Is someone selling bitcoin on amazon? Put up a listing to sell 0.01 for $10 in the digital goods section and I'll buy it.
2884  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Local bitcoins really that safe? on: October 22, 2014, 06:19:42 AM
My guess is may be they were just checking to see if you intend to use that account. They might be cleaning accounts with no activity and sent these emails to see who still wants to keep an account there and who doesn't. If you're still worried about your computer being effected then I suggest you do a clean re-install of the OS.

Yeah no random satoshis anymore, most of the payments were dust but some of them were 10 k satoshis and it helps pay for the Tx fee Smiley

There's a task on the site where you have to follow a twitter user "InPayTo" which I did and as proof provided them my twitter account which they asked for but those scumbags rejected my work  Angry. They're only trying to gain free followers, what these morons don't understand is that I can UN-follow them again, Which I just did.

This is the description of their task. AVOID THEM!

We are Bitcoin Payment processor from Poland but we share interesting stuff on our wall. So it is worth following no mater what.

Sounds like a lot of hassle for $10  Huh

True  and I won't be surprised if in the end it turns out to be a scam and just a waste of time.
2890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's see what you know about Bitcoin... on: October 20, 2014, 03:34:33 PM
Hi Twister,

Thanks for helping out. Nice question by the way. You have received your 1.1 mBTC and can cash out to any BTC address through bitwork.io. Nice huh?

As far as I know you cannot use the BTC to pay for work. But you can always create a job and fund it by sending BTC to the address.

Hey thanks Smiley I just requested the cash-out, and I received it in my wallet within few seconds.

http://blockchain.info/tx/d055330e8adcafaa4d5817324ecb73cb0d23d96fef49cf1f4b98200d74bb87c5

This is awesome, I prefer instant payouts Smiley.

Do you own the bitwork.io site too or just redgrasp?
2891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's see what you know about Bitcoin... on: October 20, 2014, 02:28:25 PM
Hi guys,

Nice to hear someone had already heard of Redgrasp! I am the owner of the website and I love Bitcoin. So it makes sense to test the website on a forum about Bitcoin. But I can totally understand your reluctance to log in for something related to Bitcoin for fear of hacking. Not sure if this helps but I am not a hacker Wink

If you would like to earn 1.1 mBTC for answering the questions, you can also check out bitwork.io. I created a task there that let's you prove you participated.

I took the test and got a certificate and also accepted and completed the work at bitwork.io and presented the certificate I received. It says "Completed. You have completed this, the asker needs to accept your work. Check back soon to see if they have!"

So let's see now if this is legit or not, btw, where do I put my btc address, I don't see that option anywhere and how much is the minimum cash-out?

Also, what if I decide to not cash-out but use the btc I earned to get some work done for myself? Is that possible?

2893  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Online or Desktop Wallet? on: October 15, 2014, 07:37:53 AM
You can use Online wallet like blockchain.info with 2fa enabled for very short amount of coins and for day to day transaction. After that comes the desktop wallet, again don't keep too many coins there, and use cold storage for holding the big amounts of coins.

For ex:

I keep about 0.01-0.05 on blockchain.info with 2fa enabled
0.06-0.2 on desktop electrum and anything above that I move to cold storage.
2894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping your butts safe on: October 15, 2014, 07:30:40 AM
I have two offline wallets that split my BTC between the two. If something happens to one, I don't lose them all.

I have my public addresses as 'watch only' so I can monitor the balances.

I have my private keys stamped into metal that won't melt if the house burned down.

AND I have paper copies in another location, split up so you need both parts to complete the key.

I'm HODLing long term, so I wanted to be safe.

Wow, I must say this is very secure. Did you stamped it into silver yourself or had someone else do it?
2895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If all block chain copies get deleted, what would happen? on: October 15, 2014, 07:23:26 AM
Never thought of that and don't think it can happen, let's see what Bitcoin Gurus has to say about this.

Ubuntu is great and it would a little difficult for you to make the switch, you can make it look like windows a little but you can't change the way it's used, it is very user friendly, once you get the hang of it and much secure than windows but if you still don't like it, just use windows.
