Does anybody else has the periodical issue with server1?
I`m getting "disconnected from server/miner is idle" at least one time in a few hours...

I use CGminer that goes server2, server1, MMC then bitcoins LC, just in case Smiley Cant say ive noticed anything with server 2 though Wink

MMC (mining.mainframe.nl) is no longer. You might want to update your config.
2843  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: October 21, 2011, 12:43:33 AM
lodcrappo - I am sorry to hear that you will no longer work on the project. You have done the community a great service and I hope that you stick around. While profits are being squeezed right now, the only way bitcoin can truly die is if supporters like yourself walk away.

I truly hope that you find success in whatever you do.

Thanks again.
2844  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: October 21, 2011, 12:34:24 AM
lodcrappo -I was wondering if there was any news on the new bamt proxy or if you have incorporated phoenix 1.6.4.

Also, has anyone else had file corruption happen when the do a cold reboot of a machine? I am not sure if I just have bad luck or if this is something to be expected. The USB key is fine, but needs a fresh bamt install before it works again. Any pointers in the area would be greatly appreciated.

I won't be working on BAMT in the foreseeable future due to 1 - bitcoin prices mean I don't mine any more myself, and 2 - lack of donations mean working on BAMT is a waste of my time.

Anyone is welcome to take the code and do what you will with it.

Can you please upload all the most recent code? I would be happy to work on them to help the community.

Thanks

everything is contained in the bamt image.  there is no "source" as all of bamt is perl and shell scripts.

What about the /opt/bamt/fixer? Will you continue to host these fixes?

Any news on 1.6.4 being a viable product? Does anyone have anything to report. This 10 BTC is burning a hole in my pocket. Smiley

I need a new motherboard that can take 4x 5850.  Trying to get MSI Motherboard 890FXA-GD70 but it is no longer available.  Anyway knows of some other mother board?  My casing is a tower, so those E-ATC motherboard, I won't be able to fit in.

2848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am very confused. on: October 18, 2011, 12:21:39 AM
I found out about this currency two weeks ago. I acted on it because it will meet the needs of an idea of mine and now I am coming to realize it challenges the powers that be. I never expected much out of its current form since it is so young.

What is confusing is that people are declaring it dead because it can't maintain a constant price after an increase over 1000 times? I really don't understand this. Somebody please tell me how Bitcoin is suffering right now? From what I am seeing it has had great progress. I don't see anything to complain about.

Most get caught up in the noise instead of looking at the big picture.

server1 and server2 seem to be pooping themselves a smidgen right now.

Pooping themselves is a bit understated. I would say shit the bed would be more like it.
2850  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo mining pool with stats / graphs / reliability on: October 16, 2011, 03:20:15 PM
I would be interested. However, I would rather pay when blocks are found.

Or pay a reduced monthly fee, then when a block is found/solved pay an additional fee.

This way for those that dont have significantly less hashing power are able to keep the expense down, considering the probability of finding a block

What kind of fees to you think is fair for a service like this?

Does any website track the hashing power of p2pool?

Every node has that data in H/s: http://forre.st:9332/rate , for example.

So this -> 9657287493 would mean that the network is running at 9.65Gh/s?

i am using google chrome, why do i need to always login to see account detail, something is wrong? for the web panel

also, can u add timezone, like GMT + something

last but not least, any iphone app to keep track of the mining details, like what i did for deepbit previously, there is quite a lot of app on iphone that support it

thanks

You can use the app iBitcoin which will show you your arsbitcoin.com mining details. The security on the site makes you re-login anytime you switch browsers and is for your protection.

do you guys offer mining on port 80?

gotta work around the firewall here at the office   Grin

No, we don't support this at the moment.  I haven't looked into setting it up yet.

Any news about it?

You can mine on port 80 with server2.arsbitcoin.com
2855  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: newegg has new 6870s for sale at $185 after rebates. on: October 10, 2011, 06:44:18 PM

My 2 bitcents...  6870's suck!

use the same doe to pick up a used 5870

6870s get about the same Mh/s as 5830s with a little less power usage. At $130, your Mh/$$$ ratio is pretty darn low.
2856  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Falsified &/or Error]Est. Next Difficulty 2211492.3115 on: October 10, 2011, 06:09:52 PM
this is what i watch to see estimated difficulty. It's been slowly dropping for a while.

http://blockexplorer.com/q/estimate

Couple other good sources

http://bitcoin.sipa.be/ to see the rate of change in network activity (which is currently going down)

http://bitcoinx.com/charts/ which has been pretty accurate with showing the next difficulty.

2857  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: newegg has new 6870s for sale at $185 after rebates. on: October 10, 2011, 01:51:23 PM

Not quite sure why you need to extra memory, this 6870 should work just as good -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150561

And it's $165 after the rebate. Imho, they probably start clearing these things out soon, and it'll be the time to buy when they get around the $130 range.

Just my two bit cents.

I have enough so I thought I would share   Grin
2859  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Server Statistics Dashboard on: October 08, 2011, 10:56:46 AM
You might want to look at BAMT -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28967.0

It has some nice hooks into reading GPU data like fan speed, gpu temp, memory speed and displaying it through munin and over http. It also has code to wrap the phoenix processes and report out total shares submitted, stales, total hash rate for a rig and with another tool mgpumon, you can have a dashboard of all your rigs within a network subnet. Aaron has done a lot of work on the project so he might be a good person to talk to.

I'm not sure what's going on with the new 1.6.3 version but I've just upgraded and as soon as you start mining it throws out this, never to reconnect, making it unusable Undecided
Code:
[07/10/2011 17:39:39] Phoenix v1.6.3 starting...
[07/10/2011 17:39:40] Connected to server

[07/10/2011 17:40:05] Warning: work queue empty, miner is idle

I have download the 1.6.3 build and run it on windows 7 and have encountered the same error...   Huh
