I voted yes. I'm an agent of chaos.
2883  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Luke Jr. @ BFL on: March 20, 2013, 09:04:18 PM
i wish they would put up a webcam in the building area so we can see progress.

I don't want to see what Luke gets up to in front of a computer.

I've seen it and it isn't pretty. Let's just say it involves bible verses.

Hullow!  Smiley

I've heard this thread has turned to popcorn central?

Someone bring me up to speed or....wait... I'll just guess: People shoved billions into the usagi's greedy little hands again and the usagi fucked it all up again. Is that close enough?
2885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THIS IS NOT WHAT BITCOIN WAS MADE FOR! on: March 20, 2013, 02:34:32 PM
BTCTalk: "Protecting one's intellectual property is the exact same thing as running over people in the streets or bombing little children."
2886  Other / Off-topic / Re: Donate to help education on: March 20, 2013, 02:24:21 PM

Greyhawk, everything is in your mind.

No, if it were you would be wearing a green shoe, a yellow shoe, a red white polka dot leather jacket and fake mustache glasses right now.
2890  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Million person Music Festival passess on: March 20, 2013, 01:17:44 PM
It's going to be tough to attend this concert with no date or location.

The concert is in your mind.
2891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it smart to use mtgox as your bitcoin wallet on: March 20, 2013, 12:40:20 PM
This is about the worst idea possible. The MtGox wallet is a shared wallet, so if you ever intended to receive BTC in a transaction the money would land "somewhere" on MtGox, but not your account.

thats not really true

you have a fixed deposit address. but a very strong problem is, that if you withdraw money (eg playing sdice) the coins do come from a different address (which is NOT your deposit address).

^^ so its impossible for the receiver to just "return" coins (which sdice tries)

Ah, thanks for the correction.

2893  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Them BFL Cowboys on: March 20, 2013, 11:50:51 AM

That's been happening every few hours since the weekend. I wonder what kind of package deal they made with cloudflare. Cloudflare is usually much more stable.
2894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC Mining Soon to Be Unprofitable??!?! on: March 20, 2013, 11:45:08 AM
Oh good, another scam AND a necromancy and in the same post too. great.
2895  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I am planning to buy Avalon batch 3..is batch 3 invitations only? on: March 20, 2013, 11:14:18 AM
For one, they are now gouging us because they can, selling a product that was profitable for $1500 for $6000, and that just feels wrong to me as a customer.  And for two, they are taking out a huge chunk of batch 3 miner profits through this price increase, while the batch 3 miners are still wearing all the uncertainty and risk (risk of adverse btc movement, risk of BFL shipping, risk of huge difficulty increase, risk of ASICminer doubling up, risk of another player bringing something to market).

Oh, pleeeeeease, cry me a river.  Roll Eyes This free market is exactly what you people were screaming for all the time. This is exactly what you wanted. You made the soup, now eat it.
2896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's up with waiting for everything in bitcoin?? on: March 20, 2013, 09:40:39 AM
I will answer your question as soon as I have time. Please allow a wait of up to 72 hours. Thank you.
2897  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: unfair treatment to new members on: March 20, 2013, 01:04:38 AM
Here are a few rules which you should keep handy as they have served me well.

1) TRUST NO ONE!
2) READ #1 AGAIN
3) NEVER EVER LEND BTC (PERIOD)
4) REMEMBER BTC IS A RISKY INVESTMENT AND YOU SHOULDN'T FULLY RELY ON IT, OR, IN MILDER WORDS (JUST TO PLEASE THE FANS) NEVER PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.
5) READ #1 AGAIN

Now that we established that and it's clear... let's talk about unfair treatment:

Do you really think people with higher post counts are idiots? Remember they were newbies too. Also, we are talking about having higher post count? Really??? Does that entitle people with higher post count to bragging rights? If so, then allow me to tell anyone with a higher post count that IT'S AN INTERNET FORUM!!! GET A LIFE!!!
There's absolutely no reason for anyone to "brag about" being a hero member or higher...
If you're a CEO of a fortune 500 company, fine, you can brag about it, if you're an All-Star Athlete, sure, go ahead. Are you a US Senator? Awesome, you can also brag about it. Do you have two PHD's? Amazing!
Are you a Hero Member? LMFAO, please don't even try it. The community will give you the respect you deserve for being a long BTC supporter, but don't even dare to "brag" or belittle anyone in this forum because you don't really have any position of power nor authority. The most you'll get is a laugh from someone, in many cases, smarter than you.
Just use the golden rule and everyone will be fine.
Remember, we are all in here because we support and we believe in this emerging currency.

are we allowed to brag about being a senior member???

Sorry. Bragging rights are for hero members only.
2898  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Top 10 reasons why BFL will postpone their April 2013 shipping date on: March 19, 2013, 10:53:33 PM
BFL_Josh: Your appointment with Luke-jr should be finalized within the week. I've already discussed the matter with Judy.
Sonny: I take it he was agreeable?
BFL_Josh: He didn't really have a choice.
Sonny:  Has he pre-ordered?
BFL_Josh: Oh yes. Most certainly. When I mentioned we could put him on the priority list for the MiniRig, he was so willing it was almost pathetic.
Sonny:  This delay... the rioting is intensifying to the point where we may not be able to contain it.
BFL_Josh: Why contain it? Let it spill over the dorms and trailers, let the bodies pile up in the basements. In the end they'll beg us to save them.
Sonny:  I've received reports of armed attacks on shipments. There's not enough ASICs to go around, and the underclasses are starting to get desperate.
BFL_Josh: Of course they're desperate; they can smell their insolvency, and the sound they'll make rattling their cages will serve as a warning to the rest.
Sonny:  Mmm. I hope you're not underestimating the problem. Intelligence suggest they're behind the problems in bumping.
BFL_Josh: Bunch of pretentious young kids playing at running the world. But the world left them behind long ago. We are the future.
Sonny:  We have other problems.
BFL_Josh: Avalon?
Sonny:  Formed by 2 dudes in China after the strike on bAsic. I have someone in place though. I'm more concerned about friedcat. He's relocated to BTCGuild.
BFL_Josh: Our FanBox is far in advance of theirs, as is our electronic sentience, and their 'ethical inflexibility' has allowed us to make progress in areas they refuse to consider.
Sonny:  The augmentation project?
BFL_Josh: Among others. But, I must admit, I've been somewhat disappointed with the performance of the primary unit.
Sonny:  The secondary unit should be online soon. It's currently undergoing preparations and should be operational within 4-6 weeks. If necessary, the primary will be terminated.
BFL_Josh: We've had to endure much, you and I, but soon there will be order again. A new age. Satoshi spoke of the mythical city on the hill, soon that city will be real and we will be crowned its kings. Or, better than kings... Gods!
2899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Working on rebranding Bitcoin on: March 19, 2013, 09:46:13 PM
Don't mix fonts. The elegant Ampersand juts out like an open sore surrounded by the sans serife text. It reeks of pretentiousness.

Keep the social media links beneath the video. Get rid of the facebook likes thing below "download". Everyone hates that, it has no informational value and it looks like cancer.

Otherwise very clean and nice.

Come on dude, you're almost 30. I would expect this from a naive young boy, not a grown man.
