Is not current Armory incompatible with LowS required by 0.11.1?

Is there another bug with 2.5.1? Now refusing to sync regardless of server selected.

Did you save your seed as advised before upgrading? Sounds like you will need to wipe and install fresh from seed.

Thanks for this. Interesting crowd sale for the B-Eleven, I may throw a few bitcoin in, already have an account at BW. Looks like there is a decent chance the hash could be sold at a profit once public trading begins January.

Ok so as lonng as I have my seed safe I can just uninstall and re-install and it will work again?
2.5.1 should just install over your old version fine. Accidents happen so you need to have your seed written down before upgrading. As long as you have the 12 word seed you can recreate your wallet at will.

trying to send coins and I am getting this message wtf does it mean? Reinstalling will not fix your problem; you can get more details at the Electrum board but you are going to have to upgrade your wallet to latest 2.5.1 version. You can find directions here. Make sure to write down your wallet seed before you upgrade!

I'm really looking forward to purchasing a Trezor ASAP, it seems like the best solution for storing my bitcoins at this point. Hardware / Cold-storage has been becoming increasingly interesting to me as my bitcoin stash continues to grow.
You will not regret purchasing a Trezor. The online user manual is one of the best I have ever seen. The only legitimate complaint I have ever read about Trezor is that no fully validating node wallet supports Trezor yet. But that is hardly the fault of SatoshiLabs and is an issue of privacy, not security. It would be cool to have an anodized aluminum case rather than plastic but that is esthetic not functional.

|
What we are working right now is to integrate TREZOR into multisig wallets such as Copay and this should be ready soon(tm).
Are you still having problems finding wallet developers that provide full node network access (for xpub privacy)? It seems like I can get really secure Bitcoins using a Trezor, as long as I don't mind trusting wallet service x's nodes with full account details. I really don't like the latter part, however good the former is. I suppose a workaround is to treat Trezor accounts as dispensable in the same way that ordinary addresses are. There's no upper limit on the amount of accounts that a single xpub can generate, right? I think your only option is to wait for Armory to support Trezor as they have promised to do. Bitcoin Core might but they move slower than Armory.

Can you guarantee no taint? What precautions are taken?

Dude trying to teach you how not to lose money on hosted mining is like talking to a brick. You are certainly free to piss your bitcoin away any way you choose, I try to help those who are sincerely interested in hosted mining protect their investment while making the best returns.

this is caused by the malleability issue. you have to upgrade to latest electrum version (2.5) please don't forget to report back if it worked.
I have a cold storage wallet on 1.9.8 as well. Unfortunately I'm not the most tech savvy individual. Could you possibly give me a brief description of how to upgrade correctly? I basically have an offline netbook I use with a watch only wallet on my online machine. Thanks in advance! Sorry I can't help you upgrade to a new cold storage solution using Electrum. I just wanted to retrieve bitcoin from 1.9.8 and transfer to Trezor. Go to your offline wallet and get the seed, write it down, then download 2.5.1 and install on your online computer. When asked choose the option to restore a wallet from seed. Enter your seed and proceed, it will take a while to sync but your correct balance should pop up. At this time I prefer to use myTrezor.com over Electrum. Since slush updated the backend myTrezor.com handles malleability properly and is fast. Thanks. So if I try to enter my 12 word seed from 1.9.8 into 2.5.1, it will accept it even though the new version takes a 13 word seed? Worked for me. What do you have to lose?

StartHash rates are higher than Hashnest. Go to the source instead and you will earn more and have the option to sell your hash at any time.

Remember the block halving is coming up next July. At that time unless bitcoin price is up to $500 level all contracts at Genesis Mining will no longer be profitable and will be cancelled. This is why it is imperative to only buy hashpower you can sell when you like.
Hashnest is not immune to the halving either. Just like UMISOO became unprofitable and contracts were cancelled, depending on bitcoin price the same thing can happen to S5 and yes even S7. You should never just buy hashpower and plan to hold forever, you will get a rude surprise.
All that is required to stay on top of your investment is to log into your Hashnest account and go to the built in charts under the history tab. Keep track of the trend for any hash you own. If price tops out and starts to trend down better sell your hash.
I keep track of such things for my readers. Right now I am long S5 hash only. Waiting for S7 price to come down before buying. If I see an urgent need to sell S5 I will send out an update.

Just had a problem signing a transaction with my offline Electrum 1.9.8 wallet. I created the transaction as usual in online watching only 1.9.8, took to offline wallet and signed the transaction. When I brought the transaction to the online wallet and tried to broadcast I got this error: ThomasV, what is going on here and how to fix please? I need to move bitcoin out of the cold storage wallet.

Like Genesis Mining the Mining Sweden outfit will not let you sell your hash. Once you own it you are stuck. Good enough reason to stay away.
Concerning Hashnest: S5 is the better buy than S7 at the moment. S5 hash is under priced while S7 is over priced and really not good value. Anyone who bought S5 last week when price bottomed out and started to trend up is showing a profit. They can sell their S5 hash at a profit and have earned mining income as a bonus. Be aware S5 is not a long term hold at all. At some point in the next few months price will top out and then decline, and you will want to cash out.
Based on current price and difficulty here are the numbers for S7 compared to S5:
--S5 hash would return 0.50% daily and the ROI would be 205 days --S7 hash would return 0.31% daily and the ROI would be 330 days
The real winners are the speculators who bought S7 miners to hash and have been gradually selling off their S7 hash at a nice 20% profit. I have told my readers not to consider buying S7 until price comes down to .0016 or better. No hurry to buy S7. If you plan to invest at Hashnest the smart move at present is to buy S5. You will need to watch the price and be ready to sell and move into S7 when the time is right.

Just ignore kwukduck he is a permabear. If you followed his advice you would have missed out on this leg up.

Speculators enjoyed a full week of selling S7 hash they bought during the pre-sale for a quick profit. Fair value is about .0016 and anyone buying S7 GHs for more than that is taking a rather large chance on a quick loss on paper that could take a long time to make up. Better to wait until the price bottoms out to buy.

|
|
Good luck with your new venture but those looking for a hardened laptop can always go to a discount outlet, pay in cash and install a linux distro with full disk encryption themselves.
|
|
|
Took a week but price of S7 GHs is crashing. S5 hash continues rise.
