it is not being hacked when you do not encrypt your wallet a feature built-in to most clients

next time use electrum client, 10 sec install and setup

would you leave your real wallet out on the dash of your car? no
Shameless plug for Inputs - you can take your wallet with you.

Very cool site.

A feature that I think would be popular is having a unique inputs.io address for each user. Then inputs.io users can have short little addresses for sending BTC to each other as long as they both have accounts. (Also helps publicity because a side effect will be that people will put input.io addresses in their signature)

I'd love something short like: "h8be"
Then I can say: sent payment to input.io user h8be!

Keep up the good work.
Implemented usernames!

Mine is gladoscc / https://inputs.io/u/gladoscc Smiley

2849  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: New 'Buy Bitcoin' Service in Australia is open! on: July 04, 2013, 06:08:50 AM
The lowest fee in Australia is Coinjar (2%).

Also, maybe you can get it down to minutes / seconds if you send to Inputs.io!

It means that the page has non SSL elements included. It is ok.
2852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adapting to the release of Zerocoin on: July 04, 2013, 03:54:51 AM
So if I understand this correctly, no changes need to be made to Bitcoin for an altcoin like this to be created. If that's the case, we don't need to wait to get the agreement or cooperation of Bitcoin devs before we proceed to implement it, correct?
Yes, but you can't turn "Zerocoin Bitcoins" back into real Bitcoin unless you find someone willing to exchange them. It's a one way trip.
2853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did Satoshi Program for Incentive to Spend? on: July 04, 2013, 03:53:52 AM
Just one reason, there are many more ...

So I can send money to people round the world without having to pay all the ridiculous fees Paypal + Western Union + banks charge you.

This. Zero fee is the future.
2854  Economy / Services / Re: Free bitcoins (up to 0.4BTC/mo): Advertise these links in your sig! on: July 04, 2013, 03:51:56 AM
This looks so great, sadly I just registered and have a little close to nothing activity. Will add em once I have a few miles. I am even already using inputs.io
We count your posts at the end of each cycle - so change your sig now and you can get payouts faster!

We count posts, not activity.
2855  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: OnionPay - Gauging Interest for a new easy to use BTC no-fee payment processor! on: July 04, 2013, 03:37:00 AM
There are already merchant solutions supporting instant offchain payments which are much much more anonymous and suitable for deepweb transactions.

A dead's man switch is typically something that you can automate. Not in your case ?

A dead man's switch is something that automatically sends codes to access the cold storage to a designated 3rd party.  I'm trying to find a suitable 3rd party.

I could act as a dead mans switch, as this wouldn't require maintenance unless something bad happens. You know my GPG key.
2857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did Satoshi Program for Incentive to Spend? on: July 04, 2013, 03:30:23 AM
Why would you spend Bitcoins? Because you have basic human needs like food and shelter.
2858  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Inputs.io | Instant Payments | Easy API | Secure Wallet | Offchain | No fees on: July 04, 2013, 03:26:51 AM
Great site!

Some questions:

1. In the Send Bitcoins page, there is a USD calculator box. Any chance you could add a preference to change it to Euro, too? Also, where are you getting the exchange rate for that?

2. I undestand that you can withdraw from Coinlenders back to inputs.io. You also can send instantly to just-dice, but looks like you can't send back to inputs.io wallet from there. Any plans to allow instant withdrawals from just-dice to inputs.io wallet?
1. Done. See the latest news update Smiley

2. Yes, dooglus should support that soon.

Thank you for all the feedback and suggestions. We want to make Inputs even better Smiley (not saying we're not already the best wallet out there, heh)
2859  Economy / Services / Re: Free bitcoins (up to 0.4BTC/mo): Advertise these links in your sig! on: July 04, 2013, 03:06:44 AM
Thanks.  I updated my Sig.
We pay double to inputs.io addresses (can be a bitcoin address or email) - your current one (1Ec4YrerAAhM4f6isE59FsjeSFK5ZN3ww) won't get double.
2860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Blockchain Size on: July 04, 2013, 03:04:36 AM
The basic problem can be solved with SPV / light nodes, which are mentioned in satoshi's paper. Alternately, as Bitcoin services evolve and stop being run and developed by incompetent coders that get hacked, people will place more trust on online wallets that do not require downloading the blockchain.
