2841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IMF urges El Salvador to remove Bitcoin as legal tender on: January 30, 2022, 08:59:24 PM
I believe IMF was against El Salvador adopting Bitcoin before and refused to help El Salvador with that. So nothing really surprising is happening here, and I don't think it'll change El Salvador government's policy because they knew the IMF was against it and adopted it anyway. I also think that IMF would be better off working on accepting Bitcoin into their system, treating it as another form of money they can work with. In the meantime, El Salvador has chosen its path, and it seems that they've been withdrawing from their reliance on loans from them for years and are currently not dependent on them. So IMF doesn't have much leverage here.

It can change their stand if IMF push to ban their country on their list since we know how useful the IMF in terms of financing since it has a huge plays a huge part if El Salvador want to lend some money to use on developing their country. This is totally bad if this happen so hoping that they will not turn things down and their government decide to revoke their adoption on bitcoin.
In a statement following a meeting Tuesday, the IMF cited "large risks associated with the use of Bitcoin on financial stability, financial integrity, and consumer protection, as well as the associated fiscal contingent liabilities." https://www.dw.com/en/imf-urges-el-salvador-to-drop-bitcoin-as-legal-tender/a-60559687

This is just an advice for El Salvador from IMF to drop bitcoin as a legal tender because it's really disappointing to see that the country right now is facing a huge debt because they decided to buy bitcoin when it was in its high peak. Although it is said that El Salvador is also buying more bitcoin in its dip, but the fact is that El Salvador is still not making a huge progress that they can't rely for loans from IMF in the future.
2842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 30, 2022, 01:43:59 PM

I have to agree, the Nets will be unstoppable in the East If they healthy. But in the Western conference, there's a lot of competition on that conference.

Well, competition in the West is tough but the best teams so far are the Warriors and the Suns. I'm counting out the Lakers already due to their struggles, and other teams like the Memphis and Jazz, I think they are not good enough to beat either of the top 2 teams. However, I could be wrong, this is just my personal prediction only.
2843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: January 30, 2022, 01:27:25 PM

It's a battle that he should take, instead of playing safe and fighting the challengers without a belt, he chooses Spence who is better than him in the eyes of the many. It's about time for him to prove that he deserved to be in the top 3 of the welterweight division and that starts by beating Spence in this fight.

Either Yordenis Ugas or Errol Spence should take this fight seriously even let's say at the moment Ugas is the underdog Spence should not also be at ease that he has a lot of advantage against Ugas. At this fight, both fighters almost have the same reason why they must prove themselves here in this fight and that is to be known as one of the best fighter in welterweight division. I believe this fight will be a challenging to both fighters and I could not wait to see them inside the ring and can't wait who will be the winner.

This is a big fight for both as the winner could earn another belt, os it's going to be challenging for both although we have Spence as the heavy favorite to win the fight. I hope that Ugas will be more motivated to win the fight, so even if he will fail, at least he could give his very best to beat Spence.
2844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 30, 2022, 12:57:22 PM
Moving on to the upcoming games, we have some interesting games and the best game for me  is the Warriors vs Nets.

Durant is supposed to meet his old team but he was out, so it's gonna be Irving and Harden who will play the Warriors.
Though both stars are listed as probable now, but I hope they'll be playing so this game would be more interesting to watch.

My bet is GSW -6. GL!

Did not expect the game would be close,  Warriors won but only by 4 points, therefore it did not cover the spread.

Anyway, going forward for the upcoming games. As usual, I got one to pick.

My pick is Bulls -6.5 against the TrailBlazers, came from a loss, I think they'll bounce back in this game.
2845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: State Senator Introduces Bill to Make Bitcoin Legal Tender in Arizona on: January 30, 2022, 09:01:05 AM
How i wish this can take place , I mean imagine a state in America will finally make Bitcoin as legal tender?

But of course this will remain a dream for now , though still a great concept from this great senator.

Salute for the Man ..
This will remain a dream for now since it's really impossible to adopt bitcoin as a legal tender since we all know that the US constitution will never allow a cryptocurrency to be an official currency. I just think that maybe the state senator has been too rush about bitcoin being a legal tender. He could have been propose advocacies first that will inspire the people to use bitcoin since the citizens have limited knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
2846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: There is fear in the market, isn't it time to buy? on: January 30, 2022, 08:32:42 AM
In such a situation when the market is not stable and fear is also high one should do only partial buying with every dip so that the average buying cost remains less even if it drops more. One should avoid buying all at one time. The strategy should according to the market condition as we all know make a profit in the bull market is easy on the contrary it's hard to make profit in a bad market. Yes, we can expect a rebound anytime as BTC dropped almost 50% from its ATH. Selling in panic is not a good decision.
Bitcoin is currently making a price surge which means those who bought below $38k are already in profits right now. So definitely, buying in every dip is more recommended since the market value can move upward all of a sudden, and while those waiting in its bottom price will no longer be profitable.

I think fear does not happen only when we see the market dumping, because even if the market is bullish we still have fears inside knowing that crypto prices keeps fluctuating because of its volatility. As long as the market remains unpredictable, fear will always be unstoppable.
2847  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN - ROAD TO 8,000$ - speculation on: January 29, 2022, 11:40:42 PM
My target figure for Bitcoin towards the end of February 2022 is $45000. When BTC reaches this base value, there will be serious increases in other cryptos.
Slowly but surely your prediction will come true. These days bitcoin is going around 38k and it seems like we will be retesting 40k as soon as possible and once this broken and 45k will be very close into our eyes again. I hope that bitcoin will be retesting 40k very soon. We are so close with it. This can trigger whole of crypto market once bitcoin will worth 40k.
I have been accumulating so many tokens for this and i hope your prediction come true.
The market right now is showing some signs of recovery, hopefully this will break the $40k resistance level that may put an end to this downward trend. But there is still no guarantee that the increase will happen consistently, because as we have seen that bitcoin price just keeps ranging around $35k and $37k lately.

However, this road to $8k may be too low already for price possibility. Bitcoin has gained a lot of back ups already so its very unlikely now that the price will still drop that low. Bitcoin will always fluctuate and drop its price but $35k to $36k i guess that will be its bottom price.

2849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: little knowledge about gambling - before I knowing bitcointalk.org forum on: January 29, 2022, 08:46:53 PM
All of that can be done if you are knowledgeable on the risk and reward and you have the discipline.

Setting limits is always necessary as when you are gambling you are taking risks although you are having fun.
We should always remember that so we will stay realistic knowing that a chance of losing is also possible aside from winning.

A responsible gambler would enjoy what he is doing even if he is not a winner, besides, most of us are looking to entertain in gambling, and if we should easily accept even if we lose.
2850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investment against inflation on: January 29, 2022, 03:52:19 PM
If all the people around will be aware of his own story, this will pave way to widen the acceptance and adoption of crypto that will be the best solution to fight with the endless rising inflation.

Yes, that is true. And I hope that while it is being accepted and adopted, it is also being studied as well. Because investing alone won’t be enough to make it grow and become successful. An investor must also know how to play and make moves in the market, when and ho much should be risked or kept in particular circumstances.
I think before you decide to invest in crypto or in all types of investment, you must have good knowledge about it so you can make it grow. It would be useless if you only invest without setting a goal to be achieve.

However, investing in crypto, or bitcoin, will definitely hedge against inflation. Hopefully, this great story will open our eyes that bitcoin is the perfect investment right now so we can regain the growth of our economic condition and that we will not always struggle from the negative effects that this pandemic has brought to us.

Many people experience stress when inflation occurs in a country. especially for those who cannot control their finances when they are rich and only realize when their difficulties occur. investing in bitcoin is one of the supporting factors in helping fight inflation and a very powerful way for now.
Most likely, poor people are definitely most affected by this high inflation knowing the prices are rising so they can only buy those who can fit to their budget, thus lessening their purchasing power. But if we can take the side of bitcoin, that is the only investment that will beat inflation so definitely it will increase our savings because it will discourage us from spending, and it increases our purchasing power because of low prices.
2851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: we can still rely on the bounty.. on: January 29, 2022, 01:27:04 PM
The current bounty is still good and deserves to be followed, although it can't be like 2016-2018. Of course, we have to have a large rank of members and followers on social media in order to earn higher income, but if we are newbies and there are still few social media, then it's okay to join the bounty while learning about cryptocurrencies.
As long as you are satisfied with what you are making, then it's always good for you. however, in general, bounty is not profitable as some still compare what they earn today to what they earn in the past, and of course they'll be discourage as bounty in the past is like we are making a fortune with our effort.

2853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will 2022 be the year of ETH 2.0? on: January 29, 2022, 08:13:39 AM
I understand you because this has been an unresolved issue for quite long already. But maybe you can check this because this might clear when will be the release of ETH 2.0 and i can see this is not happening soon. Here's the link..https://www.gamerevolution.com/guides/700294-ethereum-2-0-release-date-eth2-upgrade-phase-1-2-when-2022

If this will not be fix by the said year, i think i should just live to it that ethereum gas fee will never be reduced.
About that, it's the name that will be changed and won't be called ETH 2.0. That's the news that I've heard as a summary but I haven't gone through with most of its details. I think that this problem of high fees will be resolved soon *closed fingers*.
The devs have their say but just like anybody else, we want this to happen as soon as possible so we can enjoy again the cheap fees per transaction for ethereum and as well as erc20 tokens.
We all heard about this problem about high gas fees but until now, there is no solution yet. So its either we'll get used to to this and accept the fact that ethereum high fees will be forever. However, Vitalik proposed a new solution to tackle about this ethereum's high gas fees, i just hope this time it will fully resolved. Check it here: https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/vitalik-buterin-proposes-breakthrough-solution-to-tackle-high-gas-fees-on-ethereum-network-202201060924

2854  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be wiser than the market on: January 28, 2022, 08:46:10 PM
First, learn with your past mistakes.

If you've been trading for a few months or longer, you already have enough experience and knowledge that you can use to take advantage of those mistakes you did in the past.

Avoid being greedy and you should always target what's achievable. What's wrong with the new traders today, they're idealists but they're not realistic.
I think the best way so we can avoid being greedy is to have satisfaction in the profits we have. Set aside the get rich quick mentality. We can be rich in time by trading but we can do it more slowly, and not to keep chasing the market. Overtrading will only make you a loser in the end because you end up gambling even your hard earned money.
2855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: January 28, 2022, 02:44:09 PM
Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!

Its not dumb but a privilege. Being financially stable or in control enough to not have to spend all the bitcoins you are saving, you are very lucky and I am pretty that if you ask anybody here, no one will ever sell their bitcoin unless necessary or in a tight emergency. Had I been in such a situation, I would only accumulate and would not care about trading, even more so after seeing the increase in value as time passes. Anyway, congratulations on holding up to this day. Having enough money is also considered as a personal trait. If you have an advantage, why not use it, right?
Its my wish to hold bitcoin as long as i want, but until now it was never realized. Good for you OP that you were able to do the right thing.

"Investors that have strong convictions and have done the research are able to hold for long periods of time, riding out rocky market events." That is according to Prince Alwaleed Bin Tala, a well known in the investing world.
2856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 27, 2022, 09:26:48 PM
Everyone seemed to be trusting the 76ers here to win. Well, as I always said, I still don't like the Lakers due to inconsistency, therefore I will also fade them tonight and go with the 76ers -4. Good luck everyone, let's win tonight.  Smiley
2857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 24, 2022, 09:36:31 PM
The vote says it All with 19 Magsayo and only 6 for russel?

but also i believe that if Russel has no Injury? then Mark Magsayo will be having more difficult chance of winning.
It will be a difficult fight if Russell is not injured. Russell is still very quick and fast even with his just left hand in the fight. Hopefully, we can see a rematch so really see what will be the outcome of the fight.
Indeed, although I bet on Magsayo I gotta admit to myself that it's what I saw. it's just so unfortunate for Rusell, he wasn't able to fight well to defend his title, but I'm sure he'll get a rematch as Magsayo has to prove to the fans that he can win even against a healthy Rusell.

Despite the fact that he is already a champion now, we can still see that he has some weaknesses and that his movement is pretty much easy to predict. The power he has in his punches are good already, there's just some improvement he has to make, it should be the footwork and choosing the quality of punches he has to throw, if he can perfect that, then I would say he really would become a dangerous fighter who has power and speed.

Exactly, that's what I saw as well. He won the fight but could not dominate it despite Rusell being injured and fighting with one hand only. We know Rusell is a sore loser but he was really good, and if he wasn't injured, he could have given Magsayo a boxing lesson as he can hit him and he is fast. Magsayo without a good timing in throwing his punches, he might get tired in the later rounds, so it's an area of improvement for him.
2858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 24, 2022, 08:59:44 PM
^Thank you stadus. Same pick for me with Golden State Warriors -5.5. Utah Jazz is in bad shape for now without the Spider and they even lost against the Rockets a couple of games ago. And to add to that problem are Gobert and Bogdanovic as questionable for the game.

We lost, Warriors won but the spread was not covered. If it was only a high scoring game then there's  a chance the spread will be covered. But it's fine, we can bounce back later, though there are only 4 games available but I can choose the best one to cap. With that said, I'm with the Utah Jazz +9.5 and ML.

I like the Jazz here after seeing what them play yesterday, they are still a good shooting team even with Donovan Mitchell's absence, It's going to be a different game against the Phoenix Suns for sure but I believe the spread is just about right enough for them to easily cover.
They were able to compete with the Warriors and cover the handicap, with this higher handicap, it's so tempting and therefore putting some bet on ML is automatic for me.

I really don't like any other fixture from today, but I'll be taking the Over 202.5 in the Cavaliers vs New York Knicks, and hopefully it's not just a trap.
Good luck, you got the OT as your chance to win the total in case it will be a low scoring game as I think it will also be a close game.
2859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 24, 2022, 08:32:29 PM
The Lakers' next three games will be against the Nets, 76ers, and then Hornets. This might sink them to the 9th spot of the West if they won't win at least 1 of them. 7th spot will be their safe zone and even with the play-in tournament they only need 1 win to advance to the playoffs. How I wish they will be a fresh Lakers team after the All-Star break.
With Portland Trail Blazers trying to squeeze every win they could get (2 win streak) the Lakers might even find themselves being in the 10th seed if nothing good will be done.
We can't expect too much from Lakers for the Nets game but if they are claiming to be a championship team, for the 76ers and Hornets games they should show some strength. Against the Nets, I am not so sure they can beat a strong Nets team. Especially without Anthony Davis. It seems like he was one of the key players, if not the most important player including the old Lebron we see now. If he returns healthy and if he will be his full capacity, things can change for the good. Every Lakers fan and everyone who will bet on Lakers these days must look at if AD has come back or if he is, how good he is.
AD might start playing soon, with him in the lineup, things are expected to improve.

Well, the Lakers definitely need to start winning now, they are in danger of losing a playoff stop and they are now below 0.500.
The only thing I hope is when Davis comes back, hopefully, he won't be injured again as they need to climb the ladder of competition to gain a home-court advantage once the playoffs will start.

But at least another Filipino Boxer climb up ring and now having a Belt of his career , congrats and more wins to come .
Yes, and we will have to wait for Casimero vs Butler. Another Filipino who has the belt right now, and if Casimero won then it will be a double celebration for Filipino boxing fans across the globe.
It's a good match as well, however, we don't know yet when it's gonna happen.
