I think the expansion of the gambling industry is moving towards online gambling and the number of gamblers is increasing from several factors:

- The proliferation of the internet
- Redistribution of jobs (the number of people working online increases every year)
- Pandemic

Curacao license is one of the cheapest, so it gets a huge number of online gambling sites. You should not expect that your problems will be resolved by the licensing authority. There are many stories on the Internet when even licensed casinos have not acted honestly with their users.
2845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why should Gambling be legalized ? on: December 30, 2021, 01:46:42 PM
In my opinion legalization of gambling is a very good solution only if the land-based casinos are allocated separate zones where gamblers come as it is done in Las Vegas. If casinos will be placed on every corner in every city it's more likely to bring more problems than benefits to both the state and citizens.

Often the first parts are the best in the sequel and very often the filmmakers fail to meet our expectations. I'll probably watch The Matrix even if it disappoints me like I did with Dune, from which I expected so much more. But in my opinion it is definitely not worth skipping such films.
2850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: December 29, 2021, 01:58:08 PM
in the first place, he wouldn't take this fight if he is not fit and ready at all.

Regardless of whether Mike Tyson is fit or not to fight, the fact that they were able to see the flow of money in exhibition matches, that's the only reason aside of course from giving entertainment. They saw the potential of a money-making scheme when Tyson fought RJJ in their exhibition match.

For the record, that exhibition match against RJJ was held without an audience but still, they earned over $80 million in pay-per-view alone. What if there's an audience. That was the biggest PPV earnings last year defeating the revenue of real professional matches that also held on that year.

Of course these fights are just for the money. Rumor has it that Mike Tyson is bankrupt, so for him to take part in such fights is a great opportunity to get back to his carefree life. That's why I'm not expecting a serious fight. The most interesting thing for me is to look at Mike Tyson's fitness, as I don't agree with many that he has lost it.

That rumor is not true, if he is bankrupt then he should not be fighting now and appearing in different fights. If you watched some popular fights in the past, you can see Mike Tyson in the VIP sits and that simply means he can afford to pay for those chair and he is not bankrupt.

I read that he has a marijuana farm, but I couldn't find any information on whether it still works. I don't think if he didn't need the money he'd be back in the ring. I think that for someone like Mike Tyson, the ring is really the easiest way to make a lot of money quickly and effortlessly.
2851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: December 29, 2021, 01:47:18 PM
I think with the further development of blockchain technology and meta universes we will see more and more online casinos where AR/VR can be used and all bets in the game will be fully verifiable with smart contracts and Oracles. The idea is that this should attract even more people to gambling.

2854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Animal racing on: December 28, 2021, 07:13:14 PM

I never heard of cow racing before, sounds a bit crazy for my taste.

It is in my country, Indonesia. Even held every tradition festival in a certain area every year. Including as a medium of conventional betting that is carried out openly, and is almost excluded from legal action due to the strong reason of their tradition.
I've seen it live several times. If I can judge it, it's the most excruciating race that basically forces non-species animals to run as fast as possible.

I've heard about these crazy races. If I'm not mistaken, this event is held in the rice fields after the harvest, which resemble mud puddles at this point. I sincerely do not understand why it is not done on a level surface, although it is a kind of demonstration of bulls' endurance.

If you compare horse racing and bullfighting, horses are treated more humanely. Horses are specially bred fast and hardy, so I think that horse racing is quite normal entertainment which, if it injures the horse, it happens by accident. I am not a particular fan of horse racing because I do not know about it. But if people like it, then why not.
2857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thriller Triad combat - Does the tringle shaped ring affect the betting outcome? on: December 28, 2021, 01:00:48 PM
I've never seen any of these fights I'll have to take a look.

It seems to me that boxers should have a distinct advantage over MMA fighters because they are used to working only with their hands. I think it's hard for MMA fighters to adjust their tactics to hand-to-hand combat, which is implied by the rules of these fights. But on the other hand these fighters are very agile and have in their stock punches, which boxers usually do not use.
2858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Animal racing on: December 28, 2021, 12:41:14 PM
I don't think that if any of us think that using horses in horse racing or bulls in bullfighting is animal cruelty anything will change. These entertainments were formed decades ago and are in some respects part of the culture.

Attending these kinds of events and betting on them is a personal matter for each of us.
2859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: December 27, 2021, 06:04:09 PM
I believe that Mario Barrios has a good chance to win this fight since Keith Thurman has not been in the ring for over two and a half years. That time might have taken its toll on his physical condition. Mario Barrios also has a height and arm length advantage, which might help him. It will be interesting to see this fight.

But the thing is that Barrios is the one going up in weight and we don't know if he can handle a full 147 lbs boxers. He was knockout by a midget (Tank Davis) at 140 lbs. What more of a legitimate welterweight with powers in both hands? So I doubt that he can pull an upset just because Thurman has not been in the ring for two years.

Each of us has our own views on this or that fight and boxers. This is quite normal. Also, this is my assumption and I do not advise to use this information when making decisions when betting on one of the boxers. I probably won't bet on this fight myself, but I will definitely watch it. There is still enough time to change my mind though.

Well I'm been betting on boxing matches for years now, and one thing I've look in the boxers past fights and the weight his in. So obviously, Barrios here is coming from a lost (and so is Thurman), but in this fight, he might not be comfortable going up in weight in 147 lbs. So he is really at a disadvantage here and that's why I said the chances for him are slim to upset a fighter like Thurman in a division that he is more familiar with.

Some sports analysts believe that after such a long break it is hard to return to the ring in the same form as Keith Thurman had before the three-year break. That's why I think the odds are even. May the best man win, but I'd like to see Mario Barrios win. I like the fact that he took this fight so well and that deserves a lot of credit.
2860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: December 27, 2021, 12:59:00 PM
Of course, that is whey we have weight classes here, because it aids us in analysing the fight. As Barrios is not used to this weight, while Thurman has been campaigning at welterweight since the beginning of his career. Unless Barrios are like the greats, Pacman and Canelo Alvarez who goes up in weight and defeated their opponents. There's nothing extraordinary with him, in fact we all know that Davis has knock him out already. And so fighting a bigger guy in Thurman might be a problem for Barrios.

As far as I know Mario Barrios changes his weight class on the advice of his coach. I don't think he wants to ruin his boxing career with this decision. And we don't see what's going on behind the scenes. It is quite possible that while he was out of the ring his training was more intense to feel good in the welterweight division.
