What do you guys think would happen to altcoins in such a scenario? I'm curious, because I'm all in on StableCoin  Altcoins are vessels to mine and dump. Probably there will always be altcoins since people like trading. I do believe many will go out of existence and new ones will be created. Only a few altcoins will remain like Litecoin, probably the ones with good devs, marketing and adoption by consumer services. Mucus, we are all still early adopters. There are 7,000,000,000 people ... and if only 1% of them will use it then bitcoin price will go 100 times higher.
Here is the thing, we aren't adopters at all, just speculators. The people who actually use Bitcoins for something else are just a handful of people. Next, the gini coefficient of Bitcoin is higher than in any country, and it shows no sign of coming down. To the contrary, it went up even further. Oh and countries with a high gini coefficient usually have a bad economy or high corruption. (Third world countries.)  Lucky for me my country fades away in the background. And America is a third world country |

I remember back in the April '13 crash that in the aftermath, there was a great post from somebody who had a lot of coin but didn't sell at $150. The post was very philosophical and talked about forgetting about the lost opportunity and getting on with life. Those who read it will definitely remember it.

the problem is that I wasn't strong. I sold at 50s or so because of fear. And then it went back up so I rebought at 100s or so. I lost because I was a weak hand. Should I have been strong, nothing would have affected me. Learn to HODL it only costs you a bottle of cheap whiskey |

i see people call cryptsy is scammer also btc-e and ofc mt.gox too some of say if they dont refund me i may be a homeless u people really scare me i never use my own wallets  LOL if you put all your money in bitcoin YOLO style you'll die poor and homeless since you lack basic financial skills. I've been on Cryptsy and yes they are buggy but all my tickets have been resolved. Sometimes you go negative because you've sold your coins twice and they correct it during audits. BTC-e on the othehand stole 2BTC from my coworker. No withdrawl mail, no nothing and his money got traded to LTC and transferred to an account with 50000 LTC. Since he had multiple passwords (different for mail and BTC-e it is unlikely that a hacker had both passwords). Anyhow the basic rule applies. Only put money into an exchange that you are willing to lose (incl. stolen). I put >80% of my coins in cold storage aka paperwallet. |
