Lol. We're paying for those 2 last blocks now.
2843  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recent Antminer S5 prices on: March 22, 2015, 03:50:19 AM
I was talking Ebay on line.

Where do you guys see them for under $200!?!?

hell yeah under 200 is very good.

Where? I'd get some. Lol

I would buy s-5's at 300.

If you buy the bulk batch it comes to 177 per miner. I wonder how much shipping is...

Dunno about you, but I'm not planning to invest in 1600 Antminer S5's at this particular moment.  Cheesy
2844  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning about Ebay seller : mu5069evy on: March 22, 2015, 02:49:07 AM
Just file a Paypal dispute and mail it back when Paypal directs you too. You will be out the return shipping fee.

Even if the item was fully functional and you actually did break it, Paypal will side you with anyways.

Reasons like this are why I never sell anything on eBay.

Yeah I'll probably do that. Not a fan of returning anything. Just now I have to deal with packing up, shipping off, paying for the shipping and then wait for weeks to get the money refunded by ebay if I get it. Ugh.

2845  Economy / Scam Accusations / Warning about Ebay seller : mu5069evy on: March 22, 2015, 02:17:25 AM
Bought a few SP20's from him/she/it and one of them is defective.

Tried to ask seller about issues with Miner, explaining in exact detail how I tested the issue to make sure it wasn't anything on my end (Power supplies, power cable, voltages, etc..)

They said it was all my fault and I burned the unit out during my 'underclocking' testing trying to see why it was hanging up after a few hours.
I never ran the unit even at standard speeds. Tried a few higher voltages, but never even went as high as stock speeds. Always at 1200GH/s underclocked.

I do the same on my other 7 SP20's , know the system pretty well already and yet none of the others have
the same issue where it needs to be hard-booted once a day at least as it just loses internet or hangs up totally.
Temps are 3C in the room, 33-44C across all loops, running through EVGA 1300 G2's.

So anyways, he also sold a bunch of 'semi defective' SP20s in other ebay listings , so I'm guessing he sent me one and now is
playing the blame game.

Just word of caution if dealing with this particular seller : mu5069evy

2846  Bitcoin / Hardware / Discount coupons for Antminers? on: March 21, 2015, 10:26:56 PM
How does that work? Anyone got them?

2847  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 21, 2015, 08:45:53 PM
I need to swap out the power supply on my c1.  Right now I have a tx850m corsair on it.  I have a spare tx750m...can I use this power supply with the c1?

Only if you under clock it.  At standard freq with cooling gear no 750 is not enough watts.

Unless it's a seasonic or evga . At full speed mine use 800watts at the wall so any decent 750w will work. Problem is, most 750w supplies don't have 4 separate pci-e rails.

Even with seasonic or evga I don't think a 750 will power at normal speed with cooling gear also hooked up to it.

During my testing I had a c1 in a seasonic 750w at full blast with everything hooked up drawing 801watts at the wall. No issues. I wouldn't recommend it for 24/7 running, but I ran it for a few hours. No overheating or warming of cables.
Most high end seasonics or evga can run 10%+ wall max. So my 750 as example hits 850w without skipping a beat.

Once I hooked a new sp20 which hit full blast to an evga 850 without realizing it. The miner drew 1020watts for a few minutes before I realized it. No problem running it though.
I also ran it briefly on a corsair cx750 without an issue.

2852  Bitcoin / Hardware / Recent Antminer S5 prices on: March 21, 2015, 02:48:51 PM
Anyone notice the huge drop in their pricing over the past 3 days?

They went from averaging $600+ to around $450 now. I even saw some go for less than that.

Any clue as to why?

Anyone do overclocking / efficiency testing on the S5's?

Last 5 blocks = 144% luck  Cheesy
While everyone is happy with the block finding - I'm running some maintenance behind the scenes.
Just did a ckdb restart that's completed but syncing now (sync at the bottom is high and sync has completed when it gets to 0)
Will do a ckpool restart some time in the next hour also to upgrade for more code fixes.

U da man... Cheesy

Odd underclocking success here. Thought I'd post it :

200Mhz Freq, 071v, 840Gh/s average @ 600watts exactly. (GH jumps from 760 - 1120 though.)

Best ratio yet.
2857  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Splitting 2x PCI-e into 4? on: March 21, 2015, 02:34:59 AM
Yeah that's why I stopped. I want to keep each cable at below 200w even on the other miners unless I need to push it.
The only ones I trust to push enough is the evga 1300 G2's and the cables. Anyone know what gauge they are?
2858  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: March 21, 2015, 02:00:06 AM
What about the pay/earnings? Has it changed? I stopped using it as it seems quite less than other pools like eligius and kano. Heck even westhash earned me more for the same TH.
2859  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I Ordered 2x Antminer S5s and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt on: March 21, 2015, 01:11:04 AM
wow, thought of buying some, but with that service, never ever.

There aren't any better out there, maybe Spoondoolies, yet they are much more expensive per gh/s...

I will be playing with my First s5 soon, but must add that as an owner of C1's and S3's, the SP20 from spondoolies run circles around the Antminers.
Better and fast web interface, more robust hardware from what I see at least, more efficient (I can get 1150-1230GH/s at around 600W on almost all SP20's and if I want to turn up the speed to an easy 1600GH/s per miner.
2860  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Splitting 2x PCI-e into 4? on: March 21, 2015, 01:07:04 AM
I decided to stop messing with the chances of frying the PS or cables, so I stopped using more than one connection per pci-e cable. Better safe than sorry.

It did work at lower watts though. At 550 watts it started getting the stock corsair PCI-E cables warm to the touch, bu they were hitting 275W per cable.

Thanks for everybody's input though! This is how we learn (the noobies like me). The search function of SMF forums are totally useless (I know, I have the same forum software on my Firearms site) so that's why I keep asking stupid questions.  Cheesy

Glad you descided not to.  One of the lest fun things is to find a fried cable or smell something burning in a miner area.

Can I ask what your firearm site is? Smiley I also am a bitcoiner who enjoys firearms.

It's in my signature (I think), but it's www.ctguntalk.com, or www.ctgt.us. very Pro 2A, Firearms, Politics, News, etc.. Site.

Nowhere near the membership this site has, but still almost 1%.  Grin Cheesy
