Indeed, I find a number of governments' recent moves against privacy disturbing.  But maybe we should ask TF what he thinks?

Good news for Bit-x.

Did you realize that bitcoininformation has new name Shocked
Didn't know that was possible Cheesy

I think it's only donators that get that ability.  Anyway, the barred l means lateral fricative in americanist phonetics, I don't know if this is what he's going for or if he just likes the way it looks.

Depends on if the salt is different for each user (I assumed it would be).
2864  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: XBT Jackpot - Free 10mBTC on: January 19, 2015, 03:33:43 AM
Nope, I'm still here and still sending out bonus codes. There are many exciting new developments coming at XBTJackpot and everyone who has been following this thread closely will be the first to know about them.

To claim your bonus code, send me a private message. You must have an activity rating of at least 15 and if you have already received a bonus code you are not eligible to receive a second. The decreasing price of Bitcoin means that we have even more free bonus codes to give out than ever before.

I sent you a PM over two months ago and never received a code.  If you are indeed sending them out, I'd like to try one.
2865  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: January 18, 2015, 07:29:04 PM
I'm back!

And to answer the question directly, I could approximately 9mBTC with my current activity.  But guess what, that was without posting.  So I appreciated that bitmixer was the only campaign that paid me for my thousands of old posts without requiring new posts and therefore not in any way accusable of causing spam.

Cheers!

I had to join this thread.  I am also HODLing!
2867  Economy / Speculation / Re: hodling or holding? on: January 18, 2015, 07:24:18 PM
What's the story with this one?  Is there a story?

I think it all started with this thread..

and it's becoming quite famous

Haha thanks for sharing that I've never read the OP of that thread.

Strangely, all these replies seem to have never made it into my "new replies" page.  I'm just catching up on all this great info now.  But for the moment, Katsou, why'd you correct my sotry spelling?  Didn't you get it?  Smiley
2868  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: January 18, 2015, 07:19:58 PM
Absolutely, seals has gotta be one of the oldest btc sites around that hasn't ever suffered a major security break and I'm convinced that this is because of the manual withdrawals.  Thanks, seals, for putting security before convenience.
2869  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: January 15, 2015, 09:48:49 PM
Yah, shortest blogpost ever from their promotions feed.  "Seals is gonna level up".  Mysterious.
2870  Economy / Services / Re: Silver Wallets Signature Campaign on: January 15, 2015, 02:53:49 AM
If this is still open, I would much prefer this to what I am currently running...I actually met you guys at the Chicago show!

I'd also like to post about 10 more times and see if I'm a hero...I've been on here long enough, that's for sure.

The offer for the signature campaign is long closed, but they're still selling the silver wallets!
2871  Other / Off-topic / Re: Am I the only girl on here? : ( on: January 15, 2015, 02:52:45 AM
Jeez, I'm wishing there was some sort of unsubscribe button.  Apparantely I'm the only girl is going to follow me for the rest of my life.
2872  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: January 15, 2015, 02:28:25 AM
It's impossible for btc to go to absolute zero (at the moment) because there are plenty of folks like me who only have a few btc and aren't really interested in selling.  That is, I got my btc several years ago for next to nothing so i have nothing in the game to lose by simply holding.  That being said, btc may get a whole lot cheaper, and if that happens, then those no-rake micro games might as well be renamed no-rake nano or pico games. Smiley
2873  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ask TF thread on: January 14, 2015, 03:58:11 AM
TradeFortress has come out and said he was one of the owners of hashie.co, a cloudmining service that also had its hot wallet "hacked" with 97% of the BTC in it:

I might not be checking this thread or support@hashie.co much in the future, but if you need to contact me for any reason feel free to email me at admin@glados.cc Smiley

Bye everyone!

That's pretty funny, anyway.
2874  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dragon's Tale - a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG/Casino on: January 14, 2015, 03:52:36 AM
You are right, I definitely have had that problem in the past.  I remember cashing out 0.2BTC before and being shocked to see it was sent with no fee and it took like 16 hours to confirm.  Teppy definitely needs to send a standard fee with withdrawals---especially those over a certain "seriousness" threshold.  Neverthless, in my experience, I've never had an issue with my withdrawal's being processed (and eventually confirmed by the network).
2875  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: January 14, 2015, 03:50:12 AM
Yes, DoD was super-fun.  I have to admit it's basically the only place I play poker online (I'm obviously not terribly serious about it, however, I love jumping into a ring-game on my long bus rides).  I hope seals doesn't fall too far behind.  I still usually find plenty of action.
2876  Economy / Speculation / hodling or holding? on: January 08, 2015, 07:23:20 AM
I see this all the time in this board "HODL".  I get it that sometimes we on the internet spell things funny and a typo can catch on (for example, "teh", inter alia).  What's the story with this one?  Is there a story?  What about a sotry?
2877  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: January 08, 2015, 07:21:15 AM
We've now chatted quite a bit about some draw and stud games but I'm head to hear the opinions of any of the seals engineers/staff.  There seems to be some interest in a few low-stakes tables.  What does the staff say?
2878  Other / Meta / Re: Just remove signatures already. As in delete, disable, gone. on: January 08, 2015, 07:16:30 AM
Since PD has stopped their campaign I have noticed quite a reduction in spam since most of the current ones pay for a set amount.

It has increased now with the payments based on posts campaigns.

The activity and signature limit worked well to curb this for a few months. Its time Theymos did another scaling or adding new restrictions. Personally, I would prefer activity based on powers of 2, like in bit/byte/kB etc. Its a Bitcoin forum, so makes sense to count in bits.

Power's of 2 rankings would be cute.  But fwiw, most people count bitcoins in decimal.
2879  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: January 08, 2015, 07:13:09 AM
I'm headed back here in another week.  I love the bitmixer campaign (even though I'm a little sad about the new rules).

Hey, thanks michelem, I will try that.  I guess I shoulda read `man screen' eh? Smiley

EDIT: that did it!
