The rewards will be fixed at 150K Lisk in year one for your delegate no matter how many votes you get.
150k max? didn't you say only two or three weeks ago that the reward could be up to seven figures annually?
I was referring to seven figures in dollars, depending on how many dollars one Lisk is worth.  The annual forging reward for a delegate is fixed at 150K for year one.  If Lisk becomes worth $7 per Lisk, then a delegate reward for year one will be Dr. Evil's One Million Dollars.  And a little change to buy a nice car.

After paying for all those server expenses, of course.
2862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 21, 2016, 04:04:28 PM
Great, thank you! If I'm a delegate, the rewards can go really high. My main goal is to give back to the Lisk community.

The rewards will not go really high.  The rewards will be fixed at 150K Lisk in year one for your delegate no matter how many votes you get.  The more and more people who vote for you, the smaller and smaller their share of that 150K is going to be.  The more successful you are at getting supporters, the more unhappy your supporters will be.

Yo, that's Lisk, baby.

150k max? didn't you say only two or three weeks ago that the reward could be up to seven figures annually?

lol yeah, at $10 a coin in the future  Grin Grin

each delegate will theoretically earn 150k lisk in a year.  What the value will be can be anyones guess.

Everyone in the 101 earns the same amount of lisk per year as long as the node is up 100% of the time.

If you are doing a Profit sharing Delegate where those who vote for you get a share of the lisk, that would mean that they are getting less and less as more and more start to vote for that delegate.
2863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 21, 2016, 03:48:52 PM
So how much money do users get from these delegates? If someone have 10,000 lisk how much is your share per month? If that is a good amount of $$ then very few people will sell.

Some people calculated that it will range from 10.000 to 250.000 a year so people will be scamming and scheming all over the place to get those spots.
Its a horrible Idea but none seems to care.

I care.  A lot.  I am trying my best to see that there are no sock puppets or scams in the mainnet by obtaining background information on testnet delegates.  I'm a snoopy, nosey guy that reads too many detective crime novels ( not to mention zerohedge.com )and so I have a natural suspicion about EVERYBODY.  Follow my efforts at the links below, and newer spreadsheets I will release for mainnet once Lisk is launched...

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bs7njoJwBTO31H2GJoWopNKKpAtggixsbZZiSIxQkRk/edit

Or maybe you're talking about the apparent high amounts of real money involved in being a delegate.   Hey, I have always advocated that Lisk be a zero-inflation, volunteer delegate coin.  But if there's money on the table, then I am going after my fair share.  That's why I am a testnet delegate to prove I can do the job, and why I hope to be a Active Delegate on mainnet.  Please vote for me!

Max wanted to motivate people to set up nodes to solve a non-participation problem at Crypti.  Well, the reward motivation structure he set up has solved that Crypti problem.  We've got  got over 1300+ Standby Delegates  trying to get a top 101 Active Delegate spot - and that's just on TESTNET.   I really wonder just how many of those 1300+ realize they've got to download and setup specialized delegate software on a VPS server with their own http://aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd address - and how many have actually done so?

When Max set up Lisk, he decided 4M Lisk was fair compensation for the two main Lisk devs.  He also decided that 150K Lisk or 3.75% of the Dev reward was also fair compensation to an individual for their work to secure the Lisk blockchain for its first year.   Just because the absolute numbers are apparently going to get very large doesn't mean that things are not going according to plan or have become a horrible idea.  It means that the intended motivation just gets that much stronger for 101 people to do a VERY good job in securing a coin blockchain worth hundreds of millions of dollars - the PRIME JOB of an Active Delegate.

why don't you just PM the people and ask them straight up?

why would he do that?  It's not him that has to show that everyone else is motivated.  It's up to YOU if you want to become a delegate to become proactive.  It's not Mals job to seek you out and see if you are ready for the challenge.

If anyone wanted a delegate spot all they had to do was hang out in the chat room every day and I guarantee you would have had a 101 delegate spot because you have been promoting and gaining support the whole time.

If you are complaining now then you are in the wrong.  EVERYONE had a chance to do this and it's nobody elses fault but your own if you do not get selected as a delegate. The first 2 weeks after the ICO there were literally less than 50 nodes up so ANYONE had a chance if they were interested in lisk enough.

just my 2 sat.

"by obtaining background information"

so ask and if it doesn't match up with the "background information" it's an indication that they may have something to hide.

i try hard not to see myself as merely a Lisk bag holder.

i worked on a node for two weeks using Phoenix1969's notes, Joel's Academy guide, Mal's 'cheat sheet', and i'm now preparing to try Phoenix's latest YouTube video. wish me luck ;-)

mal is doing a good job.  Better than I could do lol.  And remember, It's all VOLUNTEER work from him Cheesy

I think it would just end up being to hard trying to get real info from people on PM's. still no way to verify unless they send in ID's or something.

I don't think you will have to worry.  I'm sure you will make it as a delegate!

Over the past month, I'm not just sitting here twiddling my thumbs.  I'm keeping track of who I am going to vote for.
2864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 21, 2016, 03:42:28 PM
My name is Crilleaz and I am the owner of LiskFaucets.com. https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=414

I am here to become a delegate. My server is run via Vultr (WON'T use the $5 server when mainnet launches) to ensure the best possible uptime and quality and I am already optimizing the security. SSH keys, firewall and Fail2Ban to start with. I will do everything to ensure a safe environment for Lisk and will work with experts on this field, like wannabe (http://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=403).

What will I do with the funds I receive?
50% will go towards my faucets. It will be my way to give back to the community. Furthermore, 10% will be used for Lisk marketing on this forum. These funds will make it possible to give out higher rewards towards early supporters of Lisk.

Please vote for me now - on the testnet, and when the mainnet launches.

My delegate name is LiskFaucets. My address is 12596390308945516244L. Current rank: 1317.

what is your faucet?
sorry, i saw it. That is a good site. Will vote for you in mainnet.

Great, thank you! If I'm a delegate, the rewards can go really high. My main goal is to give back to the Lisk community.

Make sure to ask after mainnet launches for donations for your lisk faucet.  I'll donate some at that time.

What else do you people need to stop the scam accusations??  Do you even have a basis to those nonsense?

The golden rules of Bitcointalk:

1. If you own the investment, it will moon
2. If you own the investment and someone speaks unkind of it, they must be a troll or speaking FUD
3. If you own the investment and someone else doesn't, it must be a scam and you are a shill
4. If someone disagrees, they are not as intelligent
5. Childish behavior is part of the norm

Lots of money to be made if you can stomach it.

LOL.  Grin  Spot on
the unwritten book of the road.  exposed.

I miss ya old man.

Big Thanks to the people fighting FUD posts here.

If it wasn't for you, this thread would have turned into a Lisk Fudders lair.

Please keep on fighting!

How does Lisk plan to address the DPoS issue with exchanges that Bitshares is facing?

1. Exchange has a majority of Lisk
2. Exchange uses that voting power to stop voting yes on spending proposals?

Im too lazy to search for that answer.. It has been answered multiple timea already..

Its impossible..

vote power is for delegate authority only and not for what the funds are spent on.  Only Max and Oliver have power over the funds I think.

We dont--or at least, I dont--know anything about the team's marketing skills. If I were to judge based on the current logo, it wouldn't be good.

Hopefully they're smart enough to hire a good marketing team, which is probable.

...I'm just tired of the exaggerations within this thread

yes it is really silly thank god for lisk chat, just ridicilous what people say and the reactions afterwards. this thread makes lisk worth $1

then why are you here checking on the thread?  Go back to the chatroom and stop coming back here.

What I don't understand is everyone who complains about how stupid the thread is but you also keep coming back to say so.

are you a glutton for punishment or do you secretly love it.

don't you understand that your complaining is the other half of a shitty thread?  Just as annoying to me as my posts are to you.

Nonsense complaints

Without this thread the hype weakens.

He's telling someone who (if I am reading the OP correctly) thinks that this thread is so silly that it downgrades the price of lisk to only $1 dollar at launch, to get lost.

Apparently over 1000% isn't good enough hype for him  Roll Eyes

...people come back here because they want to discuss Lisk, not see retarded memes about vitalik and people being assholes to anyone who doesn't think 10,000% profit is guranteed (or even deserving).

This is crypto, lisk could be wildly successful or completely fail. It'd be nice to have that understood so we can get to more productive topics

I didn't tell him to disappear, just to go to a medium that he might feel is more suited for his "intelligence" level.

I doubt lisk will see even the slightest amount of mass-adoption with that logo.
But, of course, to each his own.

we can talk about mass adoption after bitcoin does it.

The dumps will be epic.

Once Devs get their hands on $7 million of ICO funds after launch for marketing fuel... GOOD LUCK finding Lisk under $2 then.

Why's that?

Because no matter how technologically advanced something is, if nobody knows about it then it is dead.

That's why major companies spend huge percentages of their profits on advertising.
2878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 20, 2016, 08:38:55 PM
people think what I did here was dumb but I bet my actions made MANY new people aware of LISK since the end of the ICO who are now FOMOing at the mouth for lisk.
Regular Non-Coder people still have money and uhhh that's the thing that raises the price of your investment.

I don't remember any particular username. I meant those who thought that the less BTC is invested - the larger ROI is waiting for them. It was stupid on several layers.
1. The whole idea is stupid. More ICO money = more ROI, not less.
2. The idea that their actions might possibly change anything and scare off people from investing is even more stupid. Megalomania of small people.
3. All they actually have done is helped keeping thread higher on the forum. That's it.

yup very nice free advertising

@max, any tracking available on that RPi3?
It's been a pretty long time and nothing's come to the mail.. I've received PunkRock's shirt already though

This thread is slowly being left behind, it would be best to contact him through the lisk.chat or the Lisk Forums.

Why is it being left behind?

It has become a thread of price speculation and barely any technical discussions going on.

Since our mission is the acceptance of the mainstream crowd, we feel the need to establish proper ways of communication through in-house applications.

We are more active in our Lisk Chat, where hundreds of users are actively helping each other and creating a vibrant community.

price speculators and trolls are also part of the community.

You can't have a true real world system if all you want are the nerds and say that the others are not part of the actual "community".

I wonder who do they think invested in the coin in the first place. And made the whole ICO success happen. I bet thousands of regular users, not a few whales that came with the wave. Also trolls kept the thread always on top of the forum. And especially those dummies who were trying to convince everybody during ICO that Lisk is overpriced but instead were raising more and more attention to Lisk Smiley
