2881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Snooker Game on: February 19, 2022, 09:47:54 AM
I thought Billiards is quite different from snooker? is it that in Russia, they prefer to call it billiards? The two are fun and entertaining but I prefer the snooker it's more popular here than Billiards. There is a pool too I guess.

Billard is very different from snooker. The one that shares resemblance with snooker is pool. Infact, most people who play pool mistake it to be snooker. I was one of them. It is of recent that I knew what I played as a kid growing up was pool and not snooker. Check this article and it will also shock you what you know https://quedos.com.au/difference-between-billiards-pool-and-snooker/ . We used to bet while playing it and those around also place bets on the players. Pool is a gamblers game, more than tennis or other games for two. A player can lose the overall game but make much money from betting as he plays on. I like it but the balls are expensive to buy and that makes charges collected to play it at local joints in my country high.

I was confused at first because the thread says Snooker game and I know that they have similarities but Billiard doesn't have a pockets like a snooker. I have visited the link you share at the glance of the first man reply I quoted but I was able to understand that we all confuse the names and games when they mean different things, just has some similarities and called Billiards(Billiard, pool, snooker) games in general. Here is a short video[1] I saw that explains everything about Billiards.

2882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India's confusing crypto bill on: February 19, 2022, 09:24:02 AM
man, I confess that I'm shocked by this news, I didn't know it was possible to pay tax for something illegal, how could that be possible?

The whole state of India is confused, the country is divided because the stakeholders are having different clique, half want it to be legalized and the other part wants it to be banned, they both are pushing to pass/deny the bill for bitcoin freedom that's why we are seeing different headlines about bitcoin ban and taxes from India.

Quote
they are becoming a joke with these attitudes, why don't they decide right away what they want? if they don't like bitcoin just put laws that guarantee people won't use bitcoin to commit crimes and let people choose whether or not they want to use bitcoin, they look like dictation governments disguised as democratic

Have you read the 2022 report of crypto crime analysis? you can find everything from Chainanalysis[1], You will come to the conclusion that India is just a minor in Bitcoin crimes. The money the government has been printing has its bad side too, they should allow people to do whatever they want it freedom(bitcoin).

Yea, that's it. What about you?

I am struggling to learn every technical part of bitcoin, the reading never ends, and sometimes I blame myself for not coming early. There are plenty of bitcoin proposals that have been implemented and they are just plenty to accommodate on this my small head but thanks to Bitcointalk, it becomes easier to digest.
Virtually, friends are a great way to enjoy place and I must say that I have come across plenty of people from different backgrounds that are highly knowledgeable and blessed with skills, I am hoping that one day I would get to a point on Bitcointalk where my value will be expressed from my knowledge.
2884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: we have to be ready with taproot address on: February 19, 2022, 08:34:32 AM
like last night I still found members don't know what is bech32 address This.

This reason might not be enough to prove that the user doesn't know the Bech32 address. Maybe the poster was rushing to respond to the page and unintentionally submitted a multi-sig address or maybe the user feels like using it, there are some occasions where the manager accepts multi-sig and P2pkh addresses instead of bech32 when you go through some of the spreadsheets.

Quote
For the next year, that possible your manager doesn't ask for the bech32 address again but will ask you to provide the Taproot address, do you know what it is?
No, I won't explain that you have to search in this forum, you have grown up, there are many tools on this forum to make it easier to find information about taproot

Despite the upgrades, some people are not bothered and wouldn't move their bitcoins from address A to address B, some prefer using their P2PKH address as long as the fees are still affordable and are supported by other wallets.

First, you need to know that Telegram is a home for scammers, associating yourself with bitcoin through telegram is like setting trap for yourself, I don't go there except for my bots notification.
If you are open to learning, there are plenty of bitcoin books that will guide you, there are many of them on the bookshelf created by Ratimov, Beginners & Help Encyclopedia [UPD: +Electrum Board] [1]
I also practically learn from Learnmeabitcoin[2] and the famous mastering bitcoin[3] by Andreas M. Antonopoulos, you will love these materials, trust me. Try and also visit Development & Technical Discussion board,[4] the threads are never boring.
Sorry for your loss!

2886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you improve about Bitcoin if you had the chance ? on: February 18, 2022, 07:28:55 PM
In as much as my private key gives me full control of my funds and it grants me access to sign a transaction if it gets misplaced then I'm doom for life. What if there was an improvement on this maybe a way of recovering back ones private key if it gets misplaced even if it would take a proof of work alogrithm or even a more tudious process but having a chance to get back lost wallets in cases of carelessness or maybe hazardous damage since it's not advisable to store private keys online nor would it possible for everyone to memorize this combined alpha-numeric values of SHA256 alogrithm

The best and safest method to retrieve your keys back in the future is to back them up as soon as you open a new wallet, writing down your seed/private keys is not difficult, since you know that you will be responsible for your own security, it should be your first priority before locking bitcoin on its public key hash.

If I have the opportunity to develop bitcoin, I will ensure that transaction blocks are kept to a maximum of kilobytes (if possible) so that other nodes do not suffer from a lack of space to store all data. This will encourage everyone to become a Node.
I will also make sure the speed is increased so that the memory pool can accommodate more transactions and miners will make more money in revenue, more people will want to mine and that will improve the security of the network.
2887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really censorship-resistent if they can't reach Canadian truckers on: February 18, 2022, 07:13:00 PM
The canadian truckers are unable to get a hold of the 21 bitcoin that have been donated to them recently because the wallets associated with the fundraising have been tracked and banned from all regulated financial institutions (including banks and exchanges). Two questions for discussion:
1. Is bitcoin really censorship resistent if the government can track and ban addresses? Bitfinex hackers being tracked and caught is another example (though most people would argue that this is an example of "positive" censorship resistence, unlike the canadian truckers example).
2. Can bitcoin be both censorship resistent and transparent at the same time?

I am late to this post, I wanted to continue a thread from the previous donations that were made last two weeks.
I am concerned about the exchanges that gave out the details of contributors to Canada's federal police force, other external wallet could simply mix their bitcoin and moved their sats to another wallet without any worries. Centralized Crypto exchanges are not different from banks, they make trading easier but they are more dangerous than banks, they can snitch on you and stab you in the back when any country bribes them.
2888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blockchain Gambling on: February 18, 2022, 10:40:33 AM
Hi guys,

what is the actual status of Blockchain Gambling, is there now Live-Roulette running? I ask this, because i don't like to be scammed anymore  through the middle man Online Casino.

Blockchain or decentralized gambling you mean? there will always be a middle man at a point to review your winnings and process your withdrawals. Live-Roulette running is available on very few gambling platforms.
Most online casinos now run on a blockchain, with full transparency, though some may require you to KYC for some reason.

The last one (fortunejack.com) stole from me 20$ It' s not much money, but under this conditions i can' t gamble with serious money.

You are trolling and I think very soon, you will get fed by DT members. I thought you're are having issues with withdrawal until I see your comment about being restricted with IP address, next time before you bet on any platform, read their policy terms.

2889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CrazyTime and Monopoly, should we trust? on: February 18, 2022, 10:08:19 AM
So far on the poll, people here do not trust this game

Yes   - 4 (28.6%)
No   - 10 (71.4%)
Total Voters: 14

I also voted no the house has a big chance to win the game and he can easily manipulate the game by using devices, honestly, I have not played this kind of game because the chances are in favor of the house based on a calculation I prefer playing in a game where I can check the fairness of the game.

Yes   - 5 (26.3%)
No   - 14 (73.7%)
Total Voters: 19

The number of comments is more than the votes and the current result is slightly different from yours. I voted NO, the game looks like a dummy and unserious, I wouldn't trust this kind of game with my money.

Getting reviews of a casino is a good way to get a basic judgement of casino but we cannot determine if it will remain the same in future.
Things are different if the casino has a long term good reputation, in that case we can have good trust on them.
But if a casino has good reviews only for the short term then it still comes under the risky category.
We have seen cases where scamsters initially build trust by giving good services and then scam their users out of nowhere.

Reviews are mostly not the best approach to lean on a betting platform, I have seen people here get paid for reviews and since money may be involved, they will likely ignore the bad sides of the casino and make a positive review to attract more people, it happens by most YouTubers when they do reviews for these casinos, instead of making it looks neutral, they instead do it with hope to bring more customers.
2890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Snooker Game on: February 18, 2022, 09:36:45 AM
I got acquainted with this game when I was a student. My friend and I liked to spend our free evenings in the billiard room playing Pyramid, or as we call this game Russian billiards. There we also learned how to play snooker.

I thought Billiards is quite different from snooker? is it that in Russia, they prefer to call it billiards? The two are fun and entertaining but I prefer the snooker it's more popular here than Billiards. There is a pool too I guess.

I'm talking about the sportsbook you are advertising in your avatar and your signature, are odds interesting to bet on snooker there and especially on the events you've quoted above? You are necessarily aware of that since you post so many messages here and you are not a spammer, right?

To say that's comment is coming from a high-ranked member, the mods will soon come for him.

The problem with snooker games is that major companies are not investing enough on the game to make it popular. These snooker tournaments are not well publicized hence many snooker fans tend not to know about these tournaments.

There is no hype in it like we do in other sports, having it included in the Olympics may bring out the beauty of it but that still depends on sponsors, they put money in whatever they like.
2891  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bear vs Bull : The Beauty Of Cryptocurrency on: February 18, 2022, 09:08:37 AM
Feel free to state your thought(s).

Our mind is financially tricky, that's why everyone gets scared in a bear market and sells off everything. That being said, I used to have this question on my mind why do people always sell their bitcoins when the market is dumping? is it that they fear the bear market? but my findings help me to understand that the crypto market is more than just a regular spot trading of BTC?USD, we have margins, futures, and options, they will sell in other to mitigate their loss.
If I have the capacity to gather more wealth one day, I will be a full-time trader, both bear and bull markets should be a win-win if you know how to play around, sometimes holding and waiting for another bear market is never enough to accomplish huge profits.
2892  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Worst exchange you experience for trading on: February 18, 2022, 08:53:41 AM
So far, I've had a lot of bad exchanges, and most of them have been scams. however, most of the exchanges I've forgotten the name of because of poor service, and became scams. one of them may be a latoken, so far I have several coins there, but have never made a withdrawal until now. however, bad exchanges are very easy to forget.

Did I just read what you just type correctly? Bad exchanges are very easy to forgive! I doubt if you your money has ever been stuck on any exchange, you will coarse that exchange and continue to trash them whenever you come across their name.
Latoken is a poor exchange, and it irritates me when new projects list in their exchange as their first listing because of the low volume, they list anything to earn their share, similar to Coinsbit, another tortoise-like exchange. Grin Grin

2893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto stuck in sports betting site, now they want KYC on: February 17, 2022, 10:09:00 PM
Sometimes, we tend to break the TOS just to enjoy gambling despite the restrictions but as we take the risk, we should also keep in mind that our funds aren't in a safe place. 1500 is still a huge amount but to be honest, it would be hard for you to recover it. VPNs aren't that safe these days.

Maybe it's just a penny he was playing around with, you never can tell. He knew the risk of gambling in a non-jurisdiction area but he still went ahead, that's even gambling for taking such a risk.  Grin
VPNs are safe, depending on what type you are using, some VPNs are not strong enough to cover your tracks on some websites.

Did they ask for the KYC when you were depositing funds ? No right most of the times this happens and problem is that you used a VPN ofcourse which will end up against their rules and regulations causing your winnings and everything to go, they won't be allowing you to withdraw anymore as well since this would be against their policies. What you can do is ask some friend of yours from other country where the crypto is legal to do that and this can actually work only if they don't suspect it but then again be would be making the bets on your behalf much like a third party which is again scary to trust regarding so much money.

You forgot the part where OP says he has chosen Hongkong as his location and that's another area where crypto betting is not allowed. He has done a big mistake that he just had to let's go as a loss and win for the casino.

2894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: February 17, 2022, 09:43:21 PM
But even though the casino has difficulty following requests from the community, the casino can still try to attract more gamblers to feel this way. But if the casinos feel they don't need to implement web 3.0, they can look for other ways to entice gamblers to stay on their site. In that case, the casino could try to give a bonus or something to keep them there. In addition, loyal members will not move to other sites, especially if members already feel comfortable playing gambling on that site.
Most casinos are wiser now, they give weekly draw for participants and each winner are announced towards the end of the week or the following week.

However, improving the quality of services of those gambling casinos are essential to their business like providing their gamblers a quality of services even like  operating online though it's quite true that casino businesses are having trouble following the requests of their community but if they can provide it in near future or atleast giving their community the assurance that they will research or study about adopting changes in their gambling experience inside their establishments or sites then this will atleast maintain their loyal customers stay to them.

We all have limits and so do casino websites. The number one purpose of every casino out there is to make big money, if players could lose all, I'm very sure they will be happy, the casino can't take most of the suggestions others are airing here.
what about current servers in use and hosting plan? are they efficient enough to carry these features? they also experience some losses times when a player wins a money bag, everything suggested by customers cannot be implemented as fast as they want.
2895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 17, 2022, 09:25:44 PM
It depends on how much you bet and where you want to support. In sports gambling of course you need to take a time where is ideal to make a bet like having research on the team, strategy, best plays and current lineup. When I make a bet too I do a single bet because at that time I can now watch the current live game and don't need to pressure too many indifferent bets. If you can handle in different game good but if you want to watch those games and get entertain go for a single bet at the end of the day still profit is the ideal thing.

I just had to smile on reading the highlighted part of your comments.  Using the recent match between Real Madrid and PSG as an example, predicting a win in that match was a difficult task. Real Madrid has a reputation with some top players such as Mendy and Benzema, while PSG has players such as Messi, Mbappe, and others. You may strategically want a win for PSG or a draw, but who will believe Messi will miss that penalty? It would have been a different story if Mbappe hadn't scored the ball in the final minute.
2896  Economy / Economics / Re: Dealing with tax and crypto ban on: February 17, 2022, 08:43:10 PM
But I heard that many people from that country are happy because they said that the tax is better than the ban. Because majority of them are either software developers or other freelancers and they do not invest from their own pocket. They do work for other and they get 70% for themselves and 30% is given to the government in tax. It is my Idea and if this is the case then I think they are still in benefit.

Making it legal is an advantage to holders but hell no, 30% is too much, maybe my environment is making me hard to digest and accept that figure because I can't pay $30,000 as a tax from $100,000 profits, that's too big.

I've read several tax recommendations and a particular one from coingecko[1] on how US citizen pay their crypto taxes, but I've yet to see someone who pays 30% tax from their crypto wages.
You will have to pay tax for investing in cryptocurrency when you sell them, and there are other ways to pay tax when you are involved in cryptos, such as selling free coins you receive via fork coins, defi, and staking, and receiving a gift in the form of crypto when it is greater than the sum of $15,000.

In my opinion something is fishy here, assuming he is using a popular e-mail provider like Google, it should be relatively easy to re-gain access to it if it is associated to a cell number, security key or Authy.

Do you mean the same Google where a single mobile phone number can routinely be used to create tens to hundreds of Gmail accounts? If the OP has joined his Gmail account with a phone number that is not his, the account is no longer will be hard to retrieve, and the chances of him having that account back is slim, my friend.

Quote
In the worst case it may take a couple of days and even deal with some Google costumer support, but still doable, I believe.

Account recovery without an original key or a cell phone number will be a waste of time and effort, and support will do nothing since they may believe it's an impostor, just like everyone else does right now.
2899  Other / Meta / Re: Undo Button on: February 17, 2022, 07:37:15 PM
I was thinking that if this forum lacks an Undo button. Sometimes we may delete the post by mistake and need to un-delete that post. As per my knowledge, there is no way that action can be reverted and the post could not be restored.

Don't we need something as a "undo" button for this scenario?

Good suggestion, but the possibility of getting that on the current software is slim, especially since the forum's new software is already in development. Maybe you can move or suggest the same thing in the >>New forum software<<. The suggestions here wouldn't solve the deleted post, using the alternative Archive feature of Ninjastic and Loycev to recover your comment would change everything about your post ID and other information.
2900  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada to freeze Freedom Convoy Protestors bank accounts... on: February 16, 2022, 11:28:18 PM
I'd have to say Bitcoin is to be thanked for putting an end to this type of restriction. Tallycoin collected the second funding for Canadian trucks, as I posted in my previous thread on Bitcoin a true censorship resistance, Tallycoin raised funds for Canadian trucks. I was following the updates and every goal raised funds that were smashed, but they kept increasing the goal, and at a point, I stopped updating the amount, but I believe they raised about 2,100,000,000 sats the last time I checked, but some small sats donations were still coming in.
I just checked the page where the funds were raised, but it was gone, I'm not sure why but Gofundme has lost not just its user base, but also the community's confidence, and it's only a matter of time before they are replaced.

The Protesters and donators have a right to sue Gofundme and the banks, similar thing happened in my country during the Endsars protest when some donations were made to support against killings of youth and the court ruled in their favor.
