You guys should put your money where your mouth is and stop supporting Bitcoin blocking Apple. Buy some Bitcoin loving Android phone.
Except then I would have an android phone.
Wich would be a good thing actually
Unfortunately in the head of those disciples the Apple religion is stronger than (Bitcoin) freedom.
So I can't have free choice and choose apple?  If I choose apple then I am a zelot?  The only true choice is android?  Doesn't sound much like free will to me.
You are free to choose

But if you choose a fail thing then other ppl will notice your choice and react based on that. Buying iphone is so much fail.

A Galaxy S3 with the latest version of android is so much much much better.
2863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Slashdot effect suck balls these days. on: August 16, 2012, 04:56:34 PM
Maybe "slashdot effect" was a name invented by slashdot to make them self-important, alà "we are so big and important that when we make an article, sites linked there go down due to so many visites"  Cheesy

2867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to old people on: August 15, 2012, 06:55:07 PM
Problem: they don't know what online, internet, email, scanning and emailing is. Not joking, they really don't know ANYTHING about computer. And, worst thing, they don't want to learn about it.

Who do you think bought the first generation of home PCs?  Who do you think was using bulletin boards and usenet before the www existed?  Who do you think was signing up for internet and mobile phone services back in the day when those were extremely expensive, buggy technologies?
The 0.01% of ppl or probably even less.

The other 99% even today don't know and don't want to learn how to properly use a computer. And when it stop working they call the friend "expert with the computer" or call the technician and pay

2869  Other / Meta / Re: Random "you're were banned for trolling" on: August 12, 2012, 02:11:34 PM
Yeah, you were just caught in someone else's ban. Often when I ban a user, I ban all of the IPs they've used.

I removed some of the banned IPs for that ban.
Are you joking am i right?

Do you realize that in Europe we use dynamic IP? Wich means everytime i restart the router i get a new IP? Banning the IP i have used would be not only epic useless, but harmful because some other will end up using them. So basically by IP banning you only harm other people.

Oh and yes, Europe exists. USA is not the only country in the world!
2870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I start working on a new blockchain?? on: August 11, 2012, 04:46:28 PM
Do you have an ATI graphic card? Did you create a worker on the slush account and put that username and password in guiminer?

2872  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Barriers to introducing people to bitcoin on: August 11, 2012, 03:27:26 PM
We don't need to convince anyone, first because often this just fail since it seems we are trying to scam them for our interest, second because well, we are not selling a product, if they need bitcoin then they will use it even if we don't try to convince them
2873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chase bank not feeling comfortable on: August 11, 2012, 03:21:09 PM
Are we sure mtgox can't sue them for all the idiocies they said?

2875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin mining help on: August 11, 2012, 11:30:53 AM
The best pool is of course p2pool but it is not so easy to setup if you also want namecoin merged mining (well not too hard anyway)

Slush is not bad too.
2876  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mining, a flawed concept coming home to roost? on: August 10, 2012, 10:03:13 PM
More people using p2pool is what we need
It's safe, it's easy to setup and give you moar btc (0 fees and you also get the transaction fees for each block)

And we have another noob comparing cpu with gpu, comparing bitcoin mining with things wich require tons of memory and super fast connections between cores...

The next comparison will be "omg a ferrari is better than a tir for hauling things: it goes much faster than the tir!"?
2878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quick Question on: August 09, 2012, 10:25:31 PM
Thanks for your replies guys Smiley So you all say that 0.2 BTC is what I had to have for running the miner for 24 hours in 210 Mhash/rating? Even if it was 300mhash I have had 0.25, which is not even close to 3 dollars  Undecided
Hi

Mining is not a get rich quick scheme.

2880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying homage to Pratyeka of Wikipedia for Bitcoin's inclusion. on: August 09, 2012, 03:02:53 PM
A great thanks to Pratyeka.  Grin And I'll probably donate less to wikipedia this year...

I stopped donating when they started deleting.   They have deleted a huge amount of interesting material since the rise of deletionism at Wikipedia.
+1 to both you
