2881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 10th on: September 03, 2021, 01:54:37 PM
^^ I'm just confused though, I thought that it will be an automatic postponement once you are caught with a ban substance. Maybe it depends on the severity, on what drugs are found in your system. And probably because of the money involved to set up this fight, the fight is very near, we know that boxing is business so the money involved must have been taken into consideration.
2882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: September 03, 2021, 01:32:53 AM
After watching Anderson Silva vs. Tito Ortiz Press Conference I decided to bet on Tito Ortiz. Yeah, I know about the odds, he's the underdog, I know. But this guy is so ready, he's so excited about the upcoming fight. And when I'm saying "ready", I mean he's ready to lose too, and that's what counts a lot imo.

I hate risking a lot of money, so I placed just $2 on Tito

and still with those odds my potential win looks pretty good. And no way I will cash out $1.80, no. I'm rooting for Tito!  Cool

Goodluck mate on your Tito Ortiz bet.

But I still stick with Anderson here, I mean he just won a boxing match and probably learn a lot of lessons from there and he could improved a lot. So probably another unanimous decision for him as Tito might get exhausted.

As compare to Tito who hasn't box, and even in MMA is stand up is just average and his chin is not that tough anymore as it has been broken many times already.

To be honest I should have deleted this seed from the cloud. I saved it in June 2017 and I completely forgot about it. This was the very first time I have ever used crypto. I guess it's a way to learn a lesson. The 1 million dollar question is if there is any way to recover. I know it is not possible, just asking...mostly out of desperation

I'm sorry to burst the bubble for you but there's no way to get back your money. Probably the hackers have been using mixer to obfuscate their foot prints in the blockchain.

Expensive lessons here and I do hope that many members here will learn from the OP experience and not repeat the mistakes of using public wifi or cloud storage to hide your sensitive data.

@SFR10 - thanks for digging up regarding the statute of limitations between the two nations, so it's different, but if they are going to be tried in the US then their law supersede that of the UK. But still this needs to be define from the very start.

@Kong Hey Pakboy - better check who the mods of this board (not sure who he is, or if we have mods here) as to why your post is deleted.
2885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 02, 2021, 10:15:20 PM

Back in Rockets, he also plays a big role why Rockets always end up in a good position every season but the team just lacks at the playoffs run.

With Hawks, I think that was the first time Capela first experience playing in the Conference Finals. Now with a much competitive Eastern Conference, the battle will be more tough and difficult as some teams are working on their lineup improvement.

I want to see them at ECF again but not expecting.

One of the players I'm looking to see play in the NBA next season if he stayed in the Houston Rockets, they would have become a major contender in the NBA finals but whichever team he goes, he still gives his team the best he can do to make it to the playoffs. The Atlanta Hawks have some great players playing with him that will lead the team to be in the Playoffs again this upcoming season.

The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone.  They weren't going anywhere and Clint wasn't going to help them go deep into the playoffs.  He actually is a perfect fit on that team.  Think the Hawks are gonna be good for a long time they got a good squad building up over there.

No, when they dumped him, they still have Harden and Westbrook, so not yet in a rebuild phase but a experiment, fast running team with those two and then PJ Tucker as center, a system experimented by Coach Mike D. But it didn't work, so obviously, Harden and Westbrook are gone and now they are in the rebuilding phase with one of the best rookies, Jalen Green.
2886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative ways to make money without trading cryptocurrency on: September 02, 2021, 03:02:26 AM
The problem with cryptocurrency trading is that it is very difficult for a beginner to master. These days, there are many alternative methods of making money from cryptocurrency. I found an article on Boxer about as many as 5 ways to make money from cryptocurrency ( I will leave the link below) I would like to read how you feel about it, can you share your experience, thanks in advance Smiley https://blockster.com/blockdesk/1448_5-alternative-ways-to-make-money-without-trading-in-crypto

So far Yield farming and play to earn are two of the favorites because if you looked on the market, those Yield farming and play to earn tokens are trending and their tokens are going up, and there's a lot of Yield farming and Play to earn launching, this trend will continue because they serve two leading markets, gamers and those who want to profit from doing nothing.

I might be old for the play to earn, but I think this trend will continue for the next years or so because anyone can really go and play and literally make money out of it.

So yeah, I might try this one or have someone play for me, so amongst the list, I would say that this is the best one. Maybe you can do this without any capital to begin with.
2887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Warrington vs Lara II -Sept 4 on: September 02, 2021, 01:45:54 AM
we can see that even josh lost to mauricio last time they met inside the ring, josh is still favoured by bookies though the gap is not that wide. can josh redeem himself this time or will be the same result? am certain, josh did prepare on this fight because if he wants redemption. but we can never underestimate the prep of lara as well.

Yes, it's because Josh he still has the tools to beat Lara. The problem in the first fight is that he goes there thinking he can overpower Lara in the first couple of rounds. But that dude is durable, he take every shots and then give some as well.

Lara is the typical Mexican that you can find out there, willing to sacrifice his face, like Antonio Margarito because they have a very touch chin. And it was a rude awaking for Josh, Mauricio took his soul and take his 0.

So this time I think Warrington has learn his lessons on the first fight and won't go bang in the first couple of minutes and will use his jab to score points every round.

Maybe, but once he taste that power again, he will see flashback of him getting hit and knock out on the canvass. It will be a hard fight for Josh more than Lara here as he has to prove that he can get back again.
2888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 02, 2021, 01:15:36 AM

Possibly could get it a little better but his shooting mechanics are terrible.  Dude is a good player on a good team that's the extent.  His vision rebounding and other basketball skills are definately plus.  If the kid could shoot he'd be a top 10 talent in the league.  Got the height to crush other guards.  Hope he figures it out

The free throw is the only problem, in terms of defense, he is very effective and he also has a good vision in the court as he has a good record on the assist. He is still young, I believe he will be able to develop his shooting, not necessarily to shoot 3s but his free throw has to be developed as he is aggressive on the floor and he can go inside the basket.

But to be a complete NBA player in today's era, you really need to shot outside including beyond the arc.  In terms of assists, again we can talk about Magic and Stockton, those two are good free throw shooters as well, so not just in assists department. Yeah, still young but he should developed by now, he has been in the NBA already, but today standards it seems that he is going backward. He is aggressive so chances are he is going to be fouled and sent to the free throws and then makes 1 out 2 or worst miss both.
2889  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Man Robbed of 16 Bitcoin Sues Young Thieves’ Parents on: September 02, 2021, 12:36:13 AM
I'm not sure how effective it might be.

Despite the evidence that he has, circumstantial evidence simply won't hold up in a court of law, so it really depends whether his case is strong enough.

I think he has enough evidence to really pin the kids or their parents in this case. But the problem is the statue of limitations, since this is UK-US involvement, it's hard to see how the court will see merit on their defense.

Also I'd be interested to see whether or not the court would uphold a debt in bitcoin terms or fiat terms. This could make a huge difference, seeing that BTC has skyrocketed since the time they stole the funds.

For sure it will be the amount of fiat during the time of the crime. Or if the family has still those bitcoin (which I doubt), then they can pay with it.
2890  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think this is the last four year cycle? on: September 01, 2021, 05:13:13 AM
Do you think from this point forward price will not correlate with the halving?
I mean that the effect of the "halving pump" is over and has not become as effective as it was in the past as the price will not be associated with a significant increase after a year from the last rise.

Could be, but bitcoin market is fairly young so we can't really correlate any data to say that the "halving pump" will be over.

Personally, I think we will have two super cycles of bull run as oppose to one four year cycle.

Market is evolving and so is the pattern.
2891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware, Cybercrime and Monero – Is the Bad Reputation Justified? on: September 01, 2021, 02:15:05 AM
Most cryptocurrencies are not as anonymous as some people would like them to be. After the hack on Colonial Pipeline where attackers demanded to be paid the ransom in Bitcoin, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) could trace the transactions on Bitcoin’s blockchain.

Yes, but if the hackers are smart enough, they could used mixing services and hide their tracks in the blockchain.

And regarding the bad reputation, it's not justified in my opinion. Crypto isn't built to work this way, it's that this criminals have taken advantage of it. But as you can see, even fiat is being used by criminals so there's no difference at all. Government are just using this excuse to come and put their hammer on crypto specially on Monero.
2892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 10th on: September 01, 2021, 01:32:50 AM
It is looking likely that this fight will get cancelled. Valdez tested positive for the stimulant phentermine. It was out of competition so the local boxing commission doesn't necessarily have to suspend him but he will probably lose his world title since he is being tested as part of the WBC Clean Boxing Program.

That's weird, I thought that this drug is being used to lose weight, but in his last fight against Miguel Berchelt, he is going up in weight.

Another thing is that how his team let him take this drugs when they know the consequences of it. And now that he is stripped of the world title, he is back to square one again and all of his previous fights will be tainted with allegations.

Yeah, but it could be used as a masking agent, to hide other peds in your system.

Quote
Oscar Valdez has failed a VADA test ahead of his planned Sept. 10 fight against Robson Conceicao, with Mike Coppinger reporting that the WBC junior lightweight titlist tested positive for a diuretic.

While diuretics are not steroids, they are familiar to the boxing world and to failed drug tests in the boxing world, as they can help fighters shed weight quickly ahead of a bout. But the biggest worry about them is they can be used as a masking agent for other substances, stuff more routinely thought of when people think of failed drug tests.

https://www.badlefthook.com/2021/8/31/22651015/oscar-valdez-tests-positive-banned-diuretic-next-fight-conceicao-boxing-news-2021

I also can't believed that Valdez and or his team did take the risk of taking this banned substance because they will be caught specially the stringent drug testing is being implement not just in boxing but across other sports.
2893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - Aug 14 on: September 01, 2021, 12:55:24 AM
is he afraid that he might lose in their second fight?

For me this is the single reason why he doesn't want to give Loma a second fight. He knows deep inside that he beat a injured Loma, as we can see in the fight, Loma is not throwing enough punches because he is nursing a injury. He even tells Loma to go back to 130 lbs.

And we all know that Lopez is acting like a dick after getting all the belts and now feels that he is the pound for pound.

Or eventually, when the price is right, these two may have a rematch. For now, Lopez has its own reason not giving Loma a chance to fight back. The weight of afraid losing is more likely true. You mentioned it wasn't a 100% Loma back then and if Lopez give him a chance, Loma will force it and try snatching the win.

It's between them and how the fans will call for this rematch still open, especially if there is more money that will be involved in this negotiation.

Yeah, eventually when Lopez wanted to price himself and milk fight that involves him, why not go for a rematch with Loma.

Fans can also voice out their opinion, but then again a fighter with Lopez ego? I don't think he will listen to those fans. He is so brandish that he thinks he is the A-side already and the next cash cow of boxing. And I wouldn't be surprised if he bolted away from Top Rank in the next coming years.
2894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto will rival or replace crypto in 10 years? on: September 01, 2021, 12:17:19 AM
76% of finance professionals believe that digital assets “will serve as a strong alternative to, or outright replacement for, fiat currencies in the next 5-10 years,” according to Deloitte’s annual global blockchain survey.

Is there any possibility that this could happen or this was just another speculation that is impossible to believe, but if we are going to look at the percentage of finance professionals that believe on the possible replacement of fiat with digital assets I think we are in 90% basis in favor of rival or replacement of fiat. Show me your comments about this news guys if you believe or not with this possible replacement?
There is no need to replace fiat to digital crypto currency, I think it is more good when we can choose both fiat or crypto it depends on us on what we want or what we select if we wanted crypto then we used crypto of we wanted fiat then we used fiat isn't that amazing?.

This argument has been going for so long now, of course we love to see crypto being adopted, but no, it won't replace fiat by any sense. And I will echo the sentiments, crypto is more of an alternative to us, so there's no need to replace anyone here. The best thing right now that crypto gives to us, is that we have options and it will give us financial freedom and of course generate profit as well.
2895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 31, 2021, 01:05:26 PM
^ There were rumors that Ben will be traded on Sacramento, I guess that didn't materialized as well.

But if a scenario that Simmons will not get traded because the Sixers can't find a suitor for him, it might be worst for him to play again in the Sixers jersey. There is already a friction, so it will make it more worst for him and the team. But yes, doesn't make sense for Portland to trade their franchise player, one on one, they could ask for more, but are the Sixers willing to give? Only Joel will be protected, the rest can be traded with Simmons.
2896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next US president pro-bitcoin? on: August 31, 2021, 03:28:28 AM
What would happen if someone, lets say Bob. Goes out and says "We got a problem. Previous governments have been doing too much QE. Inflation is going wild. We will now adopt Bitcoin as legal tender."

Would Bob get elected? Or would majority of people not like Bob?

I don't think that bitcoin will tip the tide for any presidential candidate, yeah good that one of his platform is to adopt legal tender. But there could be some opposition against it in the US. So not a sure fire platform for anyone. So 50/50, others might like it, and others don't. And US being a superpower, I doubt that they are going to adopt bitcoin as legal tender, for them dollar is still the world currency.
2897  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria leads sub-Saharan Africa’s P2P bitcoin trade on: August 29, 2021, 03:46:19 AM
I hope the government of Nigeria has been made aware of this so that they will realize that they are actually not in a good position to partially ban the cryptocurrency in the country.

Even if they get aware of it, I doubt that they will made a U-turn, on the contrary, they might get stricter by the day.

Bitcoin is designed for P2P transactions. And as an antagonist of Bitcoin, Nigeria is actually fulfilling the goal of Bitcoin. The government could remain adamant in the face of what appears to be a futile action against Bitcoin or acknowledge it as a rising technology and start regulating and taxing related transactions with financial institutions.

I agree, and it's borderless as well, so I don't know how the government are going to counter it, unless they've change their mind, regulate it and put a tax on it. It's better that way, I believed, still a win-win for Nigeria's crypto enthusiast.
2898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥶 Winter Beijin 2022 🥶 Discussion and bet thread 🥶 Winter Game 🥶 on: August 29, 2021, 03:19:31 AM
just curious, which country is usually a strong contender in the Winter Olympics and what sport they usually dominate? I don't really follow it since most of the sport that are in the winter Olympics is usually not well known in my country and my country hasn't really participated that much in it so my interest in the event is not that great(no offense to the huge fans of The Winter Olympic) compare to the Summer Olympics.

Still USA, they dominate the winter Olympics as well.

I'm not usually in Winter Olympics, but when I was in Canada many years ago, I started to watch the Olympics and there are sports that I don't know personally, like the curling, Lol. It was really a good experience to see how this sports are being played.  Grin

And then there was this movie "Men in Broom", a romantic comedy about this sports.

Still very exciting games, same with the Summer games, but obviously, not all countries can join the winter olympics.
2899  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Bull Attempts to Break $50,000 - A Psychological Hurdle as well as The Next on: August 28, 2021, 09:16:45 PM
Bitcoin price continued to rise and managed to break through the $50,000 level. This upward trend is expected to continue and potentially touch the $100,000 level this year. Bitcoin continues to show a positive trend has passed its key psychological level, at $50,000, which marks a strong dominance of investor interest. Is it really going back in Bearish, or will it be a minor correction after crossing $50,000. All of that is a confirmation priority for us, by sticking to bitcoin's strong fundamentals over the long term.
We enter into bullish zone and these dumps are the correction. Bitcoin is trading between $47K~$49K for a while. There is a heavy selling pressure, despite that $49K momentum good sign to see further move. Bitcoin market is turning into green, this weekend is going to be massive. As per market a analysis it will goes to 50k shortly.

I wouldn't call this dump though, just the normal dips during weekend as trader are cashing out for their two days rest, and taking profits. We have entered bullish zone once we goes above that lowest low for this year which is about $29k. And there's no heavy pressure to sell right now as everyone is anticipating another run to $50k-60k up to September. But it won't be an easy sailing as we will encounter this minor dips along the way.
2900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the right time to buy Neo on: August 28, 2021, 04:48:32 AM
Not to burst the bubble for you guys, but at I think NEO has been left behind by many and new emerging crypto.

If this is 2017, then I would say yes, it has a chance to be a good coin to invest, but fast forward 2021 the hype has died down, investors are no longer interesting, their marketing strategy is poor and their roadmaps are still below as compare to the fast emerging crypto landscape.
