in case the blockchain technology fails in a certain period, that made all these transactions more secure unless a culprit will intentionally break the law.
2844  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKEx Withdrawals Suspended No More on: November 21, 2020, 04:30:36 PM
I have doubt that users will lure to stay just because of those opportunities offered by the Okex team as they stated in the article.  As a promise of 100% withdrawal without any restrictions, also the loyalty reward and the sudden price increase of their OKB token will might users didn't want to have a full withdraw of their fund, instead invest on OKB token.

OKB token had hype recently and I don't think so we can determine by that user's will leave or they are just investing OKB token because they know there's a new ATH that could potentially be making a good profit.

I have also doubt in my mind that newbies will have fear once they know that this exchange platform was compromised before.
2845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life, gambling and trials. on: November 21, 2020, 03:15:51 PM
Same as with the others I often lose than winning probably it's the reality that most gamblers are afraid to accept because we keep on gambling with the hopes to win every time we play.  Sadly, some gamblers tend to say that they do gambling for entertainment but the reality behind that statement is their hopes of winning made them in denial of their perception towards gambling.

Going back to the topic depending on the prize I may go and have some vacation to think on how and where to spend the remaining prize if the prize is huge enough then I might invest it into business and a portion of it will still be used for my gambling activities.  However, if the prize that I will win is only a small amount I will save some of it and the rest will still be spent on gambling, IMO.
2846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deutsche Bank: Investors Increasingly Choose Bitcoin Over Gold on: November 21, 2020, 02:39:39 PM
The Deutsche Bank report isn't new to every Bitcoins investor, though it boosts people's awareness of Bitcoins and it contributes only to possible mass adoption.  However, golds and silvers are still the same as Bitcoins for both can still be considered as a safe haven for an asset the only thing that made Bitcoin's differ from the others is that bitcoin is a decentralized currency and because it has a limitation on the numbers of coins that can be mined that gives better value compared to the traditional one like gold where resources are abundant.

Radicalism makes people think that Bitcoin can surpass the quality of gold when it comes to value and as an asset due to its resources and abundance.
2847  Economy / Economics / Re: Is corona virus crisis changing economical equations around the world? on: November 21, 2020, 02:18:16 PM
IMO, both economic and political aspect was impacted by the pandemic, since lockdown was implemented in most areas in every country then some people lose their jobs and the buying routine started to change for everyone has started to be wiser on their spending and to mention.  Some businesses started to lessen their employees or worse closes the business at all which slows down the economic growth of a country.

Politically, it is obvious that changes may still be served if there are already actions made by the government which is directly different from the political norms regardless if it is a new or the same people that were elected by the citizens.
2848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's fees on: November 20, 2020, 05:35:55 PM
Quote
Will we see the joint-rise in miners fees like we did back in 2017? It's essentially the miner's fee rise that made Bitcoin drop.
Look at the mempool statistics, the chart shows of having a huge drop of Bitcoin's transactions which mean the fees aren't that high since mempool network isn't congested.  There's no correlation between the fees and the price movement in the market, still, the demand and supply were Bitcoin's price based.

Quote
..what good is Bitcoin?
As I can see, this isn't good for now of having frequent transactions or being used as a payment method, people are aware of the possible profit once they hold this and sell when the price is high.  The good advantage of Bitcoin is the possible safe-haven investment.

Quote
So, will we see a sudden miner fee rise this time? One that will bring Bitcoin crashing down like at the beginning of 2018?
I believed the price manipulation and continued spreading FUD news.  Regarding the miner's fee, it will increase if the network is congested that experiences heavy traffic due to the backlog of transactions and also pushes up transaction fees as demand outweighs supply.
2849  Economy / Exchanges / Re: what you think about bitcoin/bch/paypal does paypal cheating on: November 20, 2020, 05:10:04 PM
They're not cheating, IMO.  That's a pure business that they know that Bitcoin is very popular at this moment.  In fact, Paypal isn't a form of investment platform, they are just a payment method service were to accept payment and Bitcoin is on the mainstream that's why they limit but its regulation and as a user, you should always check first the Terms and Condition before you will use so that you will know how their service work.  In Paypal's Terms and Condition, they already stated there how it will works if you will purchase cryptocurrency on that platform.

If you know that you can't able to send your Bitcoin to external wallets, why you will still use that platform in investing in Bitcoin.  There are too many alternative ways to purchase Bitcoin that you have your own key under your control, so why use Paypal if your purpose is to invest Bitcoin not just a payment method.  Good thing, they had brought awareness from many people and might they are the one reason for Bitcoin recently surged in the market.
2850  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying and selling on this forum on: November 19, 2020, 04:11:57 PM
Selling goods or any related to physical products might be risky to both seller and buyer, it could be the buyers are fraud or it could the sellers that there's no real item to be delivered.  So, it really hard for a newbie to start a business here just like selling goods, unlike, if your account here is fully established and valuable members, it could be.

Regarding the escrow, I don't know how it will work.  I think it's a little bit of hassle holding both transactions the physical product and the payment, unlike if the is a digital product that easy to transfer.  I prefer to buy in the official and trusted store for any physical product that you want to purchase online IMO.

Well, good luck OP with selling your products.
2851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 25k new Bitcoin addresses in 1 hour on: November 19, 2020, 03:31:04 PM
That's a big NO for me, even though exchange can generate tons of Bitcoin addresses in different users in just an hour.  I remember HitBTC exchange, they can generate different Bitcoin addresses as much as you can or generate new address after you have used for privacy purposes.  The true indicator of the valid metric has data, graphs, stats, and of course, the right source on it just like what said posted above.

I don't know what is the purpose of generating thousands of addresses or it was a coincidence that someone will be trying to manipulate the Bitcoin network for their own purpose IMO.  But I really appreciate the report of the glassnode showing the graph of generated addresses.

However, whatever it is, still the news is on the positive side of Bitcoin.
2852  Economy / Economics / Re: Asia-Pacific nations sign world’s biggest trade pact on: November 17, 2020, 11:54:09 PM
If it is for the betterment of every country that will join in this open trade agreement then no questions at all.  Like the European Union that brings solidarity to its members this open trade agreement can be the start of a stronger economy for its members.  However, it may seem to be for the good of every member but it could also lead to the fall of a few because countries that have a strong economy may eat the weak ones and soon gain full control over the economy of the others only IMO.
2853  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gunbot trading story on: November 17, 2020, 11:45:02 PM
Thanks for mentioning me; jossiel now I saw this thread.
Don't mention it.
Yes, you are.  You mentioned above the name that's why the notification bot triggered and sent notification to that user.

I heard and saw many threads of Gunbot here(how to use) so many times with the most reputable members and I think most of them can vouch for this trading bot too.  TBH, I haven't use Gunbot in my trading either of it's like because I prefer to do the trading on my own so I could have full control of it and blame no one except for my self every time I lose.  Most all the time the traders that need automated trading bot is I think the day trader because of the need to monitor the moment of the market price.

However, though I never patronize it that doesn't mean I am against it especially if Gunbot works perfectly fine with the others then I may suggest it as well with my friends who plan to use such a platform for their trading activities.
2854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did Grayscale get so much Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2020, 11:22:04 PM
I tend to agree above with my post.

Grayscale is indeed the most trusted custodial service and they act like a bank for Bitcoin holders regardless of whether you are a small or huge investor like whales.  The important thing here is they never break the trust that was given to them by their investors. However greyscale are a custodial service to most of them then they could take control over the trading market as a big whale if they intend to.

I can't imagine they hold 500,000 BTC Worth $8.5 Billion Currently Owned By Grayscale
2855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crypto Scammer on the run on: November 17, 2020, 11:06:39 PM
For some reason, the news about the culprit already convinced me that authorities are already doing their job in protecting their citizens against scammers for both fiat and cryptocurrency.  I don't blame OP if he has lost his trust for Nigerian maybe because he has past experience but of course, scammers are not only from Nigeria they are around the globe like predators waiting for their prey 24 hours a day.

I don't want to blame these people but I think due to our economic crisis everyone can make fraudulent cases like this.  So, must be careful when handling our cryptocurrencies or investing projects.
2856  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I trust cryptocurrencies? on: November 17, 2020, 05:05:01 PM
Honestly, it seems to me that are some big players that control this industry. I think they mine whenever they want to manipulate the prices. Can you please explain how can I trust crypto more? Thank you
If you understand how it will work, you definitely don't ask this doubtful question.

Trust is like faith you don't see it physically but you believe in it.  If you would ask anyone in this forum how they trust cryptocurrencies it is the same as they have faith in it.  Regarding who controls the price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, it is us who make changes on the demand as well as with the supply though the supply is fixed if an investor, especially the whales, sell it in the market then the availability of it will be higher than of demand so there will be changes on the price yet nevertheless trusting cryptocurrency because of it's volatility depends on your outlook.

I suggest you understand it well and invest at your own risk.
2857  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after 3rd Halving prediction on: November 17, 2020, 04:04:43 PM
We had been witnessed the 1st and 2nd halving, so this is expected that there is a pump happen on the 3rd halving.

James Todaro head researcher of Tradeblock is correct when he is mentioned that after the halving the price may increase around $12k to $15k which we are currently experiencing now.  In fact, for some reasons which I'm not really sure we were able to go beyond it. Looking forward to May 12, 2021, where Bitcoin's price will pump to $387,000 I'm hesitant to claim that this will come true though global adoption is faster than what we are expecting but still a lot of factors or obstacles that may hinder us to achieve this prediction.

Therefore, it is always worth holding Bitcoin in a long run.
2858  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think about TheCoinsTechie, a supposed PC hardware store? on: November 17, 2020, 03:26:46 PM
I tend to agree comment above, it's kinda red flag to me.  Untrustworthy.

I checked the website and the address that you can find at the bottom part is listed to a different business which made me convinced to circumvent, besides there are other stores both online and physical that offer the same yet don't need too much personal information like this.  However, if I really need to buy something for my PC I'd rather go to a physical store which I think is more secure and at least I know where to go if it requires me to return or replace the item that I bought.  Or in trusted merchants which is already gained buyers' trust.
2859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin penetrates into $17 000 on: November 17, 2020, 03:05:03 PM
It became realistic now. We're from $9k - $10k and had a rush to $16k and becoming stable on this level.
Indeed, there's a lot more logical and realistic now, and not just steeped in false hopes leftover from the crypto bubble that commonly said for those who want FUD.

I'm very optimistic and I know others too.  Definitely, it will probably reach $20k at the end of this year since more and more are getting aware of Bitcoins and with the recent Citibank reports that were released a couple of days ago, it promotes Bitcoin where awareness and trust of the public can be gained.
Because of these large companies like Paypal, Citibank, and other companies who started to acquire Bitcoin in their services and has a million account holding Bitcoin that may start to get into Bitcoin then it could possibly make the demand higher and the price will surely kick more than what we're expecting before the end of the year.

The $17k resistance as of now hopefully will remain and go upward but we need to consider the short correction too, beware.
2860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Goes Mainstream: Will Facebook And Google Support Cryptocurrency Adoption on: November 17, 2020, 02:13:00 PM
We're on mainstream, IMO.  Not goes to the mainstream.

Whether if Facebook and Google will follow the path of Paypal or not it doesn't matter as long as they don't go against cryptocurrency which I believe that they really don't because like Facebook they are trying to build the project Libra since 2018 as their own cryptocurrency.  Regarding the ads payment using crypto can somehow help to promote Bitcoin and the likes.

And using crypto as payment in Facebook and Google may not be useful to some if we are don't have a business that needs social media as a mean of the advertisement but we just need to see it in another way that it can still help us for the global adoption of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
