In other words, pray like hell they don't break down until then...
2842  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bridging the MTGOX to BTC-e divide. (Using Ripple) on: June 03, 2013, 11:49:29 AM
BTC-e would have to become a ripple gateway like Bitstamp before you could do that.
Can't a series of users themselves become a gateway?

I thought ripples main selling point was finding routes?
2843  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Soon you can "pre-order" BFL ASIC "chips" on: June 03, 2013, 03:32:47 AM
Some bitter people in this forum.
Give this guy a clue. (A quarter)

BFL got their long boards in and are going to be working around the clock 24-7 to ship everything out now.  Josh says that everything that has been preordered up to now will ship before 100 days, when the first set of chips would be released.
You just never learn.

Considering they are shipping Jalapeno's, the chips themselves are fine.  I tend to believe his timeline of 100 days because that process is largely outside of BFL's hands anyway so there is little for them to screw up.
You really never did learn this years lesson?

It all comes down to whether you believe BFL and Josh (I do) or you don't, like most people posting in this thread (Who will undoubtedly point out for the ten thousandth time their reasoning.)
OMG.

Even the (fluffy puppy and lovable) Moderator has his immense doubts....

I think at this point you should order even more from BFL. Sell everything. Don't listen to the general consensus (which has reached a staggering critical mass 10x over).

No, don't listen to us "fools". Spend everything you have and show us how you became rich by trusting Josh's claims! Do it, you know you must....

They have over ten grand of my money, and I'm completely confident in eventually receiving what I paid for.  That said, I won't be buying chips because I do not have the expertise to build them into viable miners.  I would rather purchase a finished solution.
<Does a mime motion with hand...for "a finished solution" with an imaginary miner.

You are "super special" because you see through all the baloney!

Inaba?

Haha that's what I thought!!

It's cool though...they except Paypal!

Bit stingy of them to ask for $500 shipping though, must be working to a tight margin. Grin Grin Grin
BFL Charges more...

Does this count?
2848  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Soon you can "pre-order" BFL ASIC "chips" on: June 02, 2013, 11:10:09 PM

3. At Bitcoin Conference BFL's name was not placed anywhere on the program information nor were they included in the seminar material (AVALON was).

Seriously?

Damn, thats like being erased...

Edit: If this were the case as you claim, perhaps it is because BFL brings bad Mojo or Shame to the red carpet that is any BitCoin Company? Guilt by association?
2849  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Chips - BFL ASIC - Group Buy #1 - 100% ESCROW John K. - Kernel32 on: June 02, 2013, 08:29:21 PM

My favorite BFL low-life scam tactic was the fake 1,000 BTC charity donation "gaurantee".
I recall that, it really got under my skin.

Whats worse was BFL_Josh (Inaba) was letting people fight it out "over which charity" would be getting the winnings if they lost the bet.

All vapor, no substance.

He recently admitted on the BFL forums that they missed their power numbers. Plainly stated in no uncertain terms. The only question left is when the Mods and Admins are going to carry out the penalty. It's pretty black and white at this point.
2850  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Chips - BFL ASIC - Group Buy #1 - 100% ESCROW John K. - Kernel32 on: June 02, 2013, 08:22:55 PM
Look, one huuuge issue is the lead time in developing a valid PCB and working prototype, seeing as BFL haven't managed one to opensource themselves either...!

They'd need to be supplying advance chips to DIY board developers to make this work in their favour...

F**k they need to do that to complete their existing pre-orders anyway!!
Good idea, and this is something they can actually do right now.

See, there is always a silver lining if executed right.
2851  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Chips - BFL ASIC - Group Buy #1 - 100% ESCROW John K. - Kernel32 on: June 02, 2013, 08:20:22 PM
I might be open to do this if there was a set period (say 1 month?) where BFL will have to release more proof on the issue like reference designs/chip examples etc, and a definite period where the escrow get released back to the buyers if BFL still does not ship. (say 100 days like they promised?)

Anyhow, I'm still waiting and watching this. I don't want people to get their coins tied up too long (and me increasing my risks of holding the coins even longer) if BFL keeps delaying. If anyone has a better idea of what's going on I'm all ears.  Smiley

Thank you for taking the time John.

I would maybe also add a condition of at least one capable board developer involved before any funds are collected. IF there is a reason to do so anyway. Wink

My God,

You are doing everything right! What the hell is wrong with all the other threads that they aren't seemingly even doing half of what you are doing...

I am gonna guess you are the "go to" place for the first BFL batch order. I don't see it happening in the other threads. (Well except maybe with MrTeal.)

Could you check your PM's? (I sent you a message last night about something you mentioned yesterday)

2854  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: BFL chips group buy #1 - survey on: June 02, 2013, 05:42:59 PM
You would collect the full chip cost and pay BFL half (since they need 1/2 up front for an order), and  the remaining half would be in escrow?

No, giving money to BFL is same as throwing them away. Full hand-to-hand business is the only way with BFL. No upfront.

We are not sheep, we are the costumers and we make the rules. That's economy 101.

Give this guy the Trophy for BitCoinTalk 2013.

He got it right!
2855  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: BFL chips group buy #1 - survey on: June 02, 2013, 05:41:30 PM
No No and No

Come on dude are you joking?  BFL is joke that is all. I will trow my money in garbage but i will never buy a nut from BFL

That is my opinion

Best luck to all of BFL customers though

You are very right, that's why I intend to use money as leverage and don't give them a penny on preorder. (Other people did >> Horrible failure)

They could accept this if they are in need of money and board manufacturing is the bottleneck.

You sir, are doing it right.

Though, I don't think BFL will accept your terms...unfortunately.

But you have my full hearted blessings.
2856  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: BFL chips group buy #1 on: June 02, 2013, 04:58:08 PM
I wonder if this builds confidence in BFL pre-order customers or if that is like the last red sign before driving off a cliff?
2857  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: theASIC miner availible! on: June 02, 2013, 04:54:49 PM
This is a scam, HDMI only carries video and audio. Full Stop.

Also 0 contact information or address. Never buy anything without a physical address.

Additionally, the website looks like it was put together by an 8 year old. Why they didn't just adapt a free professional-looking template I don't know.
Actually it also carries ethernet signals in the newest revision.

But looking beyond that, it is a tenuous offer at best. I am not aware that HDMI 1.4 contains any daisy chain structure to begin with.
2858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Announces Bulk Chip Sales on: June 02, 2013, 04:46:37 PM
This is interesting.  Chips delivered en mass in around 100 days?  Is that BFL suggesting they will get most or all of their preorders done within the next 100 days and then concentrate on the chip business?  To me it seems pretty unlikely, as the PCBs instead of the chips seem to be the hold up right now.  BFL could well be shipping chips while product preorders are still outstanding.  It will take a while for third parties to develop, test and ship their own boards so BFL probably have 200 days from now before rival products appear based on BFL chips.

So... at 200 days for 3rd party.

I guess the question folks considering chips need to ask themselves is... will third parties deliver faster at 200 days, than BFL itself.  Tough call... I would lean towards third parties.

I personally have no interest in their chips with the current state of information about them and their reference design.

Or it is total BS, which from these guy seems totally likely.

Remember, not one unit of the newer BitForce line has shipped, at all. Just a few Jalepenos so far, which is an older one before that little refresh when it was obvious their first design was flawed.

Now they suddenly can handle additional demand to ship bulk chips too?  Undecided

Or, maybe BFL needs a little more funding to buy the chips for the new product lines.
I wonder if there is a respin in progress as well.
2859  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Announces Bulk Chip Sales on: June 02, 2013, 04:43:16 PM
If they deliver a single ASIC before all pre-orders are shipped, they fucked their customers again. There are no signs that they will ship all their pre-orders in the next 100 days. I read the announcement several times but don't see the statement that the ASIC shipment will begin after the last Miner pre-order was shipped.

I hope they do, just to rub it in your face! It's clowns like yourself that try and equate the supply of a single component with the supply of a completed whole item. If it were just chip supply that was holding up the pre-orders they would have been out the door weeks ago. Why not pick on long torex screws, or cases, they need those too.

Those screws and cases were ordered long in advance, erk. Sometimes re-ordered more than once when the design changed.

Please, learn...something.
2860  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Announces Bulk Chip Sales on: June 02, 2013, 04:40:34 PM
Is it OK in the US if those damn assholes sell the basic components of a product I already paid in June 2012 to another customer?! They should burn in hell!  Huh

Considering that's not what they are doing, all you have done is shown your lack of comprehension of a relatively simple product announcement. I suggest you go and read it again, perhaps twice.

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/3014-butterfly-labs-announces-bulk-chip-sales.html
Uh, they are offering to convert orders to chips orders. So it appears you don't know or don't read...
