2861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 06, 2020, 03:19:16 PM
When I asked who is the founder of Ethereum they even don't know, so they are diving into an investment without knowing how it will work as long as they will earn as the Ponzi scheme company promised.
The problems with people is that they do not invest their time searching and studying what is the company's process of generating profit overtime. If the business is focusing only in recruitment of people and with every join has a fee, then it is basically an indication that a certain company's main source of profit is from join fee not from their product itself.

You can't recruit all people and ask them to sell your products to each other lol
2862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 06, 2020, 01:04:40 PM
I'm actually surprised that the Philippines' SEC actually knew that Ethereum Dapps exist LOL.
I don't know if it's a good sign though..but the fact they are aware to the extent that the ETH Dapps are existing might result to good and bad outcome LOL

I'm really surprised to see that Philippines is going towards this direction. I thought they were crypto friendly nation but turns out their government agencies knows nothing about crypto.
I am not certain but the fact that they are operating crypto exchange/wallet such as coins.ph under the regulation of Bank of the Philippines while knowing that they are aware that ETH Dapps are existing is clear sign that they have an idea (of course!)
2863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 06, 2020, 12:41:34 PM
Not familiar with these two  "RCashOnline and "The Saint John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta Foundation of the Philippines, Inc." but the other ponzi scheme who used to be called "Forsage" does really make a noise which eventually managed to persuade numerous Filipino citizen including few of my acquaintances.

As far as I know, the founder of forsage pyramiding x crowdfunding x ponzi scheme is also the founder of smartway.run and Million Money which also turns out to be a vaporware project that promotes matrix or pyramiding cycle with no existing product to offer.

Forsage is just another BS that uses referal program to earn; as long as you are at the top of the chain you have the advantage to earn as much compare to people who are late to join the boat.

Remember that not all projects which uses "blockchain" are all legit.
2864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need an addition of a safety feature? User friendly? on: July 06, 2020, 12:15:29 PM
Shoudn't it be the people who is responsible to improve their privacy in the first place? considering that we only use it as form of currency in exchange for goods and services and not committing to fraudulent activities such as being a money crypto-fiat transmitter without any license to operate.

bitcoin is still in its infancy stage and it is obvious that there are lots of improvement that needs to be executed before it will achieve a big upgrade with regards to scalability and privacy issues. I am certain that the only thing we can do right now is to practice on how we can attain an optimum privacy.
2865  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 play&invest, ETH Number Hunt Competition just started! on: July 06, 2020, 11:38:14 AM
A lot of them have similar names and their ID numbers are close together. It can't just be a coincidence that almost everyone has a username that is either a basketball player, cartoon character or pro wrestler. Even if it is allowed, it's a bit disconcerting that so few people can monopolize the competition.
People who has the capacity to distribute their wealth in each and every account can easily monopolize the game. However, there is also a chance that they can be rekt easily if they don't primarily check their emotion though.

A lot of people are doing this process i think not just in YOLOdice  Wink
2866  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: While using bitcoin there should be privacy on: July 06, 2020, 10:32:44 AM
Using only wallets that connect you to blockchain is safest
Using wallets that require email or private key is not best at all, I remember when Satoshi created bitcoin core wallet, it has private keys, and if difficult to use for a start there are still many wallets that follow the rules of privacy like hardware wallets,
Even if you have the full authority of private keys in your hand and as long as you are trusting your bitcoin transaction to nodes owned by the wallet manufacturer or to the people behind that non-custodial wallet, privacy is still not guaranteed simply because the people behind those wallet can manage to bind your bitcoin address to your IP Address. Therefore, running your full node might be the best option if you want to take advantage of increasing your privacy.

3. What is the best way to privacy? I will choose bitcoin ATMs
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5260058.0 most of the answer within this thread will give you an idea on how to achieve optimun privacy.

I can't vouch most of them since I am still at the experimentation stage on how to achieve or improve my privacy as well.
2867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 05, 2020, 02:23:26 PM
bitcoin is still in its infancy stage making it subjected to volatility thus people sees bitcoin as an alternative investment vehicle where they can store, trade and hold to secure their wealth in the long run

Just be reminded that bitcoin is a multifaceted tool, it is not caged to the concept of investment, it can be political or maybe used as an alternative for payment in exchange for goods and services  Wink

Just at look at the other sides.
2868  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 play&invest, ETH Number Hunt Competition just started! on: July 05, 2020, 01:55:56 PM
Deposited ETH over 3 hours ago.  I emailed support.  NOthing.  SMH Angry
It look like to eth network is congested making your transaction to be delayed.

Well after 6 weeks of inveszting on yolodice, i'm calling it quits.
Out of all 3 investments ($250 in BTC, 2 LTC and 10k doge), i'm only in positive with LTC, about 0.02 LTC.
Rest is negative. So yeah... not saying it's scam or anything, just there's better investment options
Have you already closed your investment? Maybe it is because of one lucky whale who won against house edge LOL! Well, you can easily gamble what you have lost in past few weeks of investment, that's what I do when I decided to close my investment at loss, but then I am planning to reinvest a much larger value.

This is for BTC investment
2869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you hide your identity with bitcoin? (100%) on: July 05, 2020, 06:02:35 AM
Not to argue but at some point, the argument given by your friend is somehow true since bitcoin transactions are publicly available to be viewed by masses hence it is called blockchain as a public ledger though -- to maintain transparency. Here is a quote from satoshi regarding transactions.

When you send to a bitcoin address, you don't connect to the recipient.  You send the transaction to the network the same way you relay transactions.  There's no distinction between a transaction you originated and one you received from another node that you're relaying in a broadcast.  With a very small network though, someone might still figure it out by process of elimination.  It'll be better when the network is larger.

If you send by IP, the recipient sees you because you connect to their IP.  You could use TOR to mask that.

You could use TOR if you don't want anyone to know you're even using Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still very new and has not been independently analysed.  If you're serious about privacy, TOR is an advisable precaution.
It is obvious that the transaction volume are much bigger right now but it is not enough to be considered as a factor for anonymity if we are still dependent on using exchange and custodial wallet which requires KYC in which we cannot taken back and will probably be tied permanently to our own identity.

bitcoin transaction are not anonymous but rather pseudonymous by default and I think no one can achieve a hundred percentage of anonymity, your choice are only to increase you privacy efficiency by using tools that can obscure internet activities.

I could sign with all those types of addesses using Coinomi, it's just that yolodice wasn't verifying the signed message (with p2sh and bech32 addresses).
Yes, it is simply because segwit addresses such as P2SH (starts with 3) and bech32 (starts with bc1) has no standard format or script that can sign a message and verify it using any other wallet.

Personally, I have signed a segwit address based on the key pair produced by my Ledger Nano S using Electrum but unable to verify the signed message using brainwallet, and the only wallet that can verify your signed message is none other than Electrum itself. If for instance you were able to sign a message using segwit address in Coinomi, then it is more likely that the only wallet that can verify your signed message is none other than Coinomi as well.

Same goes with YOLOdice.
2871  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 play&invest, ETH Number Hunt Competition just started! on: July 05, 2020, 04:23:52 AM
Bit of suggestion, my deadass was trying to sign message with 'bc1' and 'segwit' addresses, I'm not sure of the difference between the two, anyway, i wasted like half hour about the problem then from Coinomi support (yes i use that wallet don't hate me), i got to know some services don't recognize those addresses. So could you throw proper error (instead of directly showing 'invalid') or support  those types of addresses altogether?
As far as I know only Electrum wallet supports signing a message using P2SH (starts with 3) and bech32 (starts with bc1) and it is the only wallet who can verify your signed message since there is still no standard format which enables you to verify it using any other wallet. The only address that let's you verify using any other wallet is the legacy (start with 1)

Is it allowed that the same person can win more than one prize in the number hunt competition? It seems like most of the leaderboard is full of multi-accounters. It could all even be just one guy.
The use of multiple account in YOLOdice to play is fine but it is strictly prohibited to use multiple account in chatroom. So, if the instances that these account are controlled by only one person then he can probably win those prizes in number hunt competition.
2872  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.0 got released on: July 05, 2020, 03:26:25 AM
You should have a copy of it either way.

whenever there is a major update like this (eg. from version 1.x.x to 2.x.x to 3.x.x to 4.x.x) it is more important to create a backup of your wallet file(s) before upgrading to the new version.
I've found my wallet using this redirectory
Go to \Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Electrum (or %APPDATA%\Electrum)

So, I need to encrypt my wallet files using Kleopatra and store it in a USB stick? I have my seed phrase written on a piece of paper and is stored somewhere safe.
2873  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - theyoungmillionaire u=1180530 on: July 04, 2020, 02:48:33 PM
Since my first post, Maus0728 has removed their trust of theyoungmillionaire but continues to trust all others (the group in what seems to be a DT abuse cluster).
Yes. I don't have nothing to hide with regards to removing TYM as one of the people that is included in my trust list recently. I removed him immediately when @LoyceV replied to this thread prior to your first post.

He has much more DT1-exclusions than inclusions already, but his sent feedback is still valid, right? I can understand why some people don't exclude him. Even though he can't be trusted with money, his past judgement on others is still good. It would be a different story if he started leaving incorrect ratings now, but he hasn't even been online anymore.

This quote reminds me that I need to remove him in my Trust list.

I trusted those user because they are the people who are once active in our Pilipinas Local Section helping to make our forum clean and spam free. Also, I can easily remove Silent26, Strufmbae in my trust list since they are not that active anymore but I won't remove finaleshot2016, GDragon and crwth since they are the one who help me throughout my entire journey in this community and are still active.
2874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain.com - Insufficient Funds Error? on: July 04, 2020, 12:23:26 PM
Well, there are similar threads with regards to this issue.

[1] Contact their support
[2] You can import your seed phrase to a reputable non-custodial wallet such as Electrum

The 2nd method seemed to properly work with previous similar cases:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5257914.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5258478.0

Wonder why these issues are persistent on their side..
2875  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is it possible for a single wallet to access all 3 Bitcoin address formats? on: July 04, 2020, 12:10:31 PM
~snip~
If you really want to be secure, then I would pair a hardware wallet with Electrum. Generate a BIP39 seed phrase on the hardware wallet, write it down on paper, and then you can use Electrum to create one wallet of each type (1, 3, and bc1) all unlocked by your hardware wallet.
Personally using these method, I've created 2 separate bitcoin wallet file using the same seed generated by the hardware wallet that has a script type of  P2SH and Bech32 and you can easily access them by connecting your Ledger Nano S to your PC.

However, it would take a bit of effort to change your wallet from one script type to another since you need to manually close the wallet and then choose the other wallet file that contains the other script type.
2876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum-Forsage on: July 04, 2020, 11:46:49 AM
Beware of this ponzi scheme. As far as I know, this type of investment strategy is not new to everyone, so be very cautious when someone is inviting you to join such project.

2877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrop 2020 in tables - how to earn cryptocurrency without investments on: July 04, 2020, 10:13:54 AM
Not to drag you down but I think that you should be more careful when dealing with those airdrop that appears out of thin air. Some of them are not worth time and effort sacrificing for the sake of receiving little to no value cryptocurrency. You are also possibly compromising your privacy and security without you noticing.

Anyhow, I appreciate your effort compiling though but as far as I know this is not the right section for your thread, it should be in the Service Discussion (Altcoins) board. Moreover, your list does not contain any links making it to be unclickable for someone who's interested joining those airdrop.

Just a heads up, be cautious when joining airdrop though.
2878  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.0 got released on: July 04, 2020, 09:11:58 AM
Wait! This is my first time updating my electrum wallet. I am using Electrum only to serve as an interface to access my bitcoin wallet using my Ledger Nano S.

Do I need to delete the entire application and then verify and re-install the newest version? Will the wallet file be deleted?
2879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Awesome tools list on: July 04, 2020, 03:59:48 AM
Are those C++ libraries can be used to program how bitcoin adresses created? From generating private key to public key and eventually creating bitcoin address.

As far as I remember there is someone who created a thread how bitcoin addreses are created using JavaScript, I would like to know if those C++ bitcoin related library can be utilized to produce such experiment?
2880  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The good the bad and the ugly -bounty weekly report spammers- on: July 03, 2020, 01:58:50 PM
Maybe those people who falls to the last 2 categories you've mentioned are still stucked to the small reward they can get at the expense of wasting excessive time and effort. They just do not appreciate the true extent of participating in the forum causing them to look that this community is a mere money making machine.

Perhaps, there will come a time that they will get tired and leave their old and awful habit.
