2841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 16, 2022, 04:49:48 AM
Australia somehow managed to win the match by two wickets only. It was a batting friendly pitch and Sri Lanka had set a good target too. The DLS method had made the game more favourable for Sri Lanka. But Stoinis has played well in the middle over and Maxwell has finished the game in his style. However, it was a competitive game in the last few overs as Australia had only two wickets left.

Sri Lanka has once again performed poorly in ODI format, and that too playing at home. Fortunately for them, this series is not part of the World Cup Super League, else they would have been in big trouble. Still, there is a very slim chance that Sri Lanka would be able to secure automatic qualification to the world cup, because they just have 62 points from 18 matches. Giving a good fight to their opponents won't help them in the long term. They need to win matches against the big 3 teams, and that's all that matters.

I actually don't think that Sri Lanka played that badly. I actually think they have done well enough in the batting department but yes, in the bowling department, the performance of Sri Lanka was questionable.

Except for Wanindu Hasaranga, no other bowlers of Sri Lanka were able to perform well and Australia really took advantage of that.
Sri Lanka had good enough runs on the board. Right now I don't see them winning against any bigger team.
Srilanka played quiet good this time. It was Maxwell who helped Australia to win the match. Srilankan spinners dominated the match after the drizzle. The ball was staying low and was spinning incredibly. If the medium pacer had bold good then Australia would have lost the match.

Hardik Pandya is a good choice as a T20 captain. I also feel that BCCI should have given some more opportunities to lead the T20 team. India still has two more matches left with South Africa. I hope the team doesn't lose anymore matches under the captaincy of Rishab Panth otherwise he will not be given any opportunity by the BCCI later.

Imagine buying in Dec 2017 at $19,326 just to see it at $21,326 after 5 years of HODL.  Roll Eyes

Imagine buying a flash top 5 years prior (that lasted all of a 2 days btw, so no one did that), just to see it turn into a solid support level 5 years later?

Yeah, we are so dumb.  Roll Eyes

If ~$68k becomes solid support w/o leverage 5 years from now, I'll take that progress over the shitty stonk market any day.

I did imagine that and I found that I would have been a millionaire at that time. Unfortunately I am still a miserable guy with hope, stubbornness and contemporary thinking.

Another stable USDD not looking good. This can become a big issue with the current market situation as USDD is backed by the Tron DAO network. At the moment the value is well below $1 not by a 1 cent but by 4 cents.

Where will it go? Already 20k and counting backwards. I am not expecting it to go below 20k. I think some institutional investor might come to its rescue at that level.

Here are the Bitcoin Holdings from Public Companies

Micro Strategy and Tesla’s  average cost are between $30000-$32000

I guess they are the ones who are benefitting at the moment by accumulating more Bitcoin.

Might be a better option, although i've no idea how efficient this JIO fiber is because i use excitel services and i'm kinda satisfied with the connectivity. I pay almost 5800 inr yearly for their fiber service (100 mbps) without any OTT benefits (not counting any other OTT platform, which i use in sidelines) they do have some plans with OTT services included in upgraded plans which i'm yet to check.

If you have senior citizen in your home then i guess you should stick with the local cable too, i also pay 350 inr/pm in Delhi without any benefits, only because my maa and sasu maa are not familiar with the tech stuff.

Paying less than ₹500 per month for the Jio Fiber is OK. But how are their services? Airtel is at least 2x more expensive and the justification that they usually give is that their services are of a much higher quality. BTW, I don't have a broadband connection as of now, as I use 4G instead for my needs. I used to pay ₹1,500 per month for Airtel broadband before Jio revolutionized the 4G market. Once 4G became available, I just cancelled my broadband connection, as it no longer made any sense. We can have 60GB per month high speed 4G data for just ₹250, while Airtel broadband was asking 6 times that amount. I see that they have reduced their pricing, but if I need to chose between Jio and Airtel, then I will be more inclined towards Jio.

Jio is better and cheaper than Airtel in many ways. When you buy the Jio fiber package you can also opt for different OTT platforms. The same now had been added by Airtel but the service and speed are far much better. In a few days, 5G services will get activated in teir1 cities then the speed will be way higher than what you are getting on 4G. I have used both of them but I would prefer Jio over Airtel anytime.

What an amazing match.. when the 5th day's play started, never in my wildest dreams I had imagined that England had a chance to win. And this is exactly how test matches need to be played. Such matches will make sure that the fans remain interested in the test format. On the other hand, look at the recent boring matches we had in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Even after 5 days of play, most of these matches ended up as draw. Two things need to be done for the survival of test cricket - 1. make sure that an outcome is reached by the 5th day 2. reduce the number of matches per year.

What a comeback and What a win by the English side!

299 run chase was not that easy, thanks to pinch-hitting by Jonny Bairstow helping them to chase those runs. Seven six and fourteen fours lead him to reach a score of 136 in just 92 balls. He had a strike rate of 147.83 and at one point I felt he will reach his double century. After him it was Ben Stokes as a captain he took the responsibility and scored 75 runs. If you add both their runs it comes out to be 211 runs. In my opinion they both contributed to the winning of the English side.

This may be a few hours late but who else got worried about Binance yesterday?

Lat year in the months of November they had completely halted all withdrawals due to large backlog. This is not new with Binance. You can check this tweet - https://twitter.com/binance/status/1455137004333711364?t=QAkifiD81UZea-XupI0WMg&s=19

2852  Local / India / What might be the reason for Bitcoin to go below 25k? on: June 13, 2022, 11:29:16 AM
I was suprised when I saw Bitcoin falling so fast from yesterday's price point till now. June 12th the price was holding around at 29k, i assumed it will go up or go down a little bit.

Some what similar to June 6th and then May 30th. It has been been hovering around the range of 28k to 30k for quiet some time now. Suddenly it went below 25k on a single day and that becomes a trigger for someone like me who saw Bitcoin usd value at around 3k to 4k between 2018 to 2019 in the month of April. In reality that was the golden time to grab 1 Bitcoin.

This situation isn't alarming for me but, i did some checks within the forum and found out that, this situation might have arised because of the LUNA issue or it might have been because of the global inflation situation.

What do you guys think can be the issue? Let's have a discussion here!

2853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC market capitalisation going up, what this means for ALTS on: June 13, 2022, 11:18:31 AM
In general whenever their is a bear market BTC capatalization goes up. The reason behind it is that those who want to capatalize this situation buy alts with Bitcoin pair. I am not sure why but people tend to hold Bitcoin more than Altcoins and when the market goes down they use the Bitcoin pair as the value of Altcoins is less than transacting with a stablecoin.

2855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A season for stop loss on: June 13, 2022, 07:11:10 AM
In my opinion it is better to stay away from the market for now. Let is calm a little bit and then we can start using the stop loss. At the moment I feel their is a panic situation out there and the market will hit a new low this year and then might bounce back.

Those who still want to trade they do need to use the stop loss feature otherwise this market condition will eat up their assets.

I remember the crash to $3k in late 2019. Half a year later and it was over $12k.

The crash happened in December 2018 and it went on till April 2019. In that period Bitcoin was trading between the range of 3k to 4k. I am not expecting such a crash but Bitcoin can hit 20k.

Yes, you're right. I'm short of sleep and making mistakes. There's nothing like a huge crash to keep you up all night.
Absolutely! It is still above what it was back in those days and I feel it will never go back to that situation. I remember those dates because I joined this forum at that time.
2857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 13, 2022, 04:44:13 AM
It's the end of day 3 and Joe Root has scored 163 runs and only played 200 balls. I think it's a pretty good strike rate even for one-day internationals.

People will obviously try to think otherwise but I think this match is going to end in a draw. I don't think England is going to declare without having a lead and that is obviously going to kill this test match for a draw. And England also has five wickets in hand. They are also trailing by 80 runs. So, I am not going to be surprised if they actually end up playing till the last session and declare just before the ending of day 4.

At this rate, if England bat for another 60 overs, then they will score another 250-300 runs to the total. That will take their total to the vicinity of 700 plus runs. First of all, they don't have enough wickets in hand (Ben Foakes is batting as of now, with Matthew Potts and Jack Leach to follow). And even if they don't lose any wickets, I am sure that Ben Stokes will announce the declaration much before the tea break. The run rate is above 4 runs per over, and I won't be surprised if they step up the scoring rate even further for the 4th day.
England now trail by just 80 runs, they have lost 5 wickets but Root and Foakes are still going strong especially Root he is on 163 and most probably he will reach his double century. Good comeback by the English side. This match is now heading towards a draw.

2859  Local / India / Re: RBI deputy governor states CBDC will wipeout cryptocurrency on: June 12, 2022, 01:23:01 PM
I don't know which world is he living in? People prefer bitcoin primarily because of two reasons, one is that it gives you that edge with anonymity and you are difficult to be in radar of governments around the world if you use Cryptos while the second set of people use it for capital gains they think it's value will always keep on rising, CBDC doesn't offer you any benefit out of these two then why would anyone think that CBDC can wipe out Cryptocurrencies? Comparing bitcoin with UPI is sheer stupidity.

They are still living in the stone age in my opinion. They could have made India the most happening place for blockchain and cryptocurrency but they choose not to do so. In these critical times when you are surrounded by failing countries, they could have taken a step further in boosting the economy by accepting cryptocurrency as a part of the new-age tech revolution and implementing proper regulations as well as taxation systems. Such an attitude was accepted by the banks and their governing body.
To be honest I don't blame India for being laggard to support Cryptocurrencies, no big country in the world really did this so you have to maintain that stance on international level as well to save your place in global economics. But yes it's equally true that no big country has taken such harsh steps to curb Bitcoins or Cryptocurrencies usage except China, so what government is doing is obviously stupidity. I am not expecting them to accept crypto as a currency obviously, but I am also not expecting them to curb it's usage as an asset as well.

To be honest I sometimes feel that the government of India is following the Chinese government. China banned cryptocurrency, and India put in place a stringent law that will eventually destroy the crypto business in India. China started working on CBDC and India started doing the same. Following a country won't solve India's problem.
Haha this is really true. A lot of times our government has shown exactly the same steps what the Chinese have been doing. Even though the way they take for doing this is entirely different but the result they want to reach with their steps is exactly the same as what Chinese want to do. China openly banned all the Cryptocurrencies while India didn't do it openly yet did all the things possible to ban Cryptocurrencies or remove them from system.
Actually what @pakhitheboss said is kind of true. India has a somewhat reactive & follow policy against China. If you check in the past after 2014 every step that China takes, we as a country are following china economically. There is a saying "If you cannot defeat them, then join them". India does the same economically. We are trying to replicate what china has already achieved. Wherein we should try to grow economically by our own thinking.
Economically, i would agree with you but not jeopardizing the integrity of the country. The more our Indian administration follows them the more they will jeopardize the development of our country. I am not against the government in every domain. I do understand that there are other major issues but why crush the middle class to get the money for development. Why not work on options and solution that make a poor grow economically into a middle class? Locking this topic as it deviates from the original topic.
2860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT's are a bigger scam than LUNA/UST on: June 12, 2022, 12:20:08 PM
The actual content of the NFT, such as a piece of art, is rarely stored on the blockchain. The reason why the content (such as a JPG, MP3, or Gif) of the smart contract associated with the actual NFT is stored on the web and not the blockchain is because of the size and cost. So you don't really own a piece of art. You own a piece of metadata describing some art that is stored on a centralized server. Those servers will, inevitably, eventually go down, be hacked or bought out so the owners of an NFT will, in the long run, own nothing but some metadata pointing to a defunct site.

I am not sure from where you came up with this conclusion that NFT are not stored on the Blockchain but on the server. As per my understanding on Ethereum they are in the form of Erc-721 format and every single of them is uniques. If you have any proof that they are not on the Blockchain then please share some proof here.

I do agree that they are over hyped and I also believe that just like dotcom bubble burst this hype will also burst in the coming days. I beleive that NFT's has become a way to convert black fiat to white fiat and this process of conversion won't stay much longer.
