Well that sucks, hardly used BTER and after all these hacks I'm just going to stick with well known exchanges (not that it guarantees they wont 'get hacked')

Nice paintings! Especially like the top one but it's a bit out of my price range

Surely this in in violation of international law? These spy agencies are really taking the piss...

If you can afford to, hold all your bitcoin. I've been gradually buying more and more over the last few months, best to think longterm and stop watching the daily price fluctuations.

Predicting a lengthy sentence, the US will likely want to make an example of him to deter future DPR's.

Seems to be getting worse: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/feb/19/nsa-gchq-sim-card-billions-cellphones-hacking"American and British spies hacked into the world’s largest sim card manufacturer in a move that gave them unfettered access to billions of cellphones around the globe and looks set to spark another international row into overreach by espionage agencies. The National Security Agency (NSA) and its British equivalent GCHQ hacked into Gemalto, a Netherlands sim card manufacturer, stealing encryption keys that allowed them to secretly monitor both voice calls and data, according to documents newly released by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden!.

Yeah in a nutshell, *uck paypal. Had over $2000 stolen from me due to chargebacks so I'd avoid using them if possible. If they so much as sniff anything bitcoin related, they'll limit your paypal account without any warning.

Forget mining and faucets, it's no longer feasible unless you have a lot of $$$ to buy mining hardware. Check out the services board and see what other users are offering to get an idea of what you can do to earn btc. In the meantime you could sign up for one of the sig campaigns, just try to not spam the boards too much

Wouldn't call them an asset by any means, though some of them can be quite funny. There are a lot of scammers aswell but I suppose that's to be expected on a forum like this. Not much we can do about either unfortunately.

Hmm would be good to hear from the dev to get some sort of clarification. I received all my RSU's....

Blockchain.info for your daily bitcoin spending, anything else should be kept in cold storage. Best practice is to not store any coin on exchanges or online wallets etc
Circle.com also deserves a mention, looks like they provide insurance on deposits but I'd still be reluctant to store too many btc there.

Do we have any circa relase date? I'm really currious how ebay, amazon etc will try to protect themselves from loosing customers, this bazaar is actualy really good idea!
I dont think amazon or ebay are at risk of losing customers to this market for awhile. It is going to take a particular type of consumer to shop at open bazaar rather than Amazon because of how easy it is to use. ehhh This is where you will be wrong. Look at ebay, most sales are from oversea stores. (Chinese traders). Amazon marketplace is more for domestic retailers. OpenBazzar will be adopted by Chinese ebay stores as their margin is already quite thin. The Ebay tax is way too high. Ebay better accept Bitcoin as payment soon in order to compete I've not been talking about openbazaar loosing customers but about ebay and amazon loosing them, and also loosing sellers cause of these sites fees. ALOT of them will SURE move to openbazaar as every % of fee = harder to profit. The problem with Ebay is that they got way too greedy overcharging their fees, though there are alternatives it seems like Ebay (currently) has a monopoly over auction marketplaces. Can't wait to start using Open Bazaar, I'd imagine they'll be a lot more business switching over to decentralized once they become more popular.

No thanks In some not-so-distant dystopian future they'll eventually make implants compulsory at birth, imagine they'll be an underground chip-removal-service for people wanted to get off 'the grid.'

Never had any problems with Localbitcoins, BTC-e is another decent exchange though it can be a bit of a pain transferring money depending on where you live. For trading alt currencies I usually go for Cryptsy or Bittrex (used to use Mintpal til they got hacked).

Haven't watched the video yet but I've have been thinking for a while that we need to establish digital rights. As we're spending more and more time online, we're giving away more information to the government and corporations without even considering how our online lives intrude and affect our real lives.
