The thing that you are looking at when you look 3 miles from a height of 6 feet is the water line. At the distance of almost 3 miles you see the whole ship except what is under the water. Depending on the height of the topmost part of the ship, you can see the top several more miles out as it descends over the horizon. If the water was invisible, and if there was no refraction of either water or atmosphere, you would be able to see the whole ship through the water, and the horizon wouldn't be apparent. Ross Ulbricht Defense Files Reply in Court Appeal, Disputes Fairness of Trial Ross Ulbricht's legal defense filed a reply to the government as part of his appeal this week. On behalf of Ulbricht, who was sentenced to double life in prison without parole for operating the Silk Road dark marketplace under the alias Dread Pirate Roberts (DPR) more than a year ago, attorney Joshua Dratel disputes the fairness of the trial. The defense has requested that Ulbricht's "convictions should be vacated, and a new trial ordered, or that he be re-sentenced before a different district judge."
Ulbricht's defense had issued an initial appeal earlier this year, which was answered by state prosecutors in late May. This week, the defense responded to these answers in a brief submitted to the appellate court, hoping to prove — most importantly — that Ulbricht's Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights were violated.
To learn more about the appeal, Bitcoin Magazine reached out to Ulbricht's mother, Lyn Ulbricht, who's been fighting for her son's rights ever since he was arrested in October of 2013.
Right to a Fair Trial
The overriding issue in the appeal is Ulbricht's right to a fair trial and right to present a defense, as established by the Fifth and Sixth amendments to the United States Constitution. Ulbricht's defense maintains that these rights were denied to Ulbricht. Most importantly — but not exclusively — as evidence pertaining to corrupt agents involved in the case was not allowed to be brought forth in court.
This evidence, most importantly concerns special agents Carl Mark Force IV and Shawn Bridges, both of whom confessed to corruption and are currently serving time in prison. State prosecutors were aware of both these cases at the time of Ulbricht's trial. One of them was also known to the Ulbricht defense at the time, while the other was not — a deliberate non-disclosure, according to Ulbricht's defense.
As such, the court denied Ulbricht's defense the opportunity to inform the jury about both corrupt agents along with all related information potentially relevant to the case, which Ulbricht's defense maintains is illegal as per the Brady Rule.

Honestly, I have no clear cut answer to the issue of terrorism. Jihadists seem to be irrationally bent on killing people and they are not interested in a truce.
The closest answer to terrorism is, let everybody carry and wear guns. This way, if terrorists attack, there is a chance that some of the people can save themselves. When the terrorists find out that the people are ready to defend themselves, they will be less likely to attack; they fear death most of the time just like everybody else. Sure, there will be mistakes made. There will be some injury and death from friendly fire. But when the terrorists realize that the people mean business, they will go away, and the crooks and criminals right along with them. Wearing guns, and using them at the right time, means peace. |

These listed parts of founding documents show that the people never were under USA government rule except by contract, when we contract. It is a transfer of property form. This is what the birth certificate is... a UCC-1 transfer of property. When you were born, one of your parents - usually the mother - signed the birth certificate for you, thereby transferring you to ownership by government. Now that you are of age, any time that you stand up as a man/woman in the face of government (usually in court... when you are not represented, but rather, present) you take back the ownership of yourself temporarily. It is common law stuff, and some of it dates back to trusts from hundreds of years ago in England. This stuff was adopted by the people at the time of the formation of government in the USA, and it still stands though we as individual people barely know any of it. This is entirely different from Democracy. It is rule by the people in freedom, as long as we don't hurt anyone else. The democracy part enters into how government operates a bit. It doesn't have anything to do with us when we make our will know outside of the trust ownership of government that came about through our birth certificates. The birth certificate is the biggest curse on the freedom of the people of America that there is. |
