2861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Initial Investment Amount on: September 21, 2017, 10:15:03 AM
The ideal initial amount is 0 (zero), you earn some coins in airdrops, giveaways or doing some simple tasks online and then you build your portfolio from there.

That's how you really learn to navigate in bitcoinland.

If you have enough money to invest, money your can afford to lose, then just buy bitcoin every month, sit on it, and in a few years you'll have a nice sum of money.
Is it really possible for newbies to earn any significant amount of coins through airdrops or giveaways? I mean actual Bitcoin, not some obscure ICO that gives away a few of their tokens.

I tried some faucets and stuff myself when I first started, but quickly found out that they weren't worth the effort and I just bought some coins for a couple of hundred dollars after a few days.

I've never lost any, so it can't be too hard for a newbie to learn about Bitcoin after making a small investment.

Though this was before the fees were so high, so I guess you could make some mistakes with that now.
2862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: dice game loosing streak on each percentage! on: September 21, 2017, 10:00:24 AM
I don't really think there's anything wrong with these kinds of topics, I mean the search function on this site isn't always too great and this is a question that can get a lot of responses from people who had a recent experience with this.

I've personally had a 10 turn losing streak when trying out martingale, didn't lose any huge amounts, but it just shows that these aren't as rare as you might think.

Btw, I tried looking for some other threads with big martingale losing streaks, I remember a guy losing a couple of BTC a few years ago, but couldn't find the thread.

If anyone could find this thread, I'd like to read it again.
2863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN HACKED.. on: September 21, 2017, 09:41:26 AM
This is exactly why I don't trust any wallets on my phone. Call me old fashioned, but I will always stick to desktop wallets.
Not that I just randomly install apps on my phone, but I've always thought that Android wasn't as secure as pc operating systems.

Or am I really misguided on this?
2864  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Tlind Messenger on: September 20, 2017, 03:25:53 PM
You can just post your website here on the forum, no need to do the whole (dot) thing. See: http://tlind.io/

Your website mentions that you will be rewarding people for becoming members and giving up their personal information, how much of a share do users get from that?

What makes your app different from the dozens of similar apps that already exist? I think it's a very tough market to get established in.
2865  Economy / Economics / Re: A sprinkle of realism ... on: September 20, 2017, 08:57:11 AM
You definitely have a very healthy attitude towards investing in general, it's always smart to be very critical of something that you do not have experience or knowledge of.

That said, I'd say it's pretty likely that Bitcoin will continue to grow to even higher levels than we are seeing today.
Big investment funds are slowly but surely adopting Bitcoin in their portfolio, they bring billions of fresh marketcap to Bitcoin and they're driving the prices up.

Mind you, this is purely for speculation purposes, if Bitcoin sees massive increase of users also, the price will get pushed up even further and that will also provide some sort of safety net for when investors pull out.

Like with any investment, only invest what you're able or willing to lose, even if that scenario is very unlikely.
2866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banksters officially declare war on Bitcoin! on: September 20, 2017, 08:46:33 AM

If you've noticed the follow up news then you'd know the JP Morgan bought BTC during the dip.. Man!

Well he didn't actually buy any Bitcoin directly, he bought Bitcoin exchange-traded-notes. But Dimon said that anyone that has to do anything with cryptocurrencies will be fired so that is interesting.
Do you happen to have a source for that? Not that I don't believe you, but I'd like to see something more substantial than a post on a public forum to verify those claims.

It would be pretty epic if there was actual proof of this, it would almost invalidate his previous claims that Bitcoin is a fraud.
2867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What the games you play as you earn? on: September 20, 2017, 08:35:08 AM
I'm a big fan of either roulette or lottery on Crypto-Games (see my signature), their lottery is actually +EV, so the house doesn't win on that game.

I really like their roulette because it's a lot faster than many other roulette games on other sites.

It's also possible to use altcoins for betting on Crypto-Games and you can even exchange your Bitcoins to altcoins on their website, so you don't have to lose out on fees to exchange them.
2868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parents disagree with MMO – Make Money Online and Bitcoin ? on: September 20, 2017, 08:21:54 AM
My parent , especially my mom , she always tell me to stop doing bitcoin otherwise i will go to jail or doing bad things to social ! I don't get it ! Old generation seem very lack of experience in Bitcoin ! Why they keep telling us to stop when they even don't know how to check a simple email on ebay ! How to explain them guys ?
Tell her to stop being stupid or you will call the cops and put her in jail.
I really hope that you're joking. It's pretty normal for parents to want to protect their children from things they don't understand and that might harm them.

It's far better to just have an open conversation with them and try and explain Bitcoin to them.

If you're having this conversation with them, try not to get angry and just talk to them in a calm manner and try to explain everything in a very simple way.
2869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins to Trade Vs To Hold? on: September 19, 2017, 12:17:22 PM
I can't give you any advice on any specific coins, but I would assume that a coin is only good for day trading if there's enough volatility in that market.
Even then, it's not for everyone. By trading, you're automatically taking more risks than when you're just holding your coins as a long term investment.

But in some cases, you just want to sell and rebuy, even if you're generally holding coins for the long term.

A good example is the recent news and price drops of Bitcoin. I sold my coins after the news hit at around 4600 dollars and re-bought everything at around 3200 dollars.
So that was some quick and easy profit, since you could see the market move like that from miles away.

Cool idea though, will you be able to purchase these in the future as a gift or are these only for use by CG itself?

Also, support did a great job of helping me with setting up an account for my girlfriend. They replied within 5 minutes!
2871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Board games on: September 19, 2017, 09:18:30 AM
This would be so fun if it actually existed, but I'm afraid that there aren't any providers for these kinds of games.
It would also be kinda difficult to implement this in a gambling context and it would require a lot of custom programming and licenses from the game manufacturers.

Most people would want to play boardgames they know, not some newly invented game.
2872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bloomberg shifting position on Bitcoin on: September 19, 2017, 08:49:33 AM
They are just blindly following the trends, I mean it's just too easy to jump on the bandwagon when there is negative news about Bitcoin and focus on that instead of bringing some nuance to the whole matter.
Nuance doesn't sell but exaggerated headlines do. They're just looking to get more people to click on their articles, it's as simple as that. I personally don't think they have their own agenda to push with bitcoin.
2873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question of Bitcoin Price Change on: September 18, 2017, 06:51:17 PM
The main reason any investment rises or falls is supply and demand. More supply,ie coins available, and the price drops while more demand, lrss coins available and the price rises. It is the reasons for the change in supply and demand that must be found eg at the moment the news of actions in China.
Supply and demand has little to do with these recent price changes, these are mostly based on recent events.
More supply or demand is the end result of these changes, but they're not the cause.

Bitcoin is highly speculative at this point, so any news will have a significant effect on the price.

Is it allowed for someone in the same household to also have an account at Crypto-Games?
My girlfriend would like to invest on Crypto-games, but on her own account. We're usually sharing the same IP addresses, around 3 or 4 IP addresses in total (mobile, cable@home & at cable@work)
Contact support and check with them if a special case allowance can be given in your case.
Usually better to ask for permission and get yourself noted down first, instead of going ahead without anyone knowing.
Yeah that's why I asked on this thread first. I mean, I could just use a vpn or proxy but I'd rather not do anything against the rules.
I'll send a copy of my question to CG support Smiley

The FAQ doesn't really mention if this is allowed:
Quote

Can I have multiple accounts?
No, only one account per person is allowed. Players with multiple accounts will be blocked and all funds, including investments, will be confiscated.

She doesn't ever intend to play or withdraw from the faucet, just purely have the account for investments only. I can also provide some sort of verification, a picture of us both with a custom hand written note or something?
2876  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Crypto-Games.net ★ 10 coins ★ 7 games ★ Since 2014 ★ STRATIS added! on: September 17, 2017, 09:49:51 AM
I've seen other sites implement a technical solution for differentiating the source of referral clicks by adding a &tag= to the end of the url.
so https://www.crypto-games.net?i=abc123
becomes https://www.crypto-games.net?i=abc123&tag=source1
I don't think it's too hard to implement.
If the only intention is to track a total amount of traffic, it's fairly easy.
You can even do that right now by using a third party (eg by routing all traffic through bit.ly/goo.gl or a domain you own and track it that way).

If you want to track several campaigns deeper than just amounts of traffic, going into signups, commission paid for each campaign, all the way down to tracking a single user,
the changes neccessary get bigger and it's not as easy an implementation.
Yeah that's a solution I can use perhaps, but I don't know if it's allowed by all advertising networks.

I know that with Adwords you could use bit.ly if you leave the displayed link to the destination url visible. At least that's how it was when I last used Adwords a few years ago.

Like this:
Ad display url : Crypto-games.net?i=NFcxxxxcrK
Destination url : http://bit.ly/xxxxx

But I'm not sure if it's actually allowed, so they might remove the ad if they check it manually.

Does Crypto-Games have any sort of policy regarding advertising on certain kinds of keywords?
Say I want to advertise my Crypto-Games referral link on Adwords, could I advertise on all keywords, including "Crypto-Games" for example?
You can advertise it freely.
Cool, if I decide to start an advertising campaign, I might document all statistics of my referrals on a thread in this forum.
As far as that's possible, I don't think I can differentiate between referrals from this forum and referrals from another campaign.
Yeah that's not possible, but shoot me an email to support and we'll figure something  Wink
Yeah seems pretty easy to circumvent, possibly by just using a second (new) account for that, after getting permission ofc.
I'm getting some money into my Adwords account and I'll start a campaign when I'm back from holiday in about 2 - 3 weeks Wink

Perhaps I'll even crowdsource the writing of the advertisement texts on this forum and turn it into a bit of a competition or something.

Something weird is happening at my end, does anyone have the same issue?
I can access http://cryptogambling.org/ but not if I use the first link with www. before it like this http://www.cryptogambling.org/
Something might be wrong with the dns settings?

Great idea though and I agree that it's something that's really needed in the crypto gambling world.
Are you also offering some sort of quality control label that casinos can put on their website?
2879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is good news and in fact necessary on: September 15, 2017, 02:57:53 PM
I'm not sure if I completely follow you when you say that the shutdown of exchanges is a good thing and that it means that Bitcoin is disruptive.
But I do agree that all this news from China isn't too bad at all, the dip in price might be a little bit more extreme than expected, but it's also very necessary.

Actually, I wouldn't even mind too much if China just outright banned Bitcoin altogether, at least we wouldn't be hearing any more news regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrency anymore  Tongue
2880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too much unconfirmed transactions suddenly on: September 14, 2017, 08:46:48 PM
I've been waiting 5 hours so far.. blows
I really don't understand why this keeps happening to people... Do you not check the fees before you send a transaction or do you just let your wallet add a fixed fee?

I would think that people would always check the fees by now, it's not the first time this has happened.

Just check on https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ before you send any coins.
