2841  Other / Off-topic / Re: Life lessons from Bill gates and how it could make you a successful entrepreneur on: October 04, 2022, 02:50:36 PM
Bill gates is one of the people i have respect on when it comes to business and professional capacity building, having a good mentor or role model has a way of contributing to one's success in life, they have been through alot of experience in the professional fields and have encountered series of economical seasons, their advise is worth building on to have a good start, reading their books, and following them on media handles is never a waste of time, but rather a choice to follow a smooth path with them.
2842  Economy / Exchanges / Re: User Experience - Local P2P VS Exchange in-app P2P service. on: October 04, 2022, 02:41:34 PM
This is not a matter of which one is the best but a thing of preference and choice, why should a user engage with the use of local p2p as you called it with friends when the ones on the decentralized and centralized exchanges where your coins are were there waiting for you, i can only admit this if the limited amount wanted to sell is too small to the limited amount an exchange could perform for p2p, but as for me i will rather avoid having direct dealings with buyers in persons i know or i don't even know at all because they can come up with any funny show for show regarding that, also are they trusted escrow service providers? because this is something that has to do with trust, if you think your privacy and trust are reliable with them it's ok.
2843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, tourism and legal gambling age for gamblers around the world. on: October 03, 2022, 04:05:53 PM
Anything below 18 years old age i personally regards as underaged while in gambling i also count 21 years old and below as underaged, this are age limits where by a child shouldn't be exposed to certain things like gambling than facing their studies and make useful opportunity out from their youthful age in learning good things, a child can play games at home, in school but not to start gambling at early stage of his life.
2844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Delay in transaction on: October 03, 2022, 03:59:29 PM
I have been trying for 30mins now to transfer bitcoin from my wallet to someone wallet but the transaction is wasting time,is it that the miner too low i.e not set to priority that is delaying it or the block chain network.

Many factors could havebled to to delay been experienced, the mempool might be full and busy, what priority did you set for your transactions fee, the wallet type being used to perform the transaction, there are times this can happen and tou could adjust your fee base on the type of wallet being use and also you need to be reassured that you have not fall a victim of double spending through the process after several attempts of resending the unconfirmed transaction.
2845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: October 03, 2022, 03:48:39 PM
Its true that Bitcoin is not the total cure for El Salvador's economic challenges

Indeed bitcoin my not be the total cure but as for now that is the only vibrant alternative to curing it, bitcoin have serve the best available option from a number of economics remedy for recommendations and it is also evident in the entire progress in El-Savador till present day, traditional system of currency with fiat couldn't ordinarily save up to clear debt, hut bitcoin comes with the luck and solution to that.

But at least it has some opportunities that would touch the lives of El Salvadorans positively

there's no doubt about it how bitcoin has been impactful to the business economics of El-Savador and the adoption has increase the openness for business activities with the acceptability of bitcoin as an alternative to USD.

I have heard so many time people saying that the country has benefitted nothing from its Bitcoin adoption

yes people have been saying the wrongs repeatedly over time base on research that has no verdict or fact.

But this is untrue because Bitcoin as a national legal tender is at its infant stage

and the growing in adoption continues, if bitcoin could achieve this while still at infant stage, what will happen when it matures to an average adults, of course everyone will be left with no other better option for currency and asset than bitcoin.

Yes El Salvador can be one of the richest countries in the world not because of Bitcoin but from the improvement of other sectors of the economy

same goes with El-Savador, if it could have achieved this far just after a one year adoption than it has suffered over many years, bitcoin could be actually the future game changer in the economy of El-Savador.
2846  Other / Politics & Society / Re: THE BACKDROP BEHIND NIGERIA'S POLITICAL SYSTEM OF ADMINISTRATION. on: October 02, 2022, 06:14:13 PM

Nigeria requires a governance structure that will improve voter education and leadership competency, as opposed to the current system, which relies on empty promises, bribery, voter intimidation, and violence to secure votes.

This is a challenge common to almost every countries, we all know political people to be full is promises whenever they are yet to assume offices, but immediately after their goal is achieved, they became uncontrollable, one of the means we can establish a trusted fare and fareness of evey political candidate is to set up a standard electronic automated voting system that cannot be manipulated by anyone's influence, a technology system that will operate immutable like the blockchain technology.
2847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you change your mind on gambling ? on: October 02, 2022, 06:07:27 PM
-   We know that something that we are used to is still prohibited, but we will do and we will still find a way to accomplish what our body and passion are used to.

They say it's good to do what is forbidden hehe. So there is no country where even if it is prohibited, there is no illegal happening, but all countries have illegal happenings, the fact is that at some point it will never be solved because the individual is the one who makes the way to do it.

So you actually admitted the fact that to do illegal things is easier achieved than the good and useful deeds, gambling actually can be forbidden if outlawed and gone extreme in causing dangers and manners of abuses, this are the things we all contributes right from our end in gambling.

The saying "another person's food is another person's poison" just came to mind because of what you said. No matter how many restrictions and bans are placed on anything, people will always find a way to do it in a way that makes them happy. I don't see any reason why the government would want to outlaw gambling while allowing people to consume alcohol freely, that doesnt make too much sense to some extent but the limitation is not bad at all, hence I think that is why we have the age as a yardstick in gambling in most countries.

Ban is not a barrier for gamblers to go to an extent in doing things both in the legal and illegal ways, they never mind regretting some steps after taking the actions, but government uas it power to exercise authority in implementing policies to gambling ethics, many have face the law because of violation of the rules surrounding it.

Government is always powerful that no one can defeat,  if government bans citizens from playing gambling,  citizens can't stop government.  The best thing to do is to stay alway from physical gambling and stay stick to online gambling which no one will know if one is gambling.

We have a lot of online gambling, and thanks to cryptocurrencies that allow transactions without credit cards and banks, you can play and remain anonymous unless the casino is aware of the restriction put in place in your country and may want to flag your IP address, but even then, we have Tor and VPN that you can use to play casinos that don't require KYC. You can see that the government can be bypassed though it may be tagged as an illegal activity.

Past are the days when casinos only exist in physical locations across every region, but thanks to development of technology that has served us well with online ones, with this no amount of government restriction could deter gamblers from enjoying the sweetness in this opportunity because we have no KYC casinos that can maintain your privacy with them.
2848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy should be fought for on: October 02, 2022, 04:10:45 PM
The fact this isn't talked about much even more so after Canada froze bank accounts watching people tx bitcoin and ETH addresses tied to other ETH addresses are being black listed / banned is really bad..

Countless of times we've been hearing onnthe embargoes levied on accounts by centralized bodies, in other to avoid unexpected and unnecessary ban, we must learn how to exercise this freedom through the means we use in securing our asset which is to be decentralized indeed without the use of centralized exchanges that could later tampers our confidentials for the government use against us.

BTC will fail or much much much worse become the money of enslavement if privacy is not added.. Unbreakable privacy..

This is a service through which is available already and you can enjoy it abundance by operating a full node on the blockchain or make ilise of hardware wallet or any other could storage means to secure your assets if full node technicals could be a challenge.
2849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman Abandons 4-year-old Child In Gambling Shop As Collateral After Huge Losses on: October 01, 2022, 11:14:27 AM
People who are addicted to gambling have done crazy things as a result of their addiction. Nonetheless, I never imagined reading a story as unbelievable as this. It is the story of a woman who abandons her 4-year-old child after using him as collateral and sustaining huge losses. Firstly, I am shocked because it is the male gender who have been known to go to any lengths to satisfy their gambling addiction.  In addition, I wonder what would have moved the woman in this case to do this kind of thing. My assessment is that this is simply a case of irresponsible parenting and problem gambling. How do you think about this?

Quote
A woman has reportedly abandoned her 4-year-old son in a lottery shop in Enugu after incurring huge losses in gambling. The incident Sahara Reporters gathered happened at Moore House Street, Ogui in the state capital on Thursday. Residents of the area said the woman left her son in the Lotto shop after she incurred a huge loss she couldn’t offset. The little boy was later taken to Ogui police station when the wait for his mother was becoming endless. A police officer who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Friday narrated how a little child was brought to the station by some persons who claimed his mother used him as collateral to play lotto.

Despite this is an act uncalled for and is totally forbidden to be expected from a serious and right sence thinking wife and a mother, a woman should not go too low and bazzark by forgetting the day of her labour in giving birth to the child while through her selfish desires for gambling to now abandoned her own child because of losses in gambling, infact she should be arraigned to face the court of law, am very sure she's the type that has been under divorce from her husband else the husband will give her the very best beating of her life that night.
2850  Economy / Economics / Re: Against the British pound, Bitcoin trade volume shoots up!! on: October 01, 2022, 10:52:45 AM
The good news in all this is that our dear bitcoin is getting the recognition it deserves, more people are getting to know what bitcoin is, they are finally knowing there is indeed, a reliable alternative to the already collapsing fiat system of money, and I hope that some day in the future, bitcoin will become a major player in our money system.

Bitcoin can't be compared with the rise in USD against GBP because they remains fiat and can loose more value anything sooner no matter how the increase it has realized, bitcoin remains the most approved and recommended digital currency that cannot have the influx of inflation to deter it value with the economy regardless of location, bitcoin will remain increasing over time in value no matter how volatile it may seems and how dip it's been, rising is a certainty attributed to bitcoin even whenever it falls.
2851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More reasons why it will always be Bitcoin for me on: October 01, 2022, 10:11:58 AM
Starching money in the bank as savings don't just only reduce  initial deposit amount through consistent unreasonable different charges but also also posed on the individual the possibility of not having access to your money when needed and even in the very amount needed to withdraw because of regulatory and centralized power placed in the hands of one man called the government. And all of these regulations only work in favour of the regulator at the centre.

Ever since the discovery of bitcoin serving an alternative to using banks, i see no reason why it should still remain a priority anymore since the downfalls is more than the benefits it places on users, there's nothing than vexation of the spirit with using banks because of their entangled protocols that are just an advanced abuse on user's confidential privacy, funds and access to it through their instituted policies, thanks to Satoshi Nakamoto for bringing light of liberty into handling of finances in the economy a d government have nothing to do about decentralization network by any form of hindrance against it, p2p is the means we all enjoyed to freely exercise the freedom
2852  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will Investing Help the Economy of a Country on: September 30, 2022, 11:36:11 AM
The goal of the state to open the door to investment certainly hopes to make prosperity for citizens, unfortunately not all investments can help the economy of the poor because most poor people do not have education so they cannot participate with investors.
In reality it is like that and we can't just close our eyes,
and it actually makes us realize how important an education is because if we don't have it we won't know anything,
even so but the good news is that nowadays more and more people are literate with investment

There's no how a country can't afford to embark onnan investment because that's the only thing it has to fall back on after having challenges in financial economy, but what we should be more partinent about is the type of investment made upon, eome investment are without doubt a waste of time because they eventually turns liability in future, but before a country can start to venture into such investment, there must be adequate preparation out in place that will also contribute to the growth of its economy through the investment plans, the multi diverted asset of investment that is trending allover is the bitcoin network and a good fortune can spring forth from its adoption for an investment.
2853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's faceless identity is the greatest Bitcoin success strategy on: September 30, 2022, 11:27:06 AM
even though Satoshi Nakamoto has always told him his identity, I think bitcoin will still be victorious and be number one as it is now because bitcoin is the first digital money in the world, don't think if satoshi shows up and reveals his identity will make bitcoin unstable or down it's a big mistake in my opinion, even if Satoshi appears it will be phenomenal and attracts all especially for bitcoin progress.

To even make it more simple, if Satoshi should show up his identity that does not change any fact about bitcoin here, if we the users on the bitcoin forum understand the need for privacy and have it secured and the forum itself been built under serving you with privacy without requiring for any verification or kyc during the point of registration, I see no reason why Satoshi should reveal his privacyz for what? that we should all believe what we already have no doubt about or to help bitcoin global adoption, i still can't figure a genuine reason why his privacy should be revealed and don't think it will be ever done at later future.
2854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be Palestine's currency of freedom?? on: September 30, 2022, 11:13:29 AM
Can Bitcoin be allowed to grant the financial freedom for Palestine that which El Salvador and Central African Republic are experiencing?

If a country like El-Savador can be fine and alright doings with bitcoin adoption and Central African Republic not regretting it decision for adoption then the Palestinians should have it assurance that they will definitely have their own good encounters with bitcoin as well, there's no way we can fully control people from having biased mindset towards it but the result will make the difference afterwards, the government also have to take some crucial steps and stop listening to the market noise and face business on its dealings with bitcoin, if they can plan, put resources together and work towards the desires of the people for privacy and decentralization in currency then they can make a very good awesomeness away from bitcoin adoption.
2855  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christian and politics on: September 29, 2022, 03:02:25 PM
Is it a good idea for Christians to get involved in politics, because if they are involved in it, they tend to lie, make promises they can't fulfill and sometimes get their hands dirty which is sin.

And ministers of the Gospel, are they suppose to endorse any candidate to their congregants. What's your take?
God created man to be ruled by the laws of spirit rather than his fellow man. However, because of sin, we are subject to human rules that are full of lies, nepotism, tribalism, and other societal vices that we see today. Politics is about lies, deception, and corruption, and a Christian who has been redeemed from sin and Satan should not participate in it. There is nothing good in it, and true Christians filled with the Holy Spirit have no desire for it.

First thing first, politics is different from Christianity lifestyle, a Christian can participate in politics and there's nothing bad in it, but does every politician fear God? No, thisbis common and notbonky in politics but every life strata, it is wrong for a man of God to endorse a political candidate for a position, he can bless him privately but very wrong to make a public proclamation of a candidate, we need to bebvery careful on how we relate political things with the dealings of the Lord, give caesar what belongs to it, give God what is due to Him.
2856  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: September 29, 2022, 02:47:25 PM
The only method to savings i can advise during inflation is to invest on digital currency like bitcoin and have your investment work for you over time than buying liability items, businesses failed and prices got hiked during inflation and thereby the price of commodity increses and the value of money decreases within that specific period, but one of the best solution is to go with an economy that is free from inflation whereby the value of your asset has such tendencies to increase over time instead of decreasing with fiat currency over time.
2857  Economy / Economics / Re: Can commodities return to its price last year? on: September 29, 2022, 02:41:22 PM
Inflation rapidly increased this year. Basic food stuffs like egg, oil for cooking, meat, and fish here in our country almost doubled compared to its price last year. I'm wondering if it's possible that the price of commodities will return to its previous years. If so, how or what will cause it to happen

It's not going to happen anytime soon, once a orice rises it is very difficult to biunce back to initial point, though it may slightly drop but not as exactly as before, note this, that whenever a country is notable with the running of such economy system, it may be hard for it to remain stable rather keep getting worst unless the government itself work it out by controlling the production outputs of the country GDP, man labour, employment, poverty reduction and other alleviation services from within which could help lessen the full dependencies on important materials from other countries thereby boosting their own economy from within through production.
2858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 28, 2022, 02:00:59 PM
Even when i win at gambling i know how to stop myself. I would never gamble any money i need. Maybe i can't make a lot of money because i don't take risks. But i know myself. If i gamble with the money i need and win, i will continue to gamble. I know very well that if you don't set your stopping point you will hand over your earnings to the table. I'm constantly thinking about possibilities. For this reason, i did not make much money in gambling but i did not lose money that i would regret. The reason for this was the player cards gambling that i played with my friend at a young age. You know player cards were famous in childhood. I gambled with my friend to collect more cards and i lost all the cards i had. I had no financial loss but it was a great lesson for me.

Just as we have worst fays in gambling same we still have the better days there also, most of us like to only talk about the bad experience but go on mute whenever the luck works on our side on the better days, this is common I think in most settings ad well, i believe every gambler has a story to tell with his experience in gambling both the good and the bad, but what remains constant with gambling is loosing and what a gambler often benefitted is the pleasure in gambling.
2859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what point do you sell your Bitcoin forever, OR wait to buy back later ??? on: September 28, 2022, 01:21:15 PM
Who here would have believed last year that Bitcoin would be near 18,700 today ??

Actually none but we all are minded of the volatility in bitcoin price so seing this happening should be a sudden surprise because this is not it's first time neither will it hebthe last and every active bitcoiner that knows what he's doing should understand the need for volatile price in bitcoin

Everyone knows darn well that anyone correctly predicting such a price drop in bitcoin would have been ridiculed here in this forum

The fact is that anyone can come up with his own research about the price movement base onnhis speculative abilities but the truth is that everyone can't be right in their predictions most of which are guess, that is why it is always important for individuals to engage on personal research as we often termed it "DYOR".

So stop the self delusion for a minute and consider that Bitcoin could still go FAR LOWER

It may go dip the more and it may not but either of the two means nothing to affect it's value and reputation from being a digital currency.

1.   At what point do you guys lose faith in the dream of Bitcoin going to the moon, cut your losses and sell ??

When i feel I've realised enough profit from my investment with bitcoin after some years of hodling,i may choose to sell but will still buy the deep the more.

2.   At what point do you sell your Bitcoin, Convert to cash, and wait to buy 20 times as many Bitcoin at a much lower price, say something like 1000 dollars ??

Whenever needs arises but those are not the investment addets am selling from but rather the little savings i hodl for mimor expenditures

3.   Would you never sell, no matter what is happening in the crypto world, and ride Bitcoin down to the bottom ??

Know this and be rest assured that bitcoin is not going down the bottom pit neither am i riding towards that direction with it but volatility remains constant and bitcoin remains a digital currency.
2860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Casino Licenses on: September 27, 2022, 05:02:57 PM
Is it possible and legal to open an online casino without a license?

Should in case you're a gambler and discover a casino without license and in operation then abstain from such because it's illegal and your safety with such isn't sure without ended being scammed, a seriously minded casino should obtain all necessary legal actions needed for it operations right beforr it launch.

I have heard that a license only allows to put users in confidence
What do you think about this?

Exactly, will you like to patronizes someone that does not have a legal backup for his services, such can even got you into trouble, it also enables you to trace and track them base on reputation,
