2861  Economy / Economics / Re: Confirmed NGN banks blocking account, what could be the outcome on the economy? on: February 15, 2021, 07:16:49 AM
That was expected to happen since Nigeria has decided to ban bitcoin and other crypto related activities! So people will have their funds frozen, they will face legal actions and some of them will end up in jail! That's how a failed government would want to do while they can't create any new opportunities. India will soon see similar things happening as Indian government has also decided to impose a blanket ban on crypto related activities. This is the mentality of dictatorship around the world.

It's sad to see that governments consider bitcoin as a threat rather than an opportunity. That's the problem with politicians and policy makers because they are under huge pressure from the banking lobby. It makes no sense but still it is happening! Some more regressive countries will soon be added to this list in 2021.
2862  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: "BTC giveaway" scamming sites get mind boggling BTC inflows... on: February 14, 2021, 08:57:02 PM
tesla-prizes.com, gets promoted by twitter spam

domain registered 2021-02-12 (2 day ago), the address has been receiving BTC since 2021-02-04 (10 days)

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1B2YDoqkmaki9yhrm1Pi4CV5YjEZ5DwAM9

received 10.66BTC so far ...

Lol! I wonder how people can be so stupid! Even though I didn't see this spam in Twitter (even after being very active in bitcoin related tweets), but still I wonder how people are falling pray for such scams! 10.66 BTC is a huge amount. I can live the rest of my life with this amount of money. It's true that stupidity has no limit indeed.

2863  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulation of price will decrease soon? on: February 14, 2021, 04:45:22 PM
Recently, we have seen lots of institutional fund to come in the market. Tesla have invested and possibly soon we will see rich people are using BTC as store of value. As the days go, we see the mcap is increasing. When it will increase more, what do you think, will the price manipulation be decreased? Or even effected? If we look at the Tesla announcement, it didn’t create huge changes. India may have a ban on crypto, that doesn’t effect the market. So, as we see the increase in mcap, will we see power of manipulation is decreasing?

With the billions of dollars worth institutional money flowing into bitcoin, I expect to see decrease in manipulation by whales! However, whales are whales for a reason. They will probably move to other less known liquid cryptocurrencies to continue with their manipulation game and will continue to earn money. In essence, the method will not change but just the field will be changed.

However, with institutional money, more and more bitcoins will be locked out and taken away from supply. Not sure what kind of issues it will bring in! But the control should not be passed to the corporates! That might create big issues for us!
2864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tucker vs Chase Bank USA (Chase caught scamming again) on: February 12, 2021, 05:03:33 PM
If you remember the market crash back in 2018, then you will understand why Chase pull up such malpractices! It's great that law stood by the right side and didn't give up in front of the banking lobby! Jemie was super hostile about bitcoin back in 2017 and 2018 which probably have resulted such malpractices from Chase! Now they are learning their lessons and slowly started showing positivity towards it.

Congrats for the free money anyway!
2865  Economy / Economics / Re: In crypto everybody pay high tx fee, no matter rich or poor people on: February 12, 2021, 11:42:24 AM
If you own 1000 ETH, you pay 10 ETH in fee for fast speed transaction, if you own 100 ETH you pay 1 ETH fee, if you own 10 ETH you pay 0.1 ETH.

In stock market, poor people pay the highest trading fee, where rich people pay low trading fee, 401k probably paid zero trading fee because they own the brokering market, yup, stock market benefit rich people and punish poor people on trading fee alone.

Lol! Since when ETH transaction fees are fixed on a percentage? It entirely depends on the network. So there's no guarantee that everyone is paying same fees! You can indeed set a manual fee for your transaction. But if the fee is too low the transaction may not get confirmed.

Also it is not correct to compare a regulated stock market with a decentralized digital currency system. In stock market, brokers act as a middleman and they decide the fees dor each one of us! In ETH, no one other than the network controls the transactions and fees! The miners can't have manual preferences! These are the basics bro!
2866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: shittiest soft ware ever!! on: February 12, 2021, 06:38:19 AM
Am I the only one that noticed that all the casinos that are run by softswiss choose to not show you the terms while making a deposit and then they end up not working. whatsup with that. Those specific casinos always end up scamming you for their money. The one time I finally win something my withdrawal is declined because some type of bullshit in the terms. do you guys think this is some way of them trying to scam all their players?

Can you please let us know the name of the specific casino? I mean ranting doesn't always help to identify the real issue! But it is best to talk about the specific issue that you have faced. It also helps to create awareness!

Which casino? How much you have lost? What is the response given by their support?

Let us know these to better identify the issue and possibly help to remediate.
2867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin consumes 'more electricity than Argentina' on: February 11, 2021, 02:13:47 PM
There are two ways to look at this information. Let me explain!

First way:
OMG! it's a sheer wastage of electricity. People are burning electricity for a coin which doesn't physically. The environment is getting impacted so badly as well. I will raise my voice to stop bitcoin mining at once and create awareness against it!

Now the second  way:
It's great to see that bitcoin has gained this much popularity. It's great to see that it is helping people financially and paving a way towards surveillance free economy. I will create awareness about bitcoin so that the adoption grows!

Now you have to choose which side you want to be!
2868  Economy / Economics / Re: Many Questions about cbdc and how we know its Fair? on: February 11, 2021, 01:31:17 PM
CBDCs will be nothing out of the box. If you are using plastic cards and online banking transactions today, your user experience will not change with CBDC. It will just be a digital representation of the same fiat currency. So if a $2 fiat bill can allow you to purchase a McDonald's burger, a digital $2 bill will allow you to do the same!

The entire system and supply will be controlled by the government so the chance of abuse is very less! Cash still has a certain degree of anonymity but with CBDC, your entire finance will be visible to the government. It is an ultimate surveillance toll governments around the world are planning to implement!
2869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 11, 2021, 11:52:42 AM
Well, it's a basic of any sports betting or even in any other events of your life as well! Assume you are a software engineer and you have been asked to handle the job of a police commissioner of the city! Your struggle will be endless! Same goes for sports betting as well!

Every gambler needs to understand the sports they are betting on. Otherwise, the end result will be disastrous! If you don't understand cricket, don't bet on it! As simple as that! Knoqing the sport well, definitely increases your chance of winning!
2870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Will Crypto Regulation In South Africa Work Compared To Other Countries on: February 11, 2021, 08:24:23 AM
Cryptocurrency is one of the fatest growing industries out there - with new coins and tokens meeting daily needs everyday!

With this being said, local governments and banks are not too fond of this idea - thus regulations have been put in place.

How will these regulations set in other countries affect crypto in South Africa? https://4king.com/how-will-crypto-regulation-in-south-africa-work-compared-to-other-countries/

Lol! The tax authority in SA is known as SARS! That's funny!

However, from the article I just read, the regulations make sense! They are not considering cryptocurrencies as properties or currency. Rather they are considering it as an asset. However, the FIFO method is somewhat difficult from accounting perspective. But with proper justification in place, I hope the confusions will be cleared. Overall the structure looks good.

The best part is that SA is at least regulating the crypto market rather than a blanket ban! That's a positive!
2871  Economy / Economics / Re: I wamt to know everybody know that collapse amd finamcial crash coming on: February 10, 2021, 07:25:01 PM
Dollar stays or goes ? If dollar will go away i will sell all my usdc dai and usdt today.

So eur currency stay or it goes ?

Nothing goes! Everything will remain as it is! Just their purchasing power will go down due to inflation and devaluation.

Quote
Okay fiat is in danger yes its fine what about bitcoin ?
In big crash btc value goes  ?? Up or down?

Lol! It's a propaganda! During a financial crash, every fiat currency will be devalued so bitcoin will possibly go up!

Quote
So exacly what is going to happened.
We dont want bad surprises i want to be sure that im prepared if  they are going to use stable couns then wich  ??

We all want to know this !!
Here is oeople who knows but they dont tell us ....
Former bankers finamce or goverment people tell us plz.
Or get out of this forum if u dont help your fellow forum users

Chill dude! The world is not going to end during a financial crash. No one knows anything. The fiat currency gets devalued over time. If you are able to buy a McDonald's burger at $2 today, after 5 years the same burger will probably cost you $5. That's inflation due to which the purchasing power of a currency goes down! Take a break and drink up!
2872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: FreeWallet locked even Elon Musk. I still don't trust them. on: February 10, 2021, 04:53:51 PM
This incident should act as an eye opener to all whoever holds their coins to online account providers like coinbase or freewallet etc. I see they have unlocked Elon's account just after a tweet but imagine if it was any XYZ person! Probably it would have taken him a lifetime to unlock the account.

Cryptocurrency was introduced to remove the middleman from any financial transaction. Online wallets are the middlemen here which must be removed at all costs! Not your keys, not your crypto!
2873  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I have been scammed 0.20 btc, what can I do? on: February 10, 2021, 04:59:48 AM
I only have his Btc wallet number and his telegram nothing else.

can I do something reporting it to the police?

Will binance help me identify that person after I have sent the money?

thanks

You can take several steps but none if these steps will help you to recover your funds! Binance can't do anything! Telegram can ban the person and then the person can come back using a different name and create a different group. You can report to police but if that person belongs to your local area, police can't do anything either!

So, that's one of the disadvantages of trustless currency systems! Forget about it and make sure you don't pay money for such unverified information going forward!
2874  Economy / Economics / Re: Economist predicts demise of global central banks on: February 09, 2021, 04:58:02 PM
Major benefit of cryptocurrency = no need of a middle man. Money can directly send from person A to person B.

Why we need banks = being the middle man of any transaction. Banks control the transaction and debit from person A and credit to person B while keeping the entire amount with themselves.

So no wonder why banking sector is pushing hard and lobbying against cryptocurrency globally. However, there are some banks with visionary leaders who understand that banking needs to adopt the change and started acting accordingly! What I foresee, is a revamped banking system to emerge!
2875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: (WallStreetBets) Tesla is now on top in CMC on: February 09, 2021, 02:04:29 PM
Both "Wallstreetbets" and "Teslacoin" are joke by CMC!

No need to take these seriously! The initial wallstreetbets joke was introduced to mimic the "Gametop" share surge incident and now CMC has decided to go ahead with Tesla as well!

CMC is also promoting their Alexandria platform through such jokes! Chill!
2876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice - Daily Story on: February 09, 2021, 12:37:29 PM
Started with $3 with over 50. First roll was a win and second loss, third is a loss. This led to try martingale. Increased the bet value to $6. Once again loss, increased to $12, once again loss. Increased to $24, again a loss, increased to $48, again a loss. Finally went for $96, and won. Now once again started rolled for $3 and ended my day's gambling with a win.

It's great to hear that martingale worked for you! I mostly play crash games which is somewhat similar in nature but just a different wining method and interface. I tried Martingale quite a few times but the result was disastrous for me! I lost almost everytime except one or two instances! Overall, I try to keep a set amount of money for gambling every weekend as I am a weekend gambler. Once that money is finished, I don't go back to gambling for the entire day! So I have a risk limit and I don't go beyond that limit. Unfortunately, I had very few days where I ended with profit! For me it's always better to trade than gamble!
2877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's not a good rise, actually it's bad on: February 09, 2021, 06:09:07 AM
I like the ambitions that Elon Musk has and the charisma that he carries but what's happening right now is very bad. One man has a huge influence on everything, one word of Elon Musk can destroy or rise the things like Phoenix. Tesla invested in Bitcoins and price went from 38K up to 44K in just some hours. Yeah, if Paypal, Visa or any other company bought bitcoin that would happen too but what happens around Musk is very different.
Elon Musk says that Signal is better and everyone moves on that.
Elon Musk says that Doge is a good coin and everyone invest.
Elon Musk says that Bitcoin is a good thing and it rises.
Elon Musk's company invests in bitcoin and it rises.

What if Elon Musk said that he changed his mind and today bitcoin is bad and Ripple is better? I'm saying that just for example. People can't think themselves, they think: If Elon Musk says that something is good, then it's good.

I don't think it's a healthy behaviour from people.

Can't agree more! While 1.5 billion worth of liquidity is good enough to push the ptice to the next level but the influence of one person over the bitcoin price is not really desirable! If one man can build this type of momentum which is known as "decentralized"! That one man can destroy it as well at the same time!

In an ideal decentralized network, cumulative decision or influence should matter! But it's clearly not the case!
2878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria government did not ban bitcoin on: February 08, 2021, 03:13:18 PM
Lol! Is it anyway better than a blanket ban?? India took a similar step 2 years ago which was eventually taken to the Supreme Court and eventually we got it lifted! But I believe banking ban is as good as a blanket ban because traders will not have any option to cash them out and it's very difficult to use bitcoin as a payment method for your daily purchases!

These kind of ban actually create a lof of confusion and legal loopholes which eventually increase the risk.
2879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla buys $1.5 billion in Bitcoin on: February 08, 2021, 01:49:37 PM
That's huge! The market has started responding to it and we are seeing 43 grand at this moment! Wow! 1.5 billion USD is a huge amount of investment and I believe 50 grand we can easily expect to see in a short while! We are on the right track! I am sure more and more cash rich companies will soon join the bitcoin bandwagon to make it even bigger!
2880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Government Rules Mean No More Gambling Sponsorship on: February 08, 2021, 11:26:15 AM
Is it going to affect the crypto gambling in any way? I don't think so! This type of ban will possibly impact the fiat gambling operators and also the football clubs will be impacted because one Avenue of their cash flow will be stopped!

Also this is for European clubs only and football is a global game in all true senses! Gambling companies will gind new market to expand if EU bans them from advertising through EU football teams! When one door shuts, another one opens!
